Always appreciated the ambiance of Outback. Came in around 8 and sat immediately. Clean table and silverware definitely kept up with. Was looking forward to drinks so we got two Boomarang Flights with the blackberry and mango ones, those are our fav! Tried the new garlic chicken bites and they are it!!! Crispy and tender with ranch, they came out nice and hot. All the entrees were amazing, we needed to go boxes but had to get dessert. The brownie with ice cream on top did it for the night, barely got home! Great experience and amazing staff, thank you Derrick!

Friendly staff, didn't like my drink and the manager apologized and comped the drink. I told them nothing was wrong it just wasn't what I thought it would be and I would still pay, but the manager insisted it be comped. The food was great, the interior was decorated nicely as well.

Soup

I eat there often and love the food. Today I did an Instacart delivery. I ordered soup of the day & salad. Today was Potato soup. I never tried it before. It was way too salty. No way could I eat the soup. It wasn't good.

Disgusting lobster tail # 1

1 star because I couldn't select zero. I would be remiss if I did not share these photos of the lobster tails that were just delivered to my house. Luckily, I know what lobster tails are SUPPOSED to look like and knew that I'd be violently ill if I ate them. I spoke with Darian, very kind manager who refunded my entire order. However, that's not the issue. Lobster meat this dark means that the lobster was bad before it was even cooked. I fault the chef and then whomever placed the tails in the to-go-box without inspecting them. This is a health and safety issue and needs to be addressed.

Stopped on my way home from the airport after picking up my daughter and we were greeted and sat quickly. We were able to get our order in quickly as well. Had the bloomin onion as an appetizer, it was smaller than I remember, cooked a little too much but the kids enjoyed it. Ordered the sirloin and chicken entree. We had a long ticket time and it did not seem very busy, about 7:30 on a Friday, should have been quicker. After 30 minutes our food came out. My steak was on the cold side but the chicken was perfect. The mashed potatoes were good but the seasonal vegetables needed a little seasoning.

We went to this restaurant and called ahead. While we were seated quickly the service was very bad. The waiter didn't check on our food. It took the food to get out almost 45 minutes. The steak was absolutely disgusting and was all fat. It had no taste and I could feel the fat in every bite. I normally don't get steak here but I thought...how bad could a steak house ribeye be? I would expect this from a place that specializes in seafood or something like that but steak should be your best dish. We had to flag 3 people down before the Manger came. He comped the meal but honestly it was his lack of empathy or care most disturbing. He even tried to tell us like 40 percent of steak is fat. If that is the case then Outback should consider taking it off the menu. I've cooked better steak at home bought from Costco or BJs then this. Steak should not look like this or have zero taste when I'm spending 30 dollars on a meal.

I've known about this place for a while, and a friend reminded me that they recently changed locations. We were seated in the bar area at a high table and were given two menus: a happy hour menu that lasted until 6 PM and their regular menu. We figured we'd order a few things off of their happy hour menu while it was still going on, then move on to the regular menu after 6 PM, since we knew we'd be there for at least a couple of hours. We ordered a shrimp appetizer, gnocchi, fries, wine, and a white Cosmo to start. My absolute favorite was the grilled shrimp appetizer, even though the other two were very good as well. My friend's favorite was the gnocchi. From the regular menu, I ordered the ham and cheese croquettes and she ordered the regular cheese croquettes since she is vegetarian. We loved those as well. These four tapas were enough to serve as our dinner and we didn't have to order anything else. The service was fantastic and I thought that everything was priced very well. I liked that there was a parking lot right next-door. A friend met us. Later on for a final drink and mentioned that he liked this new location better than the old location. I would definitely return and try different tapas. Their entrées also looked very good. I really like this location because you can walk around and do other things after dinner in the area.

There is an areas where it is more intimate and quieter and another area where there are high tables that are close to the bar area. Service in the bar area and in the dining area were both wonderful. Both the waitress and bartender were awesome! I liked that the menu had items labeled gluten free. Always makes it easier. It was 3 of us that came out to celebrate my birthday and 2 of us ordered an entree and our other friend ordered tapas. We were all very happy with it. I had the grilled salmon and it was perfect! Since we got there a bit early we had enough time to order from the happy hour menu so we ordered Grilled Shrimp and Escargot and drinks of course. I love that they have a tray of desserts to showcase! Makes it easy or hard to choose from because they all look so good! I must say prices were good, service was wonderful, food was delicious! We all agreed we would go back!

