I went to Oxomoco a lot when it first opened and was hyped when I returned to see the food and service were still exquisite. They had an off menu kids plate for my son (quesadilla, avo and black beans) and offered us a chair for our coats. Overall excellent with service. Some new additions were swordfish tacos (my favorite) and the lamb barbacoa was the table hit. We had an amazing experience at Oxomoco. The ambiance and service were great, but this restaurant is really about the food. When we walked in, we were offered a choice of sitting at the countertop overlooking the kitchen or at a traditional table, and chose to sit near the kitchen. Definitely do this if it's an option! It's always cool to watch a restaurant's kitchen in motion, and the soft warmth coming from the grill was an added bonus. It was also more intimate - there are only six seats at the kitchen countertop. Drinks: All of the cocktails looked appealing, but we ultimately went with the Guava Mezcal Margarita and the Mariachi Hibiscus Mezcal cocktail. These drinks were quite smooth but certainly not watered down either. While we aren't big drinkers, both were quite tasty and complimentary to the food. It's worth trying any of the drinks here, especially if you're into tequila or mezcal. Food: We started off with the Oxomoco Guacamole. What separates this dish is the tomatoes and queso fresco that accompany it, giving a much wider flavor profile. The tortilla chips were perfectly crisp, adding great texture. Next, we ordered the Punta Verde Caesar. This dish was much bigger than we expected, which was a very pleasant surprise. The dressing was perfect in strength and quantity, the ample cotija crunch could have had us eating grilled romaine for hours. The only bone to pick with this dish is it took a bit of effort to cut the lettuce into pieces small enough to eat, but nevertheless, we came away from it thinking that it was the best Caesar salad we've ever had. The Swordfish Tacos and Mushroom Tlayuda (pictured) came out next. The Labneh and Salsa Arabe in the tacos worked well with the swordfish which was grilled to perfection. The Mushroom Tlayuda was my personal favorite -- the mushrooms were so flavorful even on their own, but combined with the mole and salsa, it made for a phenomenal first Tlayuda for us. Dessert: We ended the night with a delicious flourless chocolate cake that had espresso ice cream and chocolate mousse stacked on it, which just about sums up how sweet the night was. It's always a treat to eat at Michelin-star restaurants, and everything was great from start to finish at Oxomoco. While the restaurant is of course pricey, the experience and memories of eating some of NYC's best Mexican food was totally worth it. read more

Oxomoco was amazing from beginning to end. Food was delicious, service was great, and the ambiance of the restaurant was lively with the besttt Spanish playlist I've heard in a while. My friends and I ordered multiple dishes so we could try a bit of everything and we were not disappointed. Both the Soya Tuna and Shrimp Ceviche tostadas were very fresh and flavorful. The Oxomoco Guacamole was super tasty, but the Punta Verda Caesar was just okay - I was not too fond of the wood fired romaine but it worked well with the cotija cheese. My favorite dishes were the Corn Tlayuda - a Mexican style pizza that was devoured in seconds by the table, and the Wagyu Bavette which was cooked to perfection in the most scrumptious peppercorn mole and accompanied with truffle mojo potatoes. The Pollo a las Brazas was quite filling and we really enjoyed the inclusion of the crispy red rice and blue corn tortillas. The drinks were just as good too, the spicy mango margarita is a must (deeelish!). We ended the night with a luscious Mexican Chocolate Cake & Coffee Ice Cream that was excellent. A restaurant that is well worth the visit and well worth the money. I went with two friends and we did family style for everything. The tuna tostadas were divine, every meat we had was so tender, cooked and spiced to perfection. The sauces are all around amazing for each dish. The margaritas were really good too! But of course the food is what stands out. The guacamole was super fresh and a really good portion to share! Our waitress was so lovely and helpful the entire meal, very knowledgeable about the menu items too when we had questions. Simply put, Oxomoco is excellent, from its exceptional food and drinks offerings to its lively and trendy atmosphere. We had the option to snag a table inside or even do the chef's counter, but since we were dining in the waning days of summer, we opted for the patio, which is partially enclosed but open to the elements at the front. The space inside is beautiful, though, so you really can't go wrong. We ordered: Smoked mango (chili, lime): Sweet, smokey, and (quite) spicy dried mango slices. Delicious starter with our drinks. Soya marinated tuna tostada (avocado, salsa macha, radish): we ordered this mainly because we showed up early for our reservation and hung out for a while at a bar down the street, where a bartender who used to work at Oxomoco told us that she still dreams about this dish. It