Favorite place in Naperville for a date night. They make great drinks--i love my martinis and they have the best dirty martini in the area, and also a stellar espresso martini for after dinner. For food I've enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, sea bass which has a wonderful sauce, and my personal favorite--the crab legs. Took my wife here for a celebration outing. This was our first time dining out somewhere in a long time. Thankfully it was pretty quiet on a Monday afternoon, and it's spacious inside. The workers all wore masks, and the booths were separated by plexi-glass. The ambiance was nice, and service was friendly. We ordered the sweet & sour halibut and crab cake entree w/ crispy brussel sprouts. The halibut came out steaming hot, and was very tasty. The bell pepper, onion, and pineapple combo was nice. The jasmine rice was fine, but could have been cooked in a way to make it fluffier/stickier like we make at home. The crab cakes were also delicious. It was nice to have crab cakes without a bunch of filler ingredients. The brussel sprouts were spot on, too. The serving size for both dishes was good; in fact, we took leftovers home. Naturally, a higher end place like this is going to be pricey, so our bill was much higher than what we'd normally pay for lunch. My partner and I ate here on a whim on a Saturday night. There was no wait and we were able to sit outside next to some heaters (it was beginning of November). They also have a huge indoor dining area and during covid, have plastic dividers between some of the booths and chairs. It was in a beautiful location of Naperville - next to ample parking, through a garage and street parking. Our server was so wonderful and attentive and provided helpful suggestions. I attended up ordering tacos which were filling, juicy and served on a cute 3 prong platter/holder. My partner ordered a burger and fries, which sounds simple, but this was an extremely large burger :) They also have an extensive drink menu and desserts. Catch 35 was lovely to dine for a special occasion. They took temperatures, wore masks and gloves and had plexi glass between all the tables. The food was wonderful. We started with the crab and guacamole quesadilla which was filled with fresh lump crabmeat. My brother is gluten and dairy free and he was able to enjoy a wonderful fresh Chile glazed salmon dish. My wife and I went here because it had been a while since the last time we were here. Denzel was our server and he was very pleasant. He was able to provide great recommendations when it came to the food and cocktails! We actually tried 3 of his recommendations and were glad we did!! I had the gumbo as an appetizer, a raspberry limon martini and the seared scallops and shrimp risotto!! I'm now a huge fan of that meal and as long as it's on the menu I will probably continue to order it. March 31, 2024 My wife and I decided to to have our Easter dinner at this dump. What a mistake. Everything was fine through the bread and salad, and then the entrees were served. I ordered the salmon and it arrived cold and uncooked. It was a disgusting slimy piece of garbage. Besides the uncooked slop the service also needs to be improved. The presentation was... lackluster, to put it politely. I worked at a 2-star restaurant in college that ended up going out of business and it had better presentation than this. I'm not a food connoisseur by any means, but when the food was brought out, I was significantly disappointed. For an upscale restaurant, I would've expected much more effort but it looks like they slapped the mashed potatoes on, dumped a small amount of beurre blanc on the fish and threw 3 tomatoes on. So first off, the atmosphere and service deserves 5 stars. We were very happy with the service and cleanliness of the location; our server was very educated on the entire menu. The location lost a star because we really didn't find anything that hooked us into coming back. The crispy brussel sprouts were well done as you would expect, but they were very very soggy. The parm truffles fries were okay. The sea bass was VERY GOOD, as were the mussels. My Maine Lobster tail was just kind of okay. Dessert was less than par, the crust was very plastic like in texture and impossible to cut through. If we ever had to go back, I would 100% get the mussels again, but that really is it. The other star was lost unfortunately because after we finished the entire bottle of Cakebread Sav Blanc, we noticed the cork was moldy. This could be on Catch 35, or the vineyard itself, however was really disappointing to notice when we were finishing the bottle. Nice place to dine in be it a family affair, friends gathering, first dates or business related. Its a great place for bigger groups too. The inside is large, good amount of space in between tables. Outdoor patio has more of a casual ambience as its right by the street, and is pretty small. We were a group of five friends and two toddlers, went there on a long weekend nice summer afternoon. We wanted to seat outside to enjoy the pleasant warm weather however the patio dint look appealing to us. So we took a table inside, which looked very nice. Place is kid friendly, they provided activity sheets with coloring pencils. Also, good highchairs and plently of room to maneuver the strollers. Food was good, everyone was happy with their dishes. We all