I stumbled upon this really cute cafe and I love the interior design and layout of this cafe. There are high chairs and small tables with chairs by outlets. There weren't as many drink options as I was expecting so I tried a tea. The staff were nice and I enjoyed the experience at this cafe. Would definitely come back!

A rare gem--this might be the best café in NYC. Gather Café gets it right. Great Wi-Fi, plenty of outlets, and seating for every kind of day: long communal tables, cozy solo nooks, bar seats, outdoor tables. The space is big but still feels intimate--with throw pillows by the window where you can curl up, take a meeting, go on a date, or just be alone. It's the kind of place that adapts to your mood. But what makes it unforgettable? The people. The staff here are next-level. Warm, intuitive, full of good energy. I came in once, and by the next day, they already knew my name. They walk drinks over with no fuss, greet you like they mean it, and say goodbye like they care. That kind of real hospitality is rare in this city--and honestly, it's everything. Everyone here isn't just beautiful on the outside--they radiate something kind. One of them even sings, and her voice is stunning. There's heart behind this place. You feel it. The vibe? Alive but never loud. Calm but not sterile. Clean all day (including the bathroom, which is always a make-or-break for me--and yes, the bathroom even has cool art). I've stayed from open to close, and it was spotless the whole time. The sandwiches? Excellent. Smoothies? A bit pricey but worth it. They serve wine in the evenings too (Thursday through weekends). And the music? Always on point. So is the art on the walls. This is a spot where creatives gather--especially photographers, thanks to K&M next door--so you're bound to meet someone interesting. Whether you're working, relaxing, connecting, or just people-watching, you'll find your flow here. And hey, if you're still hungry after? Scarr's Pizza is literally steps away. P.S. I was deep in my work, completely zoned out--and one of the staff came over and asked if I wanted water. Just like that. No prompt. In a proper glass. Served right to the table. Who does that? P.P.S. Please don't tell too many people. I want to keep this place safe. I've lived in NYC for decades, and this is the only café that ticks every box. Kudos to the team. Kudos to whoever trained or manages this place. Rafaelina and the whole staff--you're what makes Gather feel like home.

The atmosphere is spacious, and the staffs are friendly. I tried the Gather Signature sandwich, and I have to say, it was delicious, especially the sauce. While I wouldn't say it's the most comfortable cafe I've been to - perhaps due to the seats or their arrangement - I would definitely return for a relaxed visit and a simple meal.

really nice cafe planted on Orchard. lots of seating options in the front and back. the modern interior is brightly lit, warm, and really clean & well-maintained. have been here several times to grab coffee to go. really enjoy how consistently made the coffee is...solidly quality brew. don't sleep on the food menu as it has a lot of variety from pastries and such to more ample savory options like sandwiches and salads. tried the "Euromoda" sandwich -- grilled cheddar cheese + tomato slices on toasted sourdough Pullman bread. this grilled cheese is so satisfying -- the bread is good, the melty cheddar, and the sweetness of the tomato. definitely a must order if you're in need of calories. the staff here are kind and round out the experience whether you're getting coffee or something more substantial.

I got a matcha loaf to try which was phenomenal, so moist and strong matcha flavor.

I am SO glad we did. The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! I love how friendly the staff was here and how unpretentious it all was. Next time we are in NYC- we will definitely make a point to come visit Rake!

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

Starting with the positives -the banchan was solid across the board and really flavorful. That said, charging for banchan feels strange to me. Traditionally, it's complimentary, like bread at an Italian restaurant so that part didn't sit right but it was flavorful. The chigae was interesting and probably the standout dish. It had a unique flavor that reminded me of a mix between soondubu and dwenjang chigae which worked well. Unfortunately, the rest was a miss. The bossam was overly salty and didn't feel true to the dish. The tteokbokki was another disappointment -it came with cheese (which wasn't expected) and just fell flat overall. For the hype, I expected much more especially because I've eaten Korean food my whole life. The venue is small and the seats in the back are uncomfortable.
