One of the best restaurants in Greenpoint! We stopped by on a Thursday evening and were pleasantly surprised that we were able to grab a table without much of a wait. Oxomoco delivers an elevated, upscale take on Mexican cuisine, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The restaurant was a bit on the louder side, but the beautiful décor and lively ambiance made up for it. If I remember correctly, Oxomoco has earned a Michelin star--and if that's the case, it's well deserved. The portions are on the smaller side, but it's clear the focus is on exceptional ingredients and thoughtful execution rather than sheer quantity. Every dish showcased incredible attention to texture, balance, and flavor. The guacamole was outstanding, especially with the sweet whole cherry tomatoes that added a nice contrast. The aguachile was one of my favorites--fresh, bright, crunchy, with beautiful cuts of fish, vibrant lime acidity, and just the right amount of heat. The seafood tostada was equally impressive, with a rich black bean sauce complemented by thinly sliced jícama that added freshness and crunch. The lamb tacos were perfectly tender, flavorful, and cooked beautifully. Don't skip dessert. Both the chocolate cake and the tres leches were phenomenal and ended the meal on a high note. Overall, this was one of the most memorable Mexican meals I've had in New York. Every dish felt carefully composed, with high-quality ingredients and excellent execution. I would absolutely come back and look forward to trying more of the menu.
I visited Oxomoco for dinner and had a great time. The drinks are yummy and the guacomole is a must. It's very refreshing. I did have to order a second round of tostadas because the 4 they provided was not enough. I liked the tacos as well but sadly you only get two. This place makes for a cute date night or for drinks.
Such a cute vibe inside with amazing food. The flavor combinations were so unique and the food tasted great. I loved the tuna tostada which had a great chili oil kick to it and the tacos were pretty generous in portion as well.
I found myself at Oxomoco for an early dinner and to catch up with my brothers. One of them works in Brooklyn, and since we were off we decided to make the drive out there to meet him. The reviews and pics looked great, so I was looking forward to checking this Michelin-starred establishment out. I really like the aesthetics of Oxomoco. The dining room is a decent size - with an outdoor area immediately upon entry and the main dining room shortly after that. The space is bright with a mostly white color scheme; the skylights bring in a good amount of natural light and the bar provides an attractive focal point. We started with drinks - I went simple and ordered a margarita. It was pretty good but nothing too outstanding. The food is all meant to be shared, arranged in a single section on the menu with the plate size increasing as you continue reading. Our server recommended two to three dishes each - so we decided on 6 total of varying sizes. We ultimately decided on the peekytoe crab tostada, guacamole, scallop and hiramasa aguachile, two tacos: shrimp and arabe, and the pork carintas. Everything was really delicious - it's hard to choose my favorites because the dishes were so strong, but I'll try. The arabe tacos and pork carnitas were my favorites - the meats were tender and paired with a lot of complements to enhance the overall dishes. The aguachile and guac were also standouts - super fresh and the chips served with each were substantial. The shrimp tacos and crab tostada were the weaker dishes IMO, but still better than average. For dessert, we got something that I unfortunately do not remember the name of - but it was layered with a brownie, a thick custard product, and ice cream. Whatever the name, it was delicious and the perfect finisher to our meal. Service was good - everyone was friendly and food came out at a good pace. They also did a great job describing each dish as it was served which really enhanced the experience. Overall, I had a great time at Oxomoco - the food was delicious, the aesthetics were fresh, and the service was on point. Well worth the trip out to BK - I would definitely return.
Walked in on the 4th of July and were able to sit outside with no wait. Service was very attentive and helpful. We didn't see much of the inside but they had the World Cup playing outside. It was quite toasty outside, so more fans would have been nice but it wasn't unpleasant. Food and drinks were really good! Solid margs & guac, and the tostada and tacos were delish. Portions were small but filling enough for us.
