We ordered some burgers while we were next door at witch doctor brewing. Some of the best burgers I have had. They were cooked perfectly. The crew that delivers the food to you is also very nice. Great option to have for those of us too lazy to put our beer down and then to walk a couple hundred feet to get dinner. So many great options on the menu. They are a little pricey on some items but the food is definitely worth it. It's fresh and well made. The convenience of having them there makes it worth it.

This little takeout restaurant is located in the Factory Square. Based on the name, they are an experimental kitchen. There were tables out in the hall to eat at. They had a menu taped up on the window; it didn't match what they had on their website the day we went. I think they have a ever-changing menu. I really wanted to try out their Nashville hot chicken and fries but they ran out. I opted for the kimchi pork nachos and those were good. They had a wide variety to choose from that day; from hot dogs, cheese steak grinders, burgers, I wanted to try them all, they all sounded good. The service was good, they brought our food to the table for us. They also collaborate with Witch Doctor Brewery across the hall; you can order food and they will bring it to the tap room for you. I look forward to going back.

My first time here at dinner with a friend. I wasn't aware that it was "take-out" and not full service dining , but there are tables and chairs inside the corridor of the factory space. ( not necessarily a quiet place to enjoy dinner). I got this burrito which was really delicious! My only issue was that I found French fries inside of it? They really were quite soggy and took away from the burrito.... I don't know if they jumped inside by accident?

Ok, so good I can't tell you, great food, and fun friendly service. I'm definitely going back.

Food stand inside of a restored factory in Southington, along with a few others including Perkatory coffee, a candy store, and Hardcore Sweets. None of these places have seats, but there are both tables and couches in the common area between them. The place has a very small, but unique, menu that changes on a frequent basis, that is comprised of ~5 apps and main courses along with 1-2 deserts. When I came with my GF I got their BBQ chicken Mac & Cheese and it was pretty tasty. The people were very friendly as well, and since they didn't have any water glasses they poured some water for me into a disposable Tupperware bowl

Randomly took a chance on breakfast at the lab one day while we were grabbing coffee next door and we were not disappointed! My husband said the man working the counter was also preparing our food so a big round of applause to him for handling it all! The food had fantastic flavors all around! The hush puppies had a nice sweetness with the butter and our breakfast wrap had a mellow kick with the roasted jalapeños! Will definitely be going to back to try something new!

An experimental food shop, playing metal and delivering tasty bites for breakfast and lunch. This place makes my hipster heart light, and their execution is stellar. I love my weird locations, and on a whim Carli and I decided to go to this random place to get a bite to eat. It's in the middle of this converted factory, with long hallways leading to small shops. The Lab @kraftwich being one of them, which is nestled into one of these small little nooks. When I go in, there's a blast of metal and a small screen showing the breakfast menu. They don't have many options in this location, but that's the idea. The menu is on a rotation and changes frequently, giving the chefs the ability to create freely and keep the menu fresh. Today, the options were for the creole hush puppies and the NY Cheesecake Wontons. The wontons were creamy, sweet, and with a little bit of a ghram cracker crumb in the middle the cherry sauce that's drizzled on each gives it all the sensation of having a piece of cheesecake in a fried shell. A very tasty little dish. The creole hush puppies have a bit of spice and flavor as well. the caramel apple butter gives a sweet, rich taste to the salty, spicy hush puppy. A little heavy, but a solid bite as well. Despite the fact that everything is always on rotation, the food offered here is executed well and the flavors work. The location is neat, the food is great, and the variance is fun. It's a great little mecca for foodies to give a try to some tasty noms.

The Lab at Kraftwich is an experimental comfort food kitchen that opened in Southington, Connecticut in June 2022. It was founded by chefs James Brown and Larry Tapley. Brown had initially founded the Kraftwich Food Truck in February 2021. After buying out his partner, his wife came on board along with Larry Tapley. Brown and Tapley eventually built up such a strong following with their inventive menu items and unique offerings. The next logical step was to open a brick and mortar version of the food truck. Southington's historic Factory Square was chosen as the location of the new venture. Menu items include hush puppies, mashed potato dumplings, cider braised baby back ribs, rice bowls, salads, and crafty sandwiches. Menu items are also often craft beer-inspired. I stopped at The Lab at Kraftwich for the first time this past July. Several businesses located at Factory Square were offering special menu items to celebrate Harry Potter's birthday. Factory Square is located conveniently alongside the popular Farmington Canal Trail, so I cycled there. The Lab's Harry Potter offering that day was "Golden Snitch Hush Puppies" (golden fried hush puppies served with candied walnut and rum honey butter"). These hush puppies were excellent! The team did a great job at making a delicious sweet version of a savory treat. I'll definitely be back to try more of their crafty treats on a future visit to Factory Square!

