We stopped ordering from Outback because things were bad. We tried to give them another chance. After spending $100 on dinner for two they didn't even deliver everything we ordered. Completely forgot dessert and loaded baked potato. This is a picture of a medium rare steak which is obviously prepared WRONG. Another fail for Outback!!! Brought the dessert back but forgot the whipped cream and strawberries that go on top. read more

Outback Steakhouse - Medium rare steak (obviously not prepared correctly) - Steakhouses Near Me - Naperville, Illinois

What happened to the delicious meals the Outback Steakhouse used to serve? On January 9, 2023, my wife and I went to the Naperville, Illinois, location. My wife and I both received overdone, fairly tough steaks that appeared and tasted like they had been reheated. Additionally, the charred ribs I got were overcooked, appeared and tasted like they had been reheated, and were covered in an excessive amount of barbecue sauce (perhaps to disguise problems with the ribs?). Overall, the Outback Steakhouse's pricing are completely out of line with the caliber of the food they offer. My wife and I will choose a nearby competitor restaurant that serves superior steaks and is less expensive the next time we go out to dinner. read more

Very nice place and perfect with social distancing. Had a sirloin and chicken. Sirloin was good as you would expect a sirloin to be. Chicken was overcooked and very dry. The seasoning on them was just wonderful though a little on the salty side for those that have an aversion to salt. Their bread-and-butter were absolutely fabulous. Waitress was very nice and attentive. read more

I recently dined at the Naperville location and while my server Charlotte was great, the hostess Patty was very rude and somehat discriminatory! I was on lunch and decided to go to Outback. Upon arriving I was asked if I wanted to sit at the bar and I declined so she took me to the other side of the restaurant where nearly all of the seating was occupied. So I asked if I could sit on the other side (which was nearly empty) and she grabbed the menu with aggression and said "sure" when I was seated I said thank you and she said nothing. My fiancé dropped me off and came in after me , he asked to be seated with the young lady that just came in and she told him no one came in???? He said "I just dropped her off" She then said "I can't under you with your mask on" He stepped back and took it off and was about to speak and she then said " You can't take it off, I will get the manager." The manager brought him straight to me. He knew but she sat me down and didn't remember??? While eating I could hear her asking guests as they were exiting "How was your food? , Enjoy your evening." As I was leaving I saw her raise her head and she then put it back down when she real it was me (a consumer) leaving. I wasn't asked how my food was or told to have a great day. I then walked over to her and asked her name and told her Yes, I enjoyed my food and I would have a good evening once I spoke to corporate about her. read more

Thank you to Ricky working the ToGo area. He was working so hard to get my order and many other orders fixed. He was fast and knew what he was doing! The supervisor of this location would do well to give Ricky a large raise. If it wasn't for him I would not order again. read more

Very disappointed in the service and the throw up in the outside planter on the patio as I walk up to the restaurant! Food was okay but I would of been more satisfied going to Burger King for about $80 less!! read more

I placed my order. Needed to change pick up time as I was running late. After the phone rang at least 15 times, someone answered and said "hello". I said is this Outback, they said "yeah". Annoyed, I proceeded to explain I would be later than anticipated. He was not helpful at all! Said ok. Didn't bother to ask who I was or what my order was. Just hung up. I called back - same response only this time, I offered my name and order and made sure they added the bacon and mayonnaise on my burger order. Sure enough, when I get there.... No bacon or mayonnaise as requested in the special section and during the call. And the fries were old and burger cold. 100% disappointed! Would absolutely NOT recommend at all! Go up the street to Lazy Dog. Even Culver's would have been better. Still mad I wasted my money! read more

Steaks were undercooked, served was slow. Got drink order wrong. Slow on drink refills, porterhouse was very fatty. Gave us check THEN asked if we wanted anything more. We will not be back to this Outback again. read more

Bad from the start! Stepped into restaurant waited about 10 min. Waiter shows up and drops off bill to a sitting customer walks back towards kitchen and takes another customers order . Totally ignored us. We poke our head to another server and she ignores and continues to keep talking. Waited another 5 or so min and walked out. If you cant be in the front to greet your customers within 15 to 20 min and your servers are not told to watch the front until someone can , then I can't imagine giving you my business either. Went to Sullivan's steak house instead. read more

