Been here numerous times. I ordered my usual Cobb salad. When we first started eating here, the salad was good and was a real Cobb salad with all the fixings. During COVID, quality went downhill. Which I can understand. However, there has been no improvement since. We kept giving them a chance. But today was the final straw. My Cobb salad was lettuce, a few bacon bits thrown in. A few bits of blue cheese, an egg, and a smashed chicken breast. Also guacamole. No olives, no tomatoes, no sliced avocado just guacamole mini. And it was all tossed together. No Cobb stripes of goodies. It was again an expensive disappointment. We are done with Poole's. read more

I have eaten at Poole's for the past couple of years and will not eat there again. The food is subpar and the menu descriptions are misleading. The Mo Burger I had yesterday was the size of a McDonalds cheepist burger. I have also eaten the Reuben sandwiches and they are very limited on meat and taste. They have good half price whiskey on Wednesday but recommend not eating here due to serving size, poor tasting, and high prices. You would be better off at Arbys and McDonalds. We dropped in for a quick bite. The service was good for how busy it was. The server knew the menu well and answered my questions. We came in the middle of trivia which looked fun and perhaps why it was so packed and loud to hear. So for that reason I will not deduct a star. The food was super yummy. It has some pub food but it also had some unique food that I was interested in trying. I got the chicken curry sandwich, which was very tasty and I was impressed. I recently visited Poole's while I was in town earlier this week and wow, some things don't change and in the best way! Poole's still has one of the best breakfasts in Spokane in my opinion. I ordered the Eggs Benedict like I have in previous visits. Our server was friendly and made sure we were taken care of and happy. Ambiance in Poole's is sporty, lots of space, and great for big groups. My Eggs Benedict was perfect. Eggs were poached to perfection, toasted English muffin, tasty ham, delicious hollandaise sauce and crispy and hot hashbrowns. Thanks for the great visit, Poole's! read more

We came to Poole's to celebrate my son! We have passed by this place about a hundred times but have never stopped. As we pulled up it was obvious this was different than your average Spokane Fast Casual restaurant. The exterior is a sleek facade, resembling aBritish pub. We were greeted by a super friendly server and promptly seated. The menu is deep, but not overly expensive, and wow does the food park a punch! You've got to try the scotch egg, particularly with the country gravy, which was spot on. The beer selection was minimal, but they offer 16,22,and 32oz mugs We sampled pasta, the chili, and two sandwiches. You won't be disappointed. Cudos to the staff! read more

I don't leave reviews for anything, however, I feel compelled to give this restaurant a bad review. For the money you spend on one meal it should be great food and good service. The first three times we came here. It was absolutely wonderful but service and food quality have gone down tremendously, and I am so sad because the owners are such great people. We had a a huge party of people and told them Poole's was the best place and boy. What a disappointment people talked about it for weeks. The service couldn't have been any worse and then the food was so terrible that we went and ate somewhere else later I thought I'd give it another go six months later and here I am eating cold dried out leftover chicken, lemon linguine. I have eaten here three times. The first we ordered delivery through Uber eats and the food must have sat for too long, because it was crap. The second I went with some coworkers and I got the mushroom bacon burger and it was bland. The last time we went was because my son chose this place to celebrate his last day of elementary school (). It was perfect. Our waitress was fantastic, the food was really good, and the atmosphere even better. It was bloody hot (93°) and we sat outside on the patio. The building provided shade, so it was actually perfect! My husband and oldest son got chicken fried steak and they both loved it! It was large and delicious! My middle son got a burger and thought the toasted bun was the perfect touch! He actually told the waitress "my compliments to the chef" (he's 9 and wants to be a food critic lol). I got the Buffalo chicken salad in a wrap, but with grilled chicken instead of crispy. It came and they forgot the Buffalo sauce. The waitress quickly got me a side of Frank's to make up for it. That ended up being perfect because I got to decide how much I wanted on my wrap. Great Burger joint, service was fast and friendly. Music wasn't too loud and we we're able to pick our own table to sit at. I love the giant garage doors, reminds me of Sonic restaurant. Food was ok, I got the veggie patty which they can put into any burger option. I noticed anything fried they tend to overcook a little bit. My patty was a bit black and my tater tots were very dry. I also got sweet potato fries last week and it was black as well. My friend got the fish and chips and the batter on the fish look hella cooked like a little too much cooked, he had to pick out the fish from the inside with a fork. My Brother in law said the meat burgers are very good never frozen gamey taste so I would recommend that if you like meat. read more