was indeed really good - nice and crispy base, with sticky-glazed tuna and creamy avocado - although I'll actually be dreaming about another dish (to be named later). Market corn tlayuda (cotija, epazote, salsa oxomoco): the fresh grilled corn on the crispy corn tlayuda stands out flavor-wise. Roasty, toasty vibes. Maybe a tad salty. Beet "chorizo" tacos (crispy potato, avocado, salsa a las brazas): Good, but not amazing. I enjoyed the smoky beet flavors. We were already getting full when these arrived and I still wanted to save room for dessert, so that might've influenced our perception a bit. Hoja Santa curd: Okay, THIS is the dish I'll be dreaming about. I may be slightly (very) obsessed. This is an herbal-but-sweet curd topped with strawberry raspado (shaved ice), strawberries, and thick olive oil. It was SO sinfully creamy, and the juxtaposition of the textures and the herbal/fruity flavors, along with the decadent touch of oil and just a hint of salt results in a mind-blowing dessert. Hands down my favorite dessert of the year, maybe even my favorite dish. Drinks: The drinks here are really, really good. The frozen drinks are great and super popular, but don't sleep on the regular cocktails. I listed here from my favorite to least fave but loved them all: Cocktail with mezcal and smoked peaches: I can't find this on the online menu and don't remember the name. This drink would fit easily into a menu at a top-tier cocktail bar. The grilled peaches flavor pairs so perfectly with the smoky mezcal. An Italian liqueur also adds some subtle contrasting bitterness. Nopalito (tequila, sotol, cucumber, mint): this is the near-opposite of a too-sweet frozen drink. Instead, it's vegetal, spicy, and smoky, with cool cucumber vibes. It reminded me a bit of a margarita made with Ancho Reyes Verde liqueur. The shrimp ceviche tastes very fresh and there are plenty of shrimp on there. But maybe a bit too much mayo. The market corn tlayuda is blackened on the bottom and tastes smoky and the tortilla is crisp like a cracker. The signature red sauce (Salsa Oxomoco) is spicy, but not too bad. The lamb barbacoa tacos were good, not overcooked like some of the others I saw on here. They were not super hot, more like slightly above room temperature, but they were still good. Some might think there's too much salt and that the Cotija cheese flavor is too much, but I liked it. Came here for my friend's birthday dinner and was pleasantly surprised! First of the staff here are all great and the ambiance is amazing. I love the vibes. Since we were all enjoying ourselves, it wasn't as bad, but I will say service was pretty slow. Oh before I jump to food, I LOVED their black sesame horchata. It tasted so good and it was one of a kind. As for the food, here's what we had: - Tuna Tostada (4.8/5): this was really delicious! Loved everything about it, we ordered more of it. - Swordfish Tacos (5/5): this was the highlight of the night for me & most memorable. The fish was cooked so perfectly and each bite was full of flavor. I loved this one A LOT. - Guacamole (4/5): pretty standard but delicious guac with chips. - Punta Verde Caesar (5/5): actually this was the OTHER highlight of the night. It was SO. BOMB. It was unique and SO delicious, you have to get this along with the tacos. - Wagyu (3/5): unfortunately this was a bit on the just OK, can probably pass on it. An amazing meal, I can absolutely see why this place has a Michelin star. We ordered a ton of stuff off the menu and pretty much everything was an absolute knock out. Another wordy review you ask? Yes- Here's what I got and also what I recommend: - Chips and Salsa: Not your typical run of the mill salsa & sauces. This is a fine curated selection of 6 different sauces to suit your taste buds. Each vary in texture, composition and taste. The darkest green being the mildest and then counter clockwise until you get to the most heat. My friend and I both seemed to favor the third salsa which felt more like a glaze. Pro tip is to make sure to save some of the salsas for adding to eat plate you get during your meal to customize each dish. (Highly recommend) - Mango with lime: While I enjoyed this snack in its execution and simplicity, this isn't a "must get". It was definitely delicious and I'm glad we ordered this for the table, but if you're looking at your budget and need to cut down somewhere, start here. I agree that these are better than the TJ version (by far). This would be a good option if you wanted to pop in and sit at the bar, have a snack and a drink as opposed to adding onto a full meal. (Good, not do or die.) - SOYA MARINATED TUNA TOSTADA: this was incredibly well seasoned, fresh and bright. I loved the addition of the radish to add some additional texture and softer crunch to the light tuna. A hint of spice but toned down with the avocado/radish combo. (Highly recommend) - SWEET POTATO TLAYUDA: Here's where things get tricky- if you ask me, this was good but not mind blowing BUT if you asked my friend who joined me for dinner, they'd mention that this was one of their favorite parts of the meal. (Good, not do or die.) - LAMB BARBACOA TACOS: As soon as you bite