this is a 2 part review part 1. never been there. was looking for a sandwich kinda lunch. popped up in Yelp so why not? my question is can a frick'n cheesesteak have umami? the melding of the flavor with the Ochinilis sauce on it. delicious! and like a great Cheesestake MESSY!!!!! all over my jacket, next time just eat it there hunched over so it falls on the paper wrapper. O's is damn gooood! As close to home that I've had in a while. The name even befits an establishment that makes proper Cheesesteaks. I started with the base Cheeseteak, non-seeded roll, fried onions, light mayo. It wasn't overly stuffed like most spots in Philly. But, it was large and in charge. Stopped here yesterday for an Italian hoagie. It's built weird, but it was very good. Thinly sliced meat, fresh veggies (I could have used a little more) and a nice seeded roll. Had to ask for oil (or oil and vinegar if you prefer) salt, pepper and oregano. Glad I noticed it on the screen or I wouldn't have gotten it. Should be standard in my opinion. I would rate a 3.7 if I could. Very nice customer service as soon as you walk in. Very cheesy cheesesteaks and the meat is one of the best cuts I've had in Delaware. All one size and they are very filling. The jerk chicken cheesesteak was also very cheesy and had a nice kick to it. Not overly spicy. Fries were definitely overcooked for my liking. And not just a few but most of the basket. I would try this place again but maybe try out the hoagies. read more

Being so close to Philly, we're sometimes a bit jaded when it comes to Cheesesteaks. However, Ochinilis offers many delicious variety that should satisfy all tastes. This is not a low end steak shop, as their prices reflect so. But the old adage applies very well here, "You Get What You Paid For". All steaks are just loaded with meats, whether it's ribeye steak or salmon chunks. The buns are always soft and chewy, fresh tasting. Understand that taste is always subjective, but by all accounts, it's a well made sandwich no matter which one you order. Serving staff are friendly and helpful. They do have dine in facility, but it's very minimal in terms of seating and tables. I would recommend take outs. Overall, a great place to try higher end cheesesteaks. read more

Different cheesesteak #1084 in the last five years. I got the West Philly. It came with Ochinili's sauce and Ochinili made crispy onion rings. I liked the sauce and crispy onions. I don't hate the new high tech ordering system. I liked the gray walls and orange trim. I liked the meat. I liked the crustiness of the roll but not the breadiness. It had a good amount of melted cheese but it was mostly on the bottom. I disliked $17 very much. This cheesesteak had a distribution problem. The cheese was on the bottom and the sauce and crispy onion rings were on the top. Fix the distribution and you have a good cheesesteak. read more

The ingredients are so fresh and that shines through in each bite. Our favorite is the West Philly cheesesteak and it's literally perfection! The ribeye used is so flavorful, the bread is soft and fresh, and the crispy onions and Ochinilis sauce take it above and beyond! I think about this sandwich daily and drool profusely. I tried this place for the first time today. Live in Philly but visiting parents in Middletown. Not like anything in Philly, and it's mainly cause of the bread. I don't know why I keep giving them a second (third? fourth?) chance. The burgers and steaks are good, but they take 25+ minutes to make our order every time we go (even at off-peak times). Plus, they gave us the wrong food twice (we ordered the Ochinili's burgers not the cheese burgers). Too pricey for really bad service. I think we finally learned our lesson. Found this place about a year ago and wouldn't go through Middletown without stopping here. This is a place I recommend to all of my friends family etc. The last few times I have stopped here have been awful and that is all because of the customer service. The owners or the main runners are very rude and even the girls at the front are rude they do not greet you the way you greet them. Customer service isn't everyone's thing so I understand but atleast put someone at the front that would actually make my 5 minutes in the shop picking up my food enjoyable! Maybe it's just a coincidence, but lately I've noticed the their cheese steaks are shrinking. When I started getting Ochinilis sandwiches they we full sized.
