Boondocks is something else! It's located in the boondocks. I had the steamed crabs , which I hadn't had for years. They are messy, hard to eat and delicious. I made quite a spectacle smashing them in pieces! My wife had a rather weird but good crab cake nestled in a crab bisque with a soft pretzel on top. Strange but it worked. Service is friendly and attentive. It's an experience! Went for a weekend lunch and the place was quite busy.

Ok so this was a day I decided to go here. I haven't been here since I was 12 years old and I wouldn't live here with my family

Today is March 21 and we are local with this place. We saw this order but it didn't have no price on it. That was disappointing. We had ordered two of these and we ordered my kids food got drinks. My mom got a swamp water. It was too iced down. It wasn't the same like usual it really sucked. It did not taste like alcohol. It tasted like straight water and ice down. There was no buzz nothing that was $15 which that had a price on it but this I'm showing you right here is crazy so they bring us the food and didn't tell us anything so we respected it to be a little bit cheap. OK I can manage 150 OK so we asked how much is this? She says $100 each. I felt like if we didn't ask felt like you were set up for failure so my bill came up to $250. Make sure you guys don't fall for this trick. It's really messed up how everything else has a price but this is $100 a plate people I don't put me wrong. The crabs were really good very good. I get that at 20. The corn was very great. I felt like the shirt could've needed a little bit more seasoning, but it was good. I cannot complain about anything else, but these prices are ridiculous after we got done paying the bill. I got my receipt told her I was gonna tip her some money well my funds was getting tight so I gave her a four dollar tip. She gives me that ugly look now I get it. It's four dollars at least be grateful that you got something from me cause $250 is a lot of money, your mother or two kids paying for bills and taking care of other things it's hard for other people and I really was happy that I had extra money on my card but still please do not fall for this. Make sure you ask before you order this meal because their customer service so they could've told us and wanted us before we ordered it but the good thing is we get to take the crabs home and our drinks and the cat tail so please watch out

Gotta get the swamp water

Been coming to boondocks for a long time. Since new owner ambiance is much better and better variety of food. Place looks great.

The Pigout

I am a huge fan of this place. The soup is incredibly tasty and the crabs are simply amazing. The freshness and seasoning of the crabs were exceptional. I would have given it 5 stars however, I was slightly disappointed when my husband ordered the fried seafood platter and discovered that the seafood was frozen from a box and not fresh. I recommend adding at least fresh fried shrimp to the menu to enhance the overall dining experience. Despite this small setback, I still highly recommend this seafood restaurant.

Stopped by Boondocks on the way back home. It is off the beaten path-Fo Sho! It is a cute roadside establishment that looks like it is straight outta 1980! We decided to get down to business-Ordered Crabs w/Old Bay & it was recommended by our server to get the appetizer 'Hodge Podge'! The Hodge Podge was deep fried 'everything'-Pickles; Vegetables; Hush Puppies (maybe)? Lol Pros: The crabs were a large size-cooked well Cons: Beer selection is very limited Alright place-wouldn't make a special trip to visit

When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised - it looks like a well kept Eastern Shore Seafood House. My husband arrived before me and was supposed to order the apps so they would be ready by the time I arrived, but he sat at the table for 10 minutes without anyone taking his oder (hence the reduction in stars). We order the calamari, it was clearly prepped in house, very nicely done and the shrimp dumplings...they were very good. I had the stuffed rockfish because it's one of my faves at Harpoon Hanna's; this was done differently but still enjoyable. The zucchini and corn succotash is an odd combo to me but clearly a local staple...it was fresh and delicious and the mashed potatoes were also nicely done. I would definitely return to this hidden gem.

The offer a wonderful menus mixed with a stong selection of seafood and classic beef/pork/chicken. We visited tonight, Friday, and a special is the bone in prime rib ($55).. the cut of prime rib had to weigh in at close to 36oz... it was huge! We hade the crab cakes and sward fish... the swatted fish was a very large portion and perfectly cooked! We lucked out and sat at the end of the bar that has a direct view of the three cooks preparing each meal... it was so enjoyable to watch! You have to give this place a try if in Dover!