The steak is amazing! My highest compliment to a steakhouse is that it needs no sauce, because it would only take away from the chef's masterpiece. The servers are so sweet, we really feel like we have friends here. Management is just as wonderful, when my wife was pregnant her morning sickness kept her from being able to enjoy most of the meal, no fault of the restaurant! Nonetheless, the manager sent us home with a generous gift card and coupons for our next visit, just because we weren't able to fully enjoy our meal. Seriously??? Nobody does that. We are so thankful for the kindness and generosity at this restaurant =) read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants so it's not surprising that I wanted to order takeout for Mother's Day. What a complete mistake that was!!! We could not get through via phone and the online ordering system completely crashed. When we were finally able to order online, we were given a pickup time of 7:13p. We arrived about 10 minutes early and to our surprise there was a line of cards wrapped around the building. It took 2 HOURS to finally receive our order and we had to keep asking about it to stay on their radar. Not once did a manager step out to talk to us or offer an apology. When we got home, the ENTIRE order was wrong. And because it was so late, we couldn't call them because they were closed. This is completely disheartening and unacceptable especially for Mother's Day! read more

Very glad to learn that they were doing curbside pickup on Mother's Day. We placed an order for 5 pm pickup. They gave it to us at 5:54 pm. Not sure what their issue was in not being able to manage things. Didn't even get a "sorry for the delay". If I hadn't already paid, I would have left the line. I hope they're having a review meeting today to figure out how to fix things. read more

Outback Steakhouse - Steakhouses Near Me - Naperville, Illinois

We came to Outback Steakhouse to celebrate my mom's birthday. I've always been a pretty big fan of outback; they are good at what they do. Back in the old days, I used to love their burgers. Now that I'm an adult, I've graduated to the steak... pretty good choice here, since ya know, it's a steakhouse. Our party of 7 arrived at different times but our table was ready upon arrival. Restaurant wasn't too full but they moved people in and out the entire time. I never saw anyone waiting at the door. I'll strictly speak about what I ate. I ordered a bowl of the french onion soup to start. Perfect blend of onions, cheese, and bread. I added some of their brown table bread to my soup as well; that stuff is addicting! For my entree, I ordered the 9 oz. Victoria Filet with a side of fresh veggies and fresh broccoli. I requested my steak to be cook medium rare. The soup, as well as the entree, took a little bit longer to arrive than it should have. Our server, Jesus, didn't do the greatest job refilling our drinks, either. He wasn't terrible, but he did nothing to really stand out. The food was awesome! My vegetables were cooked to my liking (steamed, no butter/oil). There was actually a decent amount on the plate as well; sometimes steakhouses skimp on the sides but Outback did not. As for the steak... WOW! I haven't had too many steaks in my lifetime, but this was one to remember! It was cooked medium rare, too! Great seasoning and sear on the outside as well. I usually have my steaks cooked medium, but when I went to an outback four years ago, my medium steak was a hockey puck! Definitely not the case here... best part of the meal by far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone else seemed satisfied with their meals. Others in my party ordered a burger, coconut shrimp, and some combinations. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Outback. There's a lot of restaurants in the Fox Valley area, but quality is hard to come by. Even though it's a chain (I'm all for small, independent businesses), check out this location! read more

For an early supper, we decided to try Outback's four courses for $ 14.99. Good decision. I had the Cesar salad, tortilla soup, a butt steak with sweet potato and raspberry cheesecake for dessert. My four courses were all excellent. Virginia had French Onion soup with a house salad, Chicken Marsala and Carrot Cake. Her French Onion soup was not up to her standards...not enough onions, broth tasted like beef bouillon. Her carrot cake was not outstanding and I thought her Marsala was dry and had a funny taste to it not at all like Chicken Marsala in other restaurants. Our server Steven was excellent. Overall a very good value. read more

We stopped in on Easter since Kids eat free and I'm Cheap like that! Now, since I'm on a diet I had to be careful as to what I ordered. We started with a Blooming Onion; it was around then I realized my diet was screwed since I am relatively sure that by bite number two, I had already eaten my calories for the day. At that point it was all downhill... For some reason, all of these chain restaurants have to have great Bread and Butter. After eating my fifth roll slathered in tasty butter, our Salad arrived. FINALLY a healthy item!... Covered in Bacon and Blue Cheese dressing. Most certainly tasted good! Then we had the Steak, since it is a steak house we all know that that's going to be good, so let's focus on the side. A sweet Potato covered in Brown Sugar and Butter! Yum! Could have used a bit more butter though since every bite was not a 33/33/33 ratio of potato/butter/sugar like it is supposed to be (hence the 4 star rating). Overall, the kids ate free and I ate their left overs for dessert! Felling Skinny already! :-) read more

