Yesterday after two errands and quite drenched, I needed a hot cappuccino and a nibble. So I ordered hot coffee and a blueberry muffin. The coffee was warming. While the muffin was tender, it had very few berries in it. It would have been tastier with more blueberries in it. In a neighborhood that's full of National and local coffee chains of coffee shops, this place is a gem. The service is genuinely warm and welcoming, the food is made fresh (I watched these guys *craft* sandwiches, not just make them), and the space is bright and cherry with a lot of seating for us looking for workspace. this cafe is a cheerful little oasis! such a pleasantly designed space to have a cup of coffee, enjoy a pastry sandwich, and even work from. The staff here is next level, friendly and kind. The menu is 10/10. Their pastries are to die for, from the croissants to the donuts to the cheese pies, it is all delicious. I have a hard time picking just one most days. I love CupSoul. This is my Sunday morning stop in between my street outreach with the homeless. I start my day at 4:30 or 5:30, and then take a 15 minute break at 9:45 on that day to grab a cortada and a cappuccino. Sometimes I'll grab a pastry (awesome and delish). I often have my volunteers meet me there because it's such a nice way to kick off that part of my day. The staff is awesome. Friendly. And they absolutely love their clientele, from the babies to the dogs to the humans. It's just an all round great place to start a day or stop off in the middle of it to regroup. read more

A modern and cozy cafe close to union square. It is fairly big inside with many tables, would be a great place to enjoy your coffee while work on your laptop. I want to give this cafe a higher review, but I really did not like my cappucino. It was really watery, and it didn't have the consistency of a normal cappucino. I appreciate that the barista was really nice and helped me pick a drink I would like, but I just don't think the cappucino was for me. I noticed this cafe is really popular so I'm sure they have a lot of food and drinks that are really good, but I personally did not have the best experience. I was so excited for their opening I visited the cafe within hours of their official opening. The exterior is wicked cute but their interior is bright, spacious, and super modern. I go to CupSoul regularly for a coffee and pastry. Yesterday, I went and ordered a latte, a donut and a coffee for my elderly father, who - upon attempting to make room for milk - spilled out a little too much of his cup. When I explained the situation to the barista and asked her if she wouldn't mind topping him off she said she'd have to charge him for another coffee. I don't know about you all, but coffee tastes better in ceramic and any place that doesn't serve their coffee in it is doing their chief product a disservice.
