First time I have tried going to Outback for lunch. It wasn't very busy and now I see why. Our server name was Sabrina, she was nice but was a complete ditz. We both ordered hamburgers with no mustard. When the order came one came with mustard. When we told the waitress that the burger had mustard on it she said maybe the other burger has mustard on it? Like she got our orders mixed up and she had a look on her face like it was our fault. Never admitted that they screwed up. So she went back and got another bun. After that she never came back, she never offered us drink refills or asked how our meals were, in fact we were the only customers on that side of the restuarant and probably her only table. She might have been new but seemed to have hardly any customer service skills or serving skills. So if you want good service I recommend not going to Outback for lunch because the service is slow, unless it was just our server who lacked skills. I don't think I will ever go back there for lunch just dinner but I hope the waiters at night are more skilled then the day servers. read more

It is your typical outback. It taste just like all other outbacks. Service is good. I like to sit at the bar at this location. The bar staff is very friendly. Ordering Togo here is always easy and quick. I've never had an order incorrect! The location however is next to a busy restaurant, that takes up most of the parking spaces. read more

My experience this evening was less than stellar. We came in to use up a gift card, and I wish we hadn't! I usually avoid going here, and this experience reinforced that. We were seated right away, and given the option of a table or half booth, which was appreciated as I despise their table set up! More on that later. The hostess was friendly and engaging. Our server, Brandon, came over right away and got us settled. When asked about one of the dishes, the Teriyaki Medallions, he gave an adequate description which helped my companion make his selection. The bread smelled off to me -- kind of like a hot, wet sponge -- so I didn't eat it. My companions did not notice anything, but they are admittedly easy to please. The wait for the food was about normal -- the restaurant was neither packed nor slow, and the kitchen turned out the food in good time. When the food arrived, it looked and smelled wonderful. The broccoli and aussie fries were tasty, and my companien's entrees were cooked as ordered. Mine however, was not. We each asked for our steaks to be cooked medium well, but mine came out rare plus, at best. The center and outside were only warm -- not even approaching something that could be considered "hot" -- and bright, vivid red. I understand that mix ups and mistakes can and do happen, and while I was not offered an explaination, Brandon was kind and accomodating about the error and took the steak back to the kitchen be "cooked-up". Something must have been awry in the kitchen this evening, as both tables next to us and one in front also had food issues. During the wait, my companions finished eating, leaving an awkward end of the meal when my new steak was delivered. The manager, Megan, brought it over and apologized profusely.. For whatever reason, there was now rice with my steak which I had not previously ordered. Odd, but fine. As I finished my meal, Megan came back to our table and once again apologized, offering dessert on the house for the trouble. We declined since not only had the last half of our time there had been so awkward with only one of us eating, but I cannot eat most desserts, and certainly none that they had available. Overall, the service recovery skills the staff showed were great. When the check arrived, I was disappointed. We were charged full price for everything. I did not ask for any kind of compensation, but I hoped the gesture would be made since they seemed so dedicated to making the experience better. I will close with a note regarding the safety of the customers here: This location, as the three other Outbacks I have been to over the last ten years, is cramped. The way the tables are situated makes for some close calls with *very* hot food being precariously raised above the heads of patrons sitting at their tables. read more

Outback is perhaps not as good as it used to be. A friend took me to celebrate my birthday. Ordered the grilled shrimp appetizer and the prime rib french dip sandwich. Apparently they no longer have the remoulade sauce to go with the shrimp. A server valiantly tried to make it but it really just turned out to taste like thousand island dressing. The shrimp were still good, though, and there were more of them (8) than there used to be (6). The sandwich was a huge disappointment. Overpowered with the flavor of too many onions and no other flavor (like MEAT for example) to stand on. Also, was served on a sour dough bun which did not add to the flavor quotient. I informed the server, who was just as nice as could be, and he had the manager come over, and she was extremely nice as well. When I provide feedback to a manager (who the server sent over automatically; I did not ask to speak with her), it's more to help the experience for future diners; I'm not trying to get them to comp. anything and, since I was not paying, I don't know whether or not they did. I do think that next time, I might opt for the new Lone Star Steak House that's opened up across the street and see if they can do better. read more

Ok ok ok, we come here a lot! The biggest problem I have is the rules are always changing. If it's a holiday you cannot do call ahead sitting. Been told this several times in the past. Tonight I arrive for Mother's Day and the first thing they ask me is if I called ahead. UGH! So hour and a half wait it is. The hostess was terrific! So pleasant, helpful and informative during our wait. Fast forward through dinner. I really disliked my usual meal of coconut shrimp. Turns out the wonderful hostess was the manager. In all honesty I couldn't care less about anything else that's going on around me when I have a really good seat in front of me. As long as that's taken care of they can literally kick me in the face and I'd still give them five stars because all I care about is the steak.... Giving this place three stars is probably generous given my first experience. The wait time on a Wednesday night was not bad, less than 10 minutes. The place was not at capacity. I accompanied my parents to celebrate my dad's birthday. I ordered the crab cake dinner for 18.99 and got the chicken tortilla soup and mixed vegetables as sides. Dad's delicious sirloin appeared to be the best deal at 12.97 with one side and my mom ordered the "dry" prime rib sandwich. Here's the deal breaker. Besides me getting a tiny ice tea spoon for my tortilla soup, we had to ask the waiter for utensils after my parents got served house salads as their sides. Other wait staff just ignored our hand signals. Our waiter finally came and didn't even apologize, but blamed it on running out of them. Seriously? Give us plastic forks if you run out, but don't leave us hanging. Anyways, besides not filling our waters because apparently when you order just water, they don't treat you the same way as if you order priced beverages, the waiter anxiously wanted us to leave mid way through our meal asking "is that it for you guys or did you want to order dessert?" Sorry sir, I am still finishing my salty, over fried crab cake savoring it because of the price and not because it tastes any good. Of course, I didn't say that :). Great dinner our first at this outback. We had the 3 course special that they have for wed nights. From $12.95 for a starter we had blue cheese wedge salad a 6oz sirloin and there cheese cake which is so good. Despite it been a busy night service was fast and food was fresh and tasty, steak was cooked as we asked. Server was new but he was very attentive and manager introduced himself and asked us how food was which was nice . I went to this Outback when it first opened in Florida years ago and it was amazing and thru the years in Illinois it was great also. Yesterday I was at the Cactus Road restaurant with a friend. We have been there before and it was just Okay but yesterday what a disappointment. My friend had the coconut shrimp and a small blooming onion and it looked and smelled like the food was friend in very old oil. The shrimp had a too heavy breading that just fell off when she lifted the shrimp. I had a Cobb salad with some chicken strips. Evidently they don't know how to make a Cobb salad. Great loads of lettuce, and just a sprinkle of bacon, cheese and crumbled hard boiled egg. For $17 it is very over priced. Not going back. I know I didn't have a steak but my friend wanted to go for the Coconut shrimp and she was disappointed. read more