Honestly the food just isn't good. They claim everything is homemade when it's clear the food is straight freezer bag to deep fryer. It's in a strip mall with a parking lot view. And service is what you can expect just about everywhere in Spokane: lacking. All the stars come from their happy hour which is half off all drinks. It makes the visit worth it. read more

My partner and I went in there earlier today. We got sat, we met our server and everything was good at first and then once we got our food things started to decline. We did not get refills on any of our drinks and my partner had to keep flagging down the server. We ordered a dessert to go and it took 20 minutes to get to us and it was a crème brûlée. My partner noticed that the server was constantly bent over at the bar, paying attention to a specific other table. We understand that we are not the center of attention when it comes to restaurants because of other tables and etc. The problem is when we went in there was maybe 4 total tables, another sever/worker asked us if we needed anything because we were trying to leave as well. After we got the bill we went to the hostess stand because we had to leave and the server was rude about checking us out even though it wasn't anything against her we just had to leave due to plans. What happened to Poole's breakfast? A couple of years ago, my wife and I visited Poole's a few times for Sunday breakfast, then stopped going out due to you-know-what (starts with a "C"). We started back a few months ago but have reduced our schedule due to ridiculously high increases in costs, some expected due to a variety of reasons (transportation, labor, government), others due to opportunism, greed, and trying to "recover" lost revenues. Yep, prices are considerably higher, however we old people don't make more so go less. But that is not the reason for this low rating. When we DID go there more often, the food was good. This Sunday morning, it was the opposite of good, and the service out of the kitchen was very, very slow. Thirty minutes slow, even though there were no local sports games and far from a packed house. My wife had the "Mama Poole" breakfast and I had the "Country Benedict," with what was described as spicy sausage patties on a biscuit topped with gravy and eggs (in lieu of, well, eggs Benedict). I'm a country boy so gave it a shot. I should have been shot. Beside the half pound of shredded hash browns (more white than brown, and actually barely warm) was the pile of biscuit/sausage/gravy/sort-of-poached eggs. The "biscuit" was more like a Sottish scone with extra cement, the sausage patty maybe started as a meat product (turned jerky), thin, absolutely burned on both sides but with zero "spicy," and the sausage gravy was as bland as you might expect out of a can. My wife's biscuit was the same building block and she just couldn't eat it. She did request honey to go with it and the cost-conscious server brought her two tiny Smucker's packs (you know the kind, found in all your better breakfast dives). The only thing that saved them one star was the Sunday morning $5 Bloody Mary. Nice. Spicy. The only thing I might ask the next time is maybe some vodka in it. But pretty sure there won't be a next time. Not sure if they serve water there. No one asked. read more

This is our third visit. 1 breakfast on the weekend and 2 afternoon visits. This has become one of our favorite places. The staff is super friendly, the beer is great, and all the food we have tried has been great . The place from the parking lot seems small but it is bigger than it appears. Very nicely laid out. Lots of TVs playing. The location is just off the beaten path. Prices are reasonable... highly recommend trying. read more

Tried their Happy Hour (3 to 6 pm) and found only alcohol is discounted. All food was full price. Not even an order of fries or a small burger offered at a HH price. I ordered a special Sangria drink and it wasn't tasty at all. The chowder I had was barely warm and was pretty boring. I left most of it. My friend had a (good) beer and tried a scotch egg (the sausage wrap was good) and an order of fries (hot and crispy) with tartar sauce (heavy dill). So, nothing special and I can't really see going back even though there's lots of TVs and the Seahawks game was on (they lost - boo!). read more

We went for breakfast today, and it was OK. My breakfast burrito was yummy and well made. Everyone else's hash browns looked good, golden brown and they enjoyed them. Mine were dark brown, hard as a rock and tasted like oil. Sad... I live hash browns and only allow myself to have them occasionally. Coffee is bottomless if they ever come to refill. We had to ask for the one refill we got. The biscuits came with no butter and we never saw our waiter again to ask for some... so we took it home where we knew we had butter. Overall a fun place to watch sports, but I'd choose somewhere else for breakfast. read more

