This was our first time dining here. We received a gift card for our anniversary. It's super helpful that you can make reservations online, and it seems like most people have reservations when dining here. One odd thing was that we originally had a reservation for July 3 that got canceled the day of because they were closed that week. That was disappointing, and we only found out via an automated email. So, this August visit was my second reservation attempt, and thankfully no issues. Service was great. The food and drinks were good and reasonably priced. The provoleta appetizer and the chocolate soufflé were my favorites! I am not a steak person so I had the chicken caper - it was OK - but I'd probably try something else next time. My husband had the churrasco steak and said it was great! Overall, this was a nice spot that I plan to return to for special occasions when dining out.

The servers are extremely attentive. We were greeted immediately and seated at our reserved table. Although the menu leans heavily in beef entrees (it's a steakhouse!), there are other selections as well. I had the lobster ravioli and my husband had the churrasco. Both were good dishes. Dessert was the star of the show... do not miss the dulce de leche crepes! They were wonderful and extremely decadent!

Metro 8 is incredible! I don't usually go to Durham but definitely worth the trip. The Churrasco was incredible and I left enough room for the chocolate soufflé. Best decision!

Delicious churrasco and other inventish dishes. Amazing complimentary rolls. The ambiance is perfect for an intimate date or night out with friends. Service impeccable. Small convenient parking lot. Excited to return and try something else!

My friend and I came in around 6 pm on a Saturday evening without a reservation and we were seated right away. The ambiance was quite fancy and high end in my opinion. The lighting, linens, and decor all amplified the feeling of luxury. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful, she gave lots of recommendations and explained the menu thoroughly. Although this is a fancier restaurant, the menu prices seemed pretty reasonable. As someone who doesn't eat much steak, I was happy to see they had chicken, fish, and other non-steak options as well. I ordered the chicken breast with a side of broccolini. I was impressed with the juiciness and tenderness of the chicken - it was not dry at all! It had great flavor but I was most blown away by the texture. The broccolini was also very good. It was crunchy, well seasoned, and not too oily. Overall the meal didn't feel too heavy or greasy and the portions were satisfying. The only complaint I have is that the food took quite a while to come out, but aside from that this was an amazing, high end dining experience! My friend and I agreed we would both come back for sure.

My wife and I came for our anniversary. What a nice experience. Ali greeted us and gave a great recommendation for the chocolate soufflé for our anniversary dessert. Service was fast. Churrasco steak was delicious as well as the side of spinach Alfredo. The ambiance and decor was refined . 5 stars!

Empty plates. From three delectable deserts. Not shown is the urge it took to lick the Argentinian Dulce Deleche coating from my plate.

Our Metro 8 experience was amazing! The food was beyond delicious. Our waiter, Mason, set the standard for what exemplary care can look like at a fine dining establishment. Our cups were never empty as the staff consistently came to fill them up. The manager came to check in on our experience multiple times! Metro 8 sets the standard for what fine dining can be.

We went here for our Valentine's Day dinner. The restaurant was decorated with beautiful Valentine's themed items. The atmosphere was super intimate and relaxing. They served dinner rolls with a herb and butter sauce. That was amazing. We had a steak for our dinner that was absolutely cooked to perfection. I didn't necessarily want the spinach cooked in the Alfredo sauce and the cook made an exception and altered the dish for me. I would highly recommend this place for any occasion.

My husband and I ate here for Valentine's Day and had a most wonderful time. Our server, Allison, was delightful and attentive and we enjoyed talking with the owner. The food was exquisite, especially the desserts. YUM! Can't wait to visit again.

This spot has a cool ambiance! I went in as soon as it opened. I opted for dine in instead of the patio due to it being sooo hot outside. The inside gives me "rustic elegance" as the music whistles over the guests chatters. The service was spot on! Our waitress checked up on us at perfect timing and even (someone who looked like the manager) stopped by frequently, refilling our drinks. The menu options are small and it didn't help that they're out of shrimp due to COVID. I was told the stuffed shrimp is amazing . For starters I had both the empanadas and the chorizo. The empanadas comes with with and they're very large. It was very flavorful however I wish it came with a sauce. I also had the chorizo for an app. It's one sausage sliced up for you. Although it was appealing to the taste buds, the presentation could use a little something more; just one sausage is a little bland to the eye. For the entrée, I had the lobster ravioli with sautéed broccolini. This was good, needed some extra salt to bring out the flavor in the sauce and pasta but it was indeed delicious. My guest had a HUGE NY strip with beautiful grill marks and a heaping bounty of fries. For the miscellanies, parking is ok. It's a busy, busy street so if you get to park right out front on the side of the road then you're good to go. Lovely area for an evening stroll as well.

