The first 2 times I've eaten their nacho plate were perfect. Cheese and pulled pork etc were throughout the pile of chips, and nothing got soggy. Two people couldn't quite finish it. So we took my husband this last time to enjoy the best nachos ever. The chips were sogging almost right away. Something was different about the cheese, and the pork was way over salted. I don't know if they have a new cook, but this really saddened me. Naturally the pulled pork sandwiches were also too salty. This is so sad, as I love this restaurant. All three bbq sauces where great The cornbread was just standard on the sweeter side Mac and cheese was interesting. I you get the Mac mixed wit the cheese sauce and that a huge dollop of just cheese sauce placed on top of the already cheese sauced Mac and cheese. A bit over the top and nothing other than velveeta cheese and noodles to cut through the richness/heaviness Jalapeño, cilantro, corn, pasta salad...was excited for this, but there were just too many jelepenos and it takes over the entire dish. Took my daughters here for Fathers Day and it was a good outing. We came late and they had a very busy day, but were nice enough to let us be the last customer. Felt bad about being so late, but they made it a great experience. Ordered a large meal to share with my girls and have left overs. The server gave great recommendations and got all the good stuff we wanted. Made Fathers Day weekend that much better! We all brought dessert home as well. Each time I have eaten here I have kind of walked away saying to myself, I probably could have just spent about the same amount, done it myself better and have leftovers. The restaurant vibe and decor was very pleasing; Country music not too loud. The room wasn't busy even though at lunch hour. The waitress covering it all was efficient, talking minimally and briskly; it seemed a familiar process to her. Not one for not eye contact, but credit is due her for efficiency. The amount of food is adequate and presentation is thoughtful; thin paper towels on tabletop, lightweight thin metal utensils in a paper sleeve. My husband ordered a Reuben made with brisket and coleslaw as a side. The sandwich relied on sauerkraut and cheese to carry the load, the brisket offered little except a saltiness. He liked the slaw. My order was sliced brisket with two sides: mac & cheese & baked beans (my choices). The beans were nicely spiced, a little sweet but I enjoyed them. The mac & cheese was like home leftovers (2-days in) microwaved then topped with an equally tired cheese glob. The combo was dry, not at all creamy or freshly made. It came with two slices of soft (squish-able) white bread and a little tub of sweetened spread. Not a fan of white bread normally, the bread was quite nice and helpful as it turned out. In both dishes the brisket lacked the flavor and savory notes one wants in bbq, appearing to have at best a day's rest from the oven (vs bbq) before a reheat to further parch. It fell well short of satisfactory. We never fret over the price of food if it's really satisfying. We count our blessings at the luxury of a meal when away from home. But to drive miles out of our route, then spend an extra few dollars for upgrade to brisket, it was deflating. Brisket is a cut that should be made flavorful and moist by beef fat rendered to utter succulence. This, from a slow & low process. To find the core reason for the mission (the brisket) dry and over-salted is not the end of the world but is unfortunate. The visit might have been improved with a person to person connection, but that wasn't to be. Efficiency was admirable however. In the final analysis, being pricey didn't enhance the episode. Our lunch for two, no-drinks, no deserts was (if paying cash) just pennies shy of $50. We won't return. Might be a fun sports bar if populated, but a sad place for bbq.. at least brisket. read more

The fried chicken was flaky, moist, flavorful, not too salty or over seasoned...but there's nothing to cut the spicy jalapeños and buffalo sauce (which IS a beurre blanc style sauce; I asked a kitchen crew member but they said, "No, it's just a hot sauce". The bun felt homemade and g.b.d.! I made the mistake of ordering spicy on top of spicy on top of spicy. My professional opinion is order something that won't end up as "a ring of fire" in a couple hours.....JS! Ambiance is fitting, the music isn't annoying or too loud you can't carry on a conversation. One other observation I made is that they take their time training their new team members. As a professional industry loyalist, I very much appreciate that sort of professionalism. Tonight Uber eats had 40% off a $25 order at specific restaurants and Outlaw happened to be one of them. I've been wanting to try them for years and I'm so happy now that I finally have! They had a 2 for $10 sandwich only deal so I got myself the brisket and my son the chicken. A side of fries, 2 dinner rolls and a small side of ribs. I was worried at first that it wasn't going to be enough food for the two of us. I was surprised when I opened the bag: the sandwiches were full sized and oh soooo good. They had the red sauce on them which tasted good. Not spicy and smoky enough. The buns of the sandwich, they had a little crunch to them and just taste delicious. The ribs were good and the char to the end piece was just right. The fry seasoning was on point. Next time I'd like to eat in person. I do not regret this meal at all. read more

I am a fair hand at bbqing, and have eaten some great BBQ all over the country, so I am a bit picky. Especially with brisket. Outlaw BBQ does not disappoint though. The staff here are all very friendly, and work their butts off, great people. It is a very laid back vibe, more like hanging out with good friends than going to a restaurant. Just comfy and welcoming, definitely not fancy. Their smoked turkey is really good too, as well as the sausage. Their cheesy cornbread muffins are AMAZING. Southern style Mac and cheese is pretty good. The price may seem a little steep but you get LOTS of great food for the price. I look forward to coming back here often. My favorite place in Spokane! The best Reuben ever! Half of on essentially all alcohol for happy hour. Very casual. This was the best Reuben I have ever had. The brisket was a perfect match for the SOUR sauerkraut. The toasted bread did not get soggy. Will be hard to go back and try something else and not just get this again. Happy hour is half of on beer and spirits. My $5 Makers Mark was quite the deal. They have some big drinks as well. Clearly this place is for drinking! Definitely will be going back. Took a lot of chewing. I was advised to use a lot of barbecue sauce which I did, but then I was just eating tough, dry meat with a lot of overly sweet barbecue sauce. The baked beans were overly sweet. The caesar salad had unsavory dressing on the side. The soft drinks were $4.85 apiece so I had water. Even though I told the waitress that I, a woman, would be paying for all 3 meals, twice she left meal slips with a male companion. Irked me. The meals for the 3 of us plus 2 soft drinks, came to $115. None of us thought our food was palatable. The corn bread muffin was good. I usually bring home leftovers but it wasn't worth it. I've been to the valley location and they were spot on every time. We split a Two-meat Platter with brisket and sausage, baked beans, mac & cheese, and corn meal muffins. Everything was good. Not great, but good. The only exception was the corn meal muffins. They contained a disc of "impossible to chew" material that we could not cut with a fork. Our waitress said it was a disc of cheese that was under-cooked. Strange. The Q sauces were a slightly sweet/tangy red sauce and a yellow (mustard) sauce that complimented the sausage in the tastiest of manners. Add in a good beer selection and this place is worth repeating (without the UFO muffins). Otherwise, the chili was extremely disappointing (little to no meat, was more of a gravy consistency), the coleslaw wasn't flavorful, and the Mac and cheese was artificial tasting.
