Very overpriced. $36 for this sad meal. Very long wait. Pulled pork was mushy. I have never in my life had pulled pork like this. Gross. Corn was nasty. Basically just duped from a can. Hush puppies were slightly above average. Ribs were very tough. Sauce is poor quality. I would never eat here again. Barely any meat on the ribs. Pathetic meal.

Brisket sando is good.

Mostly good food, friendly service, prices high in some cases Well the meat is good. Brisket yes. Not too fatty or salty and good taste Pulled pork was well pulled, nicely smoked, a little too salty. Would have loved bbq sauce on it Beans are good and of the vinegar, not molasses type Sweet corn is sautéed and good Salad with meat in it -- it's supposed to be chicken Caesar. They were out of chicken so I got brisket, which was fine with me. The lettuce part of the salad is about 2 handfuls of greens. They have a bottled Caesar in a cup on the side. Also croutons and a few onions. For this-- the vegetable part-- $14.50. That my friends is too much. I am not one to complain about a $20 sandwich. I think it's fine the plate of meat with 2 sides costs what it does. The salad price is not in line. Now added to that $14.50 is another $2 for chicken and $3.50 for brisket. Now I have a $17.50 salad. Nope. Pricey. Bathroom grade: A- 2 single serve gendered restrooms, clean, ADA accessible . They have a male and female sign left over from the prior Thai restaurant. Let's get rid of those and make both of them all- gender bathrooms to show you welcome diverse folks ( and also it makes the lines move faster) I would return to try their fried chicken sando because I do like to try those everywhere, and I'd get a plate here again, but no on the salad

Taco Special

have gone to this place several times now and really do consider it the best Smokehouse and BBQ joint in Spokane County! I, 10/10, recommend trying it out. The Owners Omar and Dee are hands down some of the nicest people you will ever meet! The story of their business is amazing to hear about from their perspective. They are a true family-run operation and service up authentic North Carolina cooking! Now! The Food... it is fresh, succulent, and delicious! Their tacos aren't on the list of favorites you can include in this review but WOW! they are good! I am a huge fan of their brisket and pulled pork and like ordering the 3 meat option (the chicken is normally my other meat choice with the brisket and pork) and add sides. The Slaw, Okra and Beans are so good! while you're at it you have to order some of those hush puppies too!! The meat has a great flavor and you can enhance that with the sauce if you want but it isn't required to make the food taste good - their cooking does that on its own! I will have to find some pictures of food and add it to this review just so you know what you missed out on if you haven't allowed yourself the pleasure of dining here! This place is AMAZING! Parking: Big open parking lot behind the restaurant

Chicken Sandwich and fries

I realize I didn't have ribs, but what I did have was less than par. What I was hoping to be amazing, turned out to be underwhelming. As it is, this place serves House breaded chicken and House made french fries. From my experience this is not something you just jump into. There's a process that needs to be done in order to have decent food come out. While my chicken was hot, the breading on the chicken was flavorless. The bun was a McDonald's sesame seed bun and the french fries were not done correctly either. They were soggy wilted and burnt. Definitely not worth $23. From what I can gather, they just cut up potatoes and threw them in the deep fryer. That is not the correct process for cooking fresh french fries. The potatoes need to be cooked first and then deep fried upon ordering. Growing up in the restaurant business, I know how, this stuff works so I believe I know what I'm talking about. Also, I find the takeout fee to be ridiculous as well. $1.50 I sure hope you're not charging me $1.50 for the bag and then expecting a tip on top of it. Unfortunately, I won't be back, for what I was hoping to be a repeat for the chicken sandwich ended up, for me, a first and last visit.

Pulled Pork, baked beans, and corn.