So - this is more of a shout out for bacon than a review of the restaurant. But it does illustrate their attentiveness, I suppose. I decided to have a burger for dinner one night, and instead of calling in my order, placed it online. What can I say, I was lazy, and I was online looking up the phone number anyway. As I am stepping through the order process, I can't help but notice that they appear to be offering to add bacon to my burger *for free.* Of course I want bacon, what a stupid question. If you're going to give it to me for free, I want it on everything, I don't care what it is I'm ordering. Roofing nails, 3 piece suit, breakfast cereal, anything. I feel like Outback, with it's free bacon policy, has the pulse of American culture these days (get fat as fast as you can.) So, I get to the place, pull in to the curbside parking spot, and the waitress (carhop?) comes out almost immediately. She gives me the food, and comments, "We didn't know if you wanted bacon on the burger, or on your fries. So we put it on both." Are you an angel? All that aside, the burger was pretty tasty. Actually came with some pink in the middle, which I consider rare (no pun intended) these days at your non-fast food burger joints. And the blooming onion pieces were very good. High marks for timing it properly - even when I got done driving home, the fries and onion pieces were still crispy, not steamed from sitting around (take a page, Motel Bar). My only suggestion would have been to offer a cheese selection - the Kraft Singles-like piece of American cheese was fine, but actual cheese might have been better. read more

Outback is always a safe place to eat. I really do enjoy their steaks. ( oh when I was pregnant, I would crave their steaks) They have great appetizers: the cheese fries, the bloomin onion. The potato soup can be hit or miss. You can always count on the bread and a loud, rowdy atmosphere. The waitstaff and greeters are always really friendly. And when we do curbside, they are always on time. Try it out and you will see It was meant to be... read more

I don't often review chains, but I found it necessary to review this one. As many a person does, I thoroughly enjoy a juicy delicious steak. The seasoning on their steak is outstanding, and they will cook it to your liking. The salad I order every time (Bleu Cheese Chopped) is bursting with flavor (though I wish they, and restaurants in general, would stop putting spines of the lettuce in salads). The service is friendly and efficient, to boot. (I experienced one issue with my food out of a dozen visits to this particular location, and they handled it appropriately and professionally.) It is no Wildfire by any means, but I would be far from complaining if I had to go here instead. They do offer call-ahead seating (different from reservations), which is quite convenient on Fridays and Saturdays - especially if you have a larger group. When I go to this Outback, I leave satisfied each and every time. The spot is hit. This Outback is hereby recommended by moi. read more

My mother and father in law both have terminal cancer. My mother in law is in the hospital and wanted to surprise her husband for their 40th anniversary with food from your restaurant that they have been frequenting for many many years. They were unable to get the food they wanted, and they were treated to terrible customer service and a general disregard for their need. I will not be going to your establishment and I will do my very best to spread the word about how you treated them while they are deathly ill. read more

We have been a frequent visitor to this restaurant over the past 15 years, and generally speaking the service and food have been very good, that is up until last week. All I can say was that our visit proved to be an all time low. We were kept waiting to order, and when we finally got to order the waitress did not appear to be in any way interested. In fact, she did not come by to check on us during our meal, and left jus waiting to ask foe out check. I had to flag over another server to get the check. When it finally arrived, it was incorrect by 50% so we needed get the attention of another server and wait another 10 minutes. Not good... get your act together, and hire customer concerned servers. read more

Now am I going to place Outback in the class of some of the more well-known locals? Not by a long shot but for a decent night out or quick take out, you will be fine here. Now as with most Outbacks, one of two things will happen. Either you get there early before the crowds come or EXPECT to wait. The staff are always friendly and even in the middle of chaos, they manage to keep the ball moving. This place is always kept clean and well kept. Any mess is an exception and not the rule. Food is good, especially for a national chain. 1. Starters- the bloomin' onion is a nice start. I don't eat much fried food anymore but when I do, this is one exception I will make. The wings were somewhat hot (as in spicy) but still had decent flavor. French onion soup is better than I expected and the salad was pretty large. 2. The steaks and other meats were better than average. The prime rib was better than most major chains but not to be mistaken for Lawry's (for example). The rack of lamb was nicely seasoned. The ribeye was good. You could get the Melbourne (Porterhouse) and call it a day. I normally would pick either the garlic mashed potatoes or dressed backed potato and the fresh seasonal veggies which makes for a good meal. Their portions are generous in my book. 3. As for the burgers, NICE sizes!!! While the Outbacker & the bacon cheeseburger are solid choices, PLEASE BRING BACK THE NO RULES BURGER (mushroom, grilled &/or chopped onion, pickle, mayo, bacon, cheeses and a few other choices you can add or subtract). That was one of the best burgers I ever had (and fun to eat). It was a burger I looked forward to eating. Bottom line is I've never had a bad meal here. Great experiences with dining in and carry out. read more

