OOUTRAGEOUSLY DELICIOUS FOOD! Much much Mo than delicious fried fish and chicken! They got you if you're on a budget or trying to have a sit down meal. The most magnificent dipping sauces, and IN HOUSE made coleslaw. The care and time put into the menu is something else, the specials? SUPERB! The atmosphere, quiet and friendly, down to earth but precise and professional with the orders. Worth the stop, yesterday, today and maybe this weekend. You won't regret it! Don't forget your beans and greens! I definitely did NOT get food pictures because once they set it down I dropped my phone and ate it alllllll! TLDR: Worth stopping in and especially this area right here you'll spend less than McDonald's and be soooo happy you did!! Let's support this local business! -That Ginger*** NY/HI

I had heard about this place from a friend, who is originally from the south, so when he was raving about it, I figured it was good. The place is a vibey dive. It has some cool art on the wall that is meant to do just that. They care much less about what you think of the place and way more about how good the food is! The gentlemen who run the place do a really nice job and got our food out to us really quick. They have tons of different options, including some really good hush puppies, some next level chicken and some really good pie desserts. Get there early because, as we found, they do run out of some of the pies. The chicken is masterful! From our time in the south, we learned that you shouldn't have to put anything on your chicken. Here....you don't have to put anything on the chicken! It's juicy, salty, southern chicken at its best. Paired with hush puppies and some fries, this makes you want more and want it now. The ribs were another must have. They were absolutely delicious! Falling off the bone and saucy to boot! Go here. Go early. Go chicken!

I had the Brickhouse burger and my husband had the prime rib, beef dip. We met the owner and he said that he slices the meat for each sandwich. My husband requested thin slices and that is exactly what he got. I had a bite and it was delectable. My Brickhouse burger was amazing. I had a medium rare and the bacon mushrooms, and all the toppings were wonderful. No complaints, only praises about Torby's. They also have a little patio that will visit the next time. It's a little bit rainy today so we're inside watching sports. I wish they had a little area with darts or something like that but you can't have everything! All in all, I give it five stars!

The indoor restaurant is nice with tables and booths and we were greeted with a friendly welcome and told to sit anywhere. In nice weather we always opt for outdoor seating and they have a nice patio but I have to say it's right on Sprague so it's noisy. The draft beer selection is limited but they had an IPA for the hubby and Alaskan Amber on tap for me so we were happy. I ordered the meatloaf sandwich (as recommended by our waiter) with a salad and he had a hamburger and both were excellent. My meatloaf sandwich was served on toasted bread and truly tasted homemade. My husband loves a good burger and his didn't disappoint. He likes a straight burger with onions that are not cooked and he said this was right on. But the star of the meal was the tater tots! They were well seasoned, crunchy on the outside and tender inside. We'll be back later when it's not warm to enjoy their indoor seating. It's good to know some great options in the valley.

The Staff was super awesome and I placed my order and I felt like we didn't sit long to get our orders. We got our orders and the food smelled delicious and awesome so we dug in. I loved the little cucumber salad it was like a pallett cleanser and the little mac salad was pretty good as well. The sauce for the noodles was just super awesome and I ordered chicken as my protein and was cooked to perfection and the noodles didn't seem over or under done. Everything complimented each other and just even smelling the dish put the entire playe together. If you're going to be in the Spokane area, run and don't walk to Island style food & bbq you will not regret it and you'll get your moneys worth as well.

After making our first choices we were really impressed how quickly the meats and other items we choose were delivered to our table. I wish I had asked our servers name so I could give him a huge shout out! He was very friendly, excellent at explaining the process. He also checked back frequently to see what we needed more of. There were many choices of meat and vegetables, sauces and sides. Everything very fresh, well seasoned and marinated. I liked the garlic chicken and the brisket the most. The bulgogi beef, carne asada beef and miso chicken were also favorites for our group. The kimchi was some of the best we have had in a long time and the vegetable and kimchi pancakes were crunchy in the outside and soft on the inside, both were good but we liked the kimchi one better. The restaurant was very clean and decorated nicely. Every staff member that we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. This was a great special occasion treat for us.
