Chicken n More is a must stop for me every visit to Spokane. The service is always friendly and accommodating, even if you show up minutes from closing time. I love their greens and the chicken is always crispy and juicy. I wish I lived closer so I could try out their daily specials

Best soul food in Spokane still. Made fresh to order so there is a bit of a wait but you won't find better in town. I've always loved the laid back feel. Don't forget to grab a bottle of bbq sauce to take home.

Most iconic and best food in Spokane if not the country if not, the world not the universe... Bob and his staff treat you like family and the food is beyond measure...

The brisket with slaw and greens.

You might miss this place as you walk by, but it is a great go to for to go food. I grabbed lunch on the run, and they were quick. The brisket is fantastic! I got the slaw and greens as sides. Both were very good. Beyond the food, though, the man behind the counter taking and delivering my order was excellent at customer service. He was helpful, knowledgeable, pleasant, and encouraged me to come back and try it again. Definitely will!

Great service and always tasty southern food. Cozy little restaraunt. Highly recommend the catfish dinner!

Oh. My. Stars. This place is the real deal! I had the brisket sandwich and my husband had the chicken and rib combo with two sides, collard greens and macaroni salad. The meats are smoked to perfection and the sauce has a slight bit of heat. If you like collards greens they are not to be missed here! Three generations work here and the owner Bob is regionally famous. So authentic.

What a dope random find in downtown. First time in Spokane and I was visiting for work from CA. A co-worker and I just wanted food and randomly found this spot. Turns out, they have been around for 30 years! Ordered some chicken wings, ribs, and catfish. Everything was bomb! Chicken wings were some of the best I've ever had. Catfish reminded me of those I had in New Orleans. So fresh and good. Amazing spot. Great job everyone. Loved it.

So delicious! Eat here if you can!! I got fried catfish, greens and red beans and rice. My friend got fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Nice amount of i on the sides. Crust was crunchy and delicious on the fish and chicken. Service was friendly and capable. It has a cozy, small dine-in area.

Came in here as it was a suggestion. Great spot and great service. The fried chicken was fresh and very good. If you are in the mood for Fried Chicken than this is the spot!

Good service. Decent chicken. The rest of the food left a lot to be desired. Red beans and rice was way too salty and not good at all.

Fried chicken was excellent. You can only eat indoors or take it to go. Hot & stuffy inside; not sure they had any a/c. Best to take out.

How spicy is the fried chicken, compared to something offered from a chain restaurant? I love spicy but my wife has allergy issues with even mild peppers.

There is no spicy chicken, it's all fried chicken

What we ordered: * Whipped Honey Cornbread: Seared edges, whipped honey butter, and scallions. Honestly addictive. Sweet, buttery, slightly crisp on the outside and soft inside! I just can't stop eating them * Hush Puppies: Served hot and crunchy with Louisiana Come Back sauce. Simple but really well done, especially with this dipping sauce. * Poached Pear Salad: Sweet poached pears, with a nutty flavor from candied pecans and dried cherries. I don't like goat cheese so I just pretend it didn't exist Light but flavorful, with a nice balance of sweet and tangy to pair with 2 heavy dishes above. * Voodoo Pork Chop: My main dish, I was surprised with the huge portion (10oz chop), served with collard greens, creole sauce, and sweet potatoes. Pork was incredibly tender and juicy, a bit salty but this is one of the best ones I've had in a while. It honestly felt like two servings and is definitely shareable. The space is beautiful with eclectic interior design, warm lighting, and a staircase that gives the whole place a nice vibe for dinner. The inside as shown in my picture is very charming and old timey. Allow time to wait for a table unless you are just one or two like I was and able to grab a seat at the bar. I was able to sit immediately. The staff is very amiable and the hostess made the recommendation that I try the Caprese Benedict, which had fried tomatoes in place of bread, fresh basil and blood orange balsamic drizzle. They offer the option of one or two Benedict, which is nice if you aren't super hungry. They also give the option to smother the hashbrowns and cheese, which I obviously opted into. The menu is absolutely massive though, so if Benedict's or even breakfast aren't your jam, you should be able to find something that suits your fancy. Also worth noting that they offer a very wide variety of gourmet flavors of house-made juices (7 or 8) for mimosas, like honeydew melon mint which I tried as a soda with soda water since I was driving.

