One of my favorite drinks is here and it's called the wallaby darned. It's a yummy mango frozen drink and I can't taste a lick of alcohol in it, but I always feel it. My favorite thing to get here is an appetizer and it's the blooming petals. They're always so crispy on the outside, and so soft and delicious on the inside. I went once when they had a promotion for a free blooming onion. Thinking it was generally the same thing as the blooming petals, I was really excited for it. I don't know how, but the onion just didn't live up to it's name. It was as crispy, seasoned or delicious as the individual petals. My boyfriend gets the steak which he always enjoys, I always do the queensland pasta which is really good. I love their shrimp, it's seasoned and grilled to perfection. I could eat a million of them. They're on the saltier side though, so that could put some people off. I had their Caesar salad once and it was so overdressed it was already wilting and a sopping mess. I generally stick to my usual though and it's always pretty great. read more

In a word, dismal. I came in about 30 minutes before closing time, and just wanted something quick after a long, hot, miserable day of working at a local music festival. I've worked as a line cook before, so I understand why late orders can be an inconvenience. At 30 minutes before closing, everyone is just trying to clean things up so they can go home. With that in mind, I was willing to keep my order simple. After walking in the front door, I saw a woman at the cash register, ringing up a customer and handing them their change. I was standing right in front of her, so she couldn't have missed me. Nonetheless, she did her best to pretend otherwise. As she hurriedly made her way toward the back of the seating area, I leaned forward in curiosity. The "sanctuary" she was heading toward consisted of a small group wait staff. They were huddled into the corner, as if being there absolved them of any responsibility for doing their jobs. If the woman at the cash register had just told me that they were done taking orders for the evening, I would have left without incident. But I guess they are doing so well at this location that deliberately ignoring people is acceptable conduct. For the record, the manager on duty (easily identifiable by their clothing and name tag) was no where to be found. The only upside to my experience is that I can discourage band members and festival attendees from wasting their time at this place. I am familiar enough with the area to direct them elsewhere, and will do so from now on. read more

The food and service was great! Great Job and shout out to our server Brent T, he did an amazing job.

Had not been to an Outback in a really long time due to an awful experience at the Cary location. Decided to give the Durham/Chapel Hill one a good ol' aussie try...conveniently located on 15-501 off of I-40W (exit) Nothing out of the ordinary struck me right off the bat. I did notice they have a 98 Health Score posted which was comforting. Greeted and seated quickly and met our server, Josh, just as quickly. Ordered the Wednesday promo, 'Walkabout', consisting of 6 oz. Sirloin, fries and a beverage (coke product or bud light). All of this for $9.99. Tremendous value! Steaks were cooked to our specifications and tasted good. Overall, 4 star experierence, and somewhat restored my faith in Outback. #aussierulz read more

I'm not a huge fan of Outback Steakhouse, but a friend really wanted to go, so we came here for dinner. I don't know if it's usually really busy, as I've seen other locations, but we were seated right away. Service was ok. It wasn't super attentive, but the waitress was nice. It's hard to find healthy options on the menu, and even harder to overcome the temptation of giving into the calorie ridden menu and overindulge. Since I've had bad experiences with ordering steak there (I asked for it medium rare and it was served blue--eewwww!!!), I went with "Perfectly Grilled Salmon". It was ok. It was pretty bland. And it's too bad that you can't get something flavorful and healthy. My boyfriend tried the Steakhouse Quesadilla with a salad. He thought it was a safe bet. I tried it and it was really disappointing. The steak was tough and overcooked, the cheese was kinda gummy, it was heavy on the chipotle spread, and it wasn't that hot when it arrived to the table. Sigh. I can't really recommend anyone to come here, but if you find yourself at a table at the Outback, you'll survive. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The nightmare began when my father and I walked in. There was no one at the hostess stand so we had a bit of a wait before the host came to seat us. We were not the only costumers who had that problem. Several people had to wait for the host to show to seat them. Even though there were no less than 3 waitresses standing at the bar looking at us and talking. We were finally seated and our waitress came over with menus and took our drink orders. We waited 10 minutes on a glass of water and a beer. The waitress took our meal order and left. We didn't see her again until she brought out our food 30 minutes later. I had the steak sandwich and my dad had the filet mignon. My sandwich was okay but the filet was under cooked and tough and fatty. We finished our meal and waited another 15 minutes for our waitress to show. First she asked if we wanted the check. I ask my dad if he wanted dessert and that's when our waitress asked if we wanted a dessert menu. My dad said all he wanted was the cheesecake. She left and returned with the cheesecake and that's when we asked for the check. She quickly returned with the check. The total was $58.26. We paid with a $50 gift card and a $10 bill to make up the difference. Our waitress returns with a with the gift and a new check for $8.26 and the $10 bill no where to be found. I had to track down a different waitress to ask to see our waitress. The waitress I tracked down said our waitress probably thought the $10 was her tip. I said no that was for the balance of our bill. That waitress went to talk to our waitress, who returned with change from the $10. For the record we were going to leave a tip, she didn't need to assume that money was for her. We would never leave that much for real bad service and dining experience anyway. We were not trying to stiff her. We did leave a tip. It would have been more if the service was better but at least it was something. Bottom line is save yourself time, money, stress and aggravation and go somewhere else if you are in the mood for steak. read more

