It's been a day or two since my last visit. But, as I'm passing through Dover on my way to VA I just had to stop in for dinner. The restaurant decor has not changes at all. Still very nautical in theme. The waitresses was prompt and friendly and the back end service was timely. Now for the important/critical point....the food. 1. Their wings are still as crunchy and tasty as I remember them being. 2. The crab and shrimp were spot on. Perfectly cooked and seasoned.....worth every dime. Total Friends and Family recommendation.... read more

First time here. I ordered fried catfish and sweet potato fries. Fried catfish was OK. Sweet potato fries were soggy and inedible. I didn't expect much going in. Even though I had low expectations...... I was still disappointed as I ate my takeout meal. I did eat the catfish (I was hungry) but couldn't eat the fries. Being a new resident to this area - I don't think I'll be returning. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience at Tasty Crab Dover tonight. I'm a regular customer who comes here at least once a month with my family, and after tonight, I genuinely don't know why I would continue giving this place my money\. Our server, Geoferry, was unbelievably disrespectful. He repeatedly slammed things on our table, ignored requests we made multiple times, and acted like serving us was an inconvenience. When we asked to speak with a manager, he told us there was no one available and that *he* could help us. Excuse me??? We eventually had another employee assist us, and she was just as rude. At that point, it was obvious that nobody was interested in providing basic customer service or resolving the situation. We were not asking for anything special. We simply expected to be treated with respect, especially considering how much money my family and I have spent here over the years. I will absolutely be reconsidering ever coming back. Management seriously needs to address the behavior and attitude of the employees at this location because this was beyond unacceptable. **Transaction: 0115 \| September 6, 2026 \| 8:02 PM** I expect management to actually address this situation not send me some generic "we're sorry you had a bad experience" response. After being treated like this as a loyal customer, I also expect some form of compensation. read more

Excellent service and staff. I ordered oysters and stone crab wi the r bread pudding to go. Outstanding playlist! read more

Do NOT get the fried calamari. The calamari was stringy and overcooked, threw up after 2 bites.

To look at the place from the outside - you're thinking "uhh - no thank you." But, give it a shot. No frills. Paper plates. Plastic ware. Shrimp comes out in a plastic bag. Ya get a bib and some plastic gloves and - ya NEED 'EM!! Gotta say - it wasn't bad at all. Shrimp was fantastic! Broccoli was great! Beer was cold! I'd go there again! read more

I've been hesitant to try this as I'm not a fan of Cajun seasoning but they also have Old Bay seasoning they can use if you ask for it! That was a game changer for me. I like the individual ordering on menu paper with a pencil (you can write in Old Bay) and you select the level of spicy. I really appreciated the attentive waiter that reviewed our choices to make sure we got what we expected. I got the shrimp boil with Old Bay medium spice and it was just right for my taste! The shrimp were cooked perfectly, the corn was tough but the potato was really good. The side order of hush puppies were delicious and the ice tea was good too! I will be back! read more

Tasty Crab House - Dover - Hush puppies - delicious!!! - Seafood Near Me - Dover, Delaware

You get plenty of food, for the price. They have the largest wings that I've seen, in a long time.

It was amazing! My family ordered 2 bags and it was perfect!! The service was amazing on time and very kind. The ambiance was friendly and understanding. 100% would recommend! read more

Just went to sit down for lunch with my daughter, I brought her food because she doesn't like seafood. I was seated, and immediately after I was told they wouldn't serve me because I brought in outside food and made me leave. I was prepared to order her a drink at minimum, along with my food which typically tabs 40+ dollars by myself plus tip. They didn't care, only thing they cared about was embarrassing themselves as a business. I will never return after the way I was just treated. Mind you again they let me in the seating area and sat us with the bag in hand from the door. Only to announce it publicly in-front of a full restaurant. read more

The food and service is always great! The ambience is nice as well they play great music. Sometimes I wish they had karaoke.

We've driven past this place several times but finally stopped to try it out. When we walked in we were really surprised with how nice it looked inside. You wouldn't expect it by looking from the outside. We decided to try separate things so my husband got the soft shell basket and I made my own combo of baby clams and shrimp with heads off. My husbands basket came with two soft shell crabs and sweet potato fries for $9.00. He said the sweet potatoes we're well seasoned and his crabs tasted very fresh. I got the steamer bag with clams and shrimp and it was fantastic. For my seasoning I got the Tasty House Blend which was a mixture of all the options and it was so good. It was buttery and garlicky and had a nice little kick. I got the medium heat and it was perfect. The steamer bag came with one steam potato and one ear of corn in addition to abundant supply of shrimp. The clams were nice and tender but the shrimp were a little overcooked. However, the sauce was so good it more than made up for it. $17.00. We also got an order of hush puppies for $5. One order came with 10 hush puppies and they were good but could have used a little splash of sugar 2 round out the flavor. Overall a great lunch for around $30. read more

Hands down, the best cajun boil I've ever had. I don't even know how much I paid, I don't care - I went back three times while I was in Dover. Service was quick, even though they were slammed. The wait was not too bad. Our waiter was super nice. The sauce and how the seafood is cooked is perfect. I wish they had a location in Rhode Island or Massachusetts. I'd go all the time. read more

Waiter was very helpful , crab was pretty good and the portions good. Definitely worth stopping by

Crab was phenomenal! Service was quick and it was a fun (yet messy) way to eat and catch up with friends. But when is eating crab not messy? read more