Very happy with my online order for The Lab. I have been wanting to order for a while and so happy I decided to order today. I order the Honey Chicken Sandwich with tots. The chicken was cooked perfect. Definitely juicy. The flavor combo of the honey infused cheese with cherry and poblano compote a top the chicken was delicious. Each bite my mouth did a happy dance. The Tater tots were also perfect cooked. Crispy but not over cooked. The tot have a sweet and savory seasoning. I would have preferred a non sweet Tater tot with my sweet sandwich but that is just personal preference because they were still delicious. I ordered online and I received a text message when it was ready. Right outside the store is a great casual indoor seating area with cozy couches or table/chairs. Nice place to enjoy your tasty meal! Will be back again for sure.

Nice addition to the area. Innovative and changing menu weekly. Love that they have Avery sodas.

Reuben sandwich with side salad, hush puppies with maple butter, Avery's sarsaparilla

What a glorious find! First: the food is delicious, like "Ugh, I might have to move to this town" delicious. I had the corned beef Reuben sandwich, and it was unusually tasty, made with tender, thick slices of corned beef (the sign of a really good place, since c.b. takes a long time to make for it to be tender when sliced thick) and home made sauerkraut. Super flavorful. I ordered it with a side salad, and even *that* was unusually good, with an excellent, tangy dressing and crispy bacon lardons giving it a surprising depth of flavor. I'd read in another review that the hush puppies were great, so I got an order of them too; they were excellent as well. Also due to another review I got a bottle of locally made Avery's soda -- sarsaparilla -- and yeah, delicious too. Ok, so great food. The second thing: the space was soooo cool! The place is a storefront inside a converted brick factory building with other cool and interesting businesses, like a craft candy store, an arcade/bar, a brewery, and an axe throwing place! The music playing in the space was eclectic and great, and they allowed dogs in the place so my hound could hang with me and clean up any accidental food drops. This is definitely a destination spot. Go.

It was also well decorated for the Fall Season. There were a few employees that were visible at times, but they weren't organized in such a way to provide a typical lunch experience. The person who was working the bar also served as hostess and my server in the main eating area. So I waited a minute or so at the host stand to be greeted while she finished a drink. There was also hammering in the kitchen area for a decent part of my lunch. My server was very nice though and hustled to try to meet everyone's needs. I believe Ideal Tavern recently won the Southington Wing Fest. So I wanted to try the wings. I asked my server what the most popular wing flavors are and she didn't have an answer. I ordered the Sweet Chili Gorgonzola because it looked like the most interesting option. I also ordered an Ideal BLT Burger. The wings and burger were brought together, which I didn't ask for. That obviously defeats the purpose of ordering an app. The wings were meaty and had great texture. They were more glazed than sauced. I thought the Gorgonzola component would be more of a sauce but there were actual pieces of Gorgonzola cheese. The Gorgonzola was good quality. The burger was big and cooked to my requested medium rare. I didn't note any seasoning. The burger came with cheddar, which isn't the best melting cheese. You could tell they tried to melt the cheese, but the cheese broke off rather than stretched when I pulled at the side. The bacon seemed like it was probably high quality, possibly uncured bacon. The texture of it wasn't great for a burger. It was hard in parts and too difficult to chew. I also wish the LT part of the BLT had a bit more focus. I didn't think the Truffle Aioli worked for a BLT either. The fries had kind of a unique wide swoop cut style. I think Ideal Tavern could pay a bit more attention to the details of what makes a good customer experience. They have some good things to work with though. 3.75

Upon arriving we'd realized we'd eaten at this restaurant before (when it was in a different location) and eaten in this building before (when it was a different business). Caesar salad appetizer was excellent. Kids Mac and cheese was maybe one of the best Mac and cheeses we'd ever had, kids or not. And it was great as a pizza topping. My wife and I split a wagyu burger and The Craft Pie. The burger we believe we got someone else's, it was missing the espresso aioli and prosciutto jam. It wasn't until we finished it that we realized it was way different than we expected. The pizza was excellent however. I could have done without the pears but so many other flavors that were excellent, though the real winner was the sour cherries. I'd come back again just for this pizza.