Honestly, Wooden City really lives up to its hype. It's an upscale spot right in downtown Spokane,…read morebut still feels warm and lively instead of overly formal. Definitely one of the best-quality restaurants in the city, where every dish was thoughtfully made and packed with flavor. What we ordered: Starters: - Spring Salad: Super fresh and well-balanced. The snap peas were crisp, with strawberries added for sweetness, and the goat cheese + pistachios gave it a creamy, nutty contrast. The lemon & tarragon vinaigrette tied everything together with a light, herby flavor. - Jerk Cauliflower: Crunchy cauliflower with Caribbean spices with a creamy jerk sauce, good as a side Appetizers: - Peel 'n' Eat Shrimp: Really juicy and spicy from the Cajun spice. There's butter to dip in but I found it too greasy and prefer lemon instead. - Blistered Hungarian Peppers: Smoky pepper with some sweetness and savory from the sausage and cheddar. Served with a toasted focaccia that soak up all the sauce. Main dishes: - Chicken Schnitzel: One of the must-orders. Crispy, golden breading, super tender inside. The lemon & caper butter sauce added acidity and richness that elevated the whole dish. Yoy have to order extra because it's never enough for the table. Yes, it's that good. - Marbled Duroc Pork Chop: Another favorite . Juicy and tender, with 'nduja salsa brava bringing a spicy depth, while lemon tahini and marcona almonds added creaminess and crunch. I always missed tasting this dish like my first time - Beet Ravioli: Earthy and slightly sweet flavor, nice texture but I hate goat cheese so I'm not really a fan of this dish - Pesto Bacon Pizza: Delicious crunch, loved the combo of mozzarella and gorgonzola, kind of creamy with a bit of funk. Balsamic do help balance and gave it a sweet tangy flavor, or else it would be too heavy for me (yes, not a pizza fan) Drinks & Dessert - Not Mai Tai mocktail: very aesthetically looking drink, but a bit too sweet to my liking - Apple crisp: cozy and warm, with baked apple & pecan crumble and served with vanilla ice cream on top. Delicious ice cream. - Pumpkin cheesecake: My 3rd favorite of the night, I still dream about it!! Rich, smooth, and perfectly spiced, you shouldn't skip this!!! That said, I do have to take away a couple points for timing. Our foods took 45 mins to come out even though I had reservations and note the menu items via the email, and the wait time between each dish was also... very confusing. It broke the flow of our meal. But once the food hit the table, it was hard to stay mad, so I forgave them.

I feel like I just went to a dress rehearsal about a play about a group of friends who got together…read moreand said "How about we open a restaurant? That would be fun!" Tonight was just so strange. First, I had no idea who was an employee. There were two girls that were going around together over and over, they kept stopping at tables so I think they worked there...but they never had anything in their hands. Our server seemed to keep forgetting we were there. Or just forgetting she was employed in general. Seriously just not with it. She was very nice...when she remembered we were there. I will say the pizza crust tasted amazing. So many places that serve pizza think of the crust as just something to put toppings on, but this had great flavor. Sadly, it was rolled too thin and said toppings made it somewhat soggy. Caesar salad was ok. Romaine was really fresh and crisp and the homemade croutons were still a little warm. Very good. However, the dressing was rather bland. And when I asked for pepper for it, our waitress first had it in her head that I expected some kind of peppers on my salad. When she finally understood I meant black pepper, she went away. Eventually she returned. Not with a pepper grinder or a shaker, but a sauce bowl that had about 3 tablespoons of black pepper in it. I wouldn't use that much pepper if I cooked for myself for a week and used it with every dish. Had to ask for knives for some of people's meals. I will say the spicy lamb rigatoni was amazing, pasta just right and the sauce and flavor was peak. I am just not sure what to say, other than this was the strangest and most disorganized dining experience I have ever had. I think if a grown up showed up and brought the kids into line, this place would be amazing. Also, for what we paid, I expected to be wowed, not left wondering what I just experienced.

