We arrived just at 7pm. Without a reservation, you can get only bar or outdoor seating. Service is fast. We received our food quickly and completed our meals by 7:28pm. The offerings have reasonable but elevated prices. I ordered cake and steak: one crab cake, one 4 Oz filet. The asparagus was gritty like they didn't clean it first or cooked it on a dirty grill. The crab cake had nice sweetness but more shell bits than I'm used to. Steak had a bit of sauce but no flavor of significance. For what they charge, it's mediocre flavor. Decent meats. MARINER'S CHOICE Fresh fish in classy digs make Catch 35 one of Naperville's premier spots for seafood. My wife and I came here for dinner during Restaurant Week 2024, our second overall visit to this fancy place on Washington St. Catch 35 is easy to find on the corner and sits a stone's throw from Hugo's Frog Bar, another swanky establishment. There's a large parking garage next door. From 1/19 to 2/4, they offered a three course pre-fixe for $59/person. When you consider a la carte prices, this was a relatively good deal (bought separately, the same 3 courses would've cost $68-73pp instead of $59pp, so it's slightly less expensive than usual). Once seated, I ordered a Mexican mule ($15) made with blanco tequila, tamarind syrup, lime juice, club soda and a tajin rim. It was a solid cocktail I'd get again. Unfortunately, the virgin mai tai ($10) and the mango fusion ($10) were little more than juices with fizz--a ripoff quite frankly--and a far cry from the magnificent mocktails across the river at Vasili's. Drinks = 6/10 We started with the tuna tostadas ($19): sashimi-grade sliced tuna, pickled ginger, seaweed, avocado, and wasabi cream. To supplement my dinner, I got a classic wedge salad ($13) with iceberg lettuce, cherry tomato, hard boiled egg, bacon, and blue cheese dressing. My wife loved the shrimp bisque ($8). I expected more from the jumbo coconut shrimp ($19) served with sweet chili sauce and Asian coleslaw. I've had this dish so many times I've lost count, but Catch 35's version fell flat, as it was lacking that "tropical" taste I'd expect from coco shrimp. Not horrible by any means, other places just do it better. Appetizers = 8/10 For my entreé I chose Restaurant Week's surf 'n turf option, the "steak & cake" ($39): a 4oz filet mignon w/herb butter and a large Maryland crabcake w/remoulade. The side of brussel sprouts were good, though not 'crispy' as stated on the menu. My better half ordered the mixed grill ($44): a 3oz salmon filet, 4pc shrimp skewer, and 4oz lobster tail with whipped potatoes. Main courses = 9/10 Both of our desserts were terrific. The key lime pie ($10) had a nice graham cracker crust, homemade whipped cream, and raspberry sauce. The flourless chocolate lava cake ($10) was topped with creme anglaise and macadamia nuts; I could barely finish this due to its decadence, but it was so damn good I managed to push through. Desserts = 10/10 (perfect, yo!) Bread = 4.5 Circuses = 4.5 On this last visit, our server did the bare minimum with fleeting check-ins and an occasional "how's everything tasting?" Truth be told, it was 15% service at best. Jose, on the other hand, took exceptional care of us and deserved 25% gratuity for going the extra mile. For instance, Jose noticed my wife was missing a cup of drawn butter for her lobster tail, and he promptly brought one out. He also got us bread & butter (which our server neglected to give us at the beginning), in addition to periodic refills on water and clearing empty plates. At first I thought he had a crush on my wife (can you blame him?) but it seems that was just him excelling at his job. Jose was the M-V-P of the evening, a true all-star. * TL;DR * Excellent entreés, delicious desserts, and upscale ambiance have become a lofty standard at Catch 35. I'm glad to report that the food is just as high quality as it was 2-1/2 years ago. Despite a largely absentee server this time around, we still had a wonderful meal. Once again, a special shout-out to Jose who provided outstanding customer service. Give that man a raise, a day off, employee of the month recognition, something! The place looks nice. Not so busy when we went. We were here on restaurant week special $49 with starter, entree and dessert. You have to request for bread wherein we did. Nothing special. For starters, i tried the seafood gumbo and so delicious. I could just eat this and be full. For the entree, i ordered the grilled pork chop. It is thick but tender and tasty. I am not a fan of the sauce on top since it is too sweet. I tried my friend's atlantic salmon wellington, it is pretty good. It has the right crisp on the pastry and tasty salmon inside. My husband got the ribeye. I tried it and not really worth the price. I had better steak for a lower price on other resto and my hubby agrees. For dessert i had the chocolate lava cake which is pretty good. Our server is great. Over all, I think the food is OK. A place to go on a special occasion. read more

