6/2/26 Update: Actually visited this location after a bad delivery order and owner stepping in to make me whole. Welllllllll, it was amazing like I remember. I had the new, returning pork chops, loaded mash and overall deliciousness. The owner Brian came to greet me and my server..Brad was magnificence. Young man with great recommendations. Wish I took a photo. Ordered a Filet Mignon (rare) and it was cooked to perfection alongside my baked sweet potato that comes with cinnamon, sugar and butter (ugh my mouth is watering thinking about it , it was so good!) and even my broccoli was delicious. The place was clean and my server (male with longer hair; didn't catch his name ) was extremely sweet. Definitely made the experience much better and I will definitely be returning for their cheap drinks. I gave the place 4 stars though bc my friends steak looked well done (he ordered medium rare). Ate here on a Saturday night because the wait time for Texas Roadhouse was an hour. Ordered a blooming onion which was good and not as greasy as others else have had. My steak was a bit undercooked cooked. Was more medium rare than medium. The shrimp that came with it were a bit on the smaller side and I only got 4. Texas Roadhouse I would have gotten 5 or 6 and they would have been a little bigger. The waiter was pretty good until we were almost done and then he barely was seen. We have been to outbacks before and but it seems like they are trying to cut corners and not at just this one. read more

I tried Outback's new Chimichurri Filet. The menu picture looked great. The ACTUAL product was not good- so dry and visually unappealing. The above picture is how the meal came out. It also came out without any chimichurri sauce- which is mind blowing. The bloomin' onion petals were over cooked and lacking in quantity and quality. The fries portion was much smaller than usual. This meal felt like a bunch of food scraps were haphazardly placed on a plate and then served. Overall it was incredibly disappointing. read more

We arrived at 6pm and were immediately seated. We placed our order at roughly 6:07 and got our soups at about 6:35. At 6:40, the owner came by to tell us they just sold out of the prime rib we both had ordered. He was apologetic but to have gotten that far into things to find out that what you ordered a half hour ago is now unavailable is unacceptable. I considered whether we should just go somewhere else, but on a rainy Saturday night, we likely wouldn't get to eat for an hour at least. Kitchen management is definitely lacking as they should know how much they have and whether they can fill your order much sooner. Finally, we reordered, this time going with a medium rare burger & some ribs. The ribs were "ok" but nothing above what you could get at a diner. The medium rare burger came out well done. When brought to the waiter's attention, he simply said sorry and walked away. I later got the attention of the manager who did offer to remake it, but since the burger took 25 minutes to get, I said no. We will not be returning; they just don't care that they're not running a professional restaurant worthy of my (or anyone's) money. read more

We had a good lunch here recently. This location hadn't been open for long, maybe a week or so, but the staff did a good job. I had the bloomin' fried chicken which was quite tasty - I love some good fried chicken. Also had a good side salad and seasoned rice which tasted good but was overcooked and mushy so I wouldn't order it again. Overall though, it was a good visit and I'm sure we will find ourselves there again sometime. read more

We went as 5 adults and 2 children(newborn and 1yr old) We waited over an hour for a table and the service was terrible. It took 2 hours from the time we arrived to get seated and the manager went to all kinds of tables around us to check on them and catered to them and never stopped at ours. The elderly table of 8 that sat next to us cleared there own table and they got food and drinks immediately and she said that she was giving them a credit for all there first round of drinks. I have never had such terrible service. We waited forever for refills but the tables around us got catered to. I will never return there. Do not go to this restaurant!​ read more

If you want to eat, go next door to Chili's. We did. After 35 minutes of waiting, the waitress told us there 4 tickets ahead of us. The place was only 1/3 full. It reminded me of one the restaurants on Kitchen Nightmare. I looked around while waiting, and no one looked happy. We went in on a Wednesday evening. It was crowded, but that's no excuse for how long it took to get our food (close to an hour). When my food arrived, the ribeye was nothing but nasty fat (as shown in the picture). I didn't have time to send it back since we had already been there for the whole evening waiting. The waitress is not good, very unpleasant and unfriendly. Instead of spreading out patrons their group all the Black people in one part of the restaurant basically and I didn't like that at all. When I left, I had the run you know what I mean? And the food was not all that great. I've been too many outback restaurant and as a matter of fact, I really like outback but this one was terrible. I will not go there again or recommend it. That being said you know how many stars I'm leaving. It won't be four or five stars. Middletown is a nice place to live and visit and we don't need a restaurant like this mostly I don't think it was the restaurant. I mostly think it was the waitress. Just to let you know this was our first time ever going there so there is no history about us, but I'll say it again. Dinner took over 35 mins to arrive. Steak tough and over Spiced in spite of me asking for light spices. Coconut shrimp were small, over fried to the point they were burned. They brought replacements which were lukewarm. Greasy too. Potato was still rock hard center. Sig other's dinner had overcooked shrimp and chicken. His Alfredo dish was also only lukewarm. Server was mediocre at very best. He disappeared with our credit card for over 15 mins. Bad enough we will find somewhere else next time. We waited and waited for this Outback to be opened too. We've been here several times and always have great service and yummy food! The waitstaff is attentive and friendly.

The potato soup was delicious. The server was nice but we didn't get our bread or condiments and our order wasn't correct when it came out. We were there for over two hours for lunch because the food took so long to come out. Most of the food was cold and too salty. What could improve? Everything! Texas Roadhouse down the road is much better. The quality of the meat is poor. They really need an experienced grill master. Service is rushed and fast foodish. The whole place is set up to rush you through your meal, once they serve you, which can take up to an hour! The "ambiance" is boilerplate. Prices are astronomical. I don't mind paying for good food. What they served wasn't even ok food. It was greasy, unevenly "grilled," and cold. I guess it must have been sitting on the counter for awhile before the esiter decided to bring it over. Grand opening week was very busy and even though the staff was working out a few kinks, we had an excellent experience. Our server was very attentive and our dinner was excellent. The drinks were very well made by the bar staff. Steaks were cooked to perfection and unlike the steakhouse across the street, there was very little grizzle. The barrel-cut filet was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The ribeye was also tender and bursting with flavor. The coconut shrimp appetizer was very good. We were at the Middletown, DE Outback on Sept. 1, 2024 late afternoon. They quickly found setting to accommodate me, since my back will not allow me to sit . We were quickly approached by our server, Daniel. He was cheerful, friendly and very polite. He was also great at his job! Checking to be sure everything was ok often enough, but not so often to be intrusive. The food arrived quickly and was well prepared.