It is way more spacious than their previous location and nicely decorated. We sat in a nice Modular Half Moon Restaurant Sofa in the back. Felt like I was looking down upon the rest of the guests having dinner. Nice table just felt a bit like we were on display however I still enjoyed as I love the style of these tables. Our waiter I think was new and definitely did not know wine. We asked for a bottle of the Merlot, which he pronounced back to us "Mer-LOT." I couldn't help but chuckle a bit when he left the table. Someone else came and opened the wine for us and when our main server came to check on us, he grazed the side of my glass and freaked, telling us the glasses are $500 each and if he breaks one, it comes out of his paycheck. Ummm what? This stuff we probably should not know! Again, I think he was new, probably not having much experience as a waiter. He definitely needs training on how to pronounce wine! Moving on to the cheese, they used to give you a cheese board with a few different cheeses. It's a bit different now. They give you whipped butter, a few pieces of cheese (last night was Cheddar), roasted red peppers, and whipped goat cheese with a touch of honey on top and some bread. Not sure if this changes/rotates at their new location. We chose not to do the raw bar or appetizer courses (fyi those are extra). For my salad, I chose the Signature Salad (forgot to take a picture of this course). This is where things went downhill for me. I asked for no apples. He said no problem. He did not tell us they ran out of the dried cranberries and caramelized nuts which to me make the whole salad. I used to love this salad at the old location. So, when telling us the specials he did say he "thinks" they had one salmon entree left, but had to check. Restaurants run out of things, and I get it, but take that salad off the menu if you're out of 2 ingredients and the customer asks for no apples. All that we got on our salads was lettuce, gorgonzola and fried potato skins. I feel like I had French fries on top of lettuce. It was awful. Also, I'm the only one that asked for no apples and my boyfriend got the same salad I got with only potato skins and lettuce and gorgonzola so clearly they were running out of things. We then saw other customers getting the same salad lacking main ingredients. For my entree, I got the Heavenly, which was supposed to have a lobster sauce. I couldn't put my finger on what the flavor of the sauce was. It was strange. It wasn't bad, it just didn't really go with the lobster. It had a brown tint to it. The manager came over after we ate and asked us how things were, and I told him about the salad and asked what the flavor in the sauce was. He told us a crab style sauce which made sense. Boyfriend had the filet. He said it wasn't Ruth's Chris good, but it was good. Mashed potatoes were very bland. Presentation was pretty bad. Dessert they get from a third party. I had the flourless chocolate cake which was the best part of the meal. Desserts are where they have improved with the new location. They used to give you petit fours style desserts, and now they give you full size desserts. It was delicious. I really want to like this place more because I like the concept of what they do. I guess on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays the chef creates whatever he'd like for guests for $25 a head. Mystery meals. The manager said that's where the name "Adventures in Eating" comes from. Again, we had come here previously, and I had a problem the last time with the Branzino where the waitress didn't tell me it came as the whole fish. Servers are friendly here, they just aren't top notch. Food is ok.

I might come back in the future to order that and some other stuff as a main. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. My mom had short rib which I didn't get a pic of but it was pretty good. I had the bbq mixed grill which was fine but all the meat was covered in a thick sweet bbq sauce which I wasn't expecting and I lost all flavor of the wood grill. I wouldn't order it again, but I definitely would come back here.

It was also well decorated for the Fall Season. There were a few employees that were visible at times, but they weren't organized in such a way to provide a typical lunch experience. The person who was working the bar also served as hostess and my server in the main eating area. So I waited a minute or so at the host stand to be greeted while she finished a drink. There was also hammering in the kitchen area for a decent part of my lunch. My server was very nice though and hustled to try to meet everyone's needs. I believe Ideal Tavern recently won the Southington Wing Fest. So I wanted to try the wings. I asked my server what the most popular wing flavors are and she didn't have an answer. I ordered the Sweet Chili Gorgonzola because it looked like the most interesting option. I also ordered an Ideal BLT Burger. The wings and burger were brought together, which I didn't ask for. That obviously defeats the purpose of ordering an app. The wings were meaty and had great texture. They were more glazed than sauced. I thought the Gorgonzola component would be more of a sauce but there were actual pieces of Gorgonzola cheese. The Gorgonzola was good quality. The burger was big and cooked to my requested medium rare. I didn't note any seasoning. The burger came with cheddar, which isn't the best melting cheese. You could tell they tried to melt the cheese, but the cheese broke off rather than stretched when I pulled at the side. The bacon seemed like it was probably high quality, possibly uncured bacon. The texture of it wasn't great for a burger. It was hard in parts and too difficult to chew. I also wish the LT part of the BLT had a bit more focus. I didn't think the Truffle Aioli worked for a BLT either. The fries had kind of a unique wide swoop cut style. I think Ideal Tavern could pay a bit more attention to the details of what makes a good customer experience. They have some good things to work with though. 3.75

While the server was fairly attentive, as she only checked in to fill the water glasses and ask how lunch was. She didn't ask us if we wanted a desert or coffee. Being old folks this would've been a great up for us, but it didn't happen. I had to ask for the check. I'm not sure if I would come back. I think this might be a one and done. The vibe just didn't hit it for me. Restrooms were clean. The restaurant was clean; the silverware clean. I don't know. It just was like a funky type layout and those beer kegs kinda sent the wrong tone to me as a guest. Lunch for the two of us was $40 and change and I left a $10 tip. We didn't have any cocktails or mock tails, we didn't have coffee or dessert either. I tried one and was impressed. It was cooked crispy and the chicken was juicy. We ended up finding a few pieces with issues and they were quickly replaced with a new batch. We tried the pulled pork & brisket. My son and I preferred the brisket while my husband liked the pulled pork. Many great sauces were shared. I've personally been there a half dozen times and the consistency of their amazing choices never disappoints. The prices are VERY reasonable as many great options (like my favorite) can be scored for under $20 a plate. We also didn't wait long for a seat and our food came out quick and obviously fresh and made to order. Load up the family and bring a big appetite! This is a great place to make yourself at home and "sit a spell."
