I always have great food and service at Outback Steakhouse, however , I decided to order takeout on 9-14. I ordered the wedge salad, a bowl and a cup of the potato soup. When I opened the salad, there was no salad dressing, the cup of soup had about 1 inch of watery soup with no potatoes at all. The bowl of soup was also very bland . I was really livid. I called and spoke to the manager, and she was sorry and said next time I go in, they will replace my order. I wanted my food when I got it! Not days or weeks later..... never will I order takeout again. So never got any satisfaction from this Outback.

I would recommend this restaurant for a down under dining experience. Even though I sat at the bar I was still provided a very pleasant full dining experience; special thanks to Damiana G. Very attentive and truly went the extra mile for me and my guest. Also, Damiana makes a good drink and I really admired how clean and welcoming the bar top was. The kitchen really impressed with their quick turn times. The food was very tasty; although everything was cooked very well, I would've liked the steak to be a little more seasoned with some brighter flavors... but I respect the Aussie flavors and approach. I will definitely be back to try more of their new menu. Well done guys

I don't frequent Outback, but while on a work trip, it was convenient, so, I decided to give it a try It was a Thursday night, and the restaurant was almost completely empty. I thought the ambiance was nice. The decor and lighting was inviting. The establishment seemed clean The food was pretty good. It came out in a timely manner, and everything was relatively tasty The staff was friendly, but the atmosphere was a little unprofessional. I sat at the bar and several employees just hovered near the bar. They were there the entire time. Management did the same. I think they were doing bar inventory, but I could overhear just about all the conversations and it felt somewhat uncomfortable Also, there were times where I would just sit there waiting for the ticket or water or something for a long time before anyone would notice. Again, everyone was just standing around, so, it felt like I was being ignored. I also didn't like everyone just standing around. I'm not exaggerating when I say at one point there were at least 10 employees just standing around the bar Now, my server was very nice and helpful. And even management turned to ask how I was doing at some point. Even the hostess wished me a good night which was nice Some tips: Sign up for their rewards and get a free Bloomin' Onion. Also, if you get a to go box, ask for some pumpernickel bread and butter to go Cheers!!

So I had the pleasure of trying Outback Steakhouse on a Monday night near closing and actually really enjoyed it! I was surprised to see the restaurant not having that many people but was more than grateful than anything not having to wait a long time. The timing of the food being ready and efficient movement from our waiter was really quick and on it. For example, Charles was attentive on the refills and anything we needed was done in a flash! The server was also very on point and kind. Customer service there is definitely up to par. The food was very tasty, I enjoyed the Lobster Macaroni and my Toowoomba Salmon was delicious as well. The appetizers Coconut Shrimp and Blooming Onion were so addictive, we had to get another of them! Overall, I would recommend trying this chill & relaxing atmosphere. I had no issues whatsoever and enjoyed my time at Outback Steakhouse!

Came around 2pm and it was pretty slow/quiet. Clean space everywhere I looked (even the restrooms lol) I truly enjoy visiting places where we could see that the employees are also happy. You could see the teamwork, hear the laughs, but also know we are getting taken care of. We were immediately greeted with open doors and smiles . We were sat and then greeted by Rose. She was Amazing!!! She asked the perfect questions leaving no room for error. She followed up after being served, making sure we were set, always popping by in a timely fashion, oooh and she had our drinks filled. Big Kudos Food was yummy. Juicy chicken and burger. Shrimp was good. (Flavors of the blooming onion... but with shrimp!) Thank you for allowing the hubby and I to enjoy this lovely meal. Nurture your employees and great results will be evident

Steak and lobster $19.99 can't beat it.

Tried to get dinner here on monday night. Doors were open, but the hostess told me they closed early due to slow business: it was minutes before 10 pm. Okay, we left and went elsewhere. I really wanted to try that lobster deal, though. So, we stopped in yesterday for lunch, so we wouldn't risk another early closing. Food was satisfying. The lobster was delicious, but steak a little flavorless and tough, veggies also hard and bland: needs a little work: hey, can't beat it for $19.99, though. The atmosphere was nice and clean, and our young server, I'm hardly good at remembering names, was very kind and attentive. We'll definitely go back to take advantage of the low-priced lobster and steak deal. Mostly for the lobster, or maybe we should try another type of steak meat?

I will always remember it as one of the most memorable Anniversary dinners. We stopped in the afternoon prior to our evening dinner. We were greeted by a young gentleman, who after telling him we'd be dining there that evening. He took us on a tour of their dining rooms and helped us reserve a quiet table in an intimate dining area over looking the piano bar. Upon leaving he introduced himself as Robbie, the Executive Chef. Thank you Robbie for taking the time to select our perfect table! When we arrived for dinner, our table was adorned with rose pedals as well as anniversary wishes. Our waiter Carlos couldn't have been more attentive. Even though he had more tables to serve, he made us feel that he was exclusively ours! He helped us decide on our main filet entree and made recommendations as to compatible sides. The dinner was FABULOUS; not to mention our complimentary dessert! Thank you Carlos for making us feel so very special! This is a must try dining experience!!!

The food was AMAZING. We shared a crab cake for an app and it was probably the best crab cake I've ever eaten. My steak was cooked very well. My wife (with my encouragement) ordered the Alaskan King Crab legs. I knew that I wanted a little, So she ordered a pound, which was MKT priced. There was a huge sticker shock when I got the bill ($295 for the crab legs!!!), they were amazing. The bar had a nice bourbon selection. We will definitely add this to our rotation.