My partner and I decided to try Oxomoco and were pleasantly surprised that we were able to get a table without a reservation. From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming, attentive, and provided excellent service with great attention to detail throughout the meal. The food was outstanding. Every single dish was perfectly seasoned, with a great balance of flavors and textures--crunchy, creamy, tender, and fresh all coming together beautifully. The seasoning never overpowered the ingredients, and everything tasted incredibly fresh, especially the seafood. The desserts were just as memorable. We absolutely loved both the tres leches cake and the flourless chocolate cake. They were the perfect ending to an exceptional meal. The restaurant itself has a beautiful atmosphere with an elevated take on Mexican cuisine while still feeling warm and inviting. This was one of the best dining experiences we've had in Greenpoint, and we'll definitely be back.
The food here was quite good. However, considering the price and the Michelin status, I would have expected it to be much better. The guacamole was really good, however I wish we received more. The wagyu tacos were all right. The meat was a little chewier than I would have liked, but I did think the carnitas plate was the best thing we ordered, Besides the chocolate cake dessert, that was amazing. The service and ambiance were really nice. However, none of the food really impressed me considering the price and Michelin status.
Oxomoco absolutely deserves the Came here with friends last night and everything from the service to the food was fantastic. I loved the calming, modern decor and the noise level was a bit too high at times, but manageable. I loved every cocktail we tried: guava margarita, Alma de dos tierras, espíritu del otoño, último adiós Every dish we tried was fresh and delicious: The chips with the variety of salsas and heat levels was a fun game of spice roulette. I loved the use of fresh herbs on the scallop aguachile. The tuna tartare tostada was uniquely prepared and had great flavor. Finally, the taco árabe was phenomenal and the perfect end to the meal. I would definitely return for the seasonal menu changes! And shout out to our amazing server Sydney for making it a great experience and patiently answering all of our questions.
Came to Oxomoco for my birthday dinner and had a lovely time. The interior is dim and green. Loved that they had plenty of unique vegetarian options. - Mushroom Tlayuda (5/5) - We both loved this so much and considered ordering a second. Packed with tons of flavor and very easy to share. Sadly I think they may have removed this from the menu since - Artichoke Tacos (4.5/5) - These were crispy & flavorful - Pineapple Cocktail (4.5/5) - Didn't catch the name, but the pineapple cocktail I had was refreshing. A fantastic spot for creative Mexican food with plenty of veggie options. Had to plan early to get a reservation on weekend night but was perfect for a special meal. The only con is that it is quite pricey espeically for the portion sizes.
We ended up going to Oxomoco for date night, and it was the perfect pick! The staff was super friendly, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food hit all the right notes for a summer evening. They recently had a fire in the grill area, so unfortunately some of the slow-cooked dishes weren't available -- but honestly, everything we did try was phenomenal. You can tell the quality and creativity are still top-tier. The standout for us was the tuna tostada -- seriously a must-try! Now we totally get the hype and can't wait to go back when the full menu is available again.
4.5 On a whim, we decided to see if we can get a table at Oxomoco. Walking in around 7:30 on a Saturday night, we were able to score 2 seats at the bar. The vibe is relaxed, but yet elegant and the staff is just lovely. Looking at the menu, it was smaller and more seafood heavy than we expected. Little did we know at the time, they had a fire recently that affected their cooking ventilation system so they had to pare down the menu because of it. With that said, I was not left wanting for anything. The Margarita was well made, but I wouldn't call it the best I've had. We started off with the guacamole. A largish bowl, served with 4 round fried blue tortillas. Topped with cilantro, cherry tomato compote and queso fresco, the guacamole was super creamy, but warning very spicy. It was delicious, but I did wish it was a bit more mild in the spice area. For our entree, the Conchinita Pibil Platter was perfect for sharing. It is presented as a make your own taco bar. Served with a nice portion of stewed pork, black beans, blue corn tortillas, cherry tomatoes and pickled red onions, chicharons and a habanero salsa. It was all incredible. When I say I have never had pork, so expertly cooked and seasoned, it just melted in your mouth and the flavors were hitting all the marks. Building a taco with all the items offered was just an explosion of flavor and it was amazing. We were still talking about how good it was on our walk back to the car. It'd be hard to go back and not order the dish again, but I'd be excited to see what the full menu has to offer once it's back.
Very nice lounge vibe, modern style of Mexican! It was a Saturday night around 8 o'clock, we were lucky got a table for 4! Nice and smart service, food was good! I recommend to order Cochinita a pibil meal for 3 to even 4 people. And maybe one more of snacks! If you would like to drink more. We had a fun time! Just to consider the high price- fancy enough for just a one potion of tacos for $25. But you can ask to the waiter for the kind advices!

