4.5 stars! Love The Mill! Have been coming here for years and the food is consistently wonderful. Brunch, Special menus for holidays, dinner, cocktails, dessert-it has all been top notch. This is a gem. Menu changes regularly so there is always something fresh and new. Prices may seem a little high for the area but the food and drink justify it. On my most recent visit we got 2 appetizers, two entrees (one was steak with shrimp add on), 3 desserts, and 5 cocktails for $250 which was not outrageous. Portion sizes are great. Food is full of flavor and cooked perfectly. We have sat on the restaurant side a few times but normally sit in a booth on the bar side. There is also a small patio off the bar in good weather. Bartenders are friendly and engaging. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. Only reason I knocked it a half star is the service on the bar side can be slow or feel forgotten about sometimes but it just depends on the time of day and if the bartender is having to do double duty or if they have dedicated wait staff in that area. read more

We wanted to support local and found this place on a local search. They didn't have the best reviews, but my husband and I just wanted a place to nibble on some food and have some drinks before meeting up with other friends. When we walked in, we had the option of going to the bar area or restaurant. We chose the bar. The place was spacious and had ample seating. We sat down and a gal came to our table to ask for our order. She immediately came off as very standoffish, but, all good, we were there to relax and enjoy. We ordered wings to start off with. Mind you, it was happy hour which she mentioned herself. Cool, thank you. The wings were decent but some were soggy. But it's all good. We then ordered an entree and more wings because we were hungry. Did another dozen wings in the buffalo sauce. Our waitress, Kalidawn, reiterating the wings were 2 orders. Didn't make sense but it did in the end as she was trying to separate the orders as "half orders" to charge more? When in reality, it was the same buffalo flavor for the dozen wings so it wasn't a "half order". Really? You're going to do all of that to get you an extra few dollars? She was already rude, dismissive, and bothered from the beginning. We try to look past these things but she was truly excessive. It's like she wanted to make a statement and hated that we weren't regulars. We ended up getting sick after eating here. The service was beyond disappointing and the food sucked, but we also got sick which was the cherry on the cake. We will never be back and hope others think twice. And to find out, Kalidawn is the manager at the restaurant. So don't even bother trying to complain about her horrible HORRIBLE service and attitude. I've lived in the Fife/Milton/Edgewood area for almost five years now and The Mill has been on my radar for a LONG time. I can't believe it took me this long to get in here! The Mill is definitely date night vibes for the area, whether you sit in the restaurant or the bar. We sat in the bar in a cozy booth and had great service for the duration of our meal. They have a stage so it's evident they probably do live music some nights. We started out with the Truffle Fried Brussels Sprouts and those were phenomenal! Truffle is sometimes overwhelming but it was done well here. We love brussels and they were 10/10, would order again! For our main we shared the Lamb Shepherd's Pie which was INSANEEELY good. The lamb was SO tender and flavor was spot on. I prefer my veggies to be a tadddd bit softer, but that's me being picky. Overall was still delicious. I'm so glad we finally checked this spot out and we will for sure be adding it into our date night rotation, especially being so close to home. read more