A steakhouse that doesn't know how to cook a steak. Been coming here for years. My husband loved the bloomin petals. Well now they only serve then at happy hour. The steak has always been a hit or miss on cooking. Order medium well. It comes rare. 8 of 10 times have to send it back. This time the blue cheese salad was old and tasteless. Waitress seemed angry and pretty much stayed away, having to flag her down to send the steak back. So the good is no bloomin petals so no more outback. Good for me! Try claim jumpers steak. They cook it right and the steaks are delicious if outback reads these, we are the ones who practically had to beg for the bloomin petals off hours, and then were ignored from the waitress. Had to flag her down for drinks and steak recook. We left still left a tip- we normally leave 30% for good service. But this service was as bad as the food. read more

They were burnt to the point where they looked blackened. They were charred. When I brought it to the attention of the manager on duty, he used phrases like "unfortunately you requested well done" and "You should just ordered it...". He had the nerve to snap at my husband about fish being blackened, not steak.... no crap!!!!! Deplorable. For a steakhouse that pretends to be on the less expensive end of the spectrum, please don't be less expensive because the cook has trouble with medium well and well done. That manager was incredibly condescending and curt. As a result, I'm leaving this review. I still can't believe the manager copped an attitude. He needs to be trained in the art of customer service. It had been a long while since we'd been to Outback so one weeknight recently craving steaks we returned. The menu has changed (evolved?) since I was last there, more choices with steaks seasonings, expanded menu offerings, etc. Frankly it was just confusing to me. I just want the old Outback steak thank you. Ordered the 8oz sirlion & shrimp w/ the famous house salad and grilled asparagus (new item) for sides. Well, the steak was pretty good and cooked as requested . The 3 little shrimp were somewhat bland and did not excite, salad was skimpy from what I recalled from the past, and the grilled asparagus was Ewwwwh. Asparagus looked like it had been waiting for my order and then reheated or regrilled. Did I mention that our waiter assured me this was a very popular item receiving many rave reviews?? - oh, and I got to pay $1 upcharge for this little vegetable gem. Tough stalks and had a smoky taste that didn't work either - I was NOT impressed. Crazy perhaps that I am ranting about a vegetable but I was really looking forward to this item and Outback really blew it. Service was mostly efficient although the waiter bordered on being hovering and too familiar. Out of my face please I am trying to eat here. Overall I have to say this was a disappointing experience. Outback is not cheap by any means. There are plenty of other better places to go for steak. Outback would do well to return to what made them famous in the first place (it's the food, stupid). Based on this experience, it will be a long while before I decide to go back to Outback. read more

I ordered a $22 steak for lunch, to go, for my wife as a special lunch for her. I was told it came with 2 sides. Much to my dismay, they forgot to include the cream spinach. Only one side, although I paid for two. What a hassle it was to call the restaurant, wait for the manager, with a cheap offer...no free meal...for all my time and aggravation. The steak was no good, either. I had a great meal last night at Boston market, for less than half the price, also a to go order. And they didn't forget the cream spinach. Very disappointing. Sat on the patio, from the time of order until receiving our food it was 1 hour. Staff did not communicate apologies or offer to check on status of food either. Waitress did not refill drinks or pick up dirty dishes from the table. Twice we had to get up to go inside to ask for drinks, to-go box and our check. Menus sat on the table the whole meal. I would put more stars but the hostess wasn't very good for example he didn't even tell us his name so I don't know what name to put. He made no eye contact, and had a bad attitude. Our waitress was inattentive, we literally waited 10 minutes just for a soda refill (we shouldn't have to ask for a soda refill they should just notice), we ended up using the electronics to help the waitress do her job. Our blooming onion was overcooked and tasted like it had been fried in bad oil, and did I mention we got no silverware and had to ask for that too because she didn't bring out silverware with it? And when we did ask the waitress for silverware and a new drink she said (with an attitude) that she was the only server (which wasn't true we saw multiple servers serving) and that she was busy. Yesterday for a nice Birthday lunch I went to outback and was baffled by the rude service I received and questionable discrimination/racism.My fiancé and I waited 15 minutes for the server to even take our drink orders he also never introduced himself I had to get his name off the receipt (Tyler M.). Tyler M.was also not knowledgeable of the menu I ended up getting something I really didn't want because we were there already and I was hungry. The thing that bothered me the most was I watched the manager come out and greet every single table but ours. I also happened to notice we were the only minority table in the entire place. He never did make a second round to ask us how everything was.