The food was incredible! I can't speak enough to pretty much every dish, but especially the lamb tacos. I generally steer clear of lamb, but the server sold me on them so I tried it. The most tender lamb I've ever had. The one food item I might pass on was the smoked mango. Besides that, everything was delicious. Try everything. And the inside has a cool vibe, and their outdoor space on a good weather day is great too! read more
Overall a fantastic Mexican restaurant in Greenpoint! We ordered 4 dishes to share between the two of us and we thought it was more than enough! - Salad:10/10 (fantastic salad! Love love loved the sauce and the crispness of the lettuce. Kind of wished they cut up the salad before serving though, but I understand that it's prettier this way.) - Chicken: 10/10 (the chicken was cooked to perfection! The skin was crispy, the meat was soft, and the crispy rice on the side was fantastic.) - Fish tacos: 10/10 (loved the fish and toppings!) - Tuna tostada: 10/10 (loved the seasoning on the tuna and the crispness of the taco at the bottom of the tuna!) - Spicy mango margarita: 9/10 (solid spicy margarita) Vibe was very casual chic, but it did get noisy because it was so busy. Excellent food, excellent setup, typical Brooklyn vibes, and a very cosy booth setup. Service is top notch, with a very attentive team. Food is definitely on an expensive side, and some of their tacos really live up to that price point. We tried a few appetizers including Oxomoco Guacamole ($19) and the Smoked Mango ($7). The mango lacked a spice kick, and was a little on the sweeter side. Couldn't really feel a smokey taste either. Would definitely visit again and will recommend to friends and family for some fancy Mexican food! read more

11/10 - absolutely loved my experience at Oxomoco! I made a last minute to come here due to my friend's recommendation and I do not regret it one bit! Food: DELICIOUS. Vibes: IMMACULATE. Service: good enough LOL. We got the tuna tostada, guacamole, and for the tacos we got the swordfish and lamb barbacoa. - Tuna Tostada: sauuuur good! The texture of the tuna was so unctuous and the sesame seeds + salsa macha helped with cutting through the fatty tuna and adding some texture. Bonus points for the salsa macha lowkey tasting like lao gan ma LOL - Guacamole: I have never been in a situation where I have way more guac than chips, but the value of this dish is insane. I definitely saved all the extra guac to dip my tacos into. The marinated (?) tomatoes were a stand out as well. - Lamb barbacoa tacos: I would say out of all the items we got, I was probably least impressed by this but it was still a very yummy dish! The lamb was very tender, the tacos were well-seasoned. The lamb was also not gamey at all - I personally like the gamey taste of lamb, which is why I think this dish left less of an impression, but could be a plus for other people!! Generous portions as well - Swordfish taco: Phenomenal!! Amazing!!! I have never seen swordfish on a taco so I defs wanted to try it, esp as Oxomoco is known for their seafood. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. Like everything, the balance of flavours were on point. The seasoning on the outside of the fish created a bit of a crust and provided a delicate spiciness, and the cook on the fish was A++. - My friend also got a drink but tbh I don't remember what he got but he said it was good!! Honestly I could wax poetic all day about this place but I'll end the essay here LOL. Bonus points for having a disco ball in the bathroom if you're a fan of the mirror selfie like meeee!! read more
I've walked past Oxomoco many times before finally deciding to make a reservation. I arrived on a Sunday evening right when they opened, and to my surprise, there was already a line outside. The restaurant is small and cozy, with a mix of tables, bar seating, and a chef's counter. Unfortunately, I didn't find the staff particularly welcoming. One staff member, in particular, seemed like he wasn't enjoying his job, which was a bit off-putting. Now, onto the food! Each taco order includes two tacos. I'll preface this by saying I eat a lot, and despite being warned about over-ordering, I went all in--so here's the rundown: * Chips and Salsa: A must-order! The chips were freshly made, incredibly crunchy, and perfectly salted. The variety of salsas and sauces was impressive, and every single one was absolutely delicious. * Oxomoco Guacamole: A classic and well-executed dish. The guacamole was fresh and flavorful, made with whole heirloom cherry tomatoes and served with a side of chips. * Mushroom Tlayuda: Skip this one. It's essentially a thin-crust mushroom pizza with red sauce, but the flavors didn't work well together in my opinion. * Coctel de Mariscos: This is similar