Had lunch last week with a friend at the Durham Outback. Jane was our waitress. She was terrific - friendly, knowledgeable, professional, effective and efficient, attentive and just a pleasure. She sets the standard by which waiters and waitresses should be measured. Make sure to ask to sit in her section. She will make your meal that much better. read more

Nas A was a great server. He was able to handle our needs wonderfully despite having to deal with some pretty rude customers. The food was also great as always! read more

I had to grab a semi-late dinner on a Saturday. The parking lot was packed. It took me a while to find parking. When I arrived, there was a 15-20 minute wait. As told, I waited for that amount of time. I finally got a seat in the corner. My waitress was awesome! She was by far one of the best waitresses I've ever had. She was waiting on a huge table by me consisting of a 10-15 party, along with a few other tables. She was able to make her rotations smoothly and made sure that I was taken care of. Respect to that! My ribeye came out perfectly. It was just the right amount of 10 oz steak to pair with my fully loaded potato. The Caesar salad was also on point. I was really impressed. Overall, good steak but it was a bit salty for my likings. I would've been fine without salt, just a side of steak sauce. Overall, great dining experience! read more

Brittany was a terrible server. We had to leave without having our meal. She did not come and check on us and then she wanted to blame another table for taking too long to order. I think giving her an hour was enough time to get it right before we left. If you go there to eat just ask not to be sat in Brittany's section. read more

We haven't eaten here in years, and while over that way we decided to try it out. Service was great. Everything else has gone down hill - a steep hill. No need to draw this out so I'll just list our woes: 1) The women's bathroom was disgusting and two toilets were out due to being stopped up. 2) The steak was really fatty - and no we didn't order a fatty cut of meat. 3) Other than the salad, every single item was so salty it was almost not eatable. 4) We ordered the Chocolate Thunder from Down Under as we've always loved it. Somehow they've even managed to screw this up and it's now tasteless. 5) Both of our stomachs hurt after eating - and not from being over full. 6) Way too expensive for what it is. Sad when good places decline so much. read more

First time eating here, food was decent. Not what we were expecting. Server seemed relatively new or maybe just overwhelmed. We got the special for two, which came with appetizers, salad, entree, and dessert . All our food got to the table at once which overwhelmed the table and made it very difficult to move while trying to keep a 2 year old still. Salad was missing dressing and steak was overly spicy for some reason. When I spoke with the manager she said the steaks normally are seasoned that way , which is fine if that's how they do it but the waiter didn't communicate that to us. The table across from us who had the same waiter also had issues with their food and getting things for their table. Restaurant wasn't busy either. read more

Good: ease of ordering through Seamless. Food was hot and tasted great. Bad: the curbside attendant was not personable. She walked up to my car and when I rolled my window down she literally just stood there with this look on her face as if she was saying "okay say something." I had to tell her twice who I was. 3 cars that drove up after I got there received their food before I got mine. Finally my food was brought to me 7 minutes late. I drove all the way home. Missing items: extra sour cream and I didn't have any at home. Big issue: chicken was undercooked. I ended up having to cook it a little longer myself. read more

I will start off by saying I am not a huge chain restaurant fan. While on business I chose to walk to Outback since it was across the street. My thoughts: Food - food is decent. Steak was cooked at I requested and the vegetables were fresh. Drinks - martini not half bad. The beer - ice cold! The SERVICE -- wow! I was in the restaurant industry for 14 years and held every position you could imagine. I have never seen an entire staff be so polite, friendly, welcoming, and accommodating!!! I'm not kidding. The bartenders ask everyone's names and the rest of the staff addresses you as if you were regulars. It happened to myself and others this evening. I did overhear the manager handling a minor situation and he was extremely polite and tried to correct the situation the best that he could. (Honestly, it wasn't the restaurants fault - one of those very picky customers). I hope others in the area are able to enjoy their experience as well. Chris and Aaron at the bar, thank you. You guys were excellent! read more

