My family came here for dinner after a day at the casino, and it was a nice spot that gave us a good meal. Waitstaff were kind and attentive. No issues there! Our waitress checked in on us and gave us good food recommendations. Definitely a plus! When I went to use the bathroom, they were completely out of soap. This was kind of a major issue for me. When someone else went to the bathroom, they saw the men's bathroom was also out of soap. This is unacceptable! We mentioned it to staff but they didn't seem to do anything with that. One kind member of staff had some extra soap and let us use it, which helped a lot. But still, not something that should happen. And both bathrooms being out makes me feel like this wasn't a last second issue. The food was good, I enjoyed my shepards pie. The chicken pot pie looked and tasted great, it was definitely a hit! Time for a couple drinks after dinner. This is my first time here! This restaurant is also located in Mohegan Sun casino. For my [next to the....] last drink of the night, I'm having a Bee's Old Fashioned made with Jim Beam bourbon, Elderflower Liqueur, honey hitters and a splash of soda waters. Boomer is having an Espresso made with Sobieski Vanilla Vodka, Kahlua, Ryan's Irish Cream, fresh coffee and fever free espresso. Both are nicely garnished and taste just right! For my food, I'm trying the New England Clam Chowder with oyster crackers. For his food, he is having a Bavarian Pretzel with warm cheese sauce. Mohegan Sun has its own water branded here! The clam chowder is hot and delicious! That's a lot of cheese to dip the pretzels! It's very good too! For his next drink, Boomer is having the Be Hoppy IPA made at Wormtown Brewery in Worcester, MA. Service was okay but could've been better. Our server was not attentive at all and it took about 15 minutes for her to acknowledge us after we were seated. Their chicken pot pie was interesting. It had the filling in a dish with a puff pastry placed on top. The filling part was sour as if the ingredients were spoiled; I had to send it back. The puff pastry was delicious. The soda bread was super hard and dry and inedible. Shepards pie was decent. With salt and pepper it was delicious. Bolognese pasta was mediocre at best. It needed lots of salt and more flavor. Pasta was cooked nicely. We didn't finish our meals nor did we pack it to go. Atmosphere is beautiful with red and black decor. There's a full bar, maybe even two because the restaurant is pretty big. Music was very loud and made it difficult to have conversation. My daughter and I tried Lansdowne last Fri night before the Kane Brown concert. We had drinks and appetizers we tried the taquitos pork and a Caesar salad and the corn beef egg rolls that was not my favorite a little greasy. Lansdowne Pub is a good Irish bar especially considering it's inside of a casino. My wings were decent & how I ordered them. The bartender was cool, had a decent whiskey conversation with him. Apparently they are separate from Mohegan which lets them stock bottles that you won't find in other parts of the casino. Nice Irish decor, it's a solid place. Service and music was great - But this was a classic case of disguising mediocre bar food with a nice atmosphere. Once in a while I'll still want a pub classic like Bangers and Mash or Fish and Chips...this time I selected the Guinness Beef Stew which sounded like it would hit the spot before a nice show at Mohegan, it tasted like Progresso Soup heated up and poured over boxed Mash Potatoes. Terrible "Irish Pub" food. I didn't expect authentic pub food, but it literally tasted like it was out of a can. I was so pleasantly surprised by this place! After just reading the menu, I was excited. There are so many dishes that sounded great and I had a hard time deciding. I ended up keeping it pretty basic, since I was prepping for a flight and didn't want to stuff myself. I had the New England Style Turkey Club Wrap. Basic, I know. But the flavors were NOT. It was truly one of the best wraps I've ever had! The fries were not as simple as they appeared, either. First of all, they didn't skimp on the portions in the slightest. But more than that, they were seasoned so beyond perfectly! Perhaps the highlight of our visit here was the outstanding service. Beginning with the hostess who was super welcoming and friendly, and complemented by our fantastic waitress. We asked what "donkey sauce" was, and instead of trying to describe it, she brought us a sample along with an order of their house chips. The sauce is pretty comparable to a Dijon mustard. We ordered a round of drinks for the table and everyone was pleased. I tried the Cranberry Mule, and it was strong while not being too much. Some of the worst service imaginable. Awful communication, incompetent and rude staff, DO NOT go to this place. It was practically empty on a Saturday night and it's easy to see why, maybe that should have been a warning to us. We went for the weekly "karaoke party" which takes place in the back room. There were multiple people standing at the door, I guess they were hosts but not clear. We specifically told them when we arrived we were there for karaoke, and they directed us to the back room and told us to sit anywhere. So we sat at one of the many empty tables in the back room. Within moments, not one but TWO extremely angry servers come over to us separately asking who told us to sit there, repeatedly saying "There are no servers back here. You have to order at the bar." In obnoxious, antagonistic tones. We tried repeatedly to explain we didn't mind ordering at the bar. No problem, we never asked to be served anyways and we're willing to follow whatever their process was. They came back repeatedly and continued making passive aggressive comments, accusing a completely sober memberof our group of being drunk because a chair accidentally fell over when he stood up. We were all completely baffled because at NO point did we make an issue about the service, the ordering process, etc but they seemed determined to make it a problem, to the point we felt the need to speak to management about the way we were being treated. This helped nothing of course, because nobody working there including management cared about customers one bit. We weren't complaining, we weren't asking for anything, we weren't expecting top notch service. All we wanted was a place to sit, have a few drinks, and sing some karaoke while celebrating a special event. They tried their hardest to ruin our night but eventually they left us alone and we were able to make the best of it and grabbed some ridiculously overpriced, mediocre drinks and snacks and had a decent time despite the uncomfortable atmosphere cultivated by their awful servers. We considered leaving, but since it seemed clear they wanted us to leave, we decided to stay out of spite. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place and cannot overstate how bizarre and unsettling the customer service was. All 5 members of our group legitimately could not believe what we were hearing, and we are not the types to complain about anything. Stop taking your bad days out on your customers, and make it clear what the protocol is during karaoke. Problem solved. read more

