Overall, a delightful experience. Stacey was our server the entire night and she did a fantastic job, with all of her recommendations on point. The food was extremely flavorful. We started with the French Onion Soup and the Wedge Salad. The only qualm I had with these too is that I wish the soup had more onion in it. It was a lot of broth. Nonetheless, it was full of flavor. Both of our entrees were impeccable. Steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and the lobster ravioli was to die for. They even gave us a free dessert for celebrating our marriage. Mothers Day @5:15. Seated promptly. Quickly served warm bread and butter. Approached soon after by our server Tracy, who gave impeccable service throughout the meal. Started with French onion soups, which were absolutely delicious...possibly the best I've ever had. Followed up with prime burgers. Burgers were both slightly overcooked. My medium rare was medium. Wonderful restaurant & food! The place was inside of a casino so we had our doubts, but we were already off to a great start when our waitress, Laurie, took our order. She was stellar. We had the shrimp cocktail (great shrimp, weird cocktail sauce) and the scallops (a little cold on the inside but the flavor was great). The cocktails were great as well! Had the Lychee cocktail & a Spicy Marg. Moved onto entrees and the lobster ravioli won by FAR. Must order. The filet was also good! But the lobster stole the show. This restaurant was okay. We had candied bacon (yum!) for an appetizer as well as the Caesar salad. Thankfully she asked if wanted anchovies which was a hard no! I got the prime rib special which came with garlic mashed and carrots. It had a horseradish crust but not with much bite like I like. I passed the carrots to the husband which he said were good. Possibly the worst restaurant I have been to in several years. Our waitress was absolutely horrible and the food was was what I would expect from a very cheap buffet. We paid $60-$70 each for our steaks. When both our steaks were brought out, it was clear that they were tremendously overcooked. I ordered rare and my wife ordered MR. both were easily medium well. In fact, the inner side of my bone in ribeye was smoking hot. I brought to our waitresses attention and she seemed infuriated that we would even bring up such a petty thing. These cuts of meat were choice, at best but advertised as prime. We did not cause a scene or even say anything. Like my grandpa said, "the best lessons are the ones you pay for". However, I was slightly irritated and failed to take any pictures of our meal except for an initial photo of the bread we were brought. This picture does a decent job of portraying the sophistication of this meal we were charged right at $150 for. Unbelievable. Great steak place close to home! I actually won a gift certificate to this restaurant and I am glad I did because I was not even aware it existed. Inside the Harrahs casino of Joliet there is this modern steakhouse- who would have known!! For the evening went early to have a drink and possibly gamble prior to having dinner. My husband and I decided to just have a drink- we had one at the bar right outside the restaurant. I had a guava sangria (which the bartender made special) it was delicious and my husband had an old fashion. We had made reservations prior and we're seated promptly. The restaurant had typical steakhouse decor, a bit dark, masculine vibe. The server was friendly and attentive. We ordered the lobster and Mac appetizer- sauce was good and decent amount of lobster. For our main entree I had the filet and my husband ordered the NY strip. Our sides were potato wedges and Brussel sprouts. I would not get the wedges again But the Brussel sprouts were sooo good. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and had a char to the top which I love. Happy to have a found a steak place close to home instead of having to go to city. So.....my wife and I are very picky when going to a steakhouse. Having said that, we went to the Reserve for our anniversary on Friday. We had reservations for 4:45 so we would have time to hit the Casino. Well....for the second time we were NOT seated on time. We were seated at 5:03. To make matters worse, two other groups with 5:00 pm reservations were seated before we were! When we were seated we both looked around and saw half of the tables were empty. Our server was named Samantha and did a perfect job. She was polite and interacted with us just enough. Very good server!! We bother ordered the 8 oz Filet -medium rare. My wife's steak came out more Medium than medium rare. The Brussel Sprouts were fantastic!!! I make reservations at restaurants for times that I know that I will be available and be on time for. I don't understand why it is so difficult to be seated at the time of your reservation. If you don't have staffing, don't except the reservation! I think we will be taking a break from the reserve and look for a different steakhouse in the area. read more

If you like steak, this is the place for you if you like variety, go elsewhere. They have two Mainstay soups everyday that NEVER change and neither one of them are something I would eat. I miss the days of "the soup of the day". There is one chicken dish and one pork chop dish and anything besides that is all fish and steak. Not much variety. The one thing that is always perfect and on point is the wonderful service that you receive. Please add some variety to the entree section of your menu though. read more