Outback Steakhouse - Steakhouses Near Me - Durham, North Carolina

Came here for lunch and have to admit that everything was really good. Service was quick, our food came out quickly, and the food was all really good. We ordered cheese fries, fried mushrooms, pecan salad and blue cheese pecan salad, and 6oz sirloins with loaded baked potatoes. The food was very good and the cheese fries especially were a large portion. Maybe the only small complaint would be the steak was a little salty but nothing to be upset about. Overall, I would come back! read more

I would like to write this review as a alert on a food dish that I had ordered on 2-21-21. It is called the grilled shrimp and fettuccine noodles tossed in a bold Alfredo sauce. The fettuccine noodles was very undercooked and tough. While eating my grilled shrimp and fettuccine noodles after a few minute my lip, tongue and my mouth start to burn like fire. My complaint is the menu did not state that this dish the Grilled shrimp and fettuccine noodles would be hot, spicy, peppery, Cajun, burning or fiery. My concern is protection for the children or anyone who are not use to eating foods that have capsaicin in it. My server name was Miranda. She provided ice cream to help stop the burning. Miranda spoke on how her family raised and trained her to eat hot food. And Miranda also learned how to tolerate hot foods from eating Indian foods. Miranda should know that her childhood training on eating hot foods from her family was not very comforting to me or my hot and burning lips, tongue, mouth. read more

Tried to book a 19 person Special Olympics at Texas Roadhouse in Burlington, NC but was not pleased with the professionalism about booking groups and they declined my YELP booking. But I called Outback in Durham and talked with a Bobbie Ann and was greeted professionally on the phone and she didn't hesitate to book over phone and when we arrived she greeted us with a most welcome smile and showed us our table which was set up and ready for us. Our waitress, Arianna was great and our food came out fast and was very good. Recommend this steak house for groups! read more

This was my second visit in three months. The first order I complained about because my bloomin onion was smashed and my bread wasn't included. The second order was much better, the staff probably ensured it was so because I used comp gift cards from the restaurant. Three stars because the comp gift cards didn't work online, so I had to place the order over the phone and go pick it up in the rain, when I wanted delivery (as originally ordered). I know now to order over the phone if I want my order to be correctly made and to pick it up so I can check it before I leave the restaurant. read more

Been going here for years as takeout service is usually accurate, reliable, and efficient. They have really fallen off with their takeout service. Pulled up tonight, sat there for 10 minutes, literally the only call there. Finally walk in and two employees who are standing there basically ignore me. Finally the server asked what my name is and grabs my food off the shelf which has just been sitting there and I pay for it. Just a miserable experience. They seem poorly managed. read more

Hello, I need someone from corporate to contact me asap. My family and I experienced a life or death moment at this restaurant on May 28th 2023. After waiting for over an hour for our food to get to the table, different family members went to the restroom and noticed the staff having a whole party in the kitchen. There was a happy birthday banner they were all in the kitchen signing "I got sunshine on a cloudy day" as the song was blasting in the kitchen. Okay, cool the staff is celebrating a coworker's birthday and we the customers hungry waiting on our food, not cool or professional/care service. Then after getting our food there were 3 of us that had to send our steaks back due to them not being cooked as requested when ordering. Not once but twice and the light skin guy with a green shirt and braids came to the table to deliver the 2nd steaks and was rude because we made him aware that this was the second time and the steaks still weren't cooked right and we were sending them back now for the 3rd time and wanted a manger. He said everything else but I'll take the steaks back so the kitchen could get it right. Okay we finally all get something to eat, we ate and now we are sitting after packing take out boxes, waiting at the table for our checks. The waiter knew we were ready to leave she brought the checks one time and they were split up wrong she went back to fix it, we waited for 45mins very close to an hour waiting and talking with each other before we realized we still had no checks. Some of us got up and stood in the waiting area were the host would normally be. Instead of the staff helping the waiter fix the checks they(light brown tall girl she had her hair pulled back with a big dry puff ball on, and the guy with the green shirt) walked up to us saying y'all can't leave she fixing the tickets. I said excuse you, how are we leaving and we standing right here looking at you all standing around instead of helping your co worker get the tickets right? She told me it was her job to come say something to us, then the guy in the green shirt started to say whatever he was saying. By this time we were all in disbelief on how we not only experienced terrible customer service from the kitchen to the waiter till now we getting accused of trying to basically steal food, then to top the night an employee another waiter decided to CONTINUE TO PULL OUT A GUN, YES A GUN ON MY MOM AND MY CHILDREN, MYSELF, MY SISTERS, MY NEPHEWS, MY COUSINS. Please someone contact me. #That star was only way I could leave this review. read more