After we were seated I was greeted with a birthday card and a hand painted oyster shell Christmas ornament. The weather was bad so the deck was closed. Our waitress was excellent, gave us the specials, and had our drinks out in minutes. Cream of Crab Soup and Steamed claim in garlic butter are must haves. The Cream of Crab is some of the best on the Easy Coast. My wife ordered the Salmon BLT wrap. I had the Salt Life. Scallops, shrimp, lump crab and cod in an amazing Old Bay Alfredo sauce. This was the first time eating inside. We still had a beautiful view down the Susquehanna River. Another perfect afternoon and meal at Water Street Seafood. Probably my favorite things were the crab hush puppies, and the fresh fish, served with pineapple. The entrees came with two sides. Therefore, I tried four sides. The French fries and potato salad were really good. The fresh vegetables had onions in it. I am not a big onion fan. The coleslaw was good. Next time, I will order the fish, with just one side- the potato salad was very large. For an appetizer, I will get the clams again, and the crab hush puppies. Yelp was so helpful guiding me to the hush puppies. The chef prepared our food outstandingly. Coral was are very friendly server. A nice meal with an outstanding server and a view of the water made for an excellent day. The host and the people helping out to clear the table were very nice, also. The vibe at the restaurant was a tropical beach feeling. People were dressed casually, mostly in t-shirts.

You can tell this place has a lot of history behind it, and I love the location too. It's such a vibe to sit here with a lobster roll. They did send out a dessert, on the house, since we did have to wait past our reservation time which was a nice gesture. Overall, I cannot see myself returning, especially since there are so many other options for seafood in the area.

It's hard sometimes being the non-crab person at an AYCE crab feast. At some places, the menu…read moreincludes only fried apps or fried or highly sauced entrees. But I was able to find an entree here that was delicious, filling and fairly (depending on your choice of sides) healthful. First, the crabs. The place is crowded. We waited about 30 minutes outside (alternative is the inside bar) and got a table. We ordered our meals and within three minutes, my partner had a tray of 6 nice-size blue crabs in front of them. The sides (the AYCE comes with fries, hush puppies and cole slaw) came a few minutes later. My entree - grilled chicken breast with 2 sides - came a few minutes later. Two large moist breasts, fries, veggies (veggies add $2) and I ordered a third side - cole slaw for extra $2.95. If you are a non AYCE crab person like me, you understand the need to pace yourself during your meal - hence, the extra side. : ) I really enjoyed my meal and my partner the crabs. The service was exceptional - both water glasses and refilling those crab orders. My partner didn't have to ask for crab refills. Before they were done with one order, the server was ready with more to add to the platter. The server was very pleasant and seemed to know most of the customers in the place. There's an enthusiasm and positive vibe here that is really great. An excellent meal and overall good experience. And that's speaking as a non-crab person!

I prefer bar sitting so I was very happy about it As soon as we sat down our server, Kyle, almost immediately came over and attended to us. He was great offered appropriate suggestions and gave helpful hints. One thing we learned was that it's better to reserve/order your crab beforehand. Especially during summer peak season. Since we didn't know (and therefore didn't order in advance, we had to settle the select size (12 ) of crab. Select is the smallest size, then medium, large and extra large. Next time we go there we'll order ahead. The 12 crab was MORE than enough for two people. We had deviled eggs and a half poumd of shrimp for appetizers. We had 4 beers, 2 cocktails and a dozen select size (small) crab. The bill was under 200 before tip. All in all I would recommend Surfing Crab. It's super crowded during the tourist season so be ready for a wait depending on the time you get there. Once you're in, you'll totally enjoy yourself. Very laid back and chill. You might even see the owners working with everyone else..