We were really looking forward to eating at the Reserve restaurant at Joliet Harrah's. It was Valentine's day and my wife and I invited our youngest son to join us and another family. It started fine, but the server was very uninterested. We ordered a wedge salad and asked that the chop it up. When it was brought out, it wasn't cut, so we asked the server and she said "you never asked, but we can if you want". Very nasty. We asked and she had it done. Then my son (who just turned 21 and was excited and going to Harrah's for the first time) ordered the 18 ounce prime rib, when the server brought it out, she spilled the aujus juice on my son's khaki pants. She didn't apologize or anything. When she came back to bring my steak, we asked her for some club soda or something to clean it up, she seemed annoyed. During this time, the other family, had ordered a medium ribeye. It came out almost raw, no huge deal, we asked to get it cooked more, again she seemed annoyed. She brought it out and it was still not done. Finally we asked to see the manager and the manager explained that she was generally good and wasnt a bit empathic towards out dinner. We stressed that we didn't want anything taken off our bill, just wanted to let them know how bad of service we received. She didn't seem to care, And even told us that oxy clean should take care of the new pants? Crazy..... What made it worse was the server can't back and literally yelled at us and called us liars. We went in expecting a fantastic meal due to GreAt reviews. Sorely disappointed. My husband ordered his steak rare and it came out medium. When he asked for a new one the waitress was polite but never received an apology. The second one was rare but had a lot of connective tissue. The lobster bisque was bland. Cooper's hawk has a way more savory bisque. We were charged $7 for a small cup of broccoli that was way over cooked. My scallops were very good. I will admit that when my wife suggested a restaurant in a casino for our ninth wedding anniversary I was more than skeptical.... after all its Joliet, not Las Vegas or Reno. I can safely say that I was proven very wrong in this case. Now, I want you to understand that I very rarely give five stars out of the gate. I will usually visit a restaurant a few times before that happens. But I was close with the Reserve. The parking was a bit sketchy given that it is the East side of Joliet, but you can valet and that takes care of that issue. The host (Adam) was very cordial on the phone and put us in a very nice secluded booth in the corner. The wine list was not the greatest.... however on Wednesday the wine is 1/2 off so take that for whatever its worth. I got a nice bottle of Justin Cab and was very happy paying 35 for it. We we extremely lucky to have Joan as our waitress. She was attentive, funny and turned out to be a veritable encyclopedia of Joliet restaurants. She has worked at some of Joliet's most long standing establishments like Al's Steakhouse and Merichkas. She was a highlight of the evening, thanks again Joan!! Now, the food was definitely something special. The filet pops were small... but very, very good. The highlight of the night was the bone in ribeye with the garlic crust..... Easily in my top 5 steaks of all time. The steak was seared to a perfect slight crust on the outside and Medium on the inside. The Garlic Crust was a perfect compliment although I don't know if it was necessary, that's how good this steak was cooked. I will be back.... and soon. read more

My wife and I met my mom and sister here on a Friday night. We had a very good time. On odd thing was that when we tried to make a reservation, they said we could only get 5:45 or 7:30. When we got there at 7:30 the restaurant wasn't even half full. Right after we sat down, they brought water and bread. The bread basket had a good selection, with pretzel buns, sesame rolls and a couple of others. For starters, we got the bruschetta appetizer. It was very good. I LOVED the tomato salad, even eating with a spoon after the bread was gone. It had a very nice balsamic flavor. It would have been nice to get a couple more pieces of toast than the four we got. I got the soup de jour, which was a potato soup with goat cheese. It had a good potato flavor and the goat cheese was different. I liked it but would probably get the baked onion soup instead next time. My mom and sister split a house salad. The two portions were quite ample and had a good amount of mixed berries. After the soup and salads, they brought out raspberry sorbet as a palate cleanser. It had a very good raspberry flavor. For entrees, my wife and I split the double pork chop and my mom and sister split the filet tips. Again the split portions were more than enough. The pork chops came with mashed potatoes and asparagus with a lemon butter sauce. My wife thought the pork chop was salty but I didn't. The sauce went well with the mashed potatoes and the asparagus was cooked perfectly. The filet tips came with cippolini onions and mashed potatoes and a mushroom bordelaise. Both my mom and sister enjoyed it. One other weird thing - both of the shakers on our table had salt. One had three holes and the other had one, but both had salt. My first couple visits here were back when I lived in the western suburbs, 7 or 8 years ago. I remember being surprised at how good this place was; much better than I would have expected from a casino steakhouse in Joliet. Since then, I've lived between Chicago and LA, but visited this past February to take advantage of a double tier credit promo that CET was running....I gotta say, it was even better than I remember. I was solo on this visit, so I opted to sit at the chef's table, which is an 8-10 person circular bar that connects to the open kitchen. I highly recommend this if you have the option, as it will give you the opportunity to hang with Chef Tony, who is an awesome guy. I was in a casual mood, so went with the Prime burger and fries....both excellent, though the fries are a bit thicker cut than I prefer. Shortly after my food arrived, Chef Tony brought out a couple crusted filet medallions to sample, one horseradish and one blue cheese. Then some strawberry gelato for dessert....everything was outstanding. I am somewhat of a Vegas enthusiast, visiting roughly four times a year, and have dined at many of the top steakhouses there....honestly, this place can go toe to toe with just about any of them. Went to Reserve on a casino trip to Harrah's. I recommend sticking to the gambling and passing on the food/cocktails. Got a martini up which had carbonation and a strange watered-down taste. Was told all liquor is dispensed from a gun which probably explains it. Had a side Caesar salad which was doused with way too much dressing which tasted more like thousand island than Caesar. The Steak Diane Pappardelle was OK, but for the price the portion was very small. I was thinking of getting the filet, but $55 for 12 oz seemed a bit high for a casino in Joliet. We've been to this restaurant many times, and usually have a great experience, but tonight was rather disappointing. Our server was rather inattentive, but the food was the biggest issue. I ordered the lobster bisque soup, like I usually order. Tonight soup was so over salted, I couldn't even eat it. When our server finally came back, she asked if there was something wrong & I explained it was too salty. She asked if I wanted something else, but I had waited so long for her to return, I declined a replacement item. My entree was the beef tips, also extremely salty.
