hadn't been to B Cup Cafe since they moved to their current location on Avenue B. like the new space. plenty of seating options fit into a warm neat sunlit interior that feels upbeat yet chill. had an Americano here a few weeks back and it was just okay. maybe the roast was off on those coffee beans or the bean were ground too fine. anyway, just grabbed a cup of their house drip to-go and it was smooth, warm, and just what i as temperatures in the Fall start to dip. always appreciate good coffee--it is one of life's simple pleasures...and been evolving for centuries and still continues to improve. haven't gotten food here in a bit, but the menu isn't just breakfast items. there's a variety of lunch plates that are served as well as sides. it's very much a cafe, beyond coffee and baked goods. the service is always kind. based on the number of people here during the week, it has a steady flow of regulars which is always a good sign. read more

I'm fighting the urge to not go back to this place every day. Both sandwiches were amazing. I didn't try any of the beverages but there seem to be a lot of people going in and out just for drinks. They have dining only seating accommodated, which is nice for people who just wanna have a quick meal. I would totally come here with my laptop someday. They also have a sofa in the back. Holy moly! Wanted to give 5 stars but it's expensive and the portions are small. However... I'm obsessed with this cafe! I just engulfed their prosciutto sandwich and I'm left drooling. Superb composition of ingredients. I do a little switcharoo and replace the mozzarella with goat cheese. So nice that they allow us to make these substitutions! Sooo on a pressed French baguette, I order prosciutto, arugula, pesto, I add sliced cherry tomatoes and of course substitute the mozzarella with goat cheese. What a flavor bomb! Delivery was lightning fast and my sandwich came so beautifully put together. Not just ingredients thrown onto bread. The cherry tomatoes were sliced perfectly and arranged on the bread in a way where every bite gets a piece (these things matter to me). The quality of the prosciutto is there, the arugula was crunchy and seasoned perfectly, pesto was fresh/packed a nice punch and the bread was of perfect density. Bravo guys! read more

WiFi of course, but also the aforementioned printer, a key exchange box for arbnb users, and you can order your food on their app for easy pickup. No one talks to anyone else, which I notice millennials like, but as an older guy, I can still say hello, how are you to people and they generally return the greeting. Thank you thank you thank you yelp for bringing me here! I've been an East Villager on Ave B for over a year now and have yet to check this place out. In fact, I've never walked by it as it is never on my daily trajectory for work. However, in an effort to stray from my usual EV coffee spots, I stumbled upon B Cup. This place must always be filled on a Saturday morning because the hum of Saturday morning brunchers and hustle and bustle of the staff seemed natural in the colorful space. While the menu is VAST and has a variety of sandwiches, salads, and pastries - I opted for a soy latte and vegan molasses cookie ($8 for both - $4.50 for the latte because I added soy, $4 regularly). The cookie didn't taste vegan (whatever that tastes like) and the latte was creamy and had the perfect espresso silkiness. Only bummer was how hard it was to find a seat, but that's no fault of the place. Next time I'm going to try one of the yummy sandwiches. I'll be back for sure!! read more

Why should you come to B Cup Cafe when you're looking for a place to study? Is it because of the free Wifi that you can use all day (just ask at the counter for the password)? ...no, that's not it. Is it because they play a solid rotation of indie/classic rock that's loud enough to muffle the weird conversation about tarot cards coming from the table next to you, but not so loud that it actually distracts you?* ...nah, that's not it either. Maybe it's because they make a pretty damn good Americano, and because you get to drink your iced coffee out of a huge carafe? Or because B Cup has a pretty chill atmosphere that seems perfect for just hanging out, grabbing a coffee and doing some reading? ...nope and nope (though I do love me a carafe o' coffee). Could it be the quality sandwiches that are served with a side salad and an atrociously delicious balsamic vinaigrette, which are light enough to keep you from falling into a post-lunch coma, ensuring maximum productivity? ...nuh-uh. No, the reason to come here to study is that there's a chalkboard in the bathroom. So after you finish your two carafes of iced coffee and suddenly feel the urge to splurge, you can KEEP STUDYING WHILE YOU'RE PEEING/POOPING. Exhibit A - the attached photo of a rudimentary nephron (which I didn't get to finish because some impatient, unappreciative bastard was knocking. Learn to hold it in, punk. The last couple of times, though, A) the music has been blaring to the point that I needed to throw in headphones and block it out with my own music, and B) we were getting pressured by someone (presumably the owner?) to order like every hour, which got pretty old after a while considering that we were spending more than enough on food/drink even without being asked. So depending on when you come and who's working at the time, it might be more or less full-day-of-studying-friendly. It's also worth mentioning that the prices here are a bit too high, especially for the pastries which are decent at best (blueberry scone was completely meh, giant oreo was OK but nothing I'd go out of my way for). Overall, this is a good place to stop in for a coffee or a sandwich. I initially thought it was going to be my go-to for studying, but considering the price point and the recent pushiness to keep buying things, I'm not so sure anymore. Still, B Cup has got plenty of redeeming qualities and is at least worth checking out. read more