This is basic. Food is good and prices a comparable. I love the onion petals which are a nice size for 2 as oppose to the blooming onion which is delicious but too much for a couple. The house salads are very good with a nice proportion. I seem to always get the medallions because it is enough steak for one. They are always nice and tender! read more

Halee rockstar serving. She totally made it worth our trip there! Great food, great friends and GREAT SERVICE!

If I could rate 0 I would... I Just recieved worst customer service ever!!!! I ordered delivery they charged my card 3x only to tell me no charge went through. Then I finally recieved order with things missing. Manager Jennifer A claimed she took things from my order to replace money shortage. I have called a million times now to get no where. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT EVER.... RUN AWAY..... seems like a scandal to me but I won't know for 3-5 business days.... again I repeat RUNAWAY read more

I figured it was time to review Outback Steakhouse. My family eats at this location quite often. The staff is very friendly and the food is good. The prices are what you would expect. I absolutely LOVE the Blue Cheese Pecan Chopped Salad. Last night I had that salad and the center cut sirloin and lobster tail (pictured). I really enjoy the Dine Rewards (which can be used for '50% off' - which is typically up to $20, except for one restaurant being up to $40 off). Definitely would recommend! read more

I visited this outback on January 6th while traveling for business. We were quickly seated and given menus to review. Our waiter came over and took our order within 5 minutes of us being seated. The waiter advised that he was new so to bear with him but he did really well. It was happy hour so I enjoyed a strawberry adult beverage that was truly refreshing and tasty. I ordered the surf and turf and it was also very satisfying. The steak was cooked perfectly and the shrimp had a nice a char to it. The manager made rounds to ensure that all guests were happy....no complaints here! read more

Steer clear of Isis if she is tending the bar. Unjustly rude and clearly did not want to be there! However, Shay (both of them) and Zori are excellent at the bar and at service. We appreciate that the work force is suffering so thanks for showing up and doing the job with some pride. We love Outback when we can make it there. Wish the trip last night hadn't been tainted by one with a bad attitude. Hope your night turned around Isis. read more

2nd horrible experience. When will I learn? I've always been a fan of Outback-nothing too fancy, just a decent steak with good atmosphere and service. This Outback, however, is just the pits. Terrible customer service, very poor food quality. I typically sit at the bar. The worst bartenders! You have to beg to place your food order. Beg for silverware. Beg for a drink refill. Then, once again, beg for your bill...so you can get the heck out of this place. It's a pass!! Don't waste your time. So, I tried the curbside service. Food was 15 minutes late being brought to my car. Additionally, it was terribly over-seasoned and cold. This is, without a doubt, one of the most poorly managed Outback's. read more

Outback Steakhouse - Steakhouses Near Me - Durham, North Carolina

I came here craving a steak and not wanting to travel too far since I live in Chapel Hill. As most outback steakhouses, this place was packed and so I figured it would be promising. About 35 minutes later I was finally seated and then 20 minutes later I had my food in front of me. I ordered a medium ribeye and it was hard and chewy. It was probably one of the worst steaks i've had in a very long time and I was so disappointed. I hope they figure things out because I really like outback when I was in Cali... read more

