Disappointing. After reading the reviews we tried breakfast at Outro. Walking in, the space looks nice but the music was blasting pretty loudly. The counter is on the left side with two men behind it. You need to order using a QR code at the table you choose. That went well, smooth and easy, though it is kinda impersonal. The latte and black coffee were good, brought out pretty quickly. My wife ordered the ricotta mushroom toast. The taste was reasonable but the bread didn't taste or seem fresh. My omelet was well prepared but really salty. I had to drink a few cups of water after eating it. The men working here were nice enough. The outside space is much nicer than inside, it's possible to have a conversation. It's not really possible inside. The tables and chairs are functional, certainly nothing fancy. Overall, the experience was just ok. We had hoped for better food and a nicer ambience. There are nearby places that we'll return to, but we won't return here. read more

It has a slight spice to it that added to the flavors. The taro foam cold brew was also tasty! This is a nice little coffee and brunch spot a few blocks away from union square that can also serve as a good work from home location or brunch with a few friends. There is a lot of seating in the back (can get a bit dim) but if the weather is nice there is a nice little outdoor patio section as well. Overall been here twice on Friday mornings and there was no issue with seating. There is wifi here but they request that laptops are only in use during the weekdays. There is also a bathroom that is decorated with graffiti. Each table has a QR code so you can seamlessly order anything (you can also order at the counter and the baristas are kind enough to bring it to your table). I got a strawberry matcha both of the times I visited and was a fan. The strawberry flavoring is strong and brings a sweet contrast to the mild bitter taste of matcha. They also put dried strawberries in your drink. The barista nearly decorated each drink. Once they made an error in my order (I got a plain matcha latte instead) they corrected and I gladly enjoyed two drink, which was nice of them. I came in here today for a respite from the snow, and am so glad I did! Their strawberry latte looked too interesting not to try, and sure enough it was fantastic. No chocolate or anything, just tart strawberry syrup perfectly blended with the smooth milk foam and espresso, and some adorable latte art with freeze dried strawberries on top. Came here on a Sunday afternoon. It was a super rainy day, the inside was packed. We ordered at the counter and then looked around for a table. It seemed as though many were hanging around after eating or drinking coffee, so many of the tables were packed, so we had to head outside where they also had a few tables with a covering above the perimeter. As for the bathrooms, there were people not dining at the establishment but waiting on line. The girl in front of us told us they would hold the door open for us because the bathroom had a passcode, but we let her know we were eating there and we knew the code. I got the iced taro latte. The foam on the top had a strong taro flavour. However, once it was mixed into the rest of the drink, the taro flavour was nearly undetectable. The rose matcha latte, on the other hand, was astounding. The rose and matcha latte did not compete with each other. It did not taste like a spritz of perfume like some floral drinks so.
