Alaskan King Salmon
Tricia M.

My friend brought me here as a late birthday dinner. We didn't have a reservation and were told we'd have to sit in the bar because they had so many reservations which was strange because there wasn't anyone at tables and some tables remained empty the whole time we were there. But alas, are server we got was great. She was nice and checked in but not overly so. The salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked. The Ol' Cubano is a play on an old fashion but with rum. The only disappointment was the dessert... it was just okay. The texture wasn't very creamy and I'm still uncertain where the brûlée played into it. I would much rather have just had crème brûlée if it had on the menu. Overall we had a nice visit and would come back again in the future.

Everything is great in this place the customer service is great and me and my family love the food! We always eat here around dinner time and we love to order the raw oyster and they are fresh all the time! My husband love the steak and I love the Porcini Ravioli with shrimp. Our kids favorite King Salmon, the price is just good on the quality of the food!

This was our 4th time at Oxbow, we were able to make a reservation online same day which was great. Because it was mostly full downstairs and in the bar. There are 2 TVs in the bar, they had the NFL playoff game on, I wasn't complaining We usually come here to celebrate but it was just a family dinner out tonight. Our kid tried the mussels and ate most of them, she also had a bite of steak and veggies, she got the mac and cheese off the kids menu. We went with the wagyu bavette steak and added rogue blue cheese on top, they loaded it up! The steak was cooked medium rare and they nailed that cook, it had a great crust on the outside and was tender. The chicken sando is something I have got twice now, both times it was delicious. They layer the flavors, from a huge crisp chicken piece, cabbage slaw, pickles, and a spicy sauce it packs tons of flavor. They also have great fries and house ketchup. We tried the tart cherry butter with the bread and that was a nice change from the typical bitters. Overall the waitstaff were super friendly and attentive and made our kid feel special, made silly jokes, etc. If you haven't been here yet, give it a try!

Sunday brunch menu. The service was great and the vibe was Sumner. The menu prices were average with lots of options to select from. We dined near the bar at a table right outside the kitchen. It's definitely worth trying this place out. The food we selected was delicious. We ordered various of plates. One suggestion: side of grilled shrimp said five we got three. For the price it should be five regardless of the sizes of the shrimp.

Was okay...the appetizers were good. The entrees were mediocre. Definitely not worth a $200 bill. Also don't care for that they don't have bathrooms made for just woman.

Dozen oysters and martini.

Great find in Sumner. Excellent oysters and tremendous happy hour every day, even Sat & Sun. Beautiful setting and excellent service, convenient parking. Katya was very attentive and information, great recommendations and service. This was our initial visit, but we will return.

Another amazing experience at Oxbow. Service was amazing!!!! Our server was great!!!! The beef fajitas was sooooook good. I'm definitely going to order again.

Cool vibes, delicious food. Service was great and prompt! We ordered the "not wedge" salad, the brussel sprouts, and ravioli. All were super tasty! The only thing I wasn't too impressed with is the drinks. I ordered the mule and it was meh... especially for $15! Also, they do charge a 4% service charge so just know that. Would def come back again!

Halibut fish and chips

My daughter and I came out to stop by. This place is modern and nice. Parking is great. We were greeted and sat at a table the staff was nice but seemed insincere. I only mention this because I've been in the customer business for over 20+years and you can tell. I appreciate the effort though. So we ordered our food and waited till our food came. Slowly, the food started to arrive, appetizer then entrèes. One of our apps were given to another table so we ended up waiting a bit longer but comped for it. That was very kind of them. Our server kept dropping items. I honestly was t impressed with much of the food. Lacked so much flavor and texture. The best thing we ate was the tart cherry butter for the bread. I ordered the halibut fish and chips and my daughter had the salmon with puréed potatoes and roasted veggies. Hers had the truffle oil which, to me, overwhelmed the flavor of the entire dish. I'm glad we tried it but not sure if I'd return. We'll see...

Best dish - apple cinnamon French toast

This place is on a wild ride. Sometimes we go and the food is excellent other times it is barely edible. I'm not sure if they've been switching chefs or what?

Food was ok, but the staff was rude and the environment was very stuffy. Not really my vibe.