I'll start with the fact that I love supporting locally owned businesses. That was our primary reason for giving this place a try. Unfortunately this was quite possibly one of the worst meal experiences we've had in some time. After taking a seat we were promptly asked for drink choices and they were delivered. (Coke and a water.) We took a few minutes to get to know the menu and decided on the Turkey Melt and Bubble and Squeak. The meals arrived a bit later and something seemed amiss. I actually got a menu to check and see if the order was right. Nope. The Turkey Melt that my wife ordered was missing the lettuce and tomato that it is advertised to have. The rye bread was also grilled to the point it was burnt. My Bubbles and Squeak was supposed to have two eggs, not one. Also the banger was barely luke warm and very, very dry inside. This is marked as one of their specialty items so you would think they would spend the time to get it right. We would have mentioned the errors before ending our meal time but the waiter didn't come back until we were done. I mentioned the errors at this time and he went back to the back for a minute or two. When he returned he apologized for the mistakes saying they had a new executive chef and they were still training the other cooks. They gave 10% off the final bill. My thing is this. As a waiter I assume that you should know the menu and when you grab it from the 'ready' area I would think you would give it a once over to ensure correctness and quality. This obviously didn't happen and still looking at a $30 bill after the discount I can clearly say this meal was not worth half that. Sure wish we had a different experience. There will not be any return trips here. read more

Visited yesterday evening with a last minute party of 14. They were very accommodating for such a last minute family gathering. The menu had something for everyone - from the 12 year old to the 79 year old. All the food and drinks were delivered in a timely manner and were great, from the appetizers to the mains. Honestly was excited to try this place. Arrived at 10:30 and admittedly the place was busy, and with staff shortages was expecting it to be a bit to get food, all good. I was not expecting to be seated for almost an hour and not even have water brought. I would be willing to understand if everyone was getting the same service and the place was just short staffed. But there were other guests seated next to us who were seated at the same time as we were. They got drinks, ordered, and were served, before we were even brought water or asked about drinks. At that point We gave up and left. And no we weren't giving mixed signals, our menus were stacked and sitting at the edge of the table indicating we were ready to order. I hate writing negative reviews, but having the waiter who seated us walk by us and look at the menus no less than 6 times, without even saying a word is downright disrespectful. Safe to say I won't be giving this place another try, Frank's Dinner was more than willing to take our business and make us feel like we existed and gave us great service off the bat. read more

Great ambiance! This spot is hidden just off of N Division across from the Wandermere Shopping Center. Local spot serving a range of craft brews. Great for watching sports for sure (TVs all around). I had chips and salsa with my brew that was excellent and not typical at all! I saw a LOT of folks eating dinner while I was there. So, I will try the eats next time I drop in. read more

We ordered a lot of food ....what didn't we order? We got tots and steak bites as appetizers, lemon chicken linguine, cottage pie (oh, my gawd, the cottage pie was great!), kids grilled cheese, Whiskey River burger, taco salad, chop Thai chicken salad. The only reason I'm giving it three stars is that there were a few flies that we couldn't get rid of (not their fault due to side door opening - but not enough staff to get them out either) and my daughter wanted lettuce, tomato and grilled onions on her whiskey burger (which is supposed to come with) and they charged us $3.50 for the grilled onions, tomatoes and lettuce (kind of cheap) if you think about it...especially as it on the menu - what can I say I'm a particular reviewer. The beer selection is great AND the cottage pie I will return for many times. We wanted to try the scotch eggs...next time. Service was cheerful and a bit slow to our large party...again not wait staff fault so we left large tip. We went to Poole's Public House North...we will go back. Super disappointed in Poole's lately! This used to be a great restaurant but their food has gone downhill. We ordered the black bean quesadillas with chicken, something we have ordered for years. We have noticed that the last couple times we have ordered, it hasn't been great. However, this time it was awful!! It came out cold, the chicken was all dark meat (used to be white meat and really good) and just tasted odd. Two of the people in our party who ate these were sick that night. Definitely not planning to return anytime soon. Bummer because we used to love this place. Was also disappointed when they got rid of the sweet potato tots!
