The texture and look are spot-on; they absolutely nailed the recipe. The portion sizes are wild. Even the side salad filled the entire plate once I dumped it out of the bowl No sweet potato fries, unfortunately, but the salad was so good I wouldn't even bother ordering a different side. I noticed several tables getting the chicken Cobb salad, and that thing is massive. This place reminds me of Cascadia and Rut, and it's great to see more vegan-friendly spots popping up in Spokane instead of the usual flood of chicken joints. This was a rough visit. They had two large parties reserve a very large table inside and the entire patio outside on a very beautiful Friday evening. Which was a bummer, but not a big deal. We ended up sitting at the bar when the service was super slow. Luckily we weren't in a hurry. I ordered a margarita and my friend a blackberry Collin's. Bartender accidentally swapped our drinks. We got it figured out after we both tasted them and thought something was off. We started with the beet hummus. That was probably the best thing we ordered, but even that wasn't great. The hummus was lacking flavor. I ordered the sweet and spicy pork belly sandwich for my entree and it was... gross. The pork belly strips that were in it were basically really thick slices of bacon, not crispy at all, and SO SO FATTY. It was, awful. I was really disappointed. Fries were good though. The bartender asked if there was something wrong with the sandwich because I didn't want a box and only one bite. I told her I really just didn't like it. She took it off the bill without hesitation. Which was very kind and also makes me wonder if I'm not the first one to be disappointed in this sandwich. My friend got the lemon herb grilled chicken sandwich and she said it was "alright". It was a nice time out with a friend, but I probably won't go back. I will definitely go to Cascadia, their other restaurant though. That menu is amazing and never disappoints. read more

Our appetizer and entrees arrived together, and the appetizer was lukewarm, which made it seem like it had been sitting for a while. My husband asked two different servers for ranch and never received it. Later, our server offered another drink while multiple earlier requests had still gone unaddressed. When we finished eating, both a to-go box and the check took an unusually long time to arrive. What made the experience particularly frustrating was seeing our server spending significant time chatting with other patrons while requests at our table were being forgotten. As we were leaving, we also observed the hostess dumping leftover liquids and food waste into bushes near the outdoor seating area, which seemed unprofessional. The food and drinks were genuinely good, and we wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, the service issues overshadowed an otherwise enjoyable meal. Came here with a huge group so my experience will not be typical. In the big group I was able to try several appetizers. They were probably the highlight of the meal. For dinner I ordered the braised short rib melt. Sandwich was bland and the meat was nothing special. Menu says it comes with caramelized onions but I couldn't taste them. Bread had way too much butter on it. Serving a large group is difficult and server was friendly and made a good effort to keep the drinks coming. Unfortunately my order came out last, almost 10 minutes after everyone else had their food. The food was amazingly delicious. The bulgogi cheesesteak was a hit. The flavors and meet were an excellent idea compared to your normal chopped cheesesteak. The tacos were very good and the tamarind pork belly's are a well blended combination of sweet and spice. The desserts are also very good and the strawberry cream cheese is finger licking good. I would recommend getting ice cream with the Cinnamon sugar dough puffs. My girlfriend and I walked to Kindred Public House since we live nearby, and I'm glad we did because the parking lot was packed and street parking looked limited. When we walked in, the first thing we noticed was the energy of the place. It felt very modern and comfortable, and clearly popular. The only downside was that it was pretty loud inside. With how busy it gets, the space could really benefit from some sound-absorbing materials or acoustic panels to soften the noise a bit. The atmosphere itself was great, just a little overwhelming volume-wise. The staff looked extremely busy, but our server was very sweet and had a beautiful smile that carried throughout the afternoon. She never seemed rushed with us even though the place was hopping. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and I had a doctor's appointment later. I thought I had planned enough time, but the food was taking longer than I expected. When I realized I might run short on time, I asked if we could switch the order to go. They handled it without any issue, which I really appreciated. I didn't get the sense anyone was annoyed, even though I probably would have been if I were juggling that many tables. One thing I really appreciated was that they brought water out right away. It seems like a lot of restaurants have stopped doing that automatically, so it stood out in a good way. I ordered The Prototype burger and was excellent. Huge burger, really flavorful, and I devoured it after not eaten all day. Prices seemed reasonable nothing that stood out as too high or too cheap. They also had a nice selection of draft beers, and the glasses were ice cold which I loved. If they ever put Pacifico on tap, I'd probably be there all the time. I don't remember exactly what my girlfriend ordered, but she enjoyed her meal as well. The only challenge for us was the noise level. It was a bit overstimulating at times. This was our first visit to this nice addition the our neighborhood. We've been wanting to try it for a bit now and finally had the occasion to do it. Inside it is just as you would expect a 'public house' to be. Enough seating to hold quite a few folks, but still enough room to not make you feel cramped. The wait staff were spot on during our visit with drinks never hitting bottom. They were all friendly too. We started with the rosemary puffs which were oh so good. We may come back and just get a couple orders of those. Dinner for us was a shared chicken tender entree with a side of mac & cheese. The tenders are made in house and were outstanding. The mac and cheese was also stellar, with a creamy, smokey goodness. My wife also had an old fashioned and said it was one of the better ones she's ever had. Everything from start to finish was amazing. The Prime Dip Sandwich was the best I have ever had. The bread was perfectly toasted, the beef was tender and flavorful, and the au jus had the perfect rich depth that made every bite better than the last. The chicken was clearly hand breaded and so delicious. It was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. Paired with their creamy mac and cheese and house sauces, it was pure comfort food perfection. The hot honey dipping sauce was absolutely amazing and added the perfect touch of sweet heat. The mojito was light, minty, and refreshing with the perfect balance of sweetness and citrus. It tied the whole meal together perfectly. My husband and I were craving burgers for a date night, so we thought of trying Kindred. From the moment we walked in, to when we left, the servers and bar staff were friendly, efficient and clearly took pride in what they did. We were asked right away if we wanted drinks and brought waters in the meantime. We both ordered flavored lemonades (strawberry for me and lychee for him) and they were absolutely delicious. It was the perfect balance of tartness and real fruit, and we each had two refills. The food came out quickly, and was just as we had ordered it. Tyra our server, continued to check in on us, making sure we had what we needed and never had empty glasses. The environment was relaxed and the music was fun, but not overbearing. The bathrooms were clean and the decor was inspired. The only reason this place gets four stars instead of five is because the way the burgers are constructed could be improved to enhance the eating experience. The flavors are incredible and the portions are generous. However, the bottom bun does not hold up to all of the ingredients and even a "non-messy" burger was very messy. If this one thing was improved by the kitchen, this place would get seven stars from us. That in mind, even if they don't do anything differently, we will still be back. It's just that good!! It's also all the little details that makes this place fun and interesting, like the supplemental changing menus and the painted murals on the walls. Be sure to check them out when you go. My partner and I came in on a Saturday evening during the dinner rush, no reservation, and walked maybe 15 min before we were seated. From there, the service was fast, including food orders. We each got a cocktail from their menu (both the Blackberry Flare and Elderberry Collins were delicious!) and the mushroom calamari and pork belly bites to start. My husband and I went here for date night on a Friday, arriving just before 4 p.m. We were excited to try this new restaurant after reading so many positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite. We seated ourselves, ordered quickly, and only asked for three simple items: a small appetizer, a salad, and chicken strips. Not only did we wait more than 45 minutes while multiple tables that arrived after us (including a family of six) were served full meals, but we couldn't even get a clean glass of water. After requesting multiple times, every glass brought to the table was dirty or had something on it. When we finally asked our waitress if we could just pay for the appetizer and one drink so we could leave, she simply said "okay." No apology, no concern, no effort to make things right. This was by far the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant, which is especially disappointing for a new business in town.