Hands Down the Best Spot in South Hill! I have been here a few times and always leave satisfied…read more If you're looking for the ultimate spot to celebrate a birthday, The Meridian is it! We came here for my friend's birthday and the vibe was absolutely immaculate!!!! Exactly the kind of energy you want for a special night out. Let's talk about the service: Brian and Jason are absolute legends. They took such good care of us and honestly made the whole experience 10x better. They're attentive, super friendly, and just know how to make you feel like a VIP. The bar has everything you need. Reanee is the sweetest and will customize to your hearts desire ensuring your whistle is wet Now, the food... wow. The chicken is straight-up fire, but the real game-changer is the Lemon Pepper SAUCE. I've only ever had the dry rub before at other spots, but having it as a wet sauce is a total revelation. It's zesty, peppery, and addictive... I'm never going back to dry rub again. Amazing food, killer service, and a great atmosphere. If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out. Highly recommend!

I was extremely excited to try this new "speakeasy" that I heard about in Puyallup. In my mind it…read morewas gonna be dimly lit, old school, classy dark-colored furniture, easy listening jazzy music playing softly in the background and a warm ambiance that was inviting, once you stepped in. That's what I picture when I hear speakeasy. A very intimate setting. However, this was completely opposite. It was bright, with a mishmash of decor. I wasn't sure if there was a theme. There were fake plants and a column/pillar with mirrors on it, an Amazon Forrest mural on the wall with televisions up on a couple. Felt like a sports bar. The tables and chairs were your average styled booths, that light-colored wood. It was sooooo cold inside. When we walked in, we were greeted by a nice young lady. She seemed to have a puzzled look on her face as to why we were there. My husband stated we had reservations. So now we were seated. Time to order. Looking over the menu, I see the pricing and was like "ok, a lil higher priced type of menu" I was down to give it a try. We ordered the calamari and zucchini chips for apps and then the butternut squash risotto with scallops (approx $30) for me and the brined chicken ($28) for my husband as well as a side of broccolini ($14). The apps came out first and I was honestly shocked. The calamari were so tiny and the zucchini looked like what they would serve in a bowling alley. Both dishes had the "mama lil's peppers" in it. I'm okay with the portion size but how are you charging $20 for calamari and $14 for the zucchini? Then we received our entrees. Again, we were looking for an elevated dining experience with the pricing of the food, to include presentation and all. I was disappointed to see the cheap cafeteria-like silverware and dish ware it was served on. Now understand the food was good. Not OMG WE ARE COMING BACK kinda good. But mid. Nothing wrong with that but the way they advertise is as if you are about to have a romantic, chill and classy dining experience. It's okay to be mid tier. I won't be mad about it. My dish was not butternut squash risotto, it was a mushroom risotto with 4 mid sized scallops. My husband's chicken was nicely seasoned and flavored and the mashed potatoes it came with, delish. He had caramelized carrots but some were straight black. Maybe a bit much heat. The broccolini was drowning in a cream sauce with onions and mama lil's peppers, slightly overcooked. Needless to say, it wasn't the dinner I was expecting, especially paying almost $200 for it. We did have a couple drinks and those were good. Customer service was on point. The staff were accommodating and helpful. I would kinda expect that since there were only us and another table in the dining room area. I had high hopes but sadly, not the vibe I was looking for. I've been to a fair share of a lil more upscale restaurants and this didn't hit that point for me personally. I think with lower prices and refraining from calling it a speakeasy, it could do well. Just my opinion. Oh they had a lil area for taking selfies available. Thank you for a nice date night with my hubby. We had a chance to have some one on one time together.

Between me & my girl we tried a bunch of different things -- the Texas smoked sausage, guacamole, arroz de la casa, esquite, quesadillas, fish tacos, the 8 oz filet mignon, and the American wagyu burger. Honestly there wasn't a single thing we didn't like. The filet was cooked perfectly & came out on a hot plate. It will continue to cook if you leave it on the plate but they disclose that & give you an extra plate to transfer it to (some people complain about their steak being overcooked but in my opinion that's their own fault lol). The esquite and arroz de la casa were amazing, I'll order both sides every time I come back. Overall it was just a really solid meal. Definitely a place I'd recommend if you're in the Sumner area.
