We weren't even sure someone was going to come over to take our order as we only saw the bartender and no other waitstaff. Those ladies definitely hustled to manage it all. We ordered rather quickly when someone came to the table as we were afraid if we didn't it might be a long time before we saw someone again. Food took a very long time to come out, but it was worth the wait. I had a delicious Reuben with amazing house made fresh potato chips and my husband had chicken tenders and fries. This is clearly a well loved local spot. I would visit again.

The hubby read some of the other Yelper's comments and knew to go upstairs, really glad others mentioned that! The space is just big enough that you don't feel like it's tiny but just small enough to feel like you're right in the action. The bar tenders were friendly, they had lots of beer selections (not all on tap, many canned options) and the band turned out to be absolutely fabulous! Following Strange Brew on Facebook is a great way to find out about all their different shows (bands, trivia, comedy, etc) and I don't know why we waited so long to get there! We'll definitely be back.

May stop by again when it is warmer…read more Unfortunately, there is no sign on the door downstairs, at street level, to ask new patrons to go up the stairs, especially on a dark rainy night. A great thing is their response to Facebook requests for information. But, It was cold outside and when we came in, upstairs, it was cold inside too. So we decided to leave and find a place that was a bit warmer. Nite that there was plenty of seating and it looked like a nice venue. ***** Facebook response for parking. Thank you for your inquiry. There are a few options for parking including on street parking on both sides of the road. Our building is located on the right side of the road (Water Street is a one way road). There are also three parking garages across the street. Each are available for parking, two of them have signage that says otherwise but it does not apply to our business hours, 6pm till closed. There are a few other parking garages located in downtown within walking distance including Main Street parking garage. There is also parking available in the lot at the marina, about a two minute walk from us on the road running parallel with our road. Please feel free to ask any questions you have regarding the venue &/or event(s). Thanks! For the entryway their response: Sorry for delay, On the right side of the building their is a staircase. Although we own the entire building, we are located on the second floor.

Next time I'd ask for a cup of buffalo sauce on the side. Burger and fries were made to order and came out hot and fresh out the kitchen. I also had their equivalent to a rum punch x2 so good. We sat in the front room on the right that had a warm and toasty vibe, carpeted with a peculiar scent, but great people watching. The Black Sheep is an Irish pub in Niantic serving things like Shepherds Pie and Bangers and Mash…read more It's one of the few restaurants in Niantic, so if you've visited more than once, you've probably been to the Black Sheep. I prefer visiting during the warmer months, because it gives you the option of eating outside. I find the interior to be too dark and the tables are often found sticky. The food is decent and the portion sizes are good. The sides are basic. Definitely pick the sweet potato fries if you have any doubts. My son insists that the regular fries need more salt to even taste ok. The service has always been a little slow but when the food comes out, they always have plenty of help getting it to the table. Because it's a fixture to a town I love, I'm sure I'll be back.
