The service was the best part of the experience. She was polite and fast. The interior is ok with kind of a dark supper club kind of vibe. The food needed some work. the scallops were excellent, but the risotto was gummy, and the beet salad seemed like the beets were out of a can. My husband had the lamb chops, and while I'm not a huge fan of lamb I could only eat a bite. Even he thought they were a bit gamey.

This steakhouse is in the casino and had a classic fancy steakhouse vibe. The service was great and food was good too. The French onion soup was one of the best I have had. The steak was cooked perfect and had delicious flavor too. My husband loved the pork chop.

Wonderful restaurant & food! The place was inside of a casino so we had our doubts, but we were already off to a great start when our waitress, Laurie, took our order. She was stellar. We had the shrimp cocktail (great shrimp, weird cocktail sauce) and the scallops (a little cold on the inside but the flavor was great). The cocktails were great as well! Had the Lychee cocktail & a Spicy Marg. Moved onto entrees and the lobster ravioli won by FAR. Must order. The filet was also good! But the lobster stole the show. As for the dessert, the crème brûlée shocked us with how great it was. Was not expecting it! Loved this place and had a great espresso martini to end the night.

This restaurant was okay. We had candied bacon (yum!) for an appetizer as well as the Caesar salad. Thankfully she asked if wanted anchovies which was a hard no! I got the prime rib special which came with garlic mashed and carrots. It had a horseradish crust but not with much bite like I like. I passed the carrots to the husband which he said were good. He had the blackened salmon which he thoroughly enjoyed. It came with carrots and rice and fruit. His plate was clean. We had baked Alaska for dessert. I would go for the apps and dessert alone from this experience but I would give another cut of meat a try.

Possibly the worst restaurant I have been to in several years. Our waitress was absolutely horrible and the food was was what I would expect from a very cheap buffet. We paid $60-$70 each for our steaks. When both our steaks were brought out, it was clear that they were tremendously overcooked. I ordered rare and my wife ordered MR. both were easily medium well. In fact, the inner side of my bone in ribeye was smoking hot. I brought to our waitresses attention and she seemed infuriated that we would even bring up such a petty thing. These cuts of meat were choice, at best but advertised as prime. We did not cause a scene or even say anything. Like my grandpa said, "the best lessons are the ones you pay for". However, I was slightly irritated and failed to take any pictures of our meal except for an initial photo of the bread we were brought. This picture does a decent job of portraying the sophistication of this meal we were charged right at $150 for. Unbelievable. We will not make the mistake of visiting this restaurant again.

Do yourself a favor and ask for Laurie, yes you can reserve your server too. Amazing time ever time! Laurie makes your experience an enjoyable one. Laurie has a stunning personality when combined with Kimberly Dennis the food operations manager it's like wow (what a team). We come here after work from Salon David Anthony and our guest also stop at The Reserve to unwind and relax. We are all truly happy your also here for us. Hat an enjoyable evening every evening your open. Xoxoxo

Great steak place close to home! I actually won a gift certificate to this restaurant and I am glad I did because I was not even aware it existed. Inside the Harrahs casino of Joliet there is this modern steakhouse- who would have known!! For the evening went early to have a drink and possibly gamble prior to having dinner. My husband and I decided to just have a drink- we had one at the bar right outside the restaurant. I had a guava sangria (which the bartender made special) it was delicious and my husband had an old fashion. We had made reservations prior and we're seated promptly. The restaurant had typical steakhouse decor, a bit dark, masculine vibe. The server was friendly and attentive. We ordered the lobster and Mac appetizer- sauce was good and decent amount of lobster. For our main entree I had the filet and my husband ordered the NY strip. Our sides were potato wedges and Brussel sprouts. I would not get the wedges again But the Brussel sprouts were sooo good. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and had a char to the top which I love. Happy to have a found a steak place close to home instead of having to go to city. Will be back- perfect for a date-night and or business dinner.

