Coors light on tap was flat and not cold. Got a second option was okay but still did not taste great. Only had a few options for bottle beers or can beers. They were out of a lot of stuff on a Friday night during blooms day weekend. We ordered food and multiple pieces of hair in our food, yuck. Made the rest of the table not hungry. We were near the bathroom and had funky smells, bathrooms were also not clean. Only good thing was our server was polite and tried to make the best out of a good situation. read more

Pros: We didn't get sick and no one got hurt. Cons: Everything else. Pre-covid, I used to be at Waddell's at least once a week. We cut cable, and it was easier to go to a solid sports bar and watch college football then pay for the privilege. The food was solid, the beer was lukewarm, but with abounding choices, and the service was solid. I can count the number of times I've been back to Waddell's post-pandemic on one hand, so when my son suggested it one Thursday night, I thought it was worth a try. When we walked in on a TNF night, there were perhaps ten people in the whole establishment . There was one fraught server, flitting from table to table, who took almost forever to make contact with us. An indeterminate number of minutes later, he produced a flat soda for my son and a beer that was best characterized as 'simmering' for me. Later (much later), we received an overcooked burger and a chicken wings that were either from an unhealthy or dehydrated chicken. I've rarely seen less appealing repast. Many establishments have had to make concessions post-Covid, but what we saw that night felt less like adjusting to staffing than not giving a crap. There were ten people there -- why couldn't you produce decent wings or a cold beer? It's too bad, because Waddell's of 2019 was a solid choice. My son was craving a burger and wanted Waddell's specifically. We had. It been in quite some time but the vibe is still school and chill. We were quickly greeted and the place was not very busy. I ordered the Rube Waddell, my wife had a chicken sandwich, and my son a bacon cheeseburger. The beer my wife wanted was tapped and so was her second option. Are you craving a huge gourmet burger? Well this is the place! The burgers here are next level! We had excellent food here! Great service too! Unfortunately the beer was warm. For a place that has a HUGE selection of beer on tap it needed to be chilled correctly. Also the floors were all wet and very dangerous. This needed to be cleaned way before customers entered. The food has really gone downhill here. I used to love the food here but the last two times I came it's been very disappointing. Tonight 4 of us came in. One got the smokejumper burger and not only did it arrive in a visible puddle of grease that soaked into most of the fries but it was so raw in the middle he said it was actually cold. When he showed it to the waiter he wasn't concerned. Granted we were all starving so he ate all of it that he could but easily half of the burger patty was left on the plate. I got the cesar salad with chicken - used to be my favorite- the lettuce was slightly wilted and tasted like plastic. The chicken was boiled bland totally plain and had a strange flavor. Again, I hadn't eaten all day so I wasn't going to make a fuss but I'll never get it again. My son ordered the chicken strips off the kids menu and yes, it's a kids meal but 2 tenders? Really? Even a 5 yo could eat more than that- and there was a scant handful of fries. We came in earlier in the summer and had a disappointing meal but thought it was a one-off but it seems to be a downward trend. The waiter took 10% off of each of our bills instead of just comping the raw burger- odd choice. So we each got a couple dollars off our bills...Raw meat is a health hazard man?!? read more

Decided on Waddell's recently to watch a game. Sat at the bar and the bartenders were friendly and service was pretty quick. We had a couple of beers and some onion rings. The beers were a little flat and weren't very cold, which was disappointing. The onion rings were good. There was a big ladder laying on the floor behind the bar stools which seemed weird-overall it felt a little dirty and grimy inside. Not sure we'd rush back. read more