Came here on a Tuesday night about 7 or so and place was still pretty busy. Sat at the bar and had a glass of red from Oregon and it was a nice selection. Steaks were cooked just as asked and the meal was very good. We also ordered the spinach and artichoke with chips for an appetizer and I took a slice of cheesecake to go.

Went here last night for dinner (Jan 2022). I would absolutely eat here again. Food: The food is a fusion of American steakhouse with an Argentinian classic flavors. The quality and portion sizes are on point. Our cocktails were very good... I love a place that knows how to make a very dirty Martini! For an appetizer 3 of us shared empanadas and provoleta. Both were good - but the empanadas were AMAZING! The main courses we ate were the Churrasco and the Salmon with sides of broccolini, asparagus, and sweet potato fries. I can't tell you which dish was better but they were all very very good! Flavor was superb and food was cooked perfectly. We finished the meal off with a chocolate soufflé, key lime pie, and dulce de leche crepes. The crepes are a MUST HAVE! I wished I had enough of an appetite for 10 of those! Service: The Service was wonderful. The staff was all wearing masks and seated tables a nice social distance from each other. They were timely, knowledgeable, and personable. Ambiance: The food is a bit fancy but the atmosphere is casual and welcoming. It is my understanding that they recently moved locations due to a rent-raise from the old landlord during COVID-19 (landlord jerk-move!). So If you are in the neighborhood be sure to consider them next time you want a nice meal.

Even a month ahead of time, so good luck). But don't let it stop you if you don't have reservations, just be smart. We've learned to arrive when they open, because the bar and the high-tops in the bar area are all first-come first serve. There are times we've had just drinks and an appetizer/rolls or dessert. Other times we've gone for a full meal. Most recent visit was Saturday before an 8pm show at DPAC, and I heard words that I've never heard before that made me love them even more. "We will hold your leftovers for you until after the show". Uh, big heart for me! And smart for them, because we would not have ordered dessert otherwise, and I would have been sad to have had to waste even a bite of my fave, the roast chicken. Husband declared his "wedge" salad and filet to be perfection, and nothing makes him happier than a couple Dirty Durham's, while I can always find a nice glass of wine. We tried the Apple Crisp for dessert along with a couple coffees, and it was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. The Service was also terrific, as always. Always. And sure enough, my leftovers were bagged up and ready and waiting when we got out of the show. Just when I thought they couldn't possibly get better, they did.

I arrived as soon as the doors opened at 4pm on a cold & windy Sunday. Dining at Nana Steak was a last minute decision and I didn't have a reservation. The bar area is first come, first served. The actual bar filled up really quickly, but I was able to grab a 4 top table even though I was a party of 1. Nana Steak has an intimate and welcoming vibe and the service is amazing. Jared was my server and he was the best!! I started with the soup of the day, cream of spinach. The flavor was awesome, and as Jared mentioned, it wasn't a heavy creamy soup, it was light and delicious. For my entree I ordered the 6 oz Filet medium, it was cooked perfectly and had the best flavor. I didn't really need a knife it was so tender. For my side, I chose the potato puree (mashed potatoes) and they were like whipped silk, and seasoned perfectly. I made sure to save room for dessert and I'm so glad I did. The chocolate silk pie complimented my glass of red wine perfectly. I ate every bite. I definitely recommend dining at Nana Steak, make a reservation if you can. I hear the cheeseburger and the rolls are both delicacies, they only make a certain amount a day. Make sure you ask your server about the specials of the day that aren't on the regular menu.

When looking at a restaurant, it is important to consider the entire dining experience, including ambiance, service, and food. Little Bull achieved excellence in all these categories. __ Tom Kha Ceviche - Snapper, coconut leche de tigre, mixed peppers, sweet potato, choclo, peanut, salsa macha, onions, and plantain chips. The snapper was incredibly fresh, which paired perfectly with the coconut leche de tigre. The broth was well balanced with richness from the peanut butter and salsa macha, sweetness from the sweet potato and choclo, and spice from the peppers and onions. The plantains were the perfect way to bring all the ingredients together. __ Gambas a La Plancha - Shrimp, salsa piquin, onion, and ciabatta. The shrimp was well-cooked and tender, delivered with the perfect char, bringing the right sweetness while pulling in the spicy and smoky flavors from the salsa piquin. The ciabatta was a nice accompaniment to this dish, helping you soak up the amazing base sauce. __ Winter Cabbage - Charred NC Cabbage, Salsa Malcojeta, Beans Mousseline, Cumin Vinaigrette, and Salsa Macha. This was a complex dish, with the creaminess of the mousseline, the charred flavor of the cabbage, the nuttiness of the salsa macha, and the earthiness of the cumin vinaigrette. While I figured this dish would have a little spice, this dish was super spicy. I would have liked the waiter to have advised us of this before we ordered the dish. __ Arepas - Cheese arepas, chicken guasacaca, cilantro and avocado aioli, avocado mousse, sour cream and pickled onions. The cheese arepas were cooked perfectly, with a nice, crisp exterior complementing the soft interior and pairing nicely with the chicken, cilantro, and avocado flavors. The pickled onions and sour cream added a nice balance to the dish. My only complaint would be that I would have liked a little more flavor. It seemed to be lacking something, making it a little bland. __ Presentation was impeccable. I love how they curated each dish and really highlighted all the ingredients. It definitely represents why they were mentioned in the Michelin guide. __ Overall, this is a must-visit restaurant for any occasion. This is the second time I visited the restaurant and have officially made it one of my go-to restaurants for different occasions.

