We came across this place when we were searching for dinner one evening while in Spokane. We didn't want anything fancy, but also didn't want fast food. This was the perfect in between! I had heard about this place from a friend, who is originally from the south, so when he was raving about it, I figured it was good. The place is a vibey dive. It has some cool art on the wall that is meant to do just that. They care much less about what you think of the place and way more about how good the food is! The gentlemen who run the place do a really nice job and got our food out to us really quick. They have tons of different options, including some really good hush puppies, some next level chicken and some really good pie desserts. Get there early because, as we found, they do run out of some of the pies. The chicken is masterful! From our time in the south, we learned that you shouldn't have to put anything on your chicken. Here....you don't have to put anything on the chicken! It's juicy, salty, southern chicken at its best. Paired with hush puppies and some fries, this makes you want more and want it now. I felt very lucky that I stopped by Chicken N More while visiting Spokane. Honestly loved it so much I just wished I live closer. The place is super small and cozy, with that comforting local feeling right when you walk in. I had the ribs and chicken tenders, and fries. The ribs were just... ridiculously good, especially for the price. Probably some of the cheapest I've had in Spokane, but still incredibly tender, juicy, and full of flavors. Chicken tenders were also amazing, crispy outside, juicy inside, and perfectly seasoned. Even the fries were addictive. I kept eating more even after I was already full. I really wanted to try more of the menu but just couldn't have another bite because I was too full. Definitely one of those places I'd happily come back to every time I'm in town. read more

The service here is great, the two men working were very friendly and helpful with the menu. There is a good amount of seating inside with an old time wooden interior. The catfish was very very good, hot bbq, and other sauces were great. Mashed potatoes and macaroni salad were lack luster with no flavor. read more

Customer service!!! Granted I called during lunch hour but the granddaughter of the owner put me on hold and helped the customers in house. That's fine but I waited 20 minutes and could hear her not helping anyone for some time. Least she could have done was come back on the phone and get my order since I only have a 30-minute lunch. Had to hang up coz she could not even hear I kept saying hello during that 20 minute wait. Then I called again an hour after to place an order and wanted to make sure she knew I was the person who she placed on hold and never gotten back to but she didn't care like it was a bother that I even called back to place a phone order for a very late lunch since I used up my lunch time on hold waiting to place an order. Instead of apologizing and giving me the "what do you want" attitude with no care, decided not to order and will definitely no longer support this establishment. Very comfortable casual atmosphere, like hanging out with friends. The staff is very helpful and attentive, and very knowledgeable about everything they offer. I am kinda picky about ribs, because I make pretty good ones, but these folks do a great job. Tender and great sauce, very satisfying. I will note the gumbo is kinda underwhelming sadly. The one knock I gotta give is the prices. I understand things are more expensive these days, but the prices here are higher than the food warrants I think. What a dope random find in downtown. First time in Spokane and I was visiting for work from CA. A co-worker and I just wanted food and randomly found this spot. Turns out, they have been around for 30 years! Ordered some chicken wings, ribs, and catfish. Everything was bomb! Chicken wings were some of the best I've ever had. I got the 2 piece chicken plate and upgraded to the larger size sides. I got the green beans, mashed potatoes, and a sweet potato pie. All of it was yummy. Green beans could have had more salt for my preference but still flavorful. Chicken was crispy and juicy and hit that comfort food spot. The sides I ordered were the green beans and the greens/ red beans and rice combo(not on the menu). The prices were a little high but it's the sign of times. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the doors by a very friendly young man behind the counter. The place is little but clean. I like the big old fashioned menu staring you in the face as soon as you walked in. The only minor complaint is the parking. There is none for the restaurant and it's all paid parking but cheap. Didn't have to wait long for the food, but while we waited met a person who comes there a lot. Raves about everything said he had been coming there for years. Once getting the food I could see what the hype was about. It was great bbq with awesome fried chicken. The bbq sauce was tangy and tasty. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy. The gumbo had the perfect amount of spice and the roll was flaky and good. The only downside (and this is strictly personal preference) was the chili had way too many beans.