Came here for lunch on a weekday after the holidays and we made a reservation just in case. Luckily it did not get full. Parking in downtown. Naperville can be tricky and especially around the holidays. Very scare so be prepared to walk if you are not lucky enough to get a spot in the parking garage directly next to this restaurant, which is free for two hours. If you have absolutely nothing to do and have all the time in the world, please come here for lunch. This place is definitely not in any type of rush to see you take your order or bring you your food or your check. So be prepared. I thought this was just our table but it is not. It is just the pace of the entire restaurant and that is fine if that is what you are comfortable with. During lunch and the holidays they had a lunch specials menu which they claim are the same sizes as the regular menu for the portions of the food but they have them at a discount during lunchtime so it's like a sale. We did get a few of the lunch specials, and they did not disappoint. The fish and chips, which are ordered twice at the table were definitely very generous in size and portion. The fries were surprisingly fresh and Crispy and not greasy at all. The lobster roll as well was very generous with the lobster meat. I don't come to Naperville often, but I happen to be in the area and this was a solid choice for lunch. The decor definitely needs a refresh as a place has been a little bit worn down. He made sure our drinks were refilled and checked on our food to make sure it was up to par. Prices are typical for a steak and seafood restaurant. A spontaneous date night with the wife. We've been here before but never for dinner, so the place was moderately packed. We were seated in a spacious corner booth with a roundtable. It's important to note, the crab cake appetizer is only one crab cake. We ordered two, just to be safe. Simply delicious......... The crab cakes were moist and flavorful, especially with the sauce. I wasn't a fan of the peppers but my wife enjoyed them. I didn't enjoy the old fashioned. It was new to the menu and it was made with Tequila. I'm more of a whiskey man myself, so I asked Julie for a amoretto stone sour. She politely took it back. Next, we ordered entrees....I wanted lobster and steak. Not too much but not too little of either, so I combined two entrees. I ordered the Maine Lobster tail which came with one 4oz filet already, I just added another filet, which then made it a Twin Filet Medallions entree as well. So basically, I ordered the Marine lobster tail and the Twin Filet Medallions, at least that's how it was priced. The portion sized was perfect for my only meal of the day. Service was good, appropriately attentive. Drinks were good. Food was good but I would steer away from the crab cakes. They seemed frozen and tasteless rather than fresh. The Brussel sprouts side was deep fried and oily. Scallops were fresh and prepared perfectly. Oysters were also fresh and smooth. Our party agreed the best course was dessert. Loved so many things about Catch 35. My boyfriend and I came here for a date night and had a great time. We sat outside and it was really fun being able to experience downtown Naperville while enjoying our dinner. We started off with the seared yellowfin tuna sashimi appetizer and it was excellent. For our entrées, we both ordered the surf and turf - a 4oz main lobster tail with a 4oz filet medallion and side of choice. The prices on their menu are reasonable, and I appreciated the portion sizes. Portions weren't too big or too small. I was actually able to eat my entire plate and still be full but not overly indulged. The lobster was delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection (I order medium-well). The steak was topped with an incredible sauce (butter, garlic and herbs?) that added a ton of flavor to it. Our waiter, Francisco, was awesome! Shout out to him. He was attentive and professional. Catch 35 is a swanky well managed seafood restaurant in downtown Naperville. Very close to parking and with an impressive menu. The atmosphere is impressive with high ceilings, and neatly organized dining room. The artwork is not to my taste as it is modern abstract and banal in my estimation. On the other hand the service is attentive welcoming and dose not make you wait. Our party enjoyed the ceviche appetizer which was very good. I had the seafood risotto with shrimp and scallops, my wife had an impressive seared tuna and our guest had an Asian noodle dish. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the price was reasonable. Wine menu is impressive although there may be one or two varieties that are limited. I would recommend Catch 35 and hope to return soon. read more

This place is magnificent from the appetizers to the dessert, our server was Denzel he was wonderful, he went above and beyond to make our evening very pleasant, we had the skirt steak it was done perfect and very flavorful, the oysters were delicious, we also had the crab stuffed lobster tail, the taste was scrumptious, our sides were brussel sprouts and sauteed spinach very good, the whipped potatoes I can't say enough about how fluffy light and creamy they were yummmm. Then for dessert we had the apple tart cake with a scoop of ice cream on top and then drizzled with Carmel, plus we had the sticky finger toffee, these two desserts topped off a beautiful dinner I had with my daughter for her birthday. My spouse and I had drinker on Saturday, March 1st at 6:30. We well not be back. We have dined at this restaurant many times in the past, appreciating the subdued lighting giving the dining area a warm ambiance; the starched white tablecloth and how professional the waitstaff looked with their black pants/slacks, black apron and crisp white shirts. Well, not any more... Gone were the were the tablecloths, subdued lighting, and calm relaxed pace. It appeared there were too few servers, those that were there were "running about" somewhat crazed. Our server must have been new or not properly trained as he reached over my plate to remove excess tableware. My sea bass was good, but the chive potstickers that I craved were dry and almost tasteless. This is a $$$ restaurant. I should have known it wasn't the same when the host/hostess were not dressed appropriately. If I were at Colonial Cafe it wouldn't have been a problem, but we don't normally spend $200 there for a meal. read more

