We were getting lunch here before a doctor appointment and found this on the map. Pleased to find a nice, spacious bar and grill. We got seated in a booth right away. I am mad at myself for forgetting our female server's name but we were served on Dec 17 around noon. She was a great server. Brother ordered mozzarella sticks which came out right away and were very tasty, served in a cute little cone server. Mother got four sliders off the appetizer menu although it was way too much food. We tried to order the kids portion of sliders but the server told us the restaurant would not allow adults to order kids menu items as their meal. The two sliders went to waste unfortunately. I got the grilled fish tacos but was a bit underwhelmed with the thinness of the fish. A bit rubbery. I ate one whole taco and tried to eat the filling out of the rest. Boring sports bar in Joliet, with the usual okay drinks and fried foods. It gets busy, but it's more because of the games on TV, and having a place to watch these than anything here you can get. Anthony's is considered a sports bar. Obviously they have a crap ton of memorabilia. The menu is pretty expected and filled with classic greasy fried things. A pretty average looking place to be honest. It's almost as if this building used to be a chain like Applebee's or something. There's not a lot of charm, just loud TVs and yelling. Only a bit busy coming in. We were able to find bar seats. Has lots of great specials going on. It's $5.50 to get Jameson on Saturdays. As for the food menu it's pretty meaty. It's $11 for Hot Soft Pretzels. A lot of the rest of it is stuff like burgers. There's also pastas and pizzas. Seems like everything gets meat on it. The other stuff is pretty greasy as we saw on the other plates. For sure it's a great place for watching sports and other types of games. It's located by the Louis Joliet Mall so you can eat here after you go there. The area as far as restaurants is sucking and this is one of the better options for family, friends, or for whoever. read more

I see all the bad reviews and I don't understand why everyone else had such a bad time. I stayed in Joilet for a week and I came to this place multiple times. Each time was pleasant. I wish they had a bigger parking lot because it is always crowded and hard to find a spot. There are a ton of giant TVs every where to watch sports. This place has a limited drink cocktail list. They have specials every day. I got to try Sunday's half off appetizers, Monday's $5 gyros, and Thursday's $5 burgers. I ate nachos, gyros, burgers, and a cubano sandwich. What they lack in taste they make up in quantity. The taste is not bad. The food actually tastes good just not the best. read more

We sat outside and I felt bad for our waitress because she had to take care of like 6 to 7 tables. Our food was good of course.

Got kicked out for using a "Fake ID" 3 days after turning 21... My buddy was with me who also turned 21 this month, our ID's were thrown back onto the table at us in a rude manner. the owner came up to us in a rude manner requesting our ID's as soon as we walked up to the bar. Before being asked to leave he threatened to call the cops and was creating a sort of scene. Would not recommend this bar to anybody, and I would hope the owner treats customers in a more friendly manner going forward. ** *** No matter what this place says below, our ID's were real, and it's very concerning the establishment wouldn't at least apologize. Instead, they responded to my google review continuing to say that we were using Fake ID's. It would have been humorous to see the staff members face if the police had indeed verified our ID's, had we stayed and pressed the situation. Stopped here for a family lunch and ordered the nachos. First, I noticed the lack of social distancing in a place that had plenty of seating. I took a photo as an example. Next, the food I ordered. It can be summarized in one word, Yuck! The dish looked better than it tasted. There was a small hand full of chopped chicken, 2 scoops of guacamole, 5 sliced jalapeños, pico de gallo that was tasteless, chips, shredded cheese and what tasted like melted Velveta cheese on top. It tasted horrible. My husband ordered salsa to help this awful dish and nothing helped. In my opinion, Taco Bell nachos are better - which doesn't say much. The server never asked how the food tasted. Maybe she already knew it was awful. I returned the nasty nachos, and volunteered my opinion. She kindly took it off the tab. I ate here and loved it. We didn't have to wait to be seated. The place was clean. The atmosphere was welcoming and lively. The waitress was super friendly and knew the menu well. It didnt cost as much as I thought it would be. And the food was very good. We only waited maybe 10-12 minutes for all four meals to come out. I was impressed. I'll def be going back! read more

Cool! I'm finally able to post my review. I visited this place a couple weeks back and wasn't able to post my review because of negative press on this location. I came here on a Saturday evening wanting to hang out and check out the UFC fight they were hosting. This place definitely was unique. It was clean! Even the bathrooms. Outdoor sections were amazing. Even has a smoking section so you don't need to leave the restaurant. The food menu was great! I loved their selections! The waitress was friendly and accommodating especially since it lacked some food items off the menu. Many positives about this place. The negatives seem to come from the night life area which I haven't seen but I will note my negatives about this place is that the prices are pretty high. Parking does suck getting in so you may have to park in the mall and make a bit of a walk. read more

I have always been a loyal customer to Anthonys me and my family are in this restaurant every Thursday faithfully today me and a colleague had lunch I ordered wings the price for wings use to be .50 cent on Thursday now the price is $1.00 per wing which is not a problem if your getting quality food long story short I got a half eaten wing that I never ate which I was charged a $1.00 for asked to speak to the manager he was very unprofessional and rude he told me he was not taking the wing off my bill nor offer to replace it then told me I was going to pay for that wing instead of him using common sense he chose the ignorant route due to Unprofessionalism with management Anthony's will no longer receive business from me or my Family and colleagues you guys got to do better you never know who's sitting in your establishments read more