As I walked through the front doors, I noticed kegs alongside on the floor. This was kind of a turn off, kind of reminds me of a dive bar. So my mentality kicked in that we were going into a dive bar serving food. I kinda get the sketchy feeling. Once we were seated, and menus placed, we were served iced water A few minutes later, the server came back and took our order. My friend ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and some string french fries. I ordered the 1/2 smoked chicken, which came with two sides. I chose the rattlesnake beans and the creamy macaroni and cheese. Also include included was cornbread I originally wanted the street corn, as a side, but it was not available. Our lunches came quick, and my friend only ate half the french fries and cheeseburger, as she wasn't really turned on by them. The smoked chicken was fairly dry, with a very interesting smoked flavor to it that I can't put my finger on. I eat about 1/3 of it. Left the rest on the plate. The creamy macaroni and cheese was out of bounds top-notch. I could've eaten this all day. The rattlesnake rice and beans were just OK. The rice was cooked pretty good, and was seasoned well. The beans had a weird taste. Now thinking of this side dish, I was hoping for raw onions to be on top, but they were nowhere to be found. It'll be nice if there was chopped raw onions to go with this. The cornbread was delicious. I ate about half of it. It was a generous slice. While the server was fairly attentive, as she only checked in to fill the water glasses and ask how lunch was. She didn't ask us if we wanted a desert or coffee. Being old folks this would've been a great up for us, but it didn't happen. I had to ask for the check. I'm not sure if I would come back. I think this might be a one and done. The vibe just didn't hit it for me. Restrooms were clean. The restaurant was clean; the silverware clean. I don't know. It just was like a funky type layout and those beer kegs kinda sent the wrong tone to me as a guest. Lunch for the two of us was $40 and change and I left a $10 tip. We didn't have any cocktails or mock tails, we didn't have coffee or dessert either. From what I understand, the owner was near the exit when we left, not even a smile or a thank you for coming in...

So friendly and attentive. Can't wait to try other items...everything looked good...it was hard to choose.

Then came this past Thanksgiving weekend where it required traveling on I-84 from Cape Cod to get to Danbury and my mom, sister and I decided to try you out. Now, I am in the dog house because they want to know when the next time that we are going. I had the chicken club and it was absolutely delicious. A huge piece of chicken with plenty of flavor. My sister had the short rib sandwich and was raving about it once we continued our drive saying she was so glad she had it even though she had short ribs herself for dinner the previous night. I don't know if that's an indictment on her cooking or what, but she loved it. The star however was the cod dinner that mom had. It was one of the flakiest and freshest pieces of fish she had ever had. We got a very late start to our trip, so by the time 2:00 came on the Saturday afternoon came, we practically had the whole place to ourselves. The only gripe that we had ( not that we necessarily would have changed anything ) was that we noticed after we ordered that the table next to us got a specials menu and we didn't. It was nice and quiet as our waitress let us have a quiet late lunch and if we were ever in the area ever again, we would make a b-line back to the restaurant.

The restaurant was still decorated for the holidays and everything looked beautiful from the lights and wreaths to all the fireplaces. After we arrived they brought out bread with some oil, parmesan and chili flakes for dipping. For our entrees, we tried the Filet, the Asian salmon and the shrimp and chicken dish. Everyone was very pleased with the taste and presentation. Our group stuck around and talked for a while and no one tried to rush us out which made for a very nice evening.

Our server Monica was the perfect mix of friendly, fun and perfectly accurate and informative- we couldn't have wished for better! The four of us shared the (fried mozz) spiedini appetizer which has now spoiled me for any other "fried mozz" soooooooo delicious and plenty for a party of four! Their cocktails and mocktails were perfect and generous. Our party ordered the cavatelli ( homemade pasta, with homemade mildy spicy Italian sausage) and delicious sauce; the stuffed chicken which quite honestly was one of the most amazing chicken dishes I've ever eaten - two thin golden cutlets with a mouthwatering ricotta, Gouda, spinach and sundried tomato filling - over freshly made mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. I shouldn't forget the warm, freshly baked rolls, butter and dipping oil! So good! This place is perfect for a date night, a group party or even a special occasion!

Apps came out before drinks and the food was super quick overall, service felt a bit slower but everyone was still very helpful, and friendly. The cacio e pepe was a little too peppery for me but maybe that's the point, the chicken cutlet was perfect...crispy and juicy and the meatballs had a great little kick. Ended with the cheesecake that was rich and creamy, wish there was a bit more crust. Overall, great vibes and I'd definitely be back to try something different

The bolognese was awesome and travels well, this is usually my go to there and it didn't disappoint. My husband had the bay chicken (I think that's what it was called) it was also really tasty and enough of a portion to fill up on. We had tiramisu which was a huge piece and really good, it's light and flavorful. Not overly sweet. My only complaint was the chicken parm grinder, not sure what it was but it was really bland, and it got lost in the bread. We had the garlic bread with heirloom tomatoes which was also very tasty. Overall as usual really good and will go back, might not try the sandwich again but the meals/apps/dessert were all on point