Took my fiance and best friend to Catch 35 last night. Pros: * Lots of seating, and the ambiance at the right tone. You were not stacked on each other and forced to speak loudly to have a normal conversation. * Our Waitress came with a great attitude and was critical in getting us the information on the soups that became the highlight of the trip. * As mentioned above, their Seafood Gumbo soup was excellent. Perfect for the time of year. * I had their Scallop and Shrimp Risotto, and was very impressed. Felt the portion was appropriate for the price. Cons: * Would be difficult to bring my fiance back with the lack of vegetarian options. Not suggesting a 180 on the menu, but 1-2 vegetarian dishes would open the doors to many more customers. * While our waitress was fantastic, it felt like she was juggling a lot of tables for a Friday night, and another set of hands on the floor would have been useful to allow more interaction with each table. We came here after walking out of Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in downtown Naperville for my boyfriend's birthday. We told our server how we came to be there at that time and she was absolutely incredible. But I see everyone in the restaurant we must have had four different people at our table at one time or another and it wasn't only us. It was all of the surrounding tables so their customer service is absolutely top-notch. The food was incredible had the stuffed shrimp and shrimp and scallop risotto which were absolutely incredible. Moscato was awesome. And they even brought out a creme brulee for my boyfriend's birthday. I would choose this place over Gordon Ramsay's any day. read more

It takes a lot for me to leave a 1 or 2 star review for any business. Since we visit the location in Chicago we decided to try this one when in the suburbs. It started out bad from the beginning, from our server taking a long time to come over to our table to getting our order correct. One of our appetizers we ordered was forgotten about until I asked where it was. When our main meals were delivered to the table 3 of the 4 entrees were incorrect. Two didn't have sauce on them and one was missing 2 ingredients. The sweet & sour halibut special was horrible and such a greasy fried fish with no flavor. While we didn't ask to see a manager, the server never asked them to come over knowing all the problems we encountered. I would not recommend nor will I return. I have had dinner at Catch 35 and it was perfectly lovely. However, my sisters and I went there for lunch today, specifically to try the lobster rolls (recommended by a friend). They were edible, but completely unseasoned, absent of the Old Bay touted in the menu. The coleslaw was unseasoned too with a dressing that tasted like half and half and nothing else, but the French fries were perfect. AMAZING!!! I was exploring the area and found Catch 35. Service was awesome, quick, welcoming and made the experience even better. I went with the recommended featured cedar plank salmon. I was so pleased. The brown sugar and red pepper combination in the sauce was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. It had a sauce on the side, a cool creaming addition. I went with the ramen noodles side. Perfect compliment to the fish. Before all this yumminess I received sour door bread with a glass of wine. I can't say how good everything was. Hello! I was at Catch 35 for lunch yesterday. I Had the fish and chips and my friend had Chicken sandwich. Both were delicious!! We also had hot brownie with Ice cream for dessert. It was delicious too. Service was great. Our waiter was so very nice and pleasant. His name began with D....we do not remember it. He was great. The Ambiance was good too. The service wasn't terrible by any means, it wasn't any better than going to an Applebee's though, so for the prices here, I would have expected better service and definitely a better wine menu. The food was only okay, I would not be rushing back. I requested my salmon well done, it was medium at best. The flavor tasted okay, but again, nothing I would rave about. I didn't eat some of it as a result. I think there are far better steak and seafood places in the western suburbs of Chicago so I would not recommend Catch 35. read more

But real sees real, meaning a person with real knowledge and real skills can recognize those things, and they can't be as easily fooled. Rich people lose touch with having to put in a real effort into things to learn and develop real skills, hence they lose their ability to keep in touch with realness and are fooled by superficial looks. In fact, the status quo also more and more takes on the inability to recognize real skills as knowledge the music, movies, and food they consume is TRASH and they lose touch with what's real. I will NEVER be fooled as I'm always learning new things, developing REAL skills, and the realest person to walk on planet Earth. This is my favorite restaurant in the Naperville area. We have been there numerous times (probably 25 times post Covid). The food is great. Lots of choices. All have been good. Service has been outstanding for us. Some servers are friendlier than others but all have done a great job. Ambiance is good. Tables are spaced well until the recent set up of two top tables in a line. But maybe that will go away. Noise is acceptable. Carpeted, bar is separate area, ceiling has sound absorbing design. Favorite place in Naperville for a date night. They make great drinks--i love my martinis and they have the best dirty martini in the area, and also a stellar espresso martini for after dinner. For food I've enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, sea bass which has a wonderful sauce, and my personal favorite--the crab legs.