to ceviche and had a tasty, flavorful sauce. However, the portions were small, with the seafood cut into bite-sized pieces. * Swordfish Tacos: Soft, tender, and cooked to perfection. A solid choice. * Shrimp Tacos (Special): Outstanding! The fried shrimp was slightly charred, flavorful, juicy, and absolutely addictive. * Pollo a las Brazas: This was the juiciest chicken I've had in a while, with fantastic flavors. The crispy red rice it was served with was a great accompaniment. It's a generous entree, likely half a chicken, and well worth ordering. As for the drinks, the cocktails were just okay, and the wine menu was limited with not many options. I also noticed that some items listed on the online menu were unavailable in person, which was a little disappointing. Overall, I'd come back for the chips and salsa and to explore more of their taco options. However, it's not a spot I'd go out of my way for unless I was already in the area. read more
From the moment you enter the Michelin Starred Oxomoco the wood-fired grill catches your eye. But it's not just for display, the drum of burning embers shapes the entire profile of the menu. We started with the Kampachi Aguachile - crisp, fresh, brightly acidic and a spice level that was well balanced without being overwhelming. For the main courses we went with the Wagyu Beef Cheeks and the Catch of the Day Tacos. The depth of flavor on the Wagyu Beef Cheeks was out of this world complex - you could taste just how long-cooked and richly textured the boldly seasoned beef was. The Catch of the Day was Sea Bass which had a beautifully charred crust that was again intensely bold from a seasoning aspect. The Oaxacan Chocolate Cake was the perfect ending to the meal. The dense, almost pudding-like cake pair expertly with the coffee ice cream, cajeta and goat milk caramel. Already salivating about my next visit so I can sample around more of the Oxomoco menu! read more

everything on the menu was amazing, portions are on the smaller size considering the pricing, however all items were fresh, well made and with great presentation. the dessert menu is a verbal menu that i believe changes often. only issue was kitchen closes at 10p (yes even on saturday). i made a reservation for 930p and was not notified prior to my reservation luckily i had reviewed the menu prior so i was able to quickly order my items before the kitchen closed for the evening. read more

Everything here was presented beautifully and nothing disappointed! I was on the hunt for some upscale Mexican food and this absolutely delivered. Vibe inside and out is super cool and loved the service we got throughout. Favs were probably the tuna tostada and the porkchop, and drinks were def solid! read more
I made a reservation for a party of 7 on a weekend. I loved how spacious the restaurant felt with ample space in between parties. The cocktails were jumbo size unlike the food. It was a bit more expensive than expected for tostadas and tacos. The chips came with many different salsas of varying spice level. The guacomole was as expected. The tostadas were fresh but cost over 20 dollars for one. The spring pea tlayuda was surprisingly good and unique. I've never had anything like it before. The tacos were good but on the more expensive side given the fancier protein used like soft shell crab and sword fish. The soft shell crab tacos were over 30 dollars so it was 15/taco. I wish there were more toppings on the tacos to complement the protein more. Glad we tried it but not sure if the tacos were memorable enough to draw us back. read more

Well-deserved reputation for not just the best Mexican food in NYC, but also the most unique. You won't find these dishes anywhere else, and they are all delicious. I came here in a group of 4 to share the restaurant's most popular plates and had such a great dining experience! Food: -Oxomoco guacamole: Can't go wrong with this as an appetizer and it was nice and flavorful and smooth. -Punta verde Caesar: Fun take on a Caesar salad. It's served on a chunk of romaine (rather than cut up into smaller pieces) and generously coated in salad dressing. I loved the cotija masa crunch since it added a nice crispy texture. -Lamb barbacoa tacos: Delicious tacos with lamb that was well cooked. -Soya marinated tuna tostada: I was looking forward to this the most and it did not disappoint. One of my favorite dishes. The tuna was so fresh and full of flavor. A bit on the saltier side though but still good -Pollo a las brazas: Another one of my favorite dishes. The chicken was juicy and it was served with crispy rice on the side which was also delicious. Also comes with tortillas and was a generous portion for sharing. The servers were friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our food to come out. They had both indoor and outdoor dining, but the outdoor spots were heated which was nice. Overall, everything we ordered tasted good. However, I don't think I was wowed enough for me to NEED to come back considering the higher prices. But would definitely come back if someone suggested coming here. read more

