A trio of coconut shrimp, served with asian coleslaw and sweet chili sauce
Eric S.

MARINER'S CHOICE Fresh fish in classy digs make Catch 35 one of Naperville's premier spots for seafood. My wife and I came here for dinner during Restaurant Week 2024, our second overall visit to this fancy place on Washington St. Catch 35 is easy to find on the corner and sits a stone's throw from Hugo's Frog Bar, another swanky establishment. There's a large parking garage next door. From 1/19 to 2/4, they offered a three course pre-fixe for $59/person. When you consider a la carte prices, this was a relatively good deal (bought separately, the same 3 courses would've cost $68-73pp instead of $59pp, so it's slightly less expensive than usual). Once seated, I ordered a Mexican mule ($15) made with blanco tequila, tamarind syrup, lime juice, club soda and a tajin rim. It was a solid cocktail I'd get again. Unfortunately, the virgin mai tai ($10) and the mango fusion ($10) were little more than juices with fizz--a ripoff quite frankly--and a far cry from the magnificent mocktails across the river at Vasili's. Drinks = 6/10 We started with the tuna tostadas ($19): sashimi-grade sliced tuna, pickled ginger, seaweed, avocado, and wasabi cream. To supplement my dinner, I got a classic wedge salad ($13) with iceberg lettuce, cherry tomato, hard boiled egg, bacon, and blue cheese dressing. My wife loved the shrimp bisque ($8). I expected more from the jumbo coconut shrimp ($19) served with sweet chili sauce and Asian coleslaw. I've had this dish so many times I've lost count, but Catch 35's version fell flat, as it was lacking that "tropical" taste I'd expect from coco shrimp. Not horrible by any means, other places just do it better. Appetizers = 8/10 For my entreé I chose Restaurant Week's surf 'n turf option, the "steak & cake" ($39): a 4oz filet mignon w/herb butter and a large Maryland crabcake w/remoulade. The side of brussel sprouts were good, though not 'crispy' as stated on the menu. My better half ordered the mixed grill ($44): a 3oz salmon filet, 4pc shrimp skewer, and 4oz lobster tail with whipped potatoes. Main courses = 9/10 Both of our desserts were terrific. The key lime pie ($10) had a nice graham cracker crust, homemade whipped cream, and raspberry sauce. The flourless chocolate lava cake ($10) was topped with creme anglaise and macadamia nuts; I could barely finish this due to its decadence, but it was so damn good I managed to push through. Desserts = 10/10 (perfect, yo!) Bread = 4.5 Circuses = 4.5 On this last visit, our server did the bare minimum with fleeting check-ins and an occasional "how's everything tasting?" Truth be told, it was 15% service at best. Jose, on the other hand, took exceptional care of us and deserved 25% gratuity for going the extra mile. For instance, Jose noticed my wife was missing a cup of drawn butter for her lobster tail, and he promptly brought one out. He also got us bread & butter (which our server neglected to give us at the beginning), in addition to periodic refills on water and clearing empty plates. At first I thought he had a crush on my wife (can you blame him?) but it seems that was just him excelling at his job. Jose was the M-V-P of the evening, a true all-star. * TL;DR * Excellent entreés, delicious desserts, and upscale ambiance have become a lofty standard at Catch 35. I'm glad to report that the food is just as high quality as it was 2-1/2 years ago. Despite a largely absentee server this time around, we still had a wonderful meal. Once again, a special shout-out to Jose who provided outstanding customer service. Give that man a raise, a day off, employee of the month recognition, something! I've recommended Catch 35 to friends and family, and I'll continue to do so as long as they keep cranking out some of the best seafood in the area.

Came here for lunch on a weekday after the holidays and we made a reservation just in case. Luckily it did not get full. Parking in downtown. Naperville can be tricky and especially around the holidays. Very scare so be prepared to walk if you are not lucky enough to get a spot in the parking garage directly next to this restaurant, which is free for two hours. If you have absolutely nothing to do and have all the time in the world, please come here for lunch. This place is definitely not in any type of rush to see you take your order or bring you your food or your check. So be prepared. I thought this was just our table but it is not. It is just the pace of the entire restaurant and that is fine if that is what you are comfortable with. During lunch and the holidays they had a lunch specials menu which they claim are the same sizes as the regular menu for the portions of the food but they have them at a discount during lunchtime so it's like a sale. We did get a few of the lunch specials, and they did not disappoint. The fish and chips, which are ordered twice at the table were definitely very generous in size and portion. The fries were surprisingly fresh and Crispy and not greasy at all. The lobster roll as well was very generous with the lobster meat. I don't come to Naperville often, but I happen to be in the area and this was a solid choice for lunch. The decor definitely needs a refresh as a place has been a little bit worn down. All of the staff was super friendly and attentive, so no complaints there.