into this your taste buds tingle. I loved the bbq styled meat. It was almost like pulled pork but not that flavor. Paired with the 3rd (glaze like) salsa, this was amazing. -SWORDFISH TACOS: This was the table favorite. I had never had swordfish before and I am so glad that this was my first experience. The texture was so unique- a cross between really moist/tender chicken and almost haloumi like (but not flavor wise). These had a beautiful smoky grilled char on them. Mixed with the creamy labneh and onions, this was a masterpiece. (Highly recommend, a must order.) - Carrot Cake: In theory this sounded like a nice way to round out this stand out meal but this was the only item we ordered that I wish we didn't. The cake was dry- something I found odd because I feel like that's a sure-fire win with carrot cake. The mole topping was good and the dollop of cream made it better but I'd definitely pass on this or go with a different dessert selection. Drinks: I got the Mariachi, which I loved even though I'm not a huge mezcal fan. It was very refreshing. My friend got the guava marg and this was more mild in flavor but they ordered two, so I think they enjoyed it. Service was amazing. I didn't catch our server's name, but she was so friendly and personable. She offered feedback on our selections when asked and also provided her opinions on what to try from the menu. My friend had even accidently spilled salsa on his white shirt and she brought over a tide to go pen- that was so sweet. Overall ambiance is great. I love the airy, tall ceilings, beige/creamy scenery mixed with green plants. Very clean borderline boho. They offer a decent amount of seating both inside and in their (for now, covered) patio, including round booth seating for larger parties. Came here for brunch to meet up with a friend. An avid fan of Latin American cuisine, we decided to dine at this spot, as he has already been here previously. I am just glad I'm able to cross another Michelin Star restaurant off of my list. Ambiance really makes it feel likes you're in Mexico, super bright with a huge skylight in the middle of its dining room. You feel warm on a super freezing day just from the decor and interior design alone. Service is pretty tip top shape. They are on top of it as you would expect from a Michelin Star restaurant. For drinks, I got the Guava Mezcal Margarita ($18). Very solid drinks where I ended up ordering another later on. Worth the extra dollar if you can't stand the taste of straight tequila. We started off with Chips and Salsa ($17). What made this unique was the variety of salsas placed in a ring on a plate, supposedly escalating in spice level (see image attached). Five of the salsas weren't really that hot, but that orange one sure delivered on the Scoville level. Never-the-less, they were all flavorful in their own unique way. The chips were served as Heirloom Corn Tostadas and extra chips can be requested for an additional $2. We also split an order of Chilaquiles ($19), which essentially looked like a sophisticated loaded nachos, consisting of tomato salsa, quest fresco, mole crumble, and a sunny side egg. This was something I've never had before that my friend recommended. The chips are not super crispy, but just enough to complement the rest of the ingredients. For entree, we both ordered the Arrachera Flank Steak Tacos ($21). For two tacos, this is for sure some very expensive tacos. For a Michelin rated restaurant, I have to be honest in saying that I was underwhelmed. When dining at Michelin rated establishments I'm looking for bursts of flavor, a water glass that never gets empty & a table that is always clean. Unfortunately at Oxomoco, in some cases, this didn't prevail. We also had a slight issue with management which was appalling, so I left Oxomoco saying, I'll probably never return. The space is absolutely beautiful, when I entered it was if I was transported to a cafe in Mexico City. I was there for brunch with some girlfriends to celebrate a bridal party and we were super excited to dine and fellowship. As we got started, I ordered the Jamaica Agua Fresca. It was light & refreshing, not overly sweet or overpowering. However, my glass seemed to have a crack in it. When I picked it up in an attempt to drink it, a red ring was cemented on our beautiful wood table. I alerted our waitress and she immediately got me another glass, but I had to ask for the stain to be cleaned up as it was a bit of an eye sore. Nonetheless, after asking, it was handled swiftly. We then ordered chilaquiles, a tuna tostada (not pictured) and a Caesar salad as our appetizers. The chilaquiles were phenomenal and my favorite dish of the day. I didn't eat the tostada but the girls seemed to enjoy. The Caesar salad, mixed reviews. Plating was beautiful but the dressing was almost too tangy for some. But the tacos, were severely underwhelming. We ordered the steak, lamb & pork tacos. Unfortunately, they didn't seem to get a lick of salt in the seasoning & the grease spilled out of the steak. The lamb and pork were drastically dry and the steak was overly greasy. For a $22 price point, the size and taste, absolutely not. Now the issue with