But this is where my MiL wanted to go for Mothers Day so my husband and I took her, along with my brother and sister in law. We got there at 11:30 on Sunday and it was pretty busy but not packed yet. Before we even entered the building, an employee handed the women in the party each a rose! What a lovely touch. My MiL is disabled and so we got her situated in the waiting area before going up and adding our party to the wait list. The hostess immediately got us a table and we were seated right away, which was also very nice. Our server was Sierra and she was delightful. She brought us SO MUCH bread and it was so deliciously warm. I try not to eat the bread before the meal so I can eat most of my entree, but this bread is amazing. And with the cinnamon honey butter?! I forgot how yummy it was. All of my in-laws got the smothered chicken with loaded sweet potatoes and house salads as their sides. My husband and I got ribeye's (cooked medium). I got my with a house salad and loaded mased potatoes, while my husband got a Caesar salad and baked potato with butter. Y'all, their salads are really, really good. They were fresh and the croutons are phenomenal. We didn't wait too long for our food which was impressive since it was so busy. Sierra waited for us to cut into our steaks before she walked away. They were cooked perfectly. I thought they were seasoned really well but my husband said his could have used more salt. My mashed potatoes were tasty but my husband wished is baked potato was warmer...he said it wasn't even melting all the butter. The smothered chicken looked good as well. The manager came over at least twice during our meal to make sure that everything was ok. When Sierra brought us our check, she told us there was no rush, which was kind but we left as soon as we could since they were packed. I'm not sure if they are under new management, but the service we received exceeded expectations. I was very pleased. My only complaint (which there is really nothing they can do about this) is the noise level. It was so loud that it was difficult to hear my soft spoken MiL. Otherwise, I will be very happy to return here!

Unfortunately, the management team tonight was a complete disappointment. First, credit where it's due--our server, Kaylee, was great. She checked on us multiple times and did everything she could to help. The problem was not the server. The problem was management. My food came out extremely salty--so salty my lips were literally starting to shrivel up (the fries somehow tasted bland in comparison). I let Kaylee know, and she went to the kitchen and came back explaining it may have been due to the brine. I asked to switch my order, which she said was no problem. It was a busy Friday night, so I completely understood the replacement might take longer. What I don't understand is the complete lack of management involvement. Kaylee explained that when an order is remade, a manager is supposed to deliver it to ensure the issue is resolved and the guest is taken care of. She told us she repeatedly asked for someone to come to the table. They never did. Meanwhile, tables that were seated after us finished their meals and left. The person I was dining with finished their entire meal. And I was still sitting there waiting. No manager came to apologize. No one came to explain a delay. No one came to check on the situation. Nothing. Communication is the bare minimum in customer service. A simple update or acknowledgment would have gone a long way. For context: our table was ready at 6:36 PM and we didn't leave until 8:14 PM. Sadly, this isn't the first disappointing experience I've had at this location, but it will be the last. For anyone in management who might read this, I'd strongly recommend two books: Uncommon Service: How to Win by Putting Customers at the Core of Your Business & You're Not Listening: What You're Missing and Why It Matters. At this point, I won't be returning--but hopefully this review saves someone else from the same experience. I've gotten better experiences with McDonald's management team; that says a lot right there.