We had a big group dinner here with a set menu…read more The cocktails are lovely, I got some sort of spritz. Everything is really great but also HEAVY. On the set menu were: -Truffle Ricotta Toast -Lemon Pasta (Limone) - super lemony, pasta is obvously fresh -Vodka Pasta (All Vodka) - so cheesy and yummy -Steak - I love fatty so this was wonderful -Chicken Parm - Can't really go wrong with this one Staff were lovely. The interior of the spot is so gorgeous - I love the blue-gold color palette and the vintage decor.

The ambiance is lovely. Good wine, interesting cocktails, freshly made focaccia ( at $14/ serving…read more-it should be) salads are tasty. But this restaurant is very pricey for inconsistent food. We've been twice now- didn't love it enough the first time but wanted to give it a second chance. The lemon pasta was divine the first time- but my carbonara was unflavored paste- I literally thought I had COVID and lost the ability to taste food but everyone else's food tasted good so that theory didn't hold up. This time I ordered the lemon pasta and instead of creamy, delightful and tasty it was a little bland and watery. The waitress "fixed it " by offering me more Parmesan to thicken it. I'd added prawns- they were nice. My companion ordered the veal parm- the tomato sauce wasn't amazing and the breading was a bit heavy. He wasn't impressed and didn't finish the dish. The risotto was just OK. Again, it's very pricey for just OK. The food isn't trash but if you've had great food you don't want to pay so much for just ok. We would rather spend the money at Luna or Francaise or Wooden City. Dessert was yummy. The first time we went we arrived first seating and it looked like the AARP theater crowd, the last night we went seemed like a galantine's preview! So if you're there for the drinks, appetizers and ambiance it's quite nice. I can't endorse it whole heartedly because the entree's weren't consistently good enough to give the full 5 stars. Service was fine and we tipped accordingly. Good luck!

I tried multiple dishes, all delicious and very comforting. Hightlights including spicy fried chicken, crispy, well-seasoned on the outside, juicy inside, a perfectly balanced sweet-spicy glaze. Kimchi pancake was another favorite: crispy and slightly chewy center, and had a bold, tangy flavor. For main dish, I had spicy stir-fried chicken not as wow as the 2 other dishes but it's well seasoned and pairs really well with rice and side dishes. One of the free banchan was spicy braised tofu, very delicious I had to ask for more, cause it tasted so good with rice. The space is casual but comfortable, and service was quick when we got there. Portions are generous for sharing. What i love most is that it's right in downtown, so super convenient to get here then shopping. Overall, it's a great spot when you're craving comforting Korean food in Spokane. I'd definitely come back to try more dishes.

But honestly ambience isn't too big of a deal for me. I got the sundubu, a beef stew. It was hearty, spicy, and sweet which was interesting I would say. There was green onion, tofu, eggs, and ground beef which I don't think is traditional but doesn't really matter to me. The black rice which was served on the side was super good with the stew and cut the sweetness down which was very much necessary. It wasn't my favorite in all honestly. The chicken katsu curry was good. The curry was good and smooth. The chicken was crunchy and had the nice flavor. The bulgogi was really good! The meat was tender and sweet. The black rice that was served on the side paired well with it. The spicy chicken was tender and juicy. The sauce was sticky and spicy. The outside was crisp and saucy. The snow crunch chicken was cheesy and sweet. My mom thinks it's mac and cheese powder with a bit of sugar, but I will say it was interesting and not in a bad way. (Looking back a lot of the food and drinks were overly sweet.) The drinks were... okay at best. The corn latte, I've had before were absolutely delicious! But this round was sort of just good. The flavor of the corn was too pronounced and there wasn't enough sweetness so it tasted like corn with milk. Last round there was also some sort of corn cereal and there wasn't any this time. The fresh strawberry milk was the best drink by far! It was refreshing and really natural. The dalgona latte was overly sweet and too artificial for me. The yuzu cider isn't a hard cider. I learned that apparently I do not like yuzu as it is much too bitter and pithy for me. All in all I would give the food two stars because it was so pricy and our serving were very small for how much it costed, but our server was great!