This particular location is in slow decline. There were four of us for dinner and all of us have been here before with inconsistent service and food quality. This was the last time we will dine at this location. We sat in the bar at a booth for four. Ordered drinks and an appetizer. It took a long time to get the drinks, but they were busy. We ordered steaks and salads to start. Nothing complicated. The steaks arrived. Still no salad and no bread. They took the steaks back and apologized and assured us that we would have fresh steaks after our salads. Manager came by to apologize. Salads came. Still no bread. Manager came back and apologized. Then brought bread. Steaks came. Clearly they had been left under warmer but we were hungry and they were passable. But not fresh. Potatoes were old and brown inside. They replaced them. More apologies. No dessert. Many apologies and a less than mediocre food. $88. No offer of a discount or any other consideration. The managers were friendly, however there needs to be a serious re-accomplishment of training at this location. read more

Our worst experience ever! The worst part was probably the murdered past well done steak ordered medium. We barely saw our waitress. She never came back to check on us after food was delivered by someone else. She never came back at all really until check time which was collected by someone else. Pointing out the overdone and uneaten steak, we were offered another to-go but declined because we shared our dish and weren't hungry anymore. So glad we paid for a steak we didn't eat. Also, we weren't given silverware. A unsweet tea came out sweet. It could have been busy due to SuperBowl Sunday, but looking around not even half the tables were seated. We have serious doubts about ever coming to this location again. read more

Outback Steakhouse - 6oz Outback Special - Steakhouses Near Me - Durham, North Carolina

Love that Outback serves lunch! However, for them to not be very busy, service was kind of slow. There are lots of choices for food & I was so happy there are mix & match combo choices. I went with the loaded baked potato soup & rib eye sandwich. My waiter was also the bartender, so he was quite busy, but he was friendly. My bowl of soup was super small (disappointment), but the half sandwich was a good size. Temperature & taste were perfect. Pricing for the lunch menu is reasonable & there's plenty of parking. read more

We always enjoy the food here but this review is about the great service we received from our server, AMBER. I got the four course meal for $15.99 and loved it! I started off with a french onion soup. The soup could have been better, but french onion soup is very hit or miss. In this case, the soup itself was too thick and the onions too mushy. I got a caesar salad for my second course and it was delicious! for my entree i got a 6 oz sirloin steak with a fully loaded baked potato and it was fantastic. the steak was well cooked and the baked potato was delicious as well. the raspberry cheesecake i got for dessert was good but i wish the cheesecake had a crust! read more

Tried curbside take away, waited 25 minutes. Almost 10 for the server to realize there was a car, got the wrong change, and waited again for the order to come out. Then the salad was brown. So disappointing! I had been looking forward to steak. Bleh! Failed experiment. read more

Outback Steakhouse - Salad from Outback. Not very fresh. - Steakhouses Near Me - Durham, North Carolina

We've stopped at this Outback a couple of times. On the latest occasion, my bride and I were returning home from a trip to no-man's land (aka Pittsboro) to pick up some furniture accessories I'd purchased from a model home silent auction. We were hungry and decided this would be a "safe" bet to stop for some grub. Some Outbacks are better than others, and this one seems pretty average compared to the one on Creedmoor Rd or the one in Herndon, VA, but much better than the one on Capital Blvd by Sam Ash. I do have to say the steaks here are exponentially better than anything I've had at Angus Barn in Raleigh, but the place wouldn't measure up to a Morton's or Sullivan's as far as food quality and service goes. Reality check, though - if I want a good steak at an affordable place, this isn't a bad place to stop. The steaks were good except for being slightly overcooked, the service okay, and the artery clogging bloomin' onion just tasted a little off (again, compared to other Outback steakhouses). The wedge salad was pretty awesome, though. Can't say this would be a regular stop because it's a bit out of the way for me. read more

When my group walked in, the hostess grabbed two menus and asked us to follow her. She didn't ask how many were in the group. So, I told her we needed a spot for four and she took us to the tiniest table you've ever seen. My husband is 6'8" and could clearly use some leg room. We were then shown to a table directly below the air-conditioning and told it would be freezing there. So, we finally asked our server to move us. Fourth time is a charm, I guess. Our meals and appetizers were appetizers were all correct, served warm and tasted good. I would give four stars except for the weird table-shuffling we were forced into at the beginning. read more