Food was amazing to say the least. The tacos were surprising. I never thought tacos could have such a high ceiling, but I was pleasantly surprised. Think of the best tacos you've ever had, you can expect these to be two tiers above that. Disclaimer, I only have the flank steak and lamb barbacoa tacos. The Oxomoco guac was also delicious. And lastly the tuna tostada was also incredible. They make their own version of a chili crisp sauce and slather the tostada and the steak taco in it. Service was fantastic and was able to walk in during lunch time. Ambience was also a plus, very vibey and trendy. I would highly recommend this place. Price is a bit high, but I can understand why. everything we ordered here was amaaazing. i especially loved the chips + sauces array (we used the sauces on everything else we ordered too), the crispy rice that came with the pollo (which was a huge portion), the tuna tostada (an amazing bite), and the flourless chocolate cake. we were seated in the cozy covered + heated outdoor area. service was fast and friendly! read more
The best Mexican restaurant I've ever tried. The best tacos that I've ever tried. I got a reservation at 11 AM on a Saturday morning and was pleased to see how beautiful the inside of the restaurant was. The service was good and the menu was plentiful with different tasty options. We got the black sesame Horchata which was amazing, the fresca drink was a bit too tart for me. The guac and chips was amazing! Lots of different flavors and great quality of ingredients. The flank steak tacos were out of this world, so juicy it melted in my mouth. It reminded me of KBBQ. The flavors packed a punch as there was some spice. The pork tacos were better than expected, I was expected it to be dry at some parts but no, it was juicy and the guac along with the other toppings made it whole. Highly recommend this place and would come back! read more
Pretty expensive, but also creative. The tacos are the best part of the food here, and are what make this restaurant worth it. The other dishes I had were good, but not terribly unique. Black sesame horchata - an interesting fusion spin of the classic drink, the sesame adds a nice nutty flavor to the horchata. It's pretty sweet. Carrot tostada - fresh herbal flavors and tartness from pickled carrots. The base is a parsnip puree. The tostada base is crispy and has a distinct corn flavor. It's a bit messy to eat and pretty much impossible to split. Tlayuda - covered in cheese and some vegetables, cilantro, and dollops of a surprisingly tart salsa. Even though it's a habanero salsa, it's not spicy at all. The corn base is crispy, but softens a bit compared to the tostada from all the toppings. Easy to share. Squash tacos - the best dish, hands down. The tacos aren't much to look at initially, but all the flavor is buried under the squash discs. Most of it comes from a creamy sauce and sungold tomatoes. It's rich and has a complex spice blend. Beet tacos - good, but outshined by the squash tacos. They aren't terribly sweet and have a strong earthy flavor. I had trouble getting all the components in one bite because the chunks of beef and carrot were quite large. The queso añejo might have been better crumbled up more. Pan frances - polenta mixed into the dough, topped with whipped cream, toffee syrup, and a compote. The texture of the bread is unique (still pretty crusty and airy), and the toffee syrup makes the dish with nutty, caramelized flavors. Not super different from a regular French toast otherwise. The meal worked out to nearly $200 for two, so it's definitely a splurge. I'd focus on the tacos and maybe the tlayuda, but you won't miss much if you skip the other dishes. read more
Run, don't walk to Oxomoco! This is a lovely spot. It's Michelin rated and I know why. I came in for a quick lunch and tried their version of the Caesar salad along with the frozen margarita with cantaloupe. Their take on the Caesar salad is unique for sure! The romaine is grilled and topped with cotija cheese, chopped poblanos, radishes and this very tasty cotija masa crunch. Yum! The margarita was large and delicious! The bartender, Michael, couldn't be nicer. To finish the meal I had the coconut yogurt with granita, orange segments and basil oil. Oh my goodness! This was really outstanding. Light, fresh with the herbal touch from the basil and special. I would definitely order this again. read more