Here's some of my other favorites: Smoked Hamachi Puree- the toaste brioche goes perfectly with this pate-like fish dish, so insanely delicious Caramelized Onion Tart- the robiola foam is a dream and pairs perfectly with the apple Carrot Cavatelli- I would literally write the chef personally if this item was ever removed from the menu. Trust me, just order this for the table. King Trumpet- there's not much better than a grilled trumpet mushroom Seared Scallops- such a fantastic dish that comes with creamed greens and little pasta to accompany it Braised Beef Short Rib- meaty and delicious, exactly as you would expect Chocolate Mousse- a delicious, decadent dessert that's the perfect way to end a meal All in all, you can't have a bad meal at Littler. Plus the service is always excellent and they pay their staff a living wage! Definitely a do not miss in Downtown Durham

We were pleased with all the items ordered - especially the carrot cavatelli and escarole. We had the early spring 2025 menu to choose from. Entrees were delicious but slightly smaller than expected, which was the only downside. The bill definitely adds up if you have a drink with entrees

The Breakfast Fried Rice that I selected, featuring wild-caught NC shrimp, roasted mushrooms, broccoli, edamame, jasmine rice in a soy-ginger sauce, omelet, and Yum Yum Sauce, was delicious. To complement my meal, I also opted for the Pomegranate Hibiscus Spritzer mocktail. The servers were great and even in passing every staff i encountered was pleasant. On a different note, I couldn't help but notice that the water glasses on the table had noticeable water stains. Given the elegant setting of the hotel lighting fixtures and the significance of first impressions for me, it was a bit of a setback to observe this. The hostess tried to find me a glass that wasn't stained but never returned. I ended up passing on water. I would suggest improving the glasses by removing the stains or getting new ones. I would also recommend a better clean-up of the seating after each guest. I saw a few crumbs. Parking was effortless. A parking deck is right across the street. It's free on the weekends.

I ordered the Breakfast Fried Rice and my partner ordered The Full Durham. The breakfast fried rice was very flavorful and savory, and the egg was very fluffy. The full Durham included a lot of food - I found the home fries to be tasty, but I wish they were a little more seasoned. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely return to check out the dinner menu.

Christmas time is beautiful, as they decorate the ceiling with garments and ornaments and other decorations around the massive restaurant, but reservations are needed no later than 6 months in advance. If you're fine waiting 3 hours for a table max, then you will be fine. Every single time we come to Angus Barn, something is different. Now they give you a soup or salad with your meal, along with bread! The cheese and crackers are famous among the people and are a great way to start your meal. The bread is so fresh also! All components in their house salad is great. Everything is awesome! The prime rib is tender and has such good flavor. Their mac n' cheese is the way to go. Their recipe is constantly changing. Like what I previously said, something is different every time you come to Angus Barn. The chocolate chess pie is the best I've had. This is a MUST when dining at Angus Barn. You HAVE to get the chocolate chess pie. The service is some of the best in the restaurant business and all do a great job at explaining things. So kind and professional! Once again, if you're around Raleigh and don't come to Angus Barn, you are missing out. I highly recommend you come. So good!

I came to visit Durham for the first time in a long time And was pleasantly surprised to see all…read morethe new and exciting restaurants. A friend suggested we try this place. We made a reservation and were seated upon arrival. Our host was Anthony, I think his name was, with a keen interest for ginkgo trees. He was very attentive, friendly and extremely helpful. He took her order and had some good suggestions. I was craving shrimp and grits which was probably the most unique shrimp and grits. I've had ever. Very distinct flavor and still very rich and familiar. The shrimp were large and juicy as well as remained crunchy overall cooked very well. We also had the summer tomato and burata salad which was really refreshing and delicious. My friend ordered the mac and cheese which is a hefty serving size. Definitely a shareable side or a main for one person. Our host came to check on us frequently, our Waters never went empty. Other hosts were also helping check in on us which was nice. The restaurant itself is large. Booth tables available, which made for a cozy environment. We ended the night with some brownie a la mode, which was the perfect dessert to have on a hot summer day. Overall the experience was amazing, great food and incredibly nice people. Definitely Miss miss the southern hospitality of Durham. Definitely recommend a try here at plum Southern kitchen & bar.

The menu had recently changed so we got to try quite a few new items. We tried the panzanella- sweet corn, red beans, heirloom tomato, patty pan squash, pea tendrills, and a roasted red pepper vinaigrette. This dish was my favorite of the night- small but shareable, entire dish was refreshing and all the flavors and textures went together so well. For dinner I ordered the roasted chicken and the baked mac and cheese with bacon. The roasted chicken was juicy and tasty, and a bit sweet with the bourbon ginger and plum reduction, but the mac and cheese seemed dry and overcooked. We also ordered the buttermilk cheddar biscuits- that taste slightly undercooked (in a good way), so the texture was soft and chewy (and amazing). The honey butter and large maldon salt granules made the biscuits perfect. They were so good we ordered a second order!! I would definitely return to Plum, for both the food and hospitality.