shared our dishes and I tasted everything that we had on table.:) All the dishes tasted good, no soggy food. Although not any dish that stood out. The thing that made a lasting impression on me was actually my margarita! We had 12 of the oysters, the shrimp bisque, the short rib with mashed potatoes, wedge salad, mussels, and 1lb crab leg. Towards the end of our lunch the little one became fussy, we asked for our check and boxes, this way we didn't ruin anyones lunch. Catch 35 is not what it used to be. Gone is white linen and clean bright look. It has been replaced by lighting so dark that many customers were using their cell phone lights to read the menu and some even to see their food. This made me think what are they hiding? Generally, the food inconsistent most was tasty but some was not special to poor. The pricing is still pricey as is was aand deserved to be during Catch 35's glory days years ago. For those looking for this option know that you must order minimum 24 hours in advance. The steak was made perfectly and tasted awesome! Plenty of beverages to pick from, appetizers, and sides. Can (wo)man live by fish alone? I could. Raw, cooked, head left on, head cut off, ocean, lake, river. I appreciate them in all forms. ;) In fact, I prefer it to any other type of meat. A wallop of muscle supporting protein but without that bloated feeling that's left in your gut after consuming red meat. As far as fish, Catch 35 always delivers. Always fresh. Always prepared exceptionally well. I've never been served anything that has even a hint of "fishiness", no bones, no rubbery textures. Just flaky fish with great flavors. Bisque is perfect. Not too thick from high volumes that have simmered too long and overcooked all evening. Not too salty. Just great flavor and nice chunks of crab in a smooth creamy soup. The perfect way to begin my dinner on a cool rainy night. My last trip to Catch 35, I ordered panko encrusted grouper with sweat pea risotto and a simple salad with a bacon vinaigrette. That was a plate of perfection. Fish was seasoned beautifully. It was all that fish should be. Flaky, buttery, tender. Perfect. Let's face it, you can never go wrong with panko encrusted anything! I could have eaten a whole bowl of the creamy risotto. --Why does a diet of starches and heavy cream have to be so so bad for us?? The salad with the bacon vinaigrette was a nice contrast to the risotto. Slightly salty yet cleansing. I would definitely order that again. Steaks are.... meh. You should really only order steaks at steakhouses. They're fine if someone in your party doesn't like fish, but not the best steak you'll eat. I personally found the key lime pie to be lacking. It didn't have much flavor. I like my key lime like I like my friends: tart. A tart filling, offset by a sweetened graham cracker crust. The crust was fine but the key lime was not enough to pucker my cheeks. ;) My only real complaint has been service. An hour into our visit and all we'd been served was my cup of soup and a shrimp cocktail. --neither menu items need any prep at all. It was 80 minutes before we were brought our entrees. That is unacceptable. Especially on an evening when the restaurant was not packed. The food is great and it's never impossible to get a table. Parking is convenient with a garage next door, which is a huge bonus when dining in downtown Naperville. Winner, winner seafood dinner. read more

Our server was happy and friendly. He came back and checked in with us every so often as well. The food was good....I just wish my soup was warmer. I felt like it was served at room temperature. So it was kind of interesting to sit there and watch what is going on in the kitchen but don't get any greasy smell. Crab bisque was creamy, nice crab meat, and seasoned just right. The oyster was juicy and fresh. My lobster roll was made of cold lobster chucks with celery in a grilled, crunchy bread. I could really taste the fresh delicious lobster meat. Loved it. Fish taco was lightly grilled with thin sliced Napa which was awesome and unique. Chocolate cake was actually kind of Volcano or souffle type. It came in cylinder shape with warm chocolate inside. If you're looking for a place with a good Happy Hour in downtown Naperville, then check out Catch 35. You can grab their specials at the bar on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. 1/2 off items on the bar food menu. With it being close to Naperville's awesome free parking, that's a win, right? I came with family around 4p, and it looked like we were the first ones there. The waitress was very pleasant, and we put in our orders. Fortunately we came early, because the food took longer than one would expect for bar food. It's almost as if the kitchen had to turn everything on and wait for it to warm up. It's a good thing that they serve a delicious bread (free) while you're waiting. When we finally got our food, it was about average in terms of taste. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with anything we ordered (e.g., fish & chips, lobster sliders, fish tacos, etc.), but nothing really stood out either. I would certainly order the lobster roll and fish tacos again, but I would pass on the fish & chips. So while Catch 35 is conveniently located in downtown Naperville and has a nice space, it's a bit too dark inside for my liking and the wait for food is longer than expected.