management starts here. 4 pork tacos were ordered so that each of us could have one. The first two girls took a bite of theirs and immediately put it down saying they did not like the taste at all. Myself & my other friend took a bite of their tacos to see what they meant and we concurred. Dry and no flavor. This prompted us to have no desire to continue eating the pork taco. Now mind you, as we dined, no one stopped by our table to ask how everything was. So at the end of the meal, when our waitress finally did, we told her that we didn't enjoy the pork tacos and pointed to the two that had two bites in them and the two that remained untouched. We then asked if we could take the two untouched off of the bill. The waitress said she'll take care of it and we thought that was all. However, the manager then came over & delivered an arrogant speech. She said the kitchen doesn't take back food so they're doing us a favor, if we didn't like the tacos, there are tacos for everyone so she's not sure what the issue was, and that we should have said something earlier rather than waiting for the end of the meal. We alerted her that no one from the staff checked on us so that we had the opportunity to tell them that we were disappointed in those tacos and when the opportunity arose, we took our chance. Also, she said that after food is sent out from the kitchen that it can't be taken back. It may not be re-served, but the options at that point are the customer eats it or it's tossed as waste, which most restaurants have a budget for. Her tone in all of this was arrogant, condescending and completely uncalled for. And our lovely bride told her such which resulted in an apology. She then came back after, apologizing again, and said there was a miscommunication regarding what she was told about the tacos. What the miscommunication was, I'm not sure, but the apology was again given. The waitress then brought us all complimentary margaritas to seal the apology, star for customer service. All in all it was a good dining experience because my girls & I have a good time anywhere we are. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this establishment. The restaurant was not what I expected. I imagined a Mexican-themed restaurant, but fancier, in a huge Brooklyn space. This was not that. It was large and white, big, airy, minimalist, whites, high ceilings, beiges, light wooden accents, cozy semi-circular couches, an open chef's counter overlooking a wood-fired grill, and such a clean, beautiful finish with a healthy amount of greens around you! It looked like something out of a movie Michelin-star restaurant or a Pinterest board for a clean, minimalist-with-plants aesthetic. The outdoor section would have been wonderful to sit in during warmer weather, and the water was close enough for a post- or pre-lunch stroll. They have extremely limited vegetarian options, barring the bar snacks, and I believe we tried all of them. We started with the Chips and Salsa--six house-made heirloom corn tostadas with six salsas ranging from mild to spicy. It was a fun dish to share, but I don't think it was worth $20. The tostadas were on the thicker side and quite oily--your fingers would be greasy after eating them. The salsas were good, some better than others. Our collective favorites were the spiciest (orange) habanero one, the avocado blend (which just tasted like a watered-down guacamole), and the crispy chili crunch type (more Asian than Mexican). The other three were below average, with the green mildest one being just okay and one tasting exactly like ketchup. The salsas stayed with us till the end of the meal (barring dessert) and were liberally added to all the other dishes since nothing else was very spicy. Next, we had the Papas Bravas served with chipotle aioli--this was a collective favorite. These were baked mini potatoes smashed a bit (as seen in recipe videos with a glass), roasted till crispy on the outside and soft inside. Generously drizzled with a very yummy aioli, sprinkled with paprika and cilantro, they reminded us of Taco Bell's Spicy Fiesta Potatoes. It was a fun dish to share in a group while chatting. We moved on to the Oxomoco Guacamole, a typical guacamole with smoked cherry tomatoes, queso fresco (a lot of it), and three tostadas. I liked the cherry tomatoes, though not everyone did. As a whole dish, it was nothing special but fun to share in a group--though expensive for an appetizer. The Chilaquiles came first: nacho chips, tomato salsa, queso fresco, mole crumble, beans, pickled onions, and cheesy sauce. This was another collective favorite. It had a slight tang, which was surprising, but otherwise, it featured familiar flavors. Nothing too special but a solid classic dish I'd re-order. Next up was the Grilled Carrot Tostada, topped with parsnip purée, dill, carrot-habanero salsa. It looked intimidating with all the carrots on top, but the flavors were interesting and fresh. Crunchy from both the tostada and the carrots, it had a slight creaminess and mild smoky spice. It was messy to eat and share (as tostadas tend to be). None of us loved it, but we were quite happy with it. Then came the Mushroom