First time walking into outback and Savanna was so helpful, she really gave a good explanation on everything to help me decide what to get. Will definitely be returning! read more

Had the mushrooms, filet mignon with lobster tail, baked potato and broccoli/cheese and a Red Oak draft. The food was perfect. Steak cooked to perfection, lobster was VERY tasty, broccoli and baked potato were very good also. Our server, Ladarius, was EXCELLENT! Very polite, professional and respectful young man. Knew exactly when we needed what and hooked us up. read more

1..8.18 4 pm. Went for a special dinner after my father got out of the hospital and he was craving a steak. Our meals were fantastic and the steaks cooked to perfection. Service was spot on and our food came quickly. But aside from the food was the excellent service provided by our server Michael G. My parents are older and require a little extra attention. Michael was so great and talked and joked with them which is exactly what they needed after the hospital stay. My father gets extremely lightheaded after meals and Michael went out of his way (during the busy dinner hour) to help dad out to the car. Good customer service is a rare commodity and Michael exceeded expectations. read more

I did not really have high expectations for a chain such as Outback. We came after a UNC game and decided to dine here because they were one of the places open and they are a part of dine rewards. The salmon was surprisingly really good, the bacon topping was okay. The salad was fresh and the ranch was authentic. The sweet potato was cooked to perfection and with the added honey butter and cinnamon it was just a well rounded meal. As a chain "steakhouse" I didn't expect the best dining experience of my life but our waiter was so pleasant and never once made us feel rushed even though we walked in 20 minutes before closing. Wouldn't be my first choice for dinner but I would definitely return. read more

We ordered takeout on Valentines Day. This is a traditional thing for us. Unfortunately that wasn't a good idea this year. It took a long time (over an hour) for the food to be ready and no one came out to our vehicle to tell us our food was ready. When we got the food we were missing a side of broccoli and my steak seemed rather small. At home I put the steak on the scale and it weighed 2.5 oz (I weighed it twice). I had ordered a 12oz steak. They managed to get a few things right, my mom and sister said their meals tasted good. After taking the food back, they corrected their mistake. They did not give an extra discount but they did fix the order and gave me a legit 12oz steak cooked to order while letting me keep the other. They also gave me a side order of fries and broccoli to cover the mistake with the sides. The food was good. However, I expect better out of a food chain like Outback. read more

I ordered the pasta thing, the fried onion thing, Caesar salad, and cheesecake. The pasta(the noodle itself) is kinda too thick and dull. The sauce is too discussingly creamy. I got a little nauseous after eating it. The onion thing is a complete disaster. There's so little crum and too much onion. You are pretty much eating raw oily onion when eating it. Ew. Not my cup of tea at least. read more

We got takeout. It was late, close to closing time. We ordered and it was not a very long wait. The order was completely correct. Everything was very good. The blooming onion was a little soggy/greasy but still good. Very impressed and happy! read more

This Outback experience was really top quality! I had called ahead so that they were aware of our arrival. The wait time for a table was not long at all - less than ten minutes, I know. When we ordered, the food arrived promptly and steaming hot. Those folks in the kitchen were really on the ball, especially for a busy Friday night. Our server, Brooke, was courteous and friendly, and attended our every need without being obsequious. I recommend the Ruby Mango Lemonade, a lightly spiked drink with lemonade, mango juice, and red grapefruit vodka, that doesn't taste like there's alcohol in it, until you get to the bottom. Whoever gave this Outback a crummy review must have gotten up on the wrong side of their world. I thought it was great. read more

