I am sure this place would be fun for hanging out with some wings and beer during a game, and since I saw multiple TVs here I would say there is probably not a bad seat in the house for that. But I went during breakfast. I was surprised how small the breakfast menu was since signage outside makes a big deal of serving breakfast. I was also surprised that, if breakfast is supposed to be such a big deal, why is there only one person working the whole floor plus acting as a part time bar tender? Food was ok, but I expected more for the price. One thing that really stuck out was the toast tasted like it was spread with the butter flavored stuff you cook with rather than any kind of butter or margarine or anything you should actually put on toast. I will also note that the decor could use a little cleanup and updating. Yeah, I get this is primarily a sports bar, but it just really looks faded and sad. Not like a comfortable lived in sort of way like a good dive bar would be, more like a neglected home where someone is too old to properly care for the place anymore. This place blew me away--easily one of my new favorite food spots! First off, the jumbo wings are no joke--these were the best wings I've ever had. I got the BBQ flavor, and they were smoky, sweet, and perfectly sticky. You could taste that they were smoked low and slow, and then flash-fried to order for that crispy skin and juicy interior. The flavor was deep and bold, not just tossed in sauce like most places. I also ordered a sandwich that was messy in the best way possible--stacked high, sauced just right, and every bite was full of flavor. The meat was tender and savory, and the sauce had a nice tangy kick that pulled it all together. It felt like a hearty, elevated twist on comfort food. The veggies on the side were super fresh--crisp celery and carrots with creamy ranch that balanced everything out. I loved sitting outside on the patio while enjoying the meal--it added to the whole relaxed, welcoming vibe. I was really looking forward to checking this place out. I had heard a lot of good reviews about their food. Upon entry I was a bit stressed at how small it was but quaint. Sat down in a Booth where the back was not intact and had more of a lounge feel. Tried to order my beer on tap and my husband's cider. Both were out. The ribeye steak was out as well. Ended up just getting her second choice. The mozzarella logs were amazing. Many times when you order cheese sticks this bag they're never cooked all the way through. These were golden crunchy on the outside and soft gooey cheese on the inside. I like the ranch dressing that went with it. I ordered wings. The rub almond was tasty, however, the drums were a little undercooked and I took them home to heat them up further while I polished off the flats. My husband enjoyed his smashburger and we had a fun time doing trivia. However, we sucked pretty bad. Everyone else's meals that came to their tables look pretty good. The host for trivia was fun and we appreciated the banter. They had on their menu and item that you need to call in advance for which looked phenomenal. OMG THIS PLACE IS GREAT! We were greeted quickly, had an amazing bartender, and the food came out quickly and tasted even better than it looked (which was amazing!) Go for the food, not the drinks. A couple friends and I went to The Bearded Ginger (Spokane Valley) for dinner tonight. It was brighter than I expected, and a little chilly. But overall the atmosphere was fine (could use a little updating, but not a deal breaker). The majority of the food was pretty good though. We ordered their jalapeño poppers as an appetizer. They didn't have a full order, just 3. So they gave us those 3 free of charge. Couldn't complain about that. They were served with ranch and BBQ sauce. My friends decided to order a sandwich each and then share, so they could try two sandwich offerings in a single visit (I thought that was genius). They of ordered the Turkey Bacon Melt and the BBQ Sammy with brisket. They were out of brisket though, so their second choice was the pulled pork. Both ordered tots as their side with ranch and tartar sauce. Their ranch was pretty good, but I was told that their tartar sauce was really good. They both liked their sandwiches and both sandwiches were stuffed with meat. I went with the BG Caesar salad. It had great flavor, but FAR too much dressing to be called a Caesar salad. Had I known it was going to be dressing heavy, I would've asked to have it on the side. The sirloin, cooked medium, some may say medium-well (asked for medium rare) was pretty good. It was tender and seasoned well. Due to the heavy dressing I ate the salad and saved the steak for my salad tomorrow, made at home. This was our first time here. We arrived around 12:30 and the lobby and bar was full. There was one person working everything and doing her best to stay on top of all of her guests and she did a great job. We asked her recommendations and said they were known for their barbecue so my husband ordered the barbecued sandwich with brisket. I decided to try something a little different and went with the fish and chips. Everything arrived quickly and looked very fresh. The barbecue sandwich came with coleslaw a small side of baked beans and my husband chose JoJo's. My fish and chips came with three pieces of Cod, JoJo's, a side of coleslaw and tartar sauce. The barbecue sandwich was very tender, had great seasoning and a great barbecue sauce. It was very moist and the JoJo's were perfectly crisp yet still fluffy. The side of barbecue beans had a great freshness to them but came in a small cup that probably held two tablespoons .The fish and chips however struggled. The fish was beautifully moist however the batter was extremely oily and under seasoned. The batter kept falling off and my fingers were so oily I had to eat it with fork. The coleslaw would have added great creaminess and crunch to the dish however I am not a lover of celery seed and this had a lot. It was served with a side of garlic cheese toast which was great. It was nicely seasoned and buttery and delicious. I especially loved their tartar sauce. It was creamy yet had a brinyness to it which was delicious. As for the atmosphere, as I mentioned it was very busy but I appreciated our waitress wiping down every single table for each new customer. The noise level was a little loud but more the person that was sitting next to us. I think they started drinking earlier so they were dropping a lot of f-bombs and we're louder than the rest of the lobby. But then again it is a bar and grill so that is to be expected. While we were there the waitress never came back to check on us or fill our waters but we did see somebody finally come and give her help in the bar. read more

