I have been going to Eastern Shore for the last 3 years. Every time I come to Smyrna to visit I purchase Blue Crabs from this place. I have never had a problem until today. Note: I purchased $100 worth of crabs yesterday. Today I ordered a dozen of large male (only because they were out of jumbo) for $65 a dozen. As I was walking to my car I kept saying wow these crabs are light...must not have much meat. When I got to my car I looked in the bag and I realized that I only had 9 crabs in my bag. I counted the crabs twice to make sure before I walked back in. Within 60 secs I walked in to the store and informed the young lady that I was missing crabs. She was really nice and very apologetic . I had to wait another 5 mins or so but she came back with my order and informed me that they gave me a couple extra crabs (14 crabs). Situation was over and I was pleased. Approximately 6-7 mins after driving off I received a call from Frank who states the following: 1. He looked at a video camera and noticed I was fumbling in my bag and he seen me on the camera removing crabs from the bag. 2. His employee told him that he walked passed my car and I had 3 crabs on my floor in the car. I was soooooooo upset but I kept my cool on the phone because I clearly could have cussed him out. I spend hundreds at this place regularly and to be accused of something like this was very hurtful. As a business owner and damn near a senior I can't believe that someone would treat their customers like this. First of all, he is suppose to be the owner and he had the nerve to call me and LIE and falsely accuse me of stealing. Yes, that's what that is called. This is really disappointing. Then for and employee to say that I put crabs on the floor was worse. I would never eat anything off the floor of a car. Especially in a rental. SMH Unfortunately, times don't change. You would think in this day in age people would not see color. I'm still sitting here in shock. After I calmed down, I really wanted to call back and give him a piece of my mind but I decided he wasn't worth it. You can't change people like that. They can only change themselves. I guess I will be trying the place down the street (I heard they were better anyway) I just figured I would stick with this place even though I have been given bad crabs more than once. I was a loyal customer but they don't respect their customer's and o will spend my money somewhere else. read more

Best steamed seafood, especially crabs, in the area. Their seasoning is terrific and their prices reasonable

I Purchased a half bushel of, what was supposed to be, steamed #1 crabs for $245.00 on Sunday, May 26, 2024. The entire half bushel of crabs were at best #2s. The crabs were tasteless and not even worth picking and an embarrassment to spread out on a table. A customer should be able to trust that a seafood purveyor will, at all cost, provide customers with the freshest catch and give them what they paid for. Every customer deserves Honesty and integrity when purchasing seafood. Think about, if an owner or his/her employees knowingly gives a customer less than they paid for, what's next? 45 years of buying crabs and fish for my family to enjoy; this is the first time I've ever been blatantly ripped off. I'll consider the $245.00 the price of the lesson I learned (drive past Eastern Shore Seafood). The one star is given for the cleanliness of the lobby. read more

I purchased a dozen #2 males a few weeks ago (around mid-August) and I can't stop thinking about how good they were. I've had crabs from different places before and after and I will say that the crabs from Eastern Shore Seafood were the best crabs of the summer. They were heavy, perfectly seasoned and not a bad crab in the bunch. I ate half when I got home & refrigerated the rest for the next day. Even cold they were delicious. Placing your order is very easy and convenient. Here's what you do: call and listen to the recording for the crab prices, then select the option to place an order. Arrive at the designated time and you'll be in & out in no time. The employees are very personable and sweet too. I called Eastern Shore Seafood and ordered a Shrimp and Scallop Platter. As stated on their menu, the platter consisted of 6 shrimp, 6 scallops and 1 ear of corn for $16.00. When I arrived to pick it up, I was informed the price was $22.00. I mentioned that I wanted the one for $16.00 and was told there was no platter for $16.00. She showed me a menu that stated $22.00. When I mentioned the internet price, she informed me that was wrong. When I showed her the add on their website from my phone, she told me customer must have put it there! How can a customer post something that is printed on a menu on THEIR website. She then informed me that they are not Eastern Shore Seafood but rather something else. When I asked why the signs say Eastern Shore, she had no response. I checked the menu today, about 3 months after this incident, and there is still a Shrimp and Scallop platter for $16.00 on the menu. I wonder if they charge everyone $22.00 or I was just the lucky one for that day!!! Oh also, I forgot to mention that my order was scheduled for a 5:00 pm pick-up and was not ready and could not be found. After searching, it was found. Someone put it in the slot for 6:00 pm pick-up. I go there at least twice a month. The female crabs at the beginning of the season are always full. Now, end of June and July, I get the male #2's mediums. They are always full. I never have had a bad crab yet. I have been going there for over 2 years and never disappointed. The always are running specials every week which are affordable. There seasoning is great. I would recommend trying them out. The staff is always friendly. read more

Always have local crabs in season...Delaware Bay crabs and Chester River Crabs. Good sizes, great prices!! It's a staple on our deck every summer. Nice selection of fresh fish and softball crabs. This is take out only!! read more