Had lunch with friends on Tuesday 12/27/2022. Awesome Ashley Wilson was our server and she was phenomenal. She made recommendations for the meal, anticipated our needs for fill-ups, and was very forthcoming on what items she thought we would like. Her bubby personality reminded me of good customer service skills that are sorely lacking in HOSPITALITY elsewhere. Thanks Awesome Ashley. read more

Pretty decent food normally for decent prices. Love the Baked Potato soup, and the Bread. The grass fed burger was ok, lacked flavor. For a 13 dollar burger I expected better. My son got the Buffalo Chicken sandwich which he enjoyed. My friend ordered the Ultimate Great Barrier combo, he said for the most part it was really good. We sat in the bar area, service was ok at best. I used to here about twice a month but the last few times I've been here the service was so so. Service takes this down to a 3 star, sorreh. Guess it depends on who's section you land in if you have a decent meal or a great one. read more

Hadn't been to Outback in years but the other day I went with my son and it was exactly how I remember it. I got the filet minion, loaded baked potato, and broccoli. Waiter was friendly and kept checking on us to see how we were doing. Food was so delicious I wish I had room for a second plate lol Highly recommend!! read more

The reservation worked great, we were seated at the right time. However the quality of the food was a bit disappointing the potato was over baked and the steak was tough and not even warm when it was brought to the table. Thankfully the staff were great even though it was busy evening. read more

This place is absolutely HORRIBLE. By far the worst service I have ever experienced. We arrived when the restaurant first opened and The food was cold, my coworker ordered coffee and it was very cold! The bread was hard and cold as well. The sweet tea was not sweet at all and was so nasty. I ordered the steakhouse mac and cheese and it was cold and not cooked. Keep in my we arrived when they first opened and was told they ran out of lemonade and sweet potatoes. We waited 30 minutes for our meal to come out and another 25 minutes to get the check. When we received the check we each had the wrong amount on it! My coworker asked the young man to get the manager, his response verbatim "I can't help you"! I finally went to the back to grab the manager and told her this was the worst service I ever had. She said I'm just going to take care of the bill, you all go on. I am beyond furious right now and will NEVER eat at an Outback again in life, nor will I recommend it! Do NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME HERE! read more

After a great Yelp Elite event at Outback, I was excited to come back and experience great food and service again ... unfortunately, this second visit was a middling experience. My server was incredibly friendly and personable, however the service was incredibly slow. After we ordered beverages, he did not return to our table for more than 15 minutes to ask if we were ready to order. We were pleased to find the Big Aussie Bloomin Onion was as we'd remembered it, with plenty of cheese, fried onion, french fries and steak to feed the entire table. I then ordered a rack of ribs, which were covered in a generic, basic barbecue sauce -- hardly memorable. The cheese-covered broccoli side also left much to be desired. Sadly the crab cakes, my favorite part of the Yelp Elite event I attended, were unrecognizable. The meat was tough, the flavors were dull, and I found myself doubting if it was really the same restaurant, same location, that had served me such fabulous crab cakes several weeks before. When attending the Yelp Elite event, I was blown out of the water by Outback, and thought perhaps it was time to return to chain restaurants again. After this experience, I think I would prefer to spend my money supporting locally-owned businesses. My Outback experience was not necessarily bad, but I have had better dinners for the same price while supporting small business owners, and that feels good. read more

First, we had to wait for almost 2 hours to get a table for two. Once we got it, we ordered wings to start but when I grab the first one it was raw! I called the waitress and the cook came and apologized. The food took forever to get to us. Don't thing we will be back here ... what a disappointment read more

