We had breakfast here for the first time and I'm so glad we did. If you were here when it was Craft Kitchen - you know the space is small. But the decorations and cozy space make it the perfect breakfast/lunch nook! The waitresses were all sweet and worked together to take care of the busy room. They kept the coffee hot with refills. My husband had the Irish bene. He did say that the béchamel was sweeter than usual but enjoyed his meal. I asked for a corned beef and American cheese omelette thinking that I was going to get corned beef hash but just got shredded corned beef. It was overall a bit salty but definitely my mistake in not being more clear with what I wanted. I loved their home fries. We were there for brunch so my daughter had a burger with fries which was large and juicy. I didn't take a bite but it looked delicious. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day - Ani's menu has some interesting and delicious sounding options and I can't wait to come back to try more. read more

Great avocado toast here, comes with a fresh arugula salad with some strawberries. I would ask for no onions in it next time though. The menu is creative and features high quality eggs. Closer to 4 stars but not there yet. They just opened a week ago and clearly have some kinks to work out but definitely has some potential!!! I'll start with the needs improvement- they need more staff, our poor waitress was amazing but she had come in for an interview and they put her right to work but she was fantastic. Also the wait time for the food was very long. Kids were getting quite impatient but we did get our food before the table next to us who sat down first and had less people. Lastly , the food. I felt things were under seasoned. Eggs didn't have any sort of salt or pepper. Our crepe was crunchy (should be soft) and inside was frozen. They did take it off the bill so appreciated that. Pros- menu is great in terms of options and prices. The tres leches pancakes were phenomenal. The home fries my husband said were delicious but I thought could use seasoning. The French fries are very good as well and the bacon cooked well. Coffee was good better than most breakfast places. Overall will probably return once they have a few more weeks under their belt and maybe not at 10am on a Sunday when it seems they are their busiest. read more

I have subsequently been back to Ani's twice for breakfast and it's been a 5 star experience each time. The wait staff are so courteous and attentive and the food is so good. I have subsequently had the sizzle and skillet as well as the crab cake benedict and my family members had the strawberry cheese cake crepe and chorizo skillet. The skillets are so flavorful and easily equate to two filling meals. The cheesecake crepe was light and airy and had ample fresh fruit. Ani makes the best eggs Benedict I've ever had. The eggs are like clouds and the Hollandaise sauce is . Excited for an excuse to return for my next meal. read more

Great selection of food offered for breakfast and lunch. Second time here and it was just as good as the first. We had The Lox, Avocado Toast, short stack of French Toast, and the Shrimp and Grits Special. The staff was on tip of refilling water and coffees, and the dining room is super cute. The food was hearty and delicious. I had a skillet breakfast which was generous and well seasoned. My friend had French toast which was nicely done. The service was excellent and the coffee was regularly refilled. The ambience was more in line with a diner. This was surprising as the photos online suggested more of an upscale experience. The theme was nice and cozy but very, very crowded. The food took a while to come out. The pancakes had no flavor whatsoever. It was as if I was putting a towel in my mouth. Anis kitchen is a very local restaurant to me, I'm within walking distance of the place, and iv seen the bunnies that have come and gone in the plot they have, anis kitchen has struck a note of home food goodness while also maintaining a side of almost gourmet, like I can not say enough good things about the location the staff and the layout of the place, it feels very warm when walking in and the staff are always friendly! My wife and I ate dinner at Ani's Kitchen last night. We had a wonderful experience. The ambience, chic decorative dining room and Frank Sinatra serenading us. We we waited on by the owner, who is very friendly and started with the chicken soup, which was piping hot and delicious. Our entrees were Fettuccine seafood which was filling and delicious and my wife had the chicken pomodoro which she loved. This is a true hidden gem in Southington. read more