Beautiful interior, responsive service, and some good flavors. The chilaquiles sauce was flavorful with some dried mole on the side that had a similar flavor to a chili oil crisp. Overall, pretty filling bowl since it's hard to tell how big the portions are based on the photos. Soggier from sauce on the bottom, no real crisp from any of the nachos. The toast with cherries, ricotta and honey was an interesting blend. Probably wouldn't get it again though. Pretty pricey for the experience though, so I wouldn't be back again. read more
Had a great date night at Oxomoco in Greenpoint! The vibe is upscale hipster, and there are plenty of veggie and vegan options. It's definitely on the pricier side, so more of a special occasion spot. Guacamole - ORDER!! Yes, it's $19, but this is no ordinary guac, and it's worth every cent. Red Peanuts - SKIP. They're fine, but not worth it. Market Corn Tlayuda - ORDER. I've never had a Tlayuda, but it's sort of like a delicious fusion of a pizza and a tostada. Gold Bar Squash Tacos - Order if you like squash. The woman at the table next to us was vegan and liked it so much she ordered it again. Flourless Chocolate Cake: ORDER and thank me later. Had an amazing early lunch here yesterday with a friend! We stopped in at 1:30pm with no reservations but they were fairly empty so we were greeted and seated right away. Everyone we interacted with were so polite and professional. They've earned Michelin stars every year since 2019 (except 2020 which I would guess covid). Our entire experience was definitely 5 stars and worth every penny. Andres was our bartender and Joselene (spelling subjective) was our waitress. The ambiance in here is so beautiful. It's very bright with a lot of natural light and the light color way is soft and relaxing. I also love the hanging plants from the ceiling. Can't wait to go back for a date night and also to try their dinner menu. Drinks: we started with the mariachi, which is a mezcal hibiscus drink that was very tasty and refreshing. It didn't taste strong but it's definitely a creeper. Next we tried the spicy mango margarita and the nopalito. The spicy mango margarita was really good but the nopalito was a complete fail. However, the bartender was more than happy to replace it and I got another spicy mango margarita. They also have some fresh brewed coffee/tea options. My friend got the peppermint tea and it came in the cutest "container" that brews in right then. Food: honestly, they seem to use some of the freshest ingredients I've ever had. Like from garden to kitchen fresh, it was amazing! We started with the punta verde Caesar (their bomb twist on a Caesar salad) and the spring pea tlayuda, which is like an open quesadilla - both were soooo good! For entrees we had the pork carnitas, lamb barbacoa, and arrachera flank steak tacos. I don't eat beef so I can't attest to it but they looked good and my friend said they were delicious. The pork and lamb tacos were so juicy and tender, well seasoned, and they gave a generous serving of the meats. The sauces they dress them with just took it over the top. We wanted to sample more items but we were so stuffed. read more

One of the best Mexican places in nyc (and this is coming from someone with a high standard from Texas!) Food -- We came here for brunch and got the chilaquiles, chips and salsa, and the spring pea tlayuda. Between the 2 of us, this was actually plenty of food! Oxomoco, the only Michelin-starred Mexican restaurant in NYC, had been on my must-visit list for a while. I was excited to finally go, but my first impression was a bit off due to some oily plates on our table. We mentioned it to a server, who took them away without much fuss. It wasn't a big deal, just surprising for a Michelin spot. We ordered several dishes to share, joking about needing a second dinner due to the expected small portions. My favorite turned out to be the mushroom tlayuda, which was savory, umami, and creamy--thanks to our server's recommendation. The tuna tostada was fresh with a hint of sesame oil, and the beef tartare had a nice spicy kick. We also tried the lamb barbacoa and swordfish tacos; both were great, but the swordfish was the standout for me. Overall, I really enjoyed the meal. It's on the pricier side, with tacos costing ~$54-58 for two, but I'm glad I finally got to go and we were all so full afterwards! read more
This spot is super cute! We came on a Friday for a 5:30 reservation and were seated outside. My friends ordered these frozen cocktails which were such large portions and looked so yummy. I opted for a mocktail which was really refreshing. As for food, we ordered the chips and guac, tuna and shrimp tostadas, the tuna tartare, the soft shell crab tacos, the lamb tacos, and the pollo dish which came with six tortillas and rice. They also gave us a free salad on the house :) Overall, everything was so yummy. My favorites were the soft shell crab tacos and the shrimp ceviche tostada. This was also a LOT of food for the four of us - we had leftovers for lunch the next day. The service was also super great! They were super quick to told our napkins and really patient with us as we kept yapping so were slow to order and eat haha. read more