I wasn't going to give a review because after 7 or 8 chances, maybe me and my husband are just gluttons for punishment. However, I thought it needed to be known how awful the Togo service is. We've had multiple screw ups over the last year and the manager was gonna mail us coupons that we never received. Two weeks ago, we ordered to go again because, well frankly, I like the house salads. My husband ordered food and went to pick it up. He waited 40 minutes for our food and was greeted by a manger who brought the food to the car. He discounted our meals because of the wait and he brought it home. EVERYTHING in the bag was wrong. The worst part is we ordered a salad a particular way because my husband has a severe allergy to nuts. It had pecans on it. Thankfully, we caught this before he ate his dinner. When I called the manager to let them know how bad things were messed up I was told, "maybe it would be a good idea for you to let the kitchen know about this allergy when you call.".....Um, no just give me what I ordered. He also stated that he was going to mail me coupons. So I gave him my address. Two weeks later, of course they weren't here so my husband called to inquire about it. He spoke with a new manager this time and she stated that she was going to comp our dinner and took his order. Now, our orders are not complicated, but again our dinner was ruined. They completely left out a dinner so we just split our meal. As someone who used to work in the service industry, I am aware that mistakes happen but if the manager can't get the order right, how is the staff supposed to? We did not call to get something for free, we just wanted a quiet dinner at home after a long day at work. I don't understand why these people don't realize that they a ruining people's dinner. Needless to say, we won't be back. This was the last straw. The only reason they got 1 star is because it won't let me give them zeros. read more

I literally downloaded Yelp solely to leave this review. This restaurant is trash. The worst location I've ever been to. The service is terrible. The employees hang up on you constantly!!?? Had a great experience at this outback. Food was great and our server Omi was awesome!

Stopped by Outback on Mt Moriah St today because Texas Roadhouse only had 2 servers today. Our server was Omii. She was great. Even though she's about 8 months pregnant she did an outstanding job. She checked on us so many times. She made sure that everything was great for us. She really took good care of us. I think that having her as a server made our visit wonderful. We were very disappointed in this Outback! I'm going to be brutally honest. We were staying in a hotel because our daughter had an important appointment at the hospital the next day. Her favorite place to eat is Outback, so we ordered takeout since she has a heart defect and is extra vulnerable to the virus. Food was very cold, no eating utensils (which we specifically asked for), cinnamon spread spilled all over her steak, pasta had more green onions than pasta and that's all we could taste. We pre-paid and gave a $10 tip. Wish we hadn't. Not sure what the situation was, but I hope they can get their act together. read more

Of course the food was good, but I want to express our gratitude towards Trace, the manager at this location. My family is out here due to a lung transplant. A pill container was left on the table and we realized it was missing about an hour after we left the restaurant. We went back to the restaurant and right away, Trace was there to help. After searching around the table where we sat, he went in the back and found the pill container in the trash. We are so so thankful!!! As we rely very heavily on these specific pill containers and the medication. read more

I've been to some of the best steak houses in America, but wow, do they have nothing on Outback. The blooming onion... wow. The steak? Indescribable. Drinks? I'll have 3. Service was fast and with a smile! Take-out only available right now. But this was the first restaurant that got EVERYTHING right in our order. Even called the manager to let her know "job well done"! read more

I was so excited to finally try outback....and i am so disappointed...took forever for waitress to bring refills...or additional sauces...food was horrible...ordered dinner during lunch bc i wanted to full effect of the restaurant...revieved a med well instead of med ribeye full of grisle...my friend recieved a well done steak instead of a med well ...one side of my steak was burnt...the top half of the blooming onion was ok but the bottom half was way to greasy to eat...so very disappointed...even gonna stop my emails from them...what a waste of good money read more

Overcommitted for takeout for which they allow you to place an order and tell you it will be ready in 22-28 minutes. The parking lot is jam packed of cars with nowhere to go, the restaurant is packed, people are waiting in groups for seating. Was told they were an hour behind and would have to wait for my takeout order. Extremely disorganized and clearly not taking the pandemic seriously or putting it before profit. Never again. read more

Our server, Omii, was AMAZING! Always checked in on our table and was so nice. And the food was so good.

Stopped in half way through my drive for a sit down meal. Sat in he bar area because I didn't want to stay long. Although there were several tables available none were clean. I stood by one and asked three people if it was there section before getting a clean table. No one said I'll be right with you or anything. I order my steak - MEDIUM - they always repeat it back along with a description at outback. So why would you bring me an obviously well done steak. Did you think I wouldn't notice. What is the point of asking how I like it if you're gonna slap the next available steak on my plate regardless. The manager brought out my new steak but no apology. Way too many options today to continue to accept nonsense. read more

Very disappointing food. Ribs over cooked, baked potato undercooked, salad limp not crisp, and broccoli very undercooked.

If I could leave them 0 stars, I would. The service was horrible. Waiter kept forgetting items we requested. Steak was not cooked correctly, I sent it back twice before telling them to keep it. They ran out of bread. Asked for management, who never came. Requested fir servers to sing "Happy Birthday" twice, and they never came. We won't be back. read more