The vibe is very Irish, in that we've died and gone to Gaelic Heaven. There are Celtic crosses on every vertical surface, the menu is approximately 19 pages long, and the floorboards whisper tales of Jameson and sins long past. We asked for a table for four. Simple, right? Wrong. Despite many available tables, we were gently but firmly told we could not sit until all members of our party arrived--because apparently this is the Met Gala of pub seating. We stood there like four medieval travelers waiting for a blessing from the Hostess High Council. Eventually we were allowed to perch temporarily, which felt like winning a custody battle over four empty chairs. Now let's discuss our Queen of the Evening: The Recommendation Woman. This woman was on a full-blown spiritual quest for The Right Dish. She was canvassing the establishment like a door-to-door food missionary. She asked: * Every server. * Every guest. * The bartender. * The dishwasher (probably). * Possibly even the leprechaun (who reportedly told her to get the bangers and mash and then vanished into a framed portrait of the Cliffs of Moher). The lighting inside was dim but manageable, and the music was at a reasonable volume. I was considering one of the burgers with "donkey sauce" and asked what it was. The waitresses said they didn't really know how to explain it and would let me try it. I thought they would bring out a tiny sample of it that I could try with a spoon, but they brought out a whole order of chips with a side of the sauce. Talk about service! Even though the sauce was delicious, I ended up going with the prime rib sandwich which was amazing dipped in the jus. It's very busy on the weekends and depending on your group size you may have to wait up to 45 minutes or more. They do have a very automated reservation system as you will get a text when your table is ready, followed by a phone call. They only had one waitress that worked our section, so service was slow. Let me begin by saying not only is the food, service and entertainment awesome at Lansdowne, but the staff is unbelievable. I've been going there many years with my husband every time we visit Mohegan Sun, and have gotten to know a lot of the staff. Some have left, some are still there that we know. Unfortunately , last year my husband passed away. I came Monday and Tuesday to visit and some of the staff that are still there were unbelievably supportive when they found out my husband passed away. Not only are you a customer at their establishment but they make you feel like family. If you have never visited Lansdowne at Mohegan Sun it is the first place I would recommend. Manager would rather have these tables sit empty with fake reserved signs instead of folks who enjoy music and would actually buy food (I said I'd buy two apps even though I had just feasted at Tao tor over $400). With all the options to eat at the casino, we chose this one becasue we had a good experience in the past. Not a good experience this time. At first I was saying what I might get next time as the menu had many go options. But by the end we had both decided this was not the same experience we had in the past and do not want to go back. We hardly go out as we work so much and don't have the time or money. So an investment in a time out is very important to us. This should matter to this resturant as well. People who don't go out much tend to be very loyal to one place if they can count on a good experience. The food was good, but expensive for a pub. $115 for a fish sandwich, a burger, a chicken app and two bowls of chowder. LOTS of fries. I did get a lemonade, which I usually don't and my husband got two beers. The real issue for us was that we ate backwards. The sandwiches came before the app. Now they offered to cancel the apps, but to have your whole meal changed and your experience changed so much due to this mistake is a bad experience. We decided to get the apps, but quickly realized how hard it was to eat and have enough room on the table. I almost dumped my chowder twice off the table. Then I moved the chowder to my plate and had to put the plater for the chowder on an empty table next to us. I decided to write this review because of the lack of real sincere concern by the waitress. She did say the kitchen mixed up the order, but to be honest its her job to make sure to communicate with the kitchen and to check on her customers often enough to make sure they are getting what they ordered in the correct order. We were not going to send the sandwiches back to be remade later. The profit margin for resturants is so low I would never do that. The waitress was not around much and my husband had to drink my drink waiting for his second drink and I didn't get my water till I was ready to leave. All the waitress said to me was that she didn't forget me. We'll technically but I didn't need the water by the time she brought it. The resturant was not that full and neither was the bar. I don't know how much staff they had but there was staff walking around slowly checking on customers so there didn't seem to be a sense that they were super busy. Our waitress wasn't non existent, but not around a lot. Basically, make sure you actully seem sorry for mistakes made. We can spend our money somewhere else and we didn't ask for anything free or cause the resturant any losses. Just becasue a customer is not rude to you about an experimce, doesn't mean you solve the problem and they were ok with the experience. The cost of the meal was too much to not care about this experience. We could have gone for seafood in Mytic. Almost least a seafood stand for this much money. Even just saying you care if our experience is good. Literally saying you care would have helped. It took us awhile after we left to realize that is what was missing. read more