I came here twice and food both times were excellent. Parking you can find nearby in a lot (gets filled up fast) or the two garages. Last time we were there, our server was very alert and observant. He made sure our drinks were refilled and checked on our food to make sure it was up to par. Prices are typical for a steak and seafood restaurant. Portion sizes were sufficient and not tiny. -coconut Florida shrimp with sweet chili garlic sauce 5/5 - pieces of shrimp were good size, crispy, and juicy. -mixed grill (salmon, shrimp, 1/2 lobster tail 5/5 - i love how they use big pieces of shrimp. Lobster was cooked perfectly, did not taste rubbery. Salmon was flaky and easy to cut. Everything tasted above par.

Crème brûlée - quite good

Went here to celebrate a birthday. Made a reservation through open table. Be aware when making a reservation if you would prefer sitting at a booth over a table you must request it. Service was good, appropriately attentive. Drinks were good. Food was good but I would steer away from the crab cakes. They seemed frozen and tasteless rather than fresh. The Brussel sprouts side was deep fried and oily. Scallops were fresh and prepared perfectly. Oysters were also fresh and smooth. Our party agreed the best course was dessert. The crème brûlée was very good but skip the cappuccino. Overall we celebrated our birthday and had an enjoyable evening. Reserve your booth today.

A spontaneous date night with the wife. We've been here before but never for dinner, so the place was moderately packed. We were seated in a spacious corner booth with a roundtable. My wife loved this....Juile was our server. Service was excellent. She was polite, informative and made suggestion when I wanted a combination of entrees on the menu. We stared with cocktails and a appetizer. I ordered the old fashioned and my wife, the amoretto stone sour. We had the crab cakes or an appetizer. It's important to note, the crab cake appetizer is only one crab cake. We ordered two, just to be safe. Simply delicious......... The crab cakes were moist and flavorful, especially with the sauce. I wasn't a fan of the peppers but my wife enjoyed them. I didn't enjoy the old fashioned. It was new to the menu and it was made with Tequila. I'm more of a whiskey man myself, so I asked Julie for a amoretto stone sour. She politely took it back. Next, we ordered entrees....I wanted lobster and steak. Not too much but not too little of either, so I combined two entrees. I ordered the Maine Lobster tail which came with one 4oz filet already, I just added another filet, which then made it a Twin Filet Medallions entree as well. So basically, I ordered the Marine lobster tail and the Twin Filet Medallions, at least that's how it was priced. The portion sized was perfect for my only meal of the day. Although, the steaks were more medium than medium well, which is what I ordered. The food and atmosphere was excellent. Then my wife's college girlfriend walks in with her husband. Excellent outing.......We will try to drop in for dinner more often.

We reserved a table for 7 people to have a birthday dinner. We were able to bring a cake which the staff politely hid for us and brought it out at the end of dinner to surprise the birthday girl. When sat, water was brought eright away to the table. We provide our dreak and food order shirtly after. You do have to ask for bread if you like any before your meal comes to do table. All of the meals consisted of either steak or seafood, which was cooked perfectly. There was light music playing during dinner, which, in my case, added a nice romantic mood. Highly recommend.

Great way to spend a cloudy afternoon. Ryan the bartender is excellent. Great conversation!

Loved so many things about Catch 35. My boyfriend and I came here for a date night and had a great time. We sat outside and it was really fun being able to experience downtown Naperville while enjoying our dinner. We started off with the seared yellowfin tuna sashimi appetizer and it was excellent. For our entrées, we both ordered the surf and turf - a 4oz main lobster tail with a 4oz filet medallion and side of choice. The prices on their menu are reasonable, and I appreciated the portion sizes. Portions weren't too big or too small. I was actually able to eat my entire plate and still be full but not overly indulged. The lobster was delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection (I order medium-well). The steak was topped with an incredible sauce (butter, garlic and herbs?) that added a ton of flavor to it. Our waiter, Francisco, was awesome! Shout out to him. He was attentive and professional. Overall, we would definitely return as the food and service was amazing.

Top notch food and service, never had a bad experience here. Great place for a date or a special occasion. In addition to seafood and premium steaks, there are several Asian inspired dishes here like: Kung Pao Chicken, Pad Thai, Stir Fried Shrimp & Scallops and Jasmine White Rice. Dinner started off with complimentary sour dough bread and butter. Each entree comes with a choice of side. House Cabernet $12 Fried calamari $18 - Crispy and tender, garnished with fried tofu! Great cocktail an tartar sauce. Mixed Grill (salmon, shrimp and lobster) $39 - A seafood lover's dream on a plate. Ribeye $57 - Perfectly cooked, covered in delicious glaze and portabella mushrooms. Chilean Sea Bass $42 - Tender fillet with Asian inspired sauce. They have a gift card promo going on right now where you get a bonus $25 gift card for every $100 gift card purchase. Bonus gift cards are mailed to you while regular gift card can be electronic or mailed. Gift cards are not valid the same day of purchase. If street parking is filled up, there's a free parking garage nearby. .|\---/| | o_o | .\_^_/..2021

Skirt steak and crab stuffed lobster tail
Don M.