Tlayuda, best described as a Mexican-style pizza. It had a crispy-ish tortilla base, maitake mushrooms, mole chichilo, melted cheese, crema, and salsa oxomoco. Much easier to share and eat slice by slice like pizza. Not spicy, so the salsas helped here too. It featured fresh turnip (I think), several sauces, and mushrooms--very cheesy and mushroomy, which can be hit or miss. Best eaten fresh as the tortilla gets soggier over time. The Honeynut Squash Tacos arrived. They featured papdzul amarillo (pumpkin seed sauce), gremolata (green herb sauce), and caraflex (cabbage). While the dish looked meh at first, lifting the cabbage revealed a wow factor. This taco was bursting with creamy, acidic, and slightly sweet flavors. It was hands-down my favorite. The only tweak I'd suggest would be cutting the squash into smaller pieces for better flavor balance. The Charred Beet Tacos followed, with mole rosa, queso anejo, crispy kale, and hibiscus. The crispy kale was a fun addition, and the cheese added a creamy texture. However, the beet chunks were massive, and adding another vegetable might have helped. For drinks, I got the Black Sesame Horchata- it had an intriguing earthy nuttiness but was very sweet. I wouldn't recommend it unless you like sweet drinks. Desserts were a highlight. The Oaxacan Chocolate Cake was decadent and rich, with a strong coffee ice cream, caramel, walnut crumble, and a pudding-like layer. While heavy, it was delicious. My favorite, however, was the citrus dessert. It featured a crispy tuile layer with hints of ginger and brown sugar, orange hibiscus pudding, charred grapefruit, mandarin, pomegranate, Meyer lemon zest, and crispy meringue. I came on a Monday evening and I got a reservation the day before. There were plenty of reservations available. The servers were nice and came to refill our water often. The food was unique and I don't get a chance to eat elevated Mexican food that often. I ordered: * Swordfish Tacos - 9/10 - The charred flavor on the swordfish was really good, and the spicy sauces added heat and a slight tanginess. The taco didn't have many toppings but the simplicity of the dish is what made the individual flavors shine. * Lamb Barbacoa Tacos - 7.5/10 - These had good flavor, but I felt like they were missing something. The meat was a bit dry, and all the ingredients were soft. I think adding another texture would elevate it. * Soya Marinated Tuna Tostada - 8/10 - The chili oil paired nicely with the soy marinade on the tuna. I liked that they put fat slices of tuna. The tostada was perfectly crunchy. * Oxomoco Guacamole - 7.5/10 - The chips on the side are the same tostada that comes with the tuna. Came with a friend and shared many dishes. We got the guac, tuna tostada, soft shell crab taco, lamb barbacoa taco, and dessert. The guac was delicious and had a hint of spice. The tuna tostada is definitely worth getting. Saw the pictures on Yelp and wasn't too sure as the plating isn't very exciting, but the flavors are definitely there. Wouldn't let the pictures fool you. The soft shell crab was a special for the night, which is well worth getting. The lamb barbacoa taco was also very tender and in a corn tortilla. The dessert was a custard made with an herb topped with strawberry ice, smoked strawberries, and oil. It was delicious but I cannot remember the name, and would definitely get. I have passed by this restaurant a few times now, so I decided to take my family here for Saturday brunch. This place is amazing. The service is great and the food was some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. First off, for drinks, I would highly recommend the Black Sesame Horchata. The waiter basically recommended everything on the menu, so I don't think you can go wrong with anything. My favorite appetizer out of the ones we had was the Tuna Tartare. The Cesar Salad was also a crazy combination. It had a smoky flavor which I've never had in a salad before. Out of all the tacos we tried, the Pork Carnitas was the best. Oxomoco was a lovely escape from the frigid NYC winter. From the ambiance, service, to food this place did not disappoint. First we ordered drinks and shout out to the waitress who "liked our vibe" and gave us another round on house. Onto food! We started with the guacamole, the lamb barbacoa tacos and the sword fish tacos. I've never had sword fish so this was an amazing introduction haha. All the ingredients were fresh and the dishes were full of flavor. Everything is portioned out to share so don't get shy! Lastly, we shared the Bavette cooked medium rare served with a side of black beans. The salsa and butter definitely gave the steak an intense and smokey taste. My go-to spot when friends come to visit - amazing for both brunch and dinner! Perfect for a date or girls night, their selection of mezcal and tequila is unique for the area but their food is where they really shine - the perfect combination of flavors in Mexican influenced dishes. This place is truly a hidden gem In this area of Brooklyn. When we arrived we had the first table as we would need to make it back to the city for a show. We waited outside for a few while the wrapped up their pre dinner