Honestly, Wooden City really lives up to its hype. It's an upscale spot right in downtown Spokane,…read morebut still feels warm and lively instead of overly formal. Definitely one of the best-quality restaurants in the city, where every dish was thoughtfully made and packed with flavor. What we ordered: Starters: - Spring Salad: Super fresh and well-balanced. The snap peas were crisp, with strawberries added for sweetness, and the goat cheese + pistachios gave it a creamy, nutty contrast. The lemon & tarragon vinaigrette tied everything together with a light, herby flavor. - Jerk Cauliflower: Crunchy cauliflower with Caribbean spices with a creamy jerk sauce, good as a side Appetizers: - Peel 'n' Eat Shrimp: Really juicy and spicy from the Cajun spice. There's butter to dip in but I found it too greasy and prefer lemon instead. - Blistered Hungarian Peppers: Smoky pepper with some sweetness and savory from the sausage and cheddar. Served with a toasted focaccia that soak up all the sauce. Main dishes: - Chicken Schnitzel: One of the must-orders. Crispy, golden breading, super tender inside. The lemon & caper butter sauce added acidity and richness that elevated the whole dish. Yoy have to order extra because it's never enough for the table. Yes, it's that good. - Marbled Duroc Pork Chop: Another favorite . Juicy and tender, with 'nduja salsa brava bringing a spicy depth, while lemon tahini and marcona almonds added creaminess and crunch. I always missed tasting this dish like my first time - Beet Ravioli: Earthy and slightly sweet flavor, nice texture but I hate goat cheese so I'm not really a fan of this dish - Pesto Bacon Pizza: Delicious crunch, loved the combo of mozzarella and gorgonzola, kind of creamy with a bit of funk. Balsamic do help balance and gave it a sweet tangy flavor, or else it would be too heavy for me (yes, not a pizza fan) Drinks & Dessert - Not Mai Tai mocktail: very aesthetically looking drink, but a bit too sweet to my liking - Apple crisp: cozy and warm, with baked apple & pecan crumble and served with vanilla ice cream on top. Delicious ice cream. - Pumpkin cheesecake: My 3rd favorite of the night, I still dream about it!! Rich, smooth, and perfectly spiced, you shouldn't skip this!!! That said, I do have to take away a couple points for timing. Our foods took 45 mins to come out even though I had reservations and note the menu items via the email, and the wait time between each dish was also... very confusing. It broke the flow of our meal. But once the food hit the table, it was hard to stay mad, so I forgave them.

I feel like I just went to a dress rehearsal about a play about a group of friends who got together…read moreand said "How about we open a restaurant? That would be fun!" Tonight was just so strange. First, I had no idea who was an employee. There were two girls that were going around together over and over, they kept stopping at tables so I think they worked there...but they never had anything in their hands. Our server seemed to keep forgetting we were there. Or just forgetting she was employed in general. Seriously just not with it. She was very nice...when she remembered we were there. I will say the pizza crust tasted amazing. So many places that serve pizza think of the crust as just something to put toppings on, but this had great flavor. Sadly, it was rolled too thin and said toppings made it somewhat soggy. Caesar salad was ok. Romaine was really fresh and crisp and the homemade croutons were still a little warm. Very good. However, the dressing was rather bland. And when I asked for pepper for it, our waitress first had it in her head that I expected some kind of peppers on my salad. When she finally understood I meant black pepper, she went away. Eventually she returned. Not with a pepper grinder or a shaker, but a sauce bowl that had about 3 tablespoons of black pepper in it. I wouldn't use that much pepper if I cooked for myself for a week and used it with every dish. Had to ask for knives for some of people's meals. I will say the spicy lamb rigatoni was amazing, pasta just right and the sauce and flavor was peak. I am just not sure what to say, other than this was the strangest and most disorganized dining experience I have ever had. I think if a grown up showed up and brought the kids into line, this place would be amazing. Also, for what we paid, I expected to be wowed, not left wondering what I just experienced.