Every time I come here I am astounded by the quality of the food. It always tastes soooooo yummy. I highly recommend this establishment for beer, hot dogs and/or hamburgers. You can't go wrong if Guy Fieri recommends it as well. This is a sports bar with parking. Service is always given with a smile even when they are swamped. There is also a very nice outdoor patio. This is an excellent place for indoor or outdoor dining. I've been here several times, and each time I've had great meals. Most recently, we were a party of four plus a four-year-old. We chose a big booth toward the back, which was perfect. For the first time, I changed from my usual menu item and order a Bleu Cheese Hamburger with sweet potato fries. I really hate any pink in my hamburger, so I made that known to our stellar waitress when I ordered. The hamburger was perfectly cooked for me and very tasty, really hit the spot, and the sweet potato fries were excellent too. Who knew that I'd been missing out by always ordering the same thing! First the bad. Possibly the worst wings I have ever had. I am a world renowned wing expert and get them almost any time I see them on a menu. I've had wings from Buffalo to L.A. and Waddell's could be the worst I have ever tried. These wings were unrecognizable in that it was impossible to decipher which were drums and which were flats. The drums were misshapen lumps that seemed to have broken off ends. The wings were battered, which normally isn't a terrible thing, but in this case they came swimming (think a small bowl of soup) in the sauce. Even my friend commented on the bowl of sauce the wings were drowning in. The sauce itself was supposed to be a sweet heat but tasted more like a far too sugary 3rd rate general tso's, not the popular sweet heat found in many similar establishments. The heavy batter became very sticky with the syrup like sauce/soup and even though I ordered them extra crispy, the soggy wings were no match for the chicken wing swimming pool. Great pub atmosphere, lots of tv's, friendly service, crap wings. read more

We don't eat out very much. The food was very good. The sweet potato fries were fresh and hot.

Took a while to get our food with only three other tables in the whole place. One meal sat under the heat lamp while our other food took a while. So one meal was rather cold. $8 for "microbrew" pints? $8?? And this includes light Corona-style beers? What the heck? Not an $8 beer! This has been a goto place on the South Hill for years but something has changed. On a recent visit, the buns were swaped out for store bought potato buns that were cold like they just came out of the package, the fries which were one of the signatures of the place were swaped out for shoestring fries and a decreases portion. To top it off they started charging a fee if you pay by credit card. The menus were liquid stained and dirty, the floors were sticky. Please bring back the old Waddell's we all knew and loved. Hit and miss. Definitely has the feeling of a rock star in their later years, like an obese Elvis trying to gyrate with the same intensity of his younger days. The magic is still there, but it no longer hits dead-on or with anything approaching certainty. Menu errs on the side of indulgent, greasy comfort food with goofy yet successful little twists here and there. Good burgers. Big portions. Service pretty much consistently sucks and is douchey more often than not. Prices approach batshit insane. Good beer selection. Interior is noisy and surpasses the charm of most Applebees, but it's a tight race. read more