This place is magnificent from the appetizers to the dessert, our server was Denzel he was wonderful, he went above and beyond to make our evening very pleasant, we had the skirt steak it was done perfect and very flavorful, the oysters were delicious, we also had the crab stuffed lobster tail, the taste was scrumptious, our sides were brussel sprouts and sauteed spinach very good, the whipped potatoes I can't say enough about how fluffy light and creamy they were yummmm. Then for dessert we had the apple tart cake with a scoop of ice cream on top and then drizzled with Carmel, plus we had the sticky finger toffee, these two desserts topped off a beautiful dinner I had with my daughter for her birthday. If you're looking for a really nice place to go you have to try Catch 35, free parking one block away, I will be going back very soon

Wonderful seafood restaurant in downtown Naperville. We have always had great experiences here. The food is always delicious and service is top notch. I especially love the sourdough bread, but heads up - you need to ask for it now! Great spot to celebrate special occasions but also the casual dinner.

Appetizers

Company dinner with 10 of us. Based on some of the reviews we scheduled it early- 5pm so service would be more prompt. We started at the bar for a quick cocktail before we were seated. The bar area was nice, drinks were ok and the bar tender was attentive. The main dining area is a bit dark but nice and comfortable. Good overall selection on the dinner menu. Waitress constantly seemed to be in a hurry vs being attentive to actual needs, she wasn't bad but just not the level you would expect. Appetizers were prepared perfectly and tasted excellent. Unfortunately the main course was only cooked properly but seriously lacked flavor/seasoning. 8 of the 10 of us had similar opinions. Parking garage down the street was convenient but it filled up quickly.

Ask the Community - Catch 35 Naperville

Is Catch 35 a "Lettuce Entertain You" restaurant?

I don't believe it is. You might want to check with their website. I do know, some restaurants that were apart of "lettuce" are not anymore.

What days is the bar menu half price?

I would call them, I was recently there for dinner and the selected bottles of wine were 1/2 price, it was a Thurs. eve.

What's the attire?

It's pretty varied. Everything from super dressy (prom dates, etc) to casual will pass. It's a white table cloth kind of place so I also recommend that you err on the side of being dressed nicely. But people come in after shopping downtown… Read more

Do they offer wine flights?

No. Only wine by the glass or by the bottle are offered.

The contemporary, stylish decor and warm, ambient lighting set the perfect stage for anything from a sharp business dinner to a celebratory night out.  While their entire menu is packed with crowd-pleasers, there are three absolute standouts that elevate Entourage from a great local spot to a premier dining destination. The Standout Dishes Classic French Onion Soup The meal hits a high note right out of the gate with this starter. It is everything a traditional French onion soup should be, but executed flawlessly. The broth is deeply savory and rich with perfectly caramelized sweet onions. It is topped with a generous, beautifully blistered, gooey layer of Gruyère al forno over a crispy brioche crouton that holds its texture remarkably well. It is comforting, rich, and the perfect way to kick off dinner.  Wagyu Beef Stroganoff This dish is a masterclass in comforting, high-end comfort food. Instead of standard beef tips, Entourage elevates the classic with pan-seared, premium Wagyu steak that is incredibly tender. The rich, velvety sauce combines wild mushrooms, fresh herbs, garlic, and a savory sour cream and veal demi-glace. Tossed with wide, fresh pappardelle pasta and served with crisp garlic toast, it is decadent, deeply flavorful, and easily one of the best entrees on the menu.  The Delmonico Ribeye For the steak lovers, the dry-aged Delmonico Ribeye is an absolute triumph. Sourced from premium Linz Heritage Angus beef, the cut is magnificently marbled, resulting in an incredibly juicy and flavorful steak. Grilled to absolute perfection with a beautiful outer crust, it melts in your mouth and reminds you exactly why Entourage can easily compete with any traditional high-end steakhouse in the suburbs. The Verdict Entourage successfully delivers a high-energy, upscale vibe without losing sight of exceptional culinary execution. The service is attentive and knowledgeable, and the kitchen consistently hits its marks. Whether you are coming for the incredible steaks or their elevated comfort classics like the stroganoff, you are guaranteed a memorable meal.