HALLOWEEN HAS A DRESS CODE!? This place a damn joke! Came in with a group of friends and 1 Black friend. We weren't dressed in costumes but my friend had on jogger looking pants. We didn't think it looked bad at all we were all dressed up nice. Well unfortunately black friend got kicked out, because of his pants, lol while others we saw others wearing practically nothing or wearing tights and bouncer stated it's their costume attire for Halloween lol we were Just shocked!!! So because we pointed out every single person there on what they were wearing trying to compare bouncer put his hands on my brother and said we allllll can leave. Service was terrible. Our server MYRA was absolutely terrible. Very slow couldn't handle a 8top table to herself when the restaurant wasn't busy. Took a long time to get refills and drinks its self. Forgot one of our food orders said she would discount it off our tab, never did. After making someone wait a whole hour with no food you would think it was on the house. Nope. Paying our tabs they include a 20% gratuity which is ridiculous she did not deserve 20% with the service she provided. Don't waste your money go elsewhere where there is better service. Music is so incredibly loud. It's all from 2005, too, which is fine if it's throwback night or something, but I don't think it was. We came here to eat after visiting a haunted house in the area. We couldn't find a place with sit-down service which is how we ended up at Anthony's. The food is worse than the microwaveable burgers you can get from a vending machine. Chicken tenders are tough. "Loaded" tater tots barely have anything on them. It's funny that we paid $5 to come in considering it was an awful experience. Very bad experience. They make things up and will ban you for no reason. Security will threaten to assault you and try to get a reaction out of you in front of the police. The food is bad. The owner is bad. They don't like poc. The staff is unfriendly and unprofessional especially the security. Go look at other comments and they will say worse things or about the same as mine. You can tell most of the 5 stars reviews are fake. People still come here because it's the only place to go. Most the people that go are all stuck in high school and act like children. Everything is usually okay but the DJ is clearly vibing to his own music, everyone is standing over and it's just one genre of EDM or his rock song and we requested music and asked other servers and they did as well.... The DJ is literally the only person dancing, he is not the one for y'all because everyone wants to leave because of him. And is rude to requests. Even the servers are not into it..... better music would've had people dancing and spending more money, do better. read more

Just got back for eating at Anthony's. I was appalled! The only workers in the restaurant wearing a masks were the wait staff. Not the hostess, not the bouncer, not the random people standing around and not the owner. To top it off, they had 2 tables of at least 10 people+. I believe that restaurants should be open and allowed to have indoor seating and I try to dine at local places, but this is just pure ignorance! There are restaurants that HAVE to stay open to be able to put food on their table, but places like Anthony's that don't follow CDC guidelines hurt everyone. I can only hope the cooks and food prep workers are wearing mask, but I doubt it. read more

Decided to come here post wedding celebration. Party of 6, WEARING FORMAL WEAR, and we got denied because of ONE federal government identification that happened to be in the form of a passport. Here's the kicker: said person above was able to get in a week prior, using the same exact passport except the "group" happened to be ALL FEMALE vs the male-to-female ratio to which we got denied. Definitely felt targeted and experienced extreme racism. Disappointment but honestly, not surprised considering the backlash I've heard from this place.... Ended up going to Jamesons which I 100% recommend. Jamesons, however, joined two tables for our party, and we're very attentive and we experienced phenomenal service. Hot new biz alert! Joliet is lucky to have this fresh fab local restaurant & pub. I'd totes be a regular if I lived closer, but regardless, I'll be back. For starters, the restaurant itself is stunning. Super cool layout with features like a center bar, tons of flat screen TVs, high-tops, low-tops, and an awesome semi-outdoor area with opening garage doors, more TVs, and it's own bar. Obsessed. The hubs and I stopped in for lunch. There were a couple tables of people and one side of the bar completely occupied. We opted to sit at the bar and I'm glad we did. The bartender was super nice and fun to talk to. We both ordered up a Bell's Winter Pale Ale (to cure our winter blues of course). The bartender served them up quick and with a frosted glass - that's what I'm talkin about. On to the good stuff. The food. Their menu is extensive and includes apps, salads, flat breads, burgers, sandwiches, soups, entrees, dessert - the works. There's a good variety but a lot of it centers around Mediterranean cuisine. The Greco flatbread looked intriguing so I ordered it and I'm super glad I did! It was delicious. Perfect flatbread crust with gyro meat, tatziki sauce, feta and fire roasted tomatoes. Yummy! I ate it all but 2 pieces which my husband devoured. He ordered a turkey burger and side salad which he really enjoyed. I of course nibbled on a bite of his burger and I had to agree. It was plump, juicy, and had a bomb ass pretzel bun. Anthony's is just getting started folks. So make your way there and check 'em out! Can't wait to see how they evolve and DEFINITELY can't wait to take advantage of their outdoor bar in the warmer months. Side note: They have a chocolate tower cake that includes "four gigantic layers of chocolate cake, iced and layered with a rich chocolate icing and finished with chocolate cookie crumbs". My wife and I went to lunch at Anthony's on a Monday. I had the "pleasure" of frequenting Sammy's back in the day so I was FLOORED by the transformation that the new owners performed. It is literally 100% different! (which is a good thing). We were greeted by a pleasant hostess and she allowed us to sit wherever. We took seats at a high top on the mall side of the bar. The sun was pouring in and it actually made for very nice ambiance. The bar is gorgeous and you can definitely tell they dropped some money in this place. There are TV's everywhere and the new patio is unbelievable. I am really looking forward to sipping a brew or two out there with the garage doors open this summer. Hopefully the crowd they draw isn't terribly shady as it was when it was Sammy's. We ordered some wings for an appetizer (B). We tried two of the three sauces they offer, the buffalo and the spicy asian zinger (or something) Both were good. The only drawback was the sogginess. I compare all wings to Metro's and these were just drenched. I probably should have asked for sauce on the side and will from now on. My wife ordered the grilled steak tacos (three good sized tacos). B. They were good but needed a bit more flavor. I ordered the fried green tomato BLT. B. It is huge! But also needed some flavor. I can't quite put my finger on what it needed, but it was just not outstanding. I am really excited about Anthony's.