I ordered take out and was a little worried about the seafood being over-cooked since it comes in a plastic bag. But, they obviously know what they are doing. It was DELICIOUS! I ordered the head-on shrimp (highly recommended if you have never tried it), snow crab legs, and clams with medium Cajun spice. Everything was moist, juicy, and the taste was fantastic. I can't wait to try some of the other offerings, like crawfish or scallops or mussels. I will definitely be back! read more

Got the soft shelled crab basket. The flavor was decent but kinda small. The service was quick for a togo order. My order was togo but the inside was clean and the tables were well spaced. read more

Extremely good customer service they were fast on making the food Love this place will be coming back

Don't waste your time at Crab de Jour. This place is much better. The taste and size of the Snow Crabs were great. 2 large Clusters, corn on the cob and 2 red potatoes for $30. Service was fast and friendly. When I return to Dover, I stop here. Highly recommended. read more

I was told the establishment always had cars lined up to get in two weeks before the pandemic quarantine. Now, they have a drive-up window that was busy once we arrived. We ordered the King Crab legs (two huge legs) with Cajun Fried Rice. The crab legs were delicious and the fried rice (with sausage) was quite spicy. I will warn you that crab is at market price (my guess) as I paid $36 for the two. In any case, we are one and done. I ordered a chicken tenders meal for Mom that came with fries. She enjoyed a tender and the fries and saved the rest for later. This menu item was $8 and you get four huge tenders. Service was great and the food was well proportioned. read more

Tasty Crab House - Dover - Shrimp (w/no head), Crab Legs, Sausage, Potatoes & Corn= 100% Deliciousness - Seafood Near Me - Dover, Delaware

Friendly waitstaff. Fantastic flavors. Too much plastic. We got in the night before the grand opening. Portions could be much larger (see fried catfish) and the seafood bags only have one potato and one piece of corn. The flavorings are so bold and delicious (sodium bomb), having those extra two or three potatoes to dip in would have been the difference between leaving full and leaving hungry. The catfish/ fried shrimp portions are good for a kid or small adult. Larger adults will be left wanting. You would think management would come around asking how everything was and what could be improved...sadly for both them and us, they did not. You need to not mind that your food is cooked in a plastic bag (chemicals cook into the food), then double bagged in a second plastic bag (ironic that a seafood restaurant that relies on healthy oceans would generate so much plastic use). read more

I was in Dover Delaware for business and I decided to stop by Tasty Crab. We was greeted by a very friendly lady by the name Jennifer. The place was definitely different in the inside than I imagine. Very modern and clean. I ordered a seafood bag with the combined sauces. Unfortunately, the food was a little to watery and salty for my liking. I will say the waitress Jennifer was very accommodating to try to help but it wasn't much she could do to change the outcome of my meal. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing I don't know but I will pass on ordering a seafood bag from this location. Again they had an extensive menu I would suggest you try something else or try it for yourself. read more

My wife is a big seafood fan, so we decided to try this place out. Ambiance: Well lit, not too bright. Clean looking. Staff was friendly, but at times were very slow, especially when we waiting for check. We has 2 orders of wings, the Cajun and the buffalo. We did not try the lemon pepper ones. The buffalo wings were good, the Cajun were dry and severely lacking in flavor. For entree, I had soft shell crab, and she has a combo of king crab and shrimp (no heads). It was my first time having crab, so I guess it was okay. She thought hers was good, with a nice sauce . The corn comes soaking in a spicy sauce. Prices are medium-high. We will come again at some point, but do not recommend the Cajun wings at all. Also hope service is a bit better. read more

This place is so deceiving from the outside. Outside looks small, old and dingy and I probably would never have come in based off that but inside is new, bright and very nice with a beach vibe. Staff is friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. My family loves this type of food so I'm sure we'll be back. read more

Food is fresh and seasoned well. Lots of options to choose from. Good and timely service.

We live about an hour and 30 minutes away in Maryland as this place was recommended to me in the barbershop this morning so we tried for our family of 5 for dinner tonight. This place is good, the food, the flavor, the nicely decorated welcoming atmosphere, the friendly nice staff. We will definitely be going back and we still had food left to carry out its alot and worth the price. read more

Since my first review, we have probably been here 10 times. It's always reliable, food is always excellent, service is always great. It's become our go-to spot when we want great food and don't want to take a chance on a new place. We have tried another similar seafood restaurant right up the road from here and it was trash. Tasty Crab House always hits the spot! Prices are very reasonable, ambiance is nice and as a bonus, they turned the music down! Lol Give this place a chance if you're in the area...it wont disappoint! read more

As a delaware native who loves a good crab boil, this spot is a must try! I've been here quite a few times and the service is always at least good if not great. The restaurant itself is always clean and just generally feels like somewhere you'd want to sit down and eat some good seafood! read more

Horrible experience. The manager was AWFUL and the crab was overcooked. We paid over $150 for crab that we couldn't even pull out of the shell. We tried telling the manager and all she said was that it came out of the "same batch" as other crab that was "fine".......don't waste your time or money. read more

Finger lickin' gooooood!!!! If you've ever been to boiling crab in california, it is the same concept. I had 1/2 lb snow crab legs and 1/2 lb shrimp with heads on with one potato and one corn covered in the extra spicy tasty special sauce. I would say the extra spicy is more on a regular spicy level. I literally devoured this whole meal in one sitting. My boyfriend was so surprised because I never finish my food when I eat out. If you love seafood, flavor explosions, and getting your hands dirty then you'll definitely enjoy eating here. Such a nice edition to the Dover area :) read more
