Dry Brisket slice.

The restaurant vibe and decor was very pleasing; Country music not too loud. The room wasn't busy even though at lunch hour. The waitress covering it all was efficient, talking minimally and briskly; it seemed a familiar process to her. Not one for not eye contact, but credit is due her for efficiency. The amount of food is adequate and presentation is thoughtful; thin paper towels on tabletop, lightweight thin metal utensils in a paper sleeve. My husband ordered a Reuben made with brisket and coleslaw as a side. The sandwich relied on sauerkraut and cheese to carry the load, the brisket offered little except a saltiness. He liked the slaw. My order was sliced brisket with two sides: mac & cheese & baked beans (my choices). The beans were nicely spiced, a little sweet but I enjoyed them. The mac & cheese was like home leftovers (2-days in) microwaved then topped with an equally tired cheese glob. The combo was dry, not at all creamy or freshly made. It came with two slices of soft (squish-able) white bread and a little tub of sweetened spread. Not a fan of white bread normally, the bread was quite nice and helpful as it turned out. In both dishes the brisket lacked the flavor and savory notes one wants in bbq, appearing to have at best a day's rest from the oven (vs bbq) before a reheat to further parch. It fell well short of satisfactory. We never fret over the price of food if it's really satisfying. We count our blessings at the luxury of a meal when away from home. But to drive miles out of our route, then spend an extra few dollars for upgrade to brisket, it was deflating. Brisket is a cut that should be made flavorful and moist by beef fat rendered to utter succulence. This, from a slow & low process. To find the core reason for the mission (the brisket) dry and over-salted is not the end of the world but is unfortunate. The visit might have been improved with a person to person connection, but that wasn't to be. Efficiency was admirable however. In the final analysis, being pricey didn't enhance the episode. Our lunch for two, no-drinks, no deserts was (if paying cash) just pennies shy of $50. We won't return. Might be a fun sports bar if populated, but a sad place for bbq.. at least brisket.

Ordered catering, from out of state, as a gift for my fiancés bachelor party and Outlaw went above and beyond in helping me decide on what to order and making sure it was executed to perfection. And, according to the guys, the BBQ was delicious. Great customer service and when back in Spokane we will be back!

The closest to Texas BBQ that you can find in the PNW, the fried okra was cooked to perfection. This is the only place that does sweet tea right. The service was great and he had great recommendations on the food. It's rustic on the inside but a great place to wind down

A brisket Reuben. Untraditional but sooo good.

My favorite place in Spokane! The best Reuben ever! Half of on essentially all alcohol for happy hour. Very casual. This was the best Reuben I have ever had. The brisket was a perfect match for the SOUR sauerkraut. The toasted bread did not get soggy. Will be hard to go back and try something else and not just get this again. Happy hour is half of on beer and spirits. My $5 Makers Mark was quite the deal. They have some big drinks as well. Clearly this place is for drinking! Definitely will be going back. Have to try the tri tip sandwich. Hope my expectations aren't too high.

One of the best meals in Spokane! Smoked turkey plate with Texas chili, fries, and upgraded Cornbread muffins with MAPLE BUTTER

Prompt, kind service with large portions of amazing (and affordable) food, with country music at all times. I can't say enough great things about Outlaw staff.

Ordered the one meat Togo, got brisket, chili, Mac and cheese, substituted the white bread for the cheesy cornbread muffins, which is an extra cost. I've been to the valley location and they were spot on every time. This location wasn't too bad, the little cornbread muffins tasted like either freezer burnt or whatever fridge they put it in there was also a bit in the center that looked like cheese but it was inedible. It was like a puck. Pretty off putting. Other than that the rest of the stuff was good. The brisket was well seasoned and tender, the Mac and cheese was fine, the chili was good, a bit on the sweeter side but still good. Service was super friendly on the phone and when I went to pick up.

Tonight Uber eats had 40% off a $25 order at specific restaurants and Outlaw happened to be one of them. I've been wanting to try them for years and I'm so happy now that I finally have! They had a 2 for $10 sandwich only deal so I got myself the brisket and my son the chicken. A side of fries, 2 dinner rolls and a small side of ribs. I was worried at first that it wasn't going to be enough food for the two of us. I was surprised when I opened the bag: the sandwiches were full sized and oh soooo good. They had the red sauce on them which tasted good. Not spicy and smoky enough. The buns of the sandwich, they had a little crunch to them and just taste delicious. The ribs were good and the char to the end piece was just right. The fry seasoning was on point. Next time I'd like to eat in person. I do not regret this meal at all.

The turkey wrap sandwich is really good. The corn bread is fantastic. The jalapeño corn pasta is also really good. I'll be back for sure.

Good food. Good service. Excellent value. But not great barbecue. I wish they incorporated more natural smoke flavor into their meats.

The biggest issue right away was how long the food took. It felt like we were waiting forever, and by the time it finally came out, it definitely didn't feel worth it. We started with the pretzel, which honestly was nothing like a pretzel. It tasted more like glorified fried dough and didn't have that classic pretzel texture or flavor at all. For drinks, mine was way too strong and just didn't taste good. It wasn't balanced at all and ended up being hard to even enjoy. For my main, I ordered the Cascadia burger medium, but it came out clearly well done and overcooked. On top of that, the egg on it was severely undercooked.. some of the whites were still clear and slimy, which completely ruined it for me. I had also heard good things about the mac and cheese, so I gave it a try, but that was another disappointment. It was bland and runny, and even after adding salt and pepper, it still had no real flavor. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich, which wasn't terrible, but it was definitely on the dry side. They were also out of fries, so he had to get fruit instead, which was kind of disappointing. Overall, the food took way too long, the quality didn't match the price, and the experience just didn't live up to the hype at all. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

While this place was a little farther alway from downtown than we were seeking, it checked all our boxes. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich, a cheese burger, tacos and potato skins. Sides included tots and fries. Drinks were water, iced tea and a Pepsi. Our server was very friendly and handled our order like a pro. The food came quickly and looked good. Taste was equally excellent. My only comments: I was changed 50 cents to add pickles to my sandwich (who does that?) and the potato skins seemed overpriced for what we got. Not a complaint, just my opinions.

My order arrived quickly for as busy as they were. The fries were nothing special, just shoe strings with salt. Meh. The burger arrived open faced and made for really good presentation with the sunny side up egg on top. The patties were nice and juicy with good beefy flavor. But the egg was kind of unnoticeable and completely overpowered by the red onion and thick slices of pickle. Yoke was runny but not too runny to where it all ran out on the first bite. Rather it mostly stayed in the burger. This was the most expensive burger on their menu. Next time I will go for the Bleu Cheese Burger, which is my usual go-to.

The whole atmosphere is dark, cozy, moody, and feels more like a hidden lounge than a typical downtown bar. Between the lighting, music, books, and dramatic cocktail menus, the vibe alone makes the place worth visiting. We tried the espresso martini, Painkiller, and Bloody Verde. The espresso martini was smooth and easy to drink without being overly sweet, and the Painkiller had that creamy tropical flavor that somehow still worked with the darker speakeasy atmosphere. Keeping it honest though, the Bloody Verde just wasn't for me personally. I can still appreciate the creativity behind it, but the flavor combo just didn't match my taste buds. That being said, if you like savory spicy cocktails, you'd probably feel very differently about it. Service was friendly, drinks came out looking great, and the music really tied the whole experience together. Definitely feels like one of Spokane's more unique cocktail spots if you want something moodier and more relaxed.