My husband, myself and two kids went to Waddells last night . I was so excited as we hadn't been in at least two years . Going out for food has just gotten to expensive for us to do as often. I was craving a burger and Waddells fry sauce is THE BEST . They asked how we wanted our burgers done , we said well done. They were practically raw. Soooo pink. I ordered a gluten free bun. This was the first restaurant in Spokane that I got to sit down and eat at since covid started. Walking in I could see that they were under staffed. It took a little bit for us to be seated and even longer to get our orders taken. However I completely understand because two people running the bar, the floor and, take out is a lot. We got our order taken and watched as two lore tables were seated and waited for our food. Again longer than normal but understandable, there were quite a few take outs that night. My dad got the wings and onion rings, my mom the Ruben and I got a burger with brisket and bbq sauce with sweet potato fries. My burger was really good. Definitely a multi napkin experience, not one for longer a first date but super tasty. The sweet potato fries are not something I normally get but I am glad I did. They had a lot of flavor and it worked to pick up the debris from the burger. I tried one of the wings from my dad and they were good tasty and satisfying. Onion rings not so much. They were ones you get in a bag and deep fry. No flavor and kinda disappointing, since the menu says beer battered onion rings which didn't hold up. My moms Ruben which I didn't try since Rubens aren't my thing, she said it was decent but not something that she would exclusively get. I would go back for the wings and burger but try more things on the menu. During covid and the reduced restrictions they did their best. Their service while friendly lacked something to be desired because getting the check took a long time even when we already had boxes for the food. We have been here so many times over the years. They ALWAYS have fantastic service!! Our server on 1/26/25 was awesome! I wish we could remember his name and the other girl was awesome as well. The food is so good. The burgers are my personal fav. The chipotle wings are also awesome. You guys are so great. Thanks for always being an easy choice when we are in Spokane. That is not usually a prevalent quality of chili, but it worked really well with the acidic tang of the tomato base. And it wasn't overpowering at all to the composition of the stew, either. My beefy bowl was a very generous serving, and, I greatly enjoyed how they melted the shredded cheese on top. That added another unique layer of flavor to a delicious bowl of red. We sat outside on the patio, it was such a nice day! We are here around 3 on a Sunday, they weren't so busy so we were able to get right in! My kids decided here because of the Guy Fieri DDD show. I'll get to the point, the food was delicious. Honestly. I ordered the French dip with sweet potato fries and omg they were great! The wife ordered the repeater and the son ordered the big dawg, both double patty burgers and they both said their burgers were delicious. The daughter ordered a lil dog with onion rings and she was also impressed. The decor is pub style and here are TV's to watch sports. The menu is fairly priced and the service was great. Will def be back! Checked out the bathroom, the faucet is not automatic BUT the bathroom was clean and (brace yourself) there was a HUGE TV in the bathroom! We first tried Waddell's many years ago when they first opened. Well they are just as delicious today as they were back then. They were very busy today, but were excellent in complying with all phases of reopening during covid. Our server was actually the manager, and he was a great guy. He wasn't just checking on us, he was making sure all diners were enjoying their meals. I did their french dip, and it was delicious and huge. I was a bit timid about having the diced jalapenos they used, but actually the heat and the flavor was a cool new way to enjoy this traditional sandwich. This is a delightful pub, everything you hoped for from a local eatery including good food, decent service, and a homey atmosphere. The burgers are big and the fries are delightfully salted. The food prices are pretty on-par with what you'd expect from a local pub, burgers in the mid-teens range and sides in a range of values. I've been here a couple times now, and the service is always kind and polite, although at times it gets super busy so expect a wait! If you want a place to watch the game or just meet up with friends, I would definitely recommend stopping in. You won't be disappointed by the food or atmosphere! read more

My family stopped in here for lunch after a day of visiting the local farms. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Tabs were easily and accurately split. Family friendly. Indoors is your typical sports bar. Plenty of TVs mounted throughout the restaurant. A large selection of beers, wine and spirits. A nice outdoor seating area is offered for those who like to dine outdoors. As was expected, the atmosphere is loud. I'm giving three stars due to the fact that Waddell's gift cards are not interchangeable between the two Spokane locations. That kind of information should be stated when gift cards are purchased. Coors Light bottles were $3.95 each.I ordered the featured Grand Teton beer for $4 a pounder. My wife and I shared the Slaughterhouse for $13: Crispy chicken tossed in the house special inferno sauce, french fried onions, french fried jalapenos, romaine lettuce, tomato, onion, fresh jalapeños, chipotle mayo and Pepper jack cheese. We chose the seasoned fries as our side. Our sandwich was tasty with a nice amount of heat. The fries were hot, crispy and perfectly seasoned. This is one of those as-good-as-it-gets places with respect to the hot dogs (Nathan's) and burgers. I'm a fan of the service and the straight-forward, unpretentious atmosphere. If you've not been, or if you don't typically go for hot dogs when eating out, try the Brisket Slaw Dog for an introduction to a new form of heaven. They have thick, well fried sweet potatoes which come with a house sauce that will be enough to make you come back for more. Rotating beer taps have a decent range of hops and cider to choose from. Absolutely the WORST staff ever! Walked in the door and there are 3 tables seated. The lady behind the bar said 'I'll be right with you!' Then picked up her phone, walked to the end of the bar and stood there for 3 minutes on her phone. Then she handed me menus and told me to seat myself anyway! (Could a done that while she was texting! ) Then she raced by fast walking saying I can't get with you til I run food. (3 tables total!) finally she came to the table to take the order and acted like she was 1. Put out by having to work 2. She was So slammed! Drove over today from Seattle! I had an amazing experience. Don't know why Yelpers are hating on this place. Trevor the bartender was great. Very attentive and accommodating. The food was out of this world. It's what I expect from all the Triple D places I visit. Pop Rockin Wings were awesome. The Big Dawg Burger was out of bounds!! I added an egg to guild the lily a bit.