So.....my wife and I are very picky when going to a steakhouse. Having said that, we went to the Reserve for our anniversary on Friday. We had reservations for 4:45 so we would have time to hit the Casino. Well....for the second time we were NOT seated on time. We were seated at 5:03. To make matters worse, two other groups with 5:00 pm reservations were seated before we were! When we were seated we both looked around and saw half of the tables were empty. Our server was named Samantha and did a perfect job. She was polite and interacted with us just enough. Very good server!! We bother ordered the 8 oz Filet -medium rare. My wife's steak came out more Medium than medium rare. The Brussel Sprouts were fantastic!!! I make reservations at restaurants for times that I know that I will be available and be on time for. I don't understand why it is so difficult to be seated at the time of your reservation. If you don't have staffing, don't except the reservation! I think we will be taking a break from the reserve and look for a different steakhouse in the area.

Four girlfriends and I rolled in for a girls' night dressed like mafia wives because obviously and the vibe at Al's matched the theme perfectly. Dark wood everywhere, dim lighting, cozy booths made for long conversations, and that old-school steakhouse feel where you half expect someone in the corner to be quietly making "important business decisions." Absolute classic. Now the food... wow. Every one of us ordered the petite filet, and they were cooked perfectly. We had twice-baked potatoes, Greek potatoes, salad, and soup, and not a single thing disappointed. I added lobster to my steak and it was not one of those sad little add-ons either it was a legit, perfectly cooked lobster and absolutely delicious. The service was just as good as the food. Our waiter was fantastic, attentive without hovering, and the front-of-house staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Between the incredible food, the classic steakhouse atmosphere, and a table full of mafia wives enjoying their steaks and martinis, it made for the perfect girls' night. 10/10. No notes. Al's... we'll definitely be back. Next time the crew might be bigger.

I got the twice baked potato with it. Large enough to be 2 potatoes. That came with applesauce plenty of butter, The salad was just the standard lettuce with croutons, but the blue cheese dressing made it special. If there was one small thing, I'd say they need to label their handicapped entrance better and maybe put another sign near the main entrance. I didn't know they had one until I was leaving. I'm old and find stairs difficult, but a few of them aren't impossible. I would have used the handicapped entrance if I had known it was there. But thank you for a great Sunday dinner! I'll be back. :)

My husband found this old school restaurant that was established in 1933 with high Google ratings…read morethat was conveniently located on the way to the Rialto Theatre where we were headed for a concert. So we tried it. Merichka's serves good food with good service in a non-fancy kind of restaurant. It has various dining areas and a small bar. The room we sat in was nondescript with not one decoration on the walls. The multiple ceiling fans were running so I froze all throughout dinner. I didn't get our server's name, but she provided good service and was engaging. She always came back to check on us. The other staff we encountered was thorough in delivering food and removing dirty plates. We started with cocktails, a bourbon neat for him and an old-fashioned for me. My husband enjoyed his bourbon, however my old-fashioned was Wisconsin style which I didn't enjoy. We shared the mushrooms as a starter - I have to admit they were perfection! The portion was generous and the crust was perfectly crispy without being greasy. I think we missed the boat, though, because we didn't order the onion rings, which looked sensational. Dinners come with a relish tray and a couple sides. The relish tray had cottage cheese, a bean salad and a pasta salad. Again, generous in size. My hubby had a steak with fried shrimp for dinner and his sides were a salad and twice baked potato. He ordered the steak rare because he didn't trust that it would be cooked to medium rare. He was right to go rare because it came out a little pink. I opted for the baked cod for dinner with a salad and twice baked potato. My cod was 12oz and was moist and flaky. I didn't even put a dent in my dinner because I was full from the mushrooms and relish tray. We ended up bringing most of our entrees home. I'm glad we tried this restaurant out, but honestly even though the food was decent, I didn't enjoy the bare bones atmosphere and being uncomfortable throughout dinner because the fans were on. If you like a supper club without the frills, I think you would like this place.
