We were greeted at the door and sat in a booth with crumbs on the seat. We were asked "do you want me to wipe that off?" We then proceeded to wait as of right now over 20 minutes to be asked if we would like a drink? Or perhaps want to order some food.... Tons of staff zoom pass never once acknowledging us... unorganized disaster smh. Never again... my date was the only reason I stayed... server kianna finally came to our table and the other table waiting. I sat at the bar. Wednesday, 6 PM, not busy. Got a beer right away. The dishes from the two people who had left before I arrived were still on the bar, along with lots of crumbs and liquid. After 15 minutes or so I got tired of sitting next to dirty dishes at a dirty bar, and after watching the servers walk past the dishes numerous times, I asked one if anyone ever bussed the bar. "Yeah, the bartender" was the answer, in a very matter of fact "not MY job" tone. So, I started cleaning it up. The bartender finally took a hint and began cleaning up the bar. I ordered food, and after 10 minutes asked if I could perhaps have some bread, and got it. My food arrived, and I sat looking at it awhile, and finally asked a passing server for a napkin and utensils. After another while, I asked the bartender for the horseradish sauce that's supposed to come with the prime rib. By this time, my meal was about as warm as my mood. The food was good, though the prime rib was somewhat overcooked. Their Mac and cheese is excellent, potato was good. In the end, the service took away from what would otherwise have been a fine eating experience. The bartender was friendly enough, she just wasn't very good at her job. For an Outback, the service should be far better. read more

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. Firstly we were sat at a dirty table. We asked the waiter to re-wipe the table. He wiped the crumbs from the table on to the benches. The service was extremely slow, even though there was very few people in the restaurant. I ordered a burger and my Husband ordered a steak. The burger was flavorless and greasy and my Husbands steak was extremely over cooked. The mushrooms on my Husbands steak were not fresh and tasted dirty. When my Husband was half way done with his steak he notices a long black hair on the plate under the steak. We decided to just pay for our meal and leave. We will never go back. read more

I've always loved Outback steaks, and this is my first time going to this particular Outback. I used the curbside service and got the Outback sirloin, potato, salad and bread. Simple enough, right? Ordered my steak medium and specified pink in the middle. It came extremely well done, including burnt edges. On the other hand, I had to put my potato in the microwave to finish cooking it. Definitely the worst meal I've ever had at an Outback. Not sure if I will be going back to this one. Only reason for the 2 stars was the bread was great. Chose to eat here for my birthday because it's always packed and it's new to Dover. My server Nicole was amazing, she tended to every detail and interacted with my little sister the whole meal. I recommend you seat with her!! The food was fairly good, had to send steak back because it wasn't cooked medium well, still had blood. Other than that I enjoyed my sweet potato. The broccoli and cheese was different than I expected but they weren't bad.. Nicole also brought me a piece of cheesecake with candles after I finished and boxed my plate for me which was so awesome. Granted it's new and needs to work out a few kinks, but we were brought other people's food at least 4 times if not more. The apps and drinks were great but my meal was lackluster. 17$ for a chicken dish that was covered in Parmesan, which was fine, but the topping covered the fact that the chicken was burned and tough. I'm all for charred but not burned. Plus it took forever to get it, which we were expecting because it was so busy, but I was hoping for a great meal. First of all, it took song time to get a table. The restaurant was not busy. They say us in the bar and they constantly chatted to each other. We had to ask for bread twice. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by all three bartenders even though the bar was full and the line was out the door waiting for a table. I ordered food after I finished my first beer. My salad arrived almost immediately and was crisp and fresh. I ordered a T-bone porkchop cooked medium and not only did it arrive at the requested temperature, no one thought it was odd. Yay! Dover got an Outback!! Saturday afternoon, had a 15 minute wait for a table for 2- not bad. However there are people all over the place, so that makes it hard to get through to the hostess stand. Anyway, was seated, hostess was nice as well as the server. Ordered well done steak with unlimited shrimp. The two options are crispy and grilled.. but the grilled actually come in some kind of buttery garlic sauce..bleh! Cut into my well