Luckily, we had dinner at Boudro's before a ghost tour, and neither one of these events was scary. We started with the oysters which were unique and delicious. Our mains were the blackened fish and the quail. Both were very tasty. Drinks were good, bread was good, and service was fine if a little slow. We sat outside and enjoyed the views. After some bad meals on the river, we were glad Boudro's was so good!

So after reading the reviews for Boudro's, we decided to roll the dice. We started with the tableside guacamole. It's fun watching it being made right in front of you, and the guacamole was good. The flavors were more subtle than bold. Solid. Enjoyable. But I'm not running out to find a postcard to send home to Mama about it. Next came a Caprese-like salad. Again, good. Again, not life changing. Then we met the bread. Oh, that bread. Flaky on the outside. Tender and fluffy inside. This was the point where Boudro's officially had my attention. I could have ordered another basket, called it dinner and walked away perfectly happy. I'm getting hungry just writing about it. Then my wife and I shared the Pollo Asado. The menu describes it as a "Grilled Airline Chicken Breast." Airline chicken? I've been flying for decades. The words "airline" and "chicken" appearing together have never triggered pleasant memories. Thankfully, I learned that this wasn't THAT kind of airline chicken. It was marinated with adobo de achiote, citrus juices and olive oil, grilled over mesquite and oak, then served with caramelized corn, black beans and pineapple pico. And it was excellent. Beautifully prepared, juicy and packed with flavor. The pineapple pico and everything else on the plate worked together wonderfully. The bread had finally found its co-star. Overall, Boudro's didn't feel like the River Walk tourist trap we'd been warned about. Not every dish knocked us over, but everything was good, the Pollo Asado was excellent, and I'm still thinking about that bread. Four stars. And I've officially forgiven them for putting the word "airline" anywhere near my chicken.

They have a huge wine list -if you're a wine lover I am sure they will have something you like or a wine to satisfy your taste buds. Full bar is available. Food was cooked perfectly and to order. I love that the waiter was so receptive of how we ordered the food. I've been to places where waiter repeatedly insists on trying a certain meat cooked in a particular fashion. Look, got it. Let me just put this up front: Expectations exceeded! Upon entering the restaurant, we were verbally greeted with a hearty salutation by no fewer than five, count them, five members of the staff! Once we were seated, Jacob took our water and soft drink preferences, immediately followed by Danny, who was carrying four glasses of champagne in celebration of my hubby's day. After passing out the menus, Danny regaled us with some "off-menu" offerings, that while sounding delicious, couldn't sway us from our already chosen selections: sea bass for the birthday boy -- who was slightly disappointed to learn that it was sold out -- who had to "settle" for the snapper royale (snapper topped with crab and scallops); ribeye for my younger son; crab cake appetizer for my entree; and, crab cake entree for my older son. My sons split a Caesar salad, and their dad had a small one, all sans anchovies, while I had the French onion soup as our first plates. The salads were scrumptious and more than enough for each of my guys while it took me a minute to delightfully work my way through the soup that was generously topped by a mountain of cheese. Our entrees, and our sides (creamed spinach, jumbo asparagus, and two-cheese mac and cheese, all 3 yummy) were simply superior to our preconceived ideas. My husband's snapper was smoky and tender while my younger son said his steak, prepared medium, was "perfect." The difference between my app-sized crab cake my son's entree was that both of his were larger in circumference and height. The texture was -- now, I'm going to refrain from using the "m" word ("moist"), because that might give the connotation that they were filled primarily with mushy breading, was succulent, overloaded w/crab. Perfect nite was had by the bday boy and fam!

For 73 years, The Barn Door has been more than a great restaurant; it has been an inexorable piece of San Antonio history. Last week, The Barn Door announced on Facebook that its final day of service will be Sunday, May 11th (Mother's Day). The Barn Door has been an outstanding steakhouse in the truest sense. They've never relied on gimmicks or culinary trends--they've relied on the tried-and-true flavors that have maintained a loyal clientele for decades. I'm taking about hand-cut, primal cuts of beef grilled over real mesquite, delivering that unmistakable South Texas char. I'm referring to plump, wild-caught shrimp from the Gulf Coast, the famous yeast rolls, and tubs of homemade salad dressings. If you've been there, you know how special the overall experience has been. I've read many heartfelt comments on social media asking why such a successful institution would cease operations. Well, dear reader, I have a unique insight into why. Randy Stokes has poured his heart into the restaurant, but he merely leases the building--not the land--from the Straus family. Approximately seven months ago, Mr. Straus decided to sell the dirt beneath the "Barn" to a real estate developer. The plan? To raze this historic site and erect modern condos. It's a familiar story of urban expansion, but it doesn't make the loss any easier to swallow. But before we close the door on "The Barn" forever, a glimmer of hope looms on the horizon. Randy Stokes and his team aren't necessarily hanging up their aprons for good. According to a reliable anonymous source, the team has expressed a desire to reopen The Barn Door at a new location, with eyes set currently on the city's North Side. I hope the promise of a new location comes to fruition, but even if The Barn Door closes forever, I will cherish all the wonderful memories of dining there with my parents and grandparents over the years. I will remember the ingratiating staff, the unique ambience, and the hundreds of delicious meals I've crammed down my gullet.