Fantastic service but definitely on the pricey side. We came as a group of 8 and were required to get the pre fixe menu for $65 not including tip. This included chips and salsa, guacamole, pea tlayuda, Caesar salad, 1 carnitas taco, 1 carne asada taco, and the chocolate cake dessert. While the salsas were good, they weren't my favorite. The guacamole was extremely good and I think the tlayuda was my favorite! The Caesar salad could be skipped as I don't think it was anything special and it was kind of annoying to have to cut it ourselves. The tacos were also both very good but fell apart instantly and were super messy to eat. The dessert was a chcolate cake (which was more of a fudge with a chocolate mousse and then a coffee(?) ice cream on top. The cake/fudge was good but this was extremely heavy and dense and I wouldn't order it again. It was also off because they would set 3 plates of the appetizers/dessert out in front of us which made splitting some of the items odd as we'd have 2 people share two of the portions and then 4 were kinda stuck sharing the third? Will definitely come back to this place, friendly staff, great vibe, nice music where you can actually have a conversation and very clean. The bathrooms were funny with the disco ball and great art work and layout of the place which ties it all in. Would be coming back soon. read more

I went here on a Saturday evening with a party of 6. We were fortunate enough to grab last minute reservations the week of. The environment is very clean and upscale. Our server was very attentive. We ended up getting the ceasar salad, chips and dip, guacamole, chili mangoes, and tuna tartare for the table. Definitely recommend the salad! It's a bit roasted so has a subtle smoke flavoring touch. The chips and dip came with 5 distinct and unique dips. Guacamole was fresh as well! Tuna tartare was very good. Would also recommend. For my entree: I ordered the swordfish tacos - I thought it was just alright, more on the saltier side. I also tried my friend's Maitake mushroom tacos, and that was also very salty. The tacos sadly were a bit too salty for our liking, but it also seem my other friends in the table enjoyed their lamb barbacoa tacos. I will say the cocktail here are very good and creative, definitely worth ordering! Would I come back? I would! I think maybe the tacos I had was just a bad night and would be willing to give it another try. read more

Okay get this... mind blowing! This is going to be a hard one to put into words as everything was absolutely perfect! My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to get a reservation at Oxomoco (definitely recommend making a reservation) Upon entering the restaurant you are hit with a swanky ambiance that really sets the mood for the evening. The waiters was so friendly and made the best recommendations throughout the evening with regards to menu items. Here is a rundown of what we ordered/enjoyed throughout the evening: Starters: - Guacamole (I have died and gone to heaven with this guac! Must order!) - Chips and salsa (I literally dipped all of my food in these amazing concoctions) - Shrimp ceviche (highly recommended! The shrimp was everything) Main-ish courses: - Grilled eggplant tacos (the smoked Chile salsa was the moment! So good) - Beet chorizo tacos (no chorizo) ( these are a must and have so much flavor!) - Sweet potato tlayuda (I would die for this dish and will dream about it for the rest of my life!) - Lamb barbacoa tacos ( I do not eat meat but my boyfriend has not stopped talking about how great these tacos are! ) Dessert: - Savory carrot cake (yes and yes! I am happily able to say I have been here twice for their Michelin star experience. We tried I believe all their tacos!! Believe it or not my fav was the beet tacos.. my least fav was the lamb, a little too gamey for me. Drinks were good and they offered diff types of tequila for the margaritas. This was my second time at Oxomoco and I enjoyed it significantly more than the first. Non-pretentious, yet still upscale dining. Everything at the restaurant is done really well -- from the quality of the tostadas to the flavors of the meat and fish is just delicious. The tuna tostada is one of the best I've had, anywhere. It's also a beautiful space. The staff members all very kind and helpful. Really awesome to see a spot like this elevate Mexican food while keeping it authentic. read more