done steak to find it not well done at all. Informed server and she had a new one made for me. While waiting the manger visited the table to apologize (without me having to ask for a manager) good job. The crispy shrimp was fried very hard. Out comes the cook with my new steak, he asked me to check it out before he left...first cut it looked fine. As I continued to eat I find that it was not well done all the way through! Dissapointed as this is a steak house. Had a coupon, server mixed up my check with another table. So, she had to rerun my credit card. Noticed a few things with the servers- carryout boxes dropped to floor and server still gave to her table - a no no. Our server who brought the shrimp had hand over the plate of food.. again a no no. Well this was the first time I visited the Dover Outback Steakhouse. It was four of us altogether and we were seated right away. Not seated very long before our waitress came over (I wish I could remember her name) because she was attentive and excellent at what she does. We did have to call her for refills or anything because she constantly checked on us. At our table was one appetizer because only one person wanted the appetizer, after it got there we all had a taste, it was so good and plentiful that we all ate it. That was the fried onion. Then one entree with shrimp and there was no complaints, the other entree was Porterhouse Steak (MW), and there were no complaints. The other two entrees were cheese steak sandwiches. One of them were mine and the only complaint was that they were so greasy, but they were also good; matter of fact they were the best I have tasted. I gave four stars because I think some of the prices are steep, however; when my food is that good, my waitress is attentive and the only wait I have is for my food to cook, I will pay that price with no complaint. We went into the establishment for the first time and they didn't have the table we wanted even though we had reservations. So we had to sit at a table in the middle off the floor, There wasn't even space where we was seated so felt smushed among each like sardines. Have not been to an outback before pleasantly surprised. Nice bar and football to boot. Sat at the bar. Ordered an appetizer steak nacho cheese. Some of the nachos we're stuck together and still raw and over salted. Thought at over 10 bucks it was pricey. Ordered the bone in ribeye wife had the grilled chicken Caesar salad. Order came in a timely fashion but was missing Mac and cheese "be right back with that ' 1/3 into my steak had to ask the bartender for it. It came looked like they scrapped it off the plate once and then just plopped it back on. The wife's Caesar sale had way too much dressing. Enough for 2 salads. Overall food was good steak was cooked correctly. Was not offered any bread that we Saw going to other tables either. What got me was the lack of service. The bartender, kitchen staff, someone who appeared to be a kitchen manager and a floor manager were all more interested in the football game on tv then serving their customers properly. Kitchen staff in the dining room watching tv? A bartender who we saw more of the back of her head because it was in the tv more then in her customers? I spent 15 years in the restaurant business in all phases and was appalled by the lack of professionalism at this place. And to top it all off both my wife and I have been having stomach issues all night and all the next day. My only guess is it was her salad we shared and maybe the romaine lettuce or dressing. I have never been a fan of chain restaurants bc no one really cares and usually the food is just bad bc there is no pride in what they put on a plate. Good luck. I went to the Outback restaurant in Dover, DE on Mother's day and had dinner with my family. It was very crowded and they offered samples while we waited for our table. My waitress and service was great but I had an issue with a menu item and decided to reach out to Outback directly. I received an email from Steve Adams, proprietor for the restaurant, who contacted me directly and helped explain what happened. Ive eaten here several times now and have mixed feelings. I'll start with the positives. The wait staff is well trained, helpful and very friendly. A person in my party had several special requests and each time they accommodated her without blinking! If you love iceberg lettuce I seriously recommend the wedge. It is fantastic and a meal in itself. The more expensive steaks are done to order so that is good. The negatives I believe they are over priced. Their cheaper cuts of steak are encrusted with seasonings, tough and believe it or not...flavorless. These cuts are usually over cooked for me. I like a true medium rare and these usually come out with no pink at all. . Back to a positive, I have gotten two fish meals there, the fried shrimp and tilapia and those were delicious. So unless you want to pay $25-30 for your steak, order something else. read more