Of the national corporate chain of steakhouses, Outback probably leads the pack in my view. They certainly won't rival any of the Chicago steakhouses but for a moderate priced family restaurant, the food ain't bad. We usually start with the "Bloomin Onion" appetizer, which we never seem to finish because of its size but it is consistently very good. I also order the Bleu Cheese Wedge Salad, which is a refreshing change from the typical "house salad" you usually find at steakhouse chains. For my entree, I typically order the Outback sirloin, medium rare and this restaurant usually gets it right. From my experience, most chain steakhouses either under cook it and it comes to me closer to rare or it's overcooked and is delivered in "medium" condition. The cook at this establishment understands what medium rare is. In true chain steak restaurant fashion however, I take issue with the quality of their beef. If you're used to USDA Prime, you'll be sorely disappointed. Then again, if it were "Prime", you'd be paying more than $15 for your steak. Lower your expectations and you'll be better off. The old adage "you get what you pay for" certainly applies here. In summary... If you're looking for a handy spot that gets it right about as much as a corporate chain restaurant can and won't break your bank, Outback is a solid 3 star choice in my book. read more

Service - VERY VERY slow. Our server was a leasant enough person, but we waited 10 minutes to be greeted after we sat down. We waited THIRTY minutes after we finished eating to receive the check. Food - Coconut shrimp was wonderful as always. My steak was overcooked, and ALL of our steaks were grisely and tough. Hostess - Extremely rude and condescending and the main reason I will never give this place another chance. We never saw a manger anywhere we could have spoken to about our multiple issues. Severe customer service issues at this place, and the food isn't good enough for me to tolerate that. Thanks but no thanks. read more

I thought about marking 4 stars for this review, given that this isn't a 'fancy-schmancy' steakhouse. But then I tried to think of what could have been improved, and I couldn't think of a thing! I ordered online and used the curbside pick up. I got the 11 oz sirloin, dressed baked potato, french onion soup, and coconut shrimp. I arrived a few minutes early and the guy came right out. I was nervous about my soup after we tipped the bag sideways to get it through the window, but everything was packed up really well so there were no leaks. The food was hot when I got it home; the steak was cooked exactly how I asked; and my "special request" for horseradish sauce was in there too. Everything was delicious, and I had enough for leftovers. Not bad for $28 with tip! read more

Service was okay, not excellent. The food was not good compared to other high end steakhouses, so you do get what you paid for. I had an 8oz sirloin, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. The steak was very hard to chew. I added a $2 topping which looked like regular butter on top.. the asparagus had no flavor, but the mashed potatoes were the best part. If you're going for flavor and a good steak, skip this place. read more

Our food was fantastic! We both had steaks, he had the sirloin, I had the prime rib. They were both quick to be delivered. The reason for my rating is entirely based upon our service. Our child has an anaphylactic egg allergy and I asked our server Jocelyne to check with the kitchen TWICE about the ingredients in the bread and she never came back with an answer. I wouldn't have asked at all if it weren't a life threatening allergy. She brushed it off like it was an intolerance to gluten. ALLERGIES ARE IMPORTANT AND SHOULD BE TREATED AS SUCH. read more

2 stars for phenomenal service. If you are a steak person, invest, and spend more and eat somewhere more delicous. I have not been to Outback for years, but it is a comphy family spot, so for my dad's birthday lunch, it worked for him. We started with the Bloomin Onions and they were fine. I guess that's a must do when you come to Outback (or so I heard). We all got the classic style Outback Special for 9.99 and the only special thing was the price. I'd rather have cooked my own steak at home. The best thing I ate was the free ice cream sundae we got for my dad's birthday and again, excellent service. Outback has always been one of those places we would take the kids since it was casual and the menu was reliable. The steaks were always cooked to perfection across all restaurants and they always had a wonderful seasoning on their vegetables. I came into this place with my daughter for a Yelp Elite event, but we came back afterwards because we had such a great experience at the event! One thing that caught my eye was their beer flights. They paired so well with their steaks and it was amazing to have a few different beers to go with our appetiser and dinner. Not something I would have previously expected from Outback! Way to go! One thing I'd like to mention is that Outback is one of the few restaurants that can cater to people who eat low carb. It's not only reasonably priced, but I feel that I have a large selection of meats, seafood, and vegetables to choose from. Keto-friendly is always an A+ in my book! read more

Manager, please teach your hostess common sense. We were at your restaurant at 2:15pm on a Sunday and there was only 2 other ladies there. The booth we were given was too tight of a fit & I asked if we could sit at a booth "table" that was literally 4 feet from the original booth. The hostess said there was no server for that table. Whaaat? A server couldn't turn 4 feet to take care of us? There was NO ONE in your restaurant. How hard would this fear have been.
