Very tasty Pickle Pizza that we got from the SandBar!

I don't go over towards the tide flats, the Port of Tacoma or Brown's Point too often along Marine Drive I believe. I just don't have a whole lot of reasons to go over that way. But on my last jaunt over there which was recently I spotted The SandBar & Grill and looked into Yelp and saw that it had a decent score on their review average and decided to go there on the way back from Brown's Point. Probably what really sold me was their pizza selection. They had a pickle pizza which is not very easy to find but they are surprisingly good. The SandBar's version is very good and we ate it all. The waitress when we asked for it wasn't sure if they were doing pizza that day but thankfully they did. We had mocktails that they had on their drink menu which were good also! The location is pretty cool and we had no complaints. We will definitely be back for the pizza !

Terrific interior and very tempting menu.

Our friend Mel recently started working at the sandbar and recommended that we visit. The decor is very well done, and both the restaurant and bar are spotlessly clean. I like that. Prices are a bit high, but the food is high-quality and the drinks are well-made I understand that the sandbar also offers entertainment and the bar side is very popular for watching the Seahawks, the Mariners, and the Kraaken. You should visit and say hello to Mel. She will remember you and what you drink and she will be sure that you always feel welcome.

service is markedly better than the food, bummer about that. on the plus side there's supposed to be a new guy running back of the house and making changes but that doesn't really help me out today... :-( so it's cold and wet and blowy and I've got several hours until race time so how about lunch? sitting at the bar as a solo so the waitress hands me off and puts on a fresh pot for coffee. I decided on fish and chips after a quick look at the menu and write a couple postcards while I wait. being literally surrounded by water on all sides including up I really expected way more fish on my plate; seriously, between the rivers, lakes, and the ocean there's gotta be more fishes somewhere. also, the cross sectional area of a chip should be closer to a third of a square inch than 1/16 (that's totally a fry.) and please do something about the slaw...

First timers, sat at the bar, bartender was super friendly and accommodating! We came in around 11 on Sunday. We got crab cakes, prime rib dip, and a burger. Crab cakes were crispy on the outside and flakey with crab on the inside. Whatever the dipping sauce that came with it is, was chefs kiss delicious. Prime rib dip was juicy and the horseradish Mayo was a perfect compliment. Hubs dug in on his cheese burger. It was also perfectly cooked. Taps for draft are pretty cool looking and barstools were comfy. Bar is big and we love that we can bring kids in too. We are planning to come back and watch a game on the projector big screen.

Melinda was our server she's gorgeous and a sweet heart. And she was a great waitress. The Capresse pizza was not very good. It was overcooked and not flavorful. 10-19-24, the band wasn't good.

Stopped by for the first time since the new location opened and it was great! The hummus was delicious and the pizza was so good!! If you're stopping by, you definitely need to try any of their pizzas. It is a super fun space and our server was so kind! Will definitely be coming back.

Chicken fried steak and eggs. Buffalo wings.

Situated on scenic Marine View Drive is The SandBar and Grill at 1941 Marine View Drive.Newly opened August 4th, 2023 it offers those enjoying a scenic, historic drive on old highway 509 between Seattle and Tacoma and those that live and work between Federal Way and Tacoma a nice dining experience and a weekend hotspot for others. Surrounded by large screen TVs it gets packed for sporting events so get your seat early. I stopped in for a test of their chicken friend steak and eggs as well as their buffalo wings and was not disappointed. The steak was fork ready and the sausage gravy was top notch and the wings are large and tasty.I will be going there again soon for the next Seahawks game. She recently discovered this place and has been complimenting on how good this place was so I had to check it out. It sits in a very nice neighborhood, in a plaza with other establishment, so there's ample parking spaces. Upon entering the restaurant, you seat yourself to any available tables or booth. The waitress was so nice and extremely efficient, she definitely got it down. I ordered the chicken fried steak to see what the hype was all about from my sister. I have to say that it was probably the best chicken fried steak that I've eaten before. It was crispy, hot and not salty at all. It was perfect. Portions were decent and the price was reasonable. The French toast was sooooo good, it had the right amount of fluff and powdered sugar, it was so good. I would come back here again and totally recommend this place.

On our most recent visit we tried the nachos, and they were honestly the best nachos I've ever had. The cheese sauce is amazing- not some gross canned stuff. The chicken is perfectly seasoned, and the ingredients are layered throughout so you're not stuck with a bunch of plain chips. It feels silly to be gushing about nachos, but they are next level. It's not cheap, but well worth it!

Dirty Oscar's Annex - Disappointing Experience on 6th Ave…read more We came in as a group of seven, and unfortunately the experience went downhill quickly. First, the service was poor and disorganized. One of my friends arrived early and ordered her drink, but it didn't arrive until after I had already received mine -- even after she asked twice. We also had to wait far too long for basic things like napkins and forks because we weren't given enough for everyone. The most frustrating part, however, was the automatic gratuity. At no point were we informed -- verbally or on the menu -- that parties of 6 or more are charged an automatic 20% gratuity. We only discovered it by carefully reviewing our checks. And to make matters worse, the so-called "20%" was not actually 20%. It came out to 24.1%. When we questioned it, the person who said she was the manager claimed "the computer does it automatically." We are a table full of teachers -- and the math was definitely not mathing. We understand and respect gratuity for large parties, especially when the service is great or when it's clearly communicated. But charging more than the stated percentage crosses from poor service into a billing integrity issue. To add to the frustration, there is also a credit card processing fee, which again was not clearly disclosed on the menu and only appeared at the bottom of the receipt. This absolutely should be visibly posted before ordering. They did offer to refund some of the charges, but we declined because it would have taken additional time and we had an event to get to -- and more importantly, it doesn't resolve the core issue of lack of transparency. She also gave each of us a $10 gift card, but again, that doesn't resolve the issue. And honestly, what good is a gift card if we don't plan on returning because of such an awful experience? Overall, this was a very disappointing visit, and not one we would recommend based on service and transparency alone.
