It was my first time there after my daughter requested pulled pork for dinner. Troy is very welcoming and was happy to see they offered a veterans discount too. My husband and daughter both loved their pulled pork sandwiches. The dining area is comfortable and the vibe is very small town with the regulars there and was so nice to see. First time eating here. Had the ribs, sample of catfish. First off let me say the catfish nuggets were amazing. Some of the best fried fish I've had in a long time. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. Tartar sauce was good also. The ribs were also good 0 to 10 give it a 6. Not the best and not the worst but I've had some bbq from some of the best cooks in the country. I prefer a naturally wood or charcoal smoked rib over a pit than from an electric smoker. I would order them again. Very tender and not dried out. Bone pulled right out. The sausage I felt was a little over done/smoked. Just wasn't a big fan of it. The three different sauces I had were good also. The sweet sauce was really good and mainly the one I had. Inside of the building is nice, little small but nice. It's a good local BBQ joint to get some good food at from a local business. The man stands behind his product with a money backed guarantee. Went for the first time today and we weren't disappointed. We did try to go a few weeks ago on a Saturday but it was closed without explanation. That being said, it seems the owner and who I assume are his sons are the only ones that work there, so maybe they were busy. They were all extremely nice and friendly. The owner lets you try the food before you buy it. A nice touch. We ordered the brisket sandwich and it was delicious. Super tender and juicy. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the menu appears to change from day to day depending on what is in stock. Also that the hours don't seem super consistent. We will be back and I recommend everyone try it out. read more

As all you Yelp fans know me on all the food I eat. This is not a bbq spot. Walked In and seen they were out of ribs and pulled pork. Asked if they had any brisket. Answer was no. All that was left was fried food left to choose from. Either the owners get there stuff together or might as well shut it down. BBQ food is not deep fried food. The restaurant side was decorated with bbq signs everywhere but smelled like a deep frier. Oh ya. Don't hand me a menu and business card and say call ahead first looks even worse off for your business. I don't see this place staying in business very long. Buyers be careful. read more

Came here a few weeks ago looking to get brisket. I was disappointed with it. Bland, dry. I wrote a review on another platform and the owner refunded my money then proceeded to insult me personally. So, beware if you write a less than great review cuz the character or lack thereof of the owner will show their ugliness. Remember, we as the patrons spend our hard earned money for good food. The ribs were so delicious! Heavenly even. Even my wife, who normally does not like ribs loved them. I also liked their baked beans which were a little spicier than what I'm used to. However, my wife and I found the pulled pork on the sandwiches to be a bit too finally shredded to our liking - good not great. I look forward to trying other dishes. Very friendly too. Just tried this place for the first time. It's right in my neighborhood so that is definitely a plus. The Rib tips were delicious and smoky! The fries are also really good. We ordered the ribs and rib tips meals for lunch. The meat was excellently cooked! The rib meat was juicy and falling off the bones. The rib tips had an wonderful smokey flavor that lingered. Portion size was very generous, we weren't very hungry for dinner that night. This area needs a good barbecue joint, and this place is it! If a place calls themselves a BBQ restaurant, the first sign should be the smell of BBQ in the parking lot. This was not the case with West 52 BBQ and it was a red flag. Upon entering, there still was no smell of BBQ but instead it smelled more like fried grease than anything appetizing. I noticed the rib tips and chicken wings were sold out along with a few other items. We ordered the pulled pork and waited 15 minutes. Since it was a a to-go order, we brought home what looked like canned cat food instead of pork. The pulled pork was complete mush and unappetizing. The fries were just basic fries from a frozen bag. We got potato salad, coleslaw, and Mac and cheese and these weren't any better. The potato salad was a generic one straight from the tub from GFS and the potatoes were old and mealy. The Mac and cheese was a clump of dry noodles with a glob of cheese over top. Needless to say, it was all trashed which is a huge disappointment of food and money wasted. If the owner reads this, this is an honest review to help. Your restaurant is in a hidden spot and no advertisement or visibility open than some neon open signs so it's hard to know this place is even there unless you live in the area. The food we were served was not bbq nor was any of it fresh or scratch made either. We will always support local businesses when the product is good. BBQ is flavor, patience, and passion and we did not get any of that from your food. There are several other bbq places nearby that are serve actual bbq that is delicious.
