We are regulars at this location! We alternate between sirloin steak & burgers! Service is always consistent as well as the food. Sometimes I get grisly steak * like in the medallions or shiskabob* so I stick to the sirloin. If something is not right management MAKES it right! We DON'T like their fries there- they suck! Too dry!! We wish they wld change them...baked potatoes too.

Bone in Rib eye, house salad, blooming onion.

Let me open by saying completely out of my standard. I do not visit large chain restaurants. Very happy I gave this one a try. A Saturday evening visit. Parking lot full. Wait approx 40 minutes (took 25). Crowd and wait is expertly handled with very cheery and accommodating staff. Our server, Michael, was extremely attentive and helpful. Started with $5 Long Islands for wife and myself. House salad and blooming onion. Salad plate served chilled... nice. Onion served with a lovely horseradish dip. Both better than I expected on a very crowded night. Steaks served perfect. Med rare. Flavorful. Oh yeah, forgot the basket of warm rolls and cinnamon butter. Overall the staff made up for the crowd by efficiently handling the flow. I made mention to the manager on the way out that he has a well performing team. $$ very modest for the meal I was served. We will return.

I had the road kill, which basically is a chopped steak with grilled onions, mushrooms, and jack cheese.

Four girlfriends and I rolled in for a girls' night dressed like mafia wives because obviously and the vibe at Al's matched the theme perfectly. Dark wood everywhere, dim lighting, cozy booths made for long conversations, and that old-school steakhouse feel where you half expect someone in the corner to be quietly making "important business decisions." Absolute classic. Now the food... wow. Every one of us ordered the petite filet, and they were cooked perfectly. We had twice-baked potatoes, Greek potatoes, salad, and soup, and not a single thing disappointed. I added lobster to my steak and it was not one of those sad little add-ons either it was a legit, perfectly cooked lobster and absolutely delicious. The service was just as good as the food. Our waiter was fantastic, attentive without hovering, and the front-of-house staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Between the incredible food, the classic steakhouse atmosphere, and a table full of mafia wives enjoying their steaks and martinis, it made for the perfect girls' night. 10/10. No notes. Al's... we'll definitely be back. Next time the crew might be bigger.

My husband found this old school restaurant that was established in 1933 with high Google ratings…read morethat was conveniently located on the way to the Rialto Theatre where we were headed for a concert. So we tried it. Merichka's serves good food with good service in a non-fancy kind of restaurant. It has various dining areas and a small bar. The room we sat in was nondescript with not one decoration on the walls. The multiple ceiling fans were running so I froze all throughout dinner. I didn't get our server's name, but she provided good service and was engaging. She always came back to check on us. The other staff we encountered was thorough in delivering food and removing dirty plates. We started with cocktails, a bourbon neat for him and an old-fashioned for me. My husband enjoyed his bourbon, however my old-fashioned was Wisconsin style which I didn't enjoy. We shared the mushrooms as a starter - I have to admit they were perfection! The portion was generous and the crust was perfectly crispy without being greasy. I think we missed the boat, though, because we didn't order the onion rings, which looked sensational. Dinners come with a relish tray and a couple sides. The relish tray had cottage cheese, a bean salad and a pasta salad. Again, generous in size. My hubby had a steak with fried shrimp for dinner and his sides were a salad and twice baked potato. He ordered the steak rare because he didn't trust that it would be cooked to medium rare. He was right to go rare because it came out a little pink. I opted for the baked cod for dinner with a salad and twice baked potato. My cod was 12oz and was moist and flaky. I didn't even put a dent in my dinner because I was full from the mushrooms and relish tray. We ended up bringing most of our entrees home. I'm glad we tried this restaurant out, but honestly even though the food was decent, I didn't enjoy the bare bones atmosphere and being uncomfortable throughout dinner because the fans were on. If you like a supper club without the frills, I think you would like this place.