He was a bit stand off ish but far from rude just not friendly. My son and I ordered steak and my husband ordered the prime rib dip. We waited 45 minutes for our food . Nobody came and said sorry for the wait or anything . Got our food and it was very very mid for being on the spendy side for the steak .After we got our food we never got a how is everything can we get you anything else nothing . The advertising for The Mill Steakhouse & Spirits was sufficiently appealing that my partner and I decided this would be the venue for her birthday dinner with the bonus of trying what to us was a new restaurant. The Matre'd and our waiter, Dave were welcoming and attentive. She-who-must-be-obeyed started with a Caesar salad followed by the Duck served with orzo, blood orange and thyme sauce and candied walnuts. The salad was tasty. As advised by our waiter, portions were plentiful. The duck breast was large and nicely cooked. Orzo was not light and fluffy as we've grown accustomed. The sauce was a miss. Having spent an outsized amount of time in Germany and studied menu before our arrival, I very much looked forward to and ordered the Pork Schnitzel. I did veer from the German theme by ordering a small wedge salad that was appreciated by this diner. The schnitzel was seemingly plated directly out of fryer, not allowed to rest on paper towels and therefore had a bit of a greasy glean. The breading and pork were nicely done. My schnitzel was accompanied by braised red cabbage, spätzle and mushroom gravy. In Germany braised red cabbage is known as rotkohl, a dish I love, have eaten many a time and make to what I believe is near perfection in my home kitchen. The Mill's braised red cabbage would benefit from an additional 45 minutes of braising on low heat and 75% less apples. The spätzle was unremarkable. The thought to include mustard in brown gravy was a good effort but suffered what for me was a bit too heavy a hand with mustard. We most probably won't return for dinner but will give The Mill Steakhouse & Spirits another go at lunch when we'll both order burgers that looked yummy at a neighboring table. Went here on a Friday night, it was super busy, but we found space in the bar. The server was very friendly. She took our order right away, and it did not take too long for the food to be delivered. The wings were absolutely amazing. Great flavor, moist, but yet still had a crunchy skin. The salmon was OK, it could've used a little more seasoning, and I think it may have been a tad bit undercooked. 3.5/5 rounding to 4 We came on a Sunday at 1:20 PM with a group of 12 and the place was surprisingly empty. Even so, it took almost an hour and 45 minutes for our food to come out. That part was frustrating since we were starving and ended up finishing lunch around the time the dinner crowd started coming in. The food, though, was pretty delicious. I had the Mill Burger which was juicy and full of flavor. The fries that came with it were perfectly salted and had fried herbs mixed in that gave them a really nice taste. I also got a side of their homemade BBQ and honey mustard sauces which went great with the fries. The Huntsman Burger was also delicious. It had a slightly gamey flavor which I really liked and it came with a generous amount of mushrooms that were cooked perfectly. We also ordered a side of pickles and they were incredibly tasty. Portion sizes were large and the food quality was great. It is on the pricier side and the wait time was definitely an issue during our visit but the food was good enough that I'd be willing to come back and try it again. read more

Ok so the service is top notch. The prices are wild though. This place is the same price point as Melrose which is diabolical. It's actually more expensive because at melrose the bread AND salad are both included. $5 for "bread service" is crazy. The bread is better and free at 13 coins. That's a much more bougie establishment. And the prime rib...the cook was way off. A stranger even commented that they usually run on the rare side. Half was medium, half was damn there well done. Not kosher at these prices. This would've been a complete flop if not for the quick and timely service. I'll consider giving this joint another shot. read more

Extremely disappointing experience. We were seated at 6:30 PM and waited until nearly 8:00 PM without ever receiving our food. What made the situation even more frustrating was watching the table next to us, who arrived about 30 minutes after we did, receive their meals while we were still waiting. At that point, we decided to leave, despite still having to pay our bill. On our way out, the woman at the front desk offered to get the general manager. When the "manager" came out, it turned out to be the same person who had later brought us our bill. The manager simply said, "Oh, yeah," and pointed us toward the exit. Not only was there no explanation for what happened, but there wasn't even a simple apology for the excessive wait or the poor service. Mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability and basic customer service was unacceptable. We left without ever being served our meal and with no confidence that anyone cared about resolving the issue. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. read more