meeting. Once sat we were greeted by several different people, all friendly. We started out w drinks mine being the frozen blood orange margarita, tasty is an understatement. As starters we had the guacamole and the salsas, both came with freshly made corn chips. Incredible food, everything was delicious! My one complaint was they had us seated in the outdoor patio, the temperature outside was 9 degrees. The restaurant assured us they had heaters but it was truly fridged out there. As someone who grew up in the restaurant industry I believe that they should have made the decision not to seat outside. Additionally, they should have given us complimentary tea or warm beverages. I would highly recommend this place for the food but do not go agree to dine outside if it's below freezing. My wife brought me here for my birthday last night. It was awesome--except for the fact that now I need to find somewhere equally cool to take her on her next birthday. That will not be easy. We kicked off the party with the seven salsa starter, which I strongly recommend. I admit that at first I was skeptical. The menu promises a "variety" of salsas, but in NYC, how varied could seven salsas be? At most NYC Mexican restaurants, you might expect seven salsas to include mild, medium, and spicy in traditional and in verde plus a mango habanero or something. Oxomoco delivered so much more. Each salsa was distinct and delicious in its own way. There was plenty of spice for fellow heat-seekers and also sufficient mild options for the more gentle-palated diner. We also really enjoyed the Corn Tlayuda. The corn was sweet and fresh and blended well with the cotija and crispy tortilla base. I do not know the difference between tlayuda and tostada, but my tastebuds did not care. The lamb barbacoa tacos were as delicious as Yelp promised. But for me, the tilefish tacos stole the show. The tilefish was juicy in a way that most fish are not capable of, but also flaky and delightfully crispy. The Michelin star is well deserved. I certainly won't be waiting until my next birthday to come back. read more

Sometimes, with fabulous results; sometimes, less successfully. Don't put blistered cherry tomatoes, herbs and crumbly cheese in guacamole. It's already a perfect food; it didn't need a cover band. On the other hand, yes please, make beets into chorizo tacos. Make a tlayuda with sweet potato and melted cheese. I admire the thought that went into it, and the results of these reimaginings are successful and confident. The ambiance gives "oooh a Michelin star." It's good enough for a special date night. The drinks are standouts, maybe because cocktails reward the kind of Instagrammable meddling irony that Oxomoco is trying to pull off. Get the frozen Paloma, even if it's cold and rainy. read more

i got the salsa, guacamole, tuna tostada, sword fish tacos, lamb barbacoa tacos, grilled american wagyu bavette, and chocolate cake (?) brownie (?) i also got a black sesame horchata and tried one of their frozen drinks. first, i loved the vibe of this restaurant. and the drinks were fire!! especially the frozen one. it was dangerous--u could barely taste the alch from what i could remember. we started off with the salsas and chips. i love whenever a place has housemade tortilla chips. i do wish these were crunchier and less on the harder side, but i did like breaking them apart to dip into the sauces. the salsas weren't really my style as they were more of different hot sauces rather than a tomato based dip. i would just get the guacamole if you come here, unless you prefer to put the salsa into the tacos. the guacamole was pretty good. the tuna tostada is a skip imo. it was too salty. the tacos here were really good, definitely the best i've had in new york so far. i loved the swordfish taco--it was so juicy, flavorful, and i loved how tender the fish meat was. definitely recommended. i liked the lamb barbacoa taco a little less, but it was still good. the wagyu came with a salad, grilled potatoes, and tortillas on the side to make steak tacos. i thought the steak was alright but nothing memorable. although it was tender, i found it to be on the chewier end. and i wish it had a bit more of a kick or flavor to it. i did have fun making my own tacos though. for dessert, we got this chocolate cake. it was good but very rich, so it was hard to finish it. read more

I used to love this place. This was until Mother's Day when I asked for some extra protein on the side of my Chilaquiles. Our waiter said they don't do that. My partner knows how much I love my chilaquiles with chorizo on the side. He pressed and they wouldn't budge so he asked to speak with the manager. She came by and explained how they won't do it bc they have the portions of chorizo for another dish. My partner asked if they can make an exemption. She said she would ask the chef, and he agreed to just this one time bc it was Mother's Day. We left and literally 20 minutes later. I had colic pain that left me very ill. I was the only person on the table that got sick. I know my partner pressed them too much. I feel they took matter into their own hands. I am disappointed, to say the least.
