I wanted to so love this place, but unfortunately the food didn't meet my expectations. I ordered the full rack of ribs with a side of bbq beans, potato salad, and two muffins. The bbq beans and the muffins were excellent. The muffins were hot and fresh and the beans had a great flavor to them. The potato salad on the other hand was dry and I could only eat two bites. Now for the ribs, the ribs are meaty and a large portion which was a pleasant surprise. Eating the first two ribs I was really enjoying the taste and the pull to they had, but once I bit into the third rib my opinion changed. What I noticed on the third bite was all the smoke flavor was in the bbq sauce and not the ribs themselves. I made sure not to use any sauce on the fourth rib to confirm my suspicions and the smoke in fact was the sauce and the ribs tasted plain as if they were boiled when the sauce wasn't on top. It was our first time trying out Outlaw BBQ and it was a nice cozy place with an old school feel. They had many items on the menu but I went with Texas Frito Pie. This plate was pretty big and I loved the flavor of it and if you're hungry this is all you need for 2 people and I got Mango Peach Lemonade to drink and it tasted pretty ace I loved it. Excellent ribs and decent pulled pork. Friend said the tacos were excellent as well. Cornbread wasn't too sweet. Coleslaw is fantastic: almost no dressing or sugar so nice and crunchy. Sauces are limited to two but both tasty (mustard based and traditional). My only complaint overall is the Mac and cheese which had nacho cheese sauce over the top. Yuck! But the pickles were great! Also be aware substitutions often create an up charge. Mains average 20$ so it is not cheap BUT at least my two meat -- I finished my two ribs which were meaty and not fatty and barely made a dent in the pulled pork and I'm not a small person. Everyone has an opinion, I have one too, Outlaw is an overrated and overpriced when it comes to food choices. Example is their tacos....way overpriced and not good at all, just a pile of overcooked, VERY dry brisket that probably was to be trashed at closing. Never had such a bad tasting dish, three bland tortillas and meat not fit for our daily feeding of our pet dogs. Then a $20 hamburger witch joking they call Mac & cheese special, just another attempt at originality, dry meat, crusty sliver of macaroni fried to crisp and uneatable . The best and only exception was the fries, which were excellent. This is only my take, but should be taken seriously if you want decent food, quality meats, they come up short as good restaurants should, maybe a good. Really nice people worked here. we were on our way to airport so they packed everything nice for us. was able to buy a pound of cold brisket so it arrived safely. I'm very picky with my BBQ but I love this place!! My favorite dish is the pulled pork nachos, everything about it is amazing! I've eaten here about 3 times over the last 5 months and it has always been consistent. My partner gets the pulled pork platter and agrees it is so flavorful. Also they keep extra bottles of their homemade BBQ right on the table (along with paper towels and wetwipes) Also, their cheesy corn bread (with sweet butter) is AMAZING! Make sure you get an extra order! They also have great looking desserts but I haven't been too overwhelmed with the flavor of them.. but to be clear, they are far from bad. Lastly, I prefer the Valley location as it is bigger and quieter compared to the Wellesley one, but both have great food. You call this BBQ? There's absolutely NO smoke flavor at all. The brisket was dry and had ZERO flavor. I mean Z.E.R.O. I've had Texas BBQ and I really cannot compare BBQ outside of Texas so I don't have really high standards (unless of course I'm in Texas), so I wasn't expecting it to be on par with Texas BBQ, but I DID expect it to be moist, and have a smoky flavor. This was over cooked (and not very well either). A little seasoning folks, if you can't make it taste like bbq at least make it HAVE a taste. Same with the Cole slaw. NO flavor. We are from out of state visiting family. Our Uber driver recommended it since it was within walking distance and our hosts were out to a concert when we arrived. Not sure why she recommended it. Fries were way over seasoned, bacon ranch potato salad had absolutely no flavor which was strange and the sausage was dry and sautéd in a tangy mix of sauces/seasonings. The important part is that the brisket was very delightful. With that being said I think this place has great potential and would do better if the sides were addressed immediately. Great food, great atmosphere and very friendly staff. We were in town for a football camp at A local university, and we asked round as to where is a good Bar B Q place for dinner that day. We were not let down. Large portions of very tasty meats, corn bread, desserts etc. if in Spokane, give it a shot. My 17 year old son had to labor to consume the whole Wrap with its bulging amount of meat, cheese, beans etc. my 3 meat plate was just as jam packed and very flavorful. If you can somehow save a small bit of space in your belly, go over and look at all of the fabulous desserts. It may have almost put us in the hospital, but it was very much worth it. We went to this restaurant at the suggestion of a friend. There were 4 of us eating. We ordered the XL Outlaw Burger, the Brisket Reuben, the 1/2 rack Ribs, and a Baked Potato with Mac and cheese for my no meat eating daughter. The burger was good. Huge, only complaint was it had too much cheese. The seasoning they put on their fries made them awesome! The Reuben, my son said, was a unique approach on the Reuben (which he loves.) As they use brisket instead of corned beef or pastrami. He did say that when he had a bite of the burger, it was better. But he DID like the sandwich. The red barbecue sauce they used on the ribs is INCREDIBLE! I even tried the yellow sauce and it was good as well. I would have been happy to use either one. I got the bacon potato salad and a ceaser salad for my sides and substituted the white bread with the cheesy corn bread. I think the corn bread was nice and sweet. I could have done without the block of cheese in the center. I am picky about my potato salad, and theirs was pretty good. The Mac and cheese was really good. We think they put the BBQ sauce mixed in. And the potato was average. It might be better with all the meats on it, but as we had it with just cheese and green onion, it was just an average potato. I have had bbq from all over the country so I was sooo excited to try Outlaw with all the hype I've heard...but I was incredibly let down by the quality of the food we received. We got a sampler so we could try a bit of everything and make a good judgement. All of the meats were VERY dry as if they were bottom of the barrel leftovers, yet they were over sauced-likely to try to make up for the meat being dry-and somehow lacked flavor other than an overpowering weird sweetness from the sauce. The sides were mediocre at best...the southern mac and cheese actually kind of broke my heart. Maybe it was the location, maybe it was just a REALLY bad day...I am not sure but this was not a good experience. I won't completely write them off and maybe I'd try it another day and another location but it was a huge waste of money this time around. read more

I live very close to Outlaw and order to go often. I just had a small issue with a to go order and didn't notice till I got home. Once we saw the issue, I gave them a quick call to explain what happened. The manager asked if I lived close, and proceeded to hand deliver us a completely new order ALONG with some delicious cake, on the house. No charge or questions. I am blown away with there customer service. Mistakes happen and that's ok! Thank you so much to the manager for making it right, and the whole staff for always making some of the best food in town.