My wife spotted this place across the street - Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay. How could we go wrong? Well, we couldn't. The interior was smartly outfitted - the lighting, the ceilings, the walls, were all classy and nicely done. Service was outstanding - water and soft drink glasses were refilled regularly, and the table checked for food quality on multiple occasions. I was intrigued by their Prime Rib Sandwich, which is served with onion crisps. I went for the $4 upgrade to Truffle Fries. The sandwich was LARGE, very tasty, and just plain wonderful to eat. The Truffle Fries added a bit of spice to the meal. My wife had their Fish & Chips. Ambience was fine, not overly impressive, we could hear the expediter and the kitchen. Coffee was good, just hard to get enough refills. Potato-leek soup with chili oil drops resembled thin baby food, and was so tasteless, we had to request salt and pepper. They didn't even have salt and pepper shakers; it came in small tumblers. The Beef Wellington from the prix fixe menu was smaller than expected for the price. The beef was fine but was more like a filet than a beef tenderloin. The mushroom coating was far too earthy and tasted a little bit like dirt. The pastry was kind of raw on the inside. The sides that came with the Beef Wellington were a schmeer of mashed potatoes - which were okay - and a tiny pile of steamed carrots and leeks. The chocolate tart was good, but not incredible. Did not live up to the hype or the "Ramsey Reputation;" will probably not return. Overall experience - kind of "meh."

It manages to strike that rare balance between upscale sophistication and the high-energy "service at the speed of light" that defines a world-class steakhouse. Here is a breakdown of what makes it a magnificent choice. 1. The Meats: A Carnivore's Symphony The star of the show is, without question, the Picanha. This prime cut of top sirloin is seasoned simply with sea salt and roasted to perfection. When the gaúchos carve it tableside, the outer layer is beautifully seared while the center remains incredibly succulent. Diversity of Cuts: From the garlic-heavy Cordeiro (lamb) to the tender Filet Mignon and the smoky Costela (beef ribs) that fall off the bone with the slightest nudge of a fork. The "Green Means Go" System: The service is relentless (in the best way). As long as your card is green side up, a parade of skewers will arrive, ensuring your plate is never empty. 2. The Gourmet Salad Bar Calling it a "salad bar" feels like an understatement. It is an architectural display of fresh, high-end ingredients that could easily stand as a meal on its own. Highlights: Huge wheels of aged cheeses (like Grana Padano), smoked salmon, marinated artichokes, giant grilled asparagus, and traditional Brazilian feijoada (black bean stew). Freshness: Everything is crisp, vibrant, and replenished so frequently it feels like you're the first person to plate a serving. 3. Atmosphere & Service The ambiance is warm, dimly lit, and refined, making it perfect for anything from a high-stakes business dinner to an anniversary. Authentic Hospitality: The staff are knowledgeable and move with a choreographed precision. They don't just serve food; they share the culture of the Rio Grande do Sul. The Sides: Don't overlook the warm pão de queijo (cheese bread) or the caramelized bananas, which serve as the perfect palate cleanser between savory bites. 4. The Final Verdict Chama Gaúcha isn't just a meal; it's an investment in indulgence. You don't go there for a quick bite; you go there to be treated like royalty while exploring the very best of Southern Brazilian grilling. Pro Tip: Save a little room for the Papaya Cream dessert. It's light, refreshing, and topped with a swirl of Crème de Cassis to perfectly round out a heavy meal. 5 star

Overall (A-) I have been a few times over the last few years…read morebut this time my expectations were exceeded. We went during lunch and I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of food and service. I would recommend to go - but don't get the AYCe options - actually order food from the bar menu. Excellent and great value Food (A-) The food from AYCE was a B+ while bar ordered food was a A. So one of my daughters got the churrasco experience and enjoyed the house special and ribeye . The other meats were good but a bit salty. The salad bar was pretty good also. Especially the bacon. Me, my wife and other daughter ordered off the bar menu and it was awesome. We got wings, steak, lamb, and both sliders - all of it was excellent. It was so good that this is going to be our good to place for family meals. Pictures posted below Service (A-) The staff was super friendly and nice. We went right at lunch open so not too busy. Prompt service and great job by the severs. The only caution is the wait for bar ordered food - it does take a while. I think the staff is focused on the Churrasco experience foods so anything ordered does take longer. But they were clearly trying there best Value (A) Split rating - would give Churrasco experience a B+ while bar menu a A+. Posted menu attached - next we go - we may order everything and try it - we really enjoyed it Insider tip- order from the bar menu and the quality of food is much better. If doing the experience stick with ribeye and house special. Join the rewards program - it is worth if you plan to go every few months. Also the interior is well appointed - it's not a quite place but not to loud