I stopped in around 11am on 5/28/24 while my truck was getting a windshield replaced. I wasn't sure what to expect, even as I sat down. I was greeted immediately by the kind waitress, who took my drink order right away. The menu was a little hard to read. I ordered the fish & chips, and I was VERY IMPRESSED. I almost hate to write a good review here because it seems like this is a good opportunity to keep this place a secret for us in the know. This looks like it could be a dive bar from the outside and the inside is clean, but a bit dated. It takes you back in time a few years. There is an old bar that is open to the dining area with a small wall. Definitely a lot of regular customer traffic in this place which was cool to see. The waitstaff knew quite a few by first names. We came for the food though and they rocked it. We started out with the mozzarella logs and they were outstanding. You can tell they make them in house with fresh moz cheese and a perfectly seasoned outer crunch layer. The dipping sauce was also just perfect. The bbq chimichanga was glorious and the accompanying side salad I ordered was fresh and sizable. My wife had the Cobb salad and it was covered in meat and it was huge. Service was very attentive and friendly, Brittany was awesome! I've been here for take out a few time before but only for their mozzarella logs, we came in tonight to dine in and try their other menu items and hoped for mozzarella logs for dine in but they were out of those for the night along with baked potatoes. We got the pork belly burnt ends for an appetizer and they were okay, kind of tough and they would've been better if they were brisket burnt ends and I would've been more than happy to pay $17ish for brisket burnt ends if that was an option ever! We also got the brisket chimichanga and rice bowl, the chimi was okay, huge so for the price you get a lot but it was missing something, it was mainly mac and cheese with a little bit of brisket but it would've been better if it had beans in it too. The fries were frozen and reminded me of applebees fries. My boyfriend said his rice bowl was delicious though. The ranch dressing is the star tonight, they have great ranch! Their price for draft beer is great, less than $6 for a pint. We paid $75 for 4 beers, an app, and 2 entrees which isn't bad but I wasn't impressed with the food unfortunately. They also had a few fruit flies on the table flying around which would be more understandable during summer but this time of year makes me think they aren't cleaning up good behind the bar but who knows. I will return for mozzarella logs and drinks but probably not any other food items. Delicious! We had a French dip and fish and chips. They were both wonderful. The Jo-Jo's have a tasty coating and the coleslaw was homemade. I swear my Mom must have been in the back because it tasted just like hers. The bun was perfectly toasted on the French dip and the meat was well seasoned. My fish was great 3 good sized pieces. This is our first visit since the place changed ownership and changed the name. Frankly, the name "Bearded Ginger" is not particularly appetizing. Sounds like there's gonna be hair in my food. Now, that's a personal bias and I'm here to say I was wrong. There was no hair in my food. That being said, this WAS a different experience than when the place was Charlie P's. Much of the old menu is gone for good most noticeably, my favorite broasted chicken. Even with the regrettable changes, we were able to find something we liked. The Captain Nasty was a ridiculously huge sandwich. It's built like the Billy Breen from the Satellite but this is better by far. This is a serious protein overload and one of the best parts is the sausage patty-nice and sagey but not too salty. Almost too much to eat in one sitting (but I managed). Wife had the BBQ Nachos, also a huge plate of food. Pulled pork was as good as it gets. The downside here was the service. While it was not terribly busy this night, the service was terrible. There were a couple of people in the kitchen and a couple on the floor so it appeared appropriately staffed. I think the biggest tell here was how our server engaged with what appeared to be regulars (or maybe her friends?). Towards them she was warm and engaging while towards us she was fairly cold & aloof. The food is enough to bring us back but our bar is really low for the service expectation. read more

The pretzel is huge, the cheese sauce it comes with is rich (reminded me more of cacio e pepe than canned nacho cheese). The mozzarella logs are great. I was worried the cheese would be overwhelming, but it was just right. Great crunchy crust, well balanced dips. The brisket was so, so good. Moist, smokey, not overseasoned. They let the meat speak for itself. The PB&J burger was also great. The pb ends up just adding a roasty, lightly nutty note. The pepper jelly's sweetness and heat are a good foil for the burger. They turned out to be full size chicken legs....Would have been nice to know they didn't have wings. When they came out, they were burnt so bad they were mostly inedible. Not sure what the cook was doing, but even the nachos came out burnt. It was like they put them under a broiler to melt the cheese. Bathrooms were not very clean with plastic bags over some of the fixtures as they were out of order.