Well done! The steak fries with rosemary and sage are the best in the region. Had a manhattan (or two) that I'd definitely recommend. Halibut and chips on point. And the Waldorf salad was something to brag about. Earlier visit's hamburger was also worth coming back for. Would have been a five but some fine tuning on the experience would help. More attention to detail on the table would help. Clean under the table lamp pendants and dust the window sill by the tables, for example. This is a fine tuning that restauranteurs sometimes miss. It's an experience issue but the food made up for it. Tiffany, our waitress, could easily make up for any missteps. Spot on service. Thank you. My family and I had a reservation and waited an hour and a half after getting our drinks and bread when we noticed the table that had been seated after us had gotten their food first. Asked if we could just get the kids meal that we ordered since my son was hungry and never received that either. We decided to pay for our drinks since we'd been waiting for more than an hour at this point and left to go find a different place to eat at. My mom and I asked to speak to the general manager about the horrible wait and service, when it turns out the manager was the same rude server that gave us our bill. I love this place! Been going here for a bite when I want to be fancy and casual on my days off! Ray the bartender is always a great vibe along with giving great suggestions. Had a reservation waited zero minutes to be seated but ended up waiting quite awhile for someone to drop by to get a drink going but once the drink arrived a fig cocktail it was wonderful. The pickle jar was awesome the bread was average, highly enjoyed the Seared black cod so tender but that ragu was the star of the show! My friend got the duck which was wonderfully spiced but the sauce overwhelmed the duck. Overall cute place great cocktails other people's servers were pretty awesome ours was ok, didn't even share the specials with us and didn't put in our appetizer but made up for it with a free crème brûlée cheesecake and which was delicious! My friend and I arrive as the doors opened on a Tuesday. The place was warm and inviting. Our server was attentive but we were the only ones there so far. He had a great personality. He let us know what the specials were and brought out our drinks. We ordered the Prime Rib sandwich and the Fish sandwich. HUGE portions but just as delicious. The pickles were homemade. Lots of dill and a kick. I could just eat those... My prime rib sandwich had beautiful fried onion and the au jus was perfect. Lots of umami and just salty enough. Friend's sandwich was impressive. I had really high expectations for this spot but was kind of disappointed. The husband and I went all out and ordered the bacon board appetizer and the Tomahawk steak. The bacon board was pretty good, the apple butter was delicious but probably not worth the $24 we paid for it. One of the bacons wasn't good to either of us. Then after a really long wait with no updates from our server, the tomahawk came out. It was pretty but lacked flavor. We ordered medium rare but some parts were totally raw. Like.... chew on it for 5 minutes raw. The fries were pretty good and the mashed potatoes were dry. I ordered a dirty chai martini and it was heaven. I was out driving around with my wife looking for something similar to this, but for some reason this didn't show up on my maps. When I was sitting at the light I looked over and saw steaks and spirits on the sign and decided that this was the spot. From the second we walked in the staff were super helpful. My wife was having a very bad headache and they were so generous seating us in a darker area, and getting her some water and crackers. So very first I just wanted to give a big shout-out to them. Next is to talk about their amazing food, the waiter pointed out that they ground their own meats everything is produced in house, and they sure show it with the quality of their burgers and my favorite little thing, their homemade pickles. Those things were amazing! The burger was huge too, like half of it could have been a burger somewhere else it was that big. But it doesn't come just with a giant burger it comes with a massive side of fries that I couldn't even finish. Everything tasted fresh, as a direct result of making in house. It was truly an enjoyable experience. Last is the theme. I really enjoyed the Old sawmill feel of it. My wife and I had an interesting conversation about the photos of the Old mill workers and how they never smiled in their photos, and how weird it must be that all of the people in those photos are dead now. but could you imagine being a mill worker in the late 1800s, and then fast forward 120 years and a photo that someone took is hanging off the wall in an upscale restaurant. If they could see that do you think that they'd be super weirded out, I don't know, I just think that if I found my photo hanging in a restaurant 120 years from now I'd be a little weirded out. That's not taking anything away from the atmosphere or the vibe of this place, that's just my weird thinking. it's actually very cool and a great place I imagine to take a romantic date night. The only downside, and I wouldn't really say it's a downside, just something to be aware of, the prices get pretty steep. The burgers we had were reasonable, especially for the size and amount, but I did see a steak on the menu that was over $80. Giving Mill house 4-stars only because they had ONE server for the entire restaurant. Really felt bad for him, but management should have another person helping. The burrito is not for just one person, I would recommend two or three people to eat this huge entree. The filling is steak, cheese, other meats, but it was delicious! Again, not for one person. Drove 2 hours to see the band/duo in the bar. SIRSY was fantastic, just be prepared for Mel to make you cry. Twice. The Mill: Top notch. Friendly staff, and enough staff to run top notch service. We just split a burger and it was great. Sitting center of the bar most of the food passed by my seat. Nothing went by that didn't meet upper tier steakhouse standards. Cheesecake was popular as well. I totally recommend, but look at the Yelp menu pics for prices so you aren't surprised and want to leave a poor review because you are cheap. This isn't an Applebees date night. And for the price I could get 5 for five, five times at Wendy's. I love my double stacks. You come here for a show, you come here for a nice meal. How have I not reviewed this place yet? We have been coming here for many years and always enjoy the quality of the food and service. They would get a five-star review if only their prices weren't so high. We were there this last time for lunch on a Sunday. So I ordered their burrito, I added some sports term thing to it which included extra stuff! Definitely a great choice. Never, have we had bad food here, it's always delicious and this time wasn't any different. My husband ordered the carnevour. I just love their fries, how crispy, seasoned and salty they are! Normally not a huge fan of steak fries but these are great. Our friends ordered burgers as well, including the prime rib dip. They both loved the food. They also started with the pistachio pawns, which I tried and would certainly enjoy getting them again! They have a great selection of beer, full bar, and lots of great drinks. Watch for the prices though, some how my husband ordered a $20 cocktail (twice). If you like live music, they offer that in bar almost everynight of the week.
