We decided to go to Outback today for dinner. The service is always great. The servers and front desk folks are genuinely friendly and helpful. However, the food was disappointing. We are long time Outback customers. My husband and daughter ordered steaks. He ordered it Medium. When cut it was brown. There wasn't even a hint of pink. She ordered medium rare. It was barely pink. I ordered salmon. It was raw inside. I do not eat raw fish. I asked for it to be cooked more. The server said of course. However, they brought me a new salmon portion and it was still undercooked. We used the Pickup service for the first time. Loved it. Very quick, very efficient. Pulled up to the Pickup Site on the side of the building... notified them of the spot number... very shortly, the order was brought out to my car, and I appreciated the hand-delivered service, as I am disabled. It is challenging to get out of my car and into a restaurant to pick up my order. This was marvelous, and I will continue to use this service, as well as the Delivery service they offer. On a personal note, it is best for me to increase my steak order to the next level up. I prefer Medium rare, but I have found that Medium is perfect and that Medium Rare is too rare for me--just my experience. Also, as a note, they have added a "rub" to their steaks, and I choose not to like it, but they make it simple to request "No Rub," which lets me continue eating their excellent steaks. read more

We went to Outback in Dover Delaware today. The server was friendly. However, the overall experience was the worst I have ever experienced. I am a retired government official who travelled the country for 0ver 21 years. I was on the road more than 25% of the time. I have eaten in restaurants in just about every state in the union. I have never had such a horrible experience. We ordered appetizers and the meal at the same time. The salads were delivered at the same time as the appetizers...with no silverware to eat the salads. It took some time to get some attention to get silverware. When the meals were delivered, it was unbelievable. Two meals were placed at the wrong persons seat. My grandson and I ordered the filet mignon with lobster tail. My grandson got the filet mignon with lobster tail. I got a piece of meat half the size of his and no lobster tail. We went here for lunch on Valentines Day. We were seated right away and our waiter checked on us a soon as we were settled. My husband ordered the Steak salad and French Onion soup. I ordered the side salad and French Onion soup. Our food arrived quickly, and our waiter made sure our drinks and bread were full in the meantime. Everything was wonderful. My father really enjoys Outback, so him choosing it as his birthday lunch is no surprise. I ordered online and was provided an estimated wait time and they were right on point. My boyfriend and I recently moved and got a gift certificate in the mail from Outback Steakhouse for $20. I've never been to Outback before so we decided to go try it purely based on the certificate. Friday night at 6pm and the place is packed. We got on the waitlist and waited about 10 minutes. Our server was great and brought everything out in good time. We both got sirloin steaks which were delicious. It was noisy but expected with how busy the place is. My steak ended up being a little over cooked and the manager brought out a new one in less then 10 minutes and checked up on us not too long after. Everything was delicious and big portions. I went to Outback today because I'm pregnant and I wanted a baked potato SO BAD, so I ordered from them and wish I hadn't! I got a text that my food was almost ready and showed up less than ten minutes later and checked in like all the signs outside and the text said. I stayed in my car just like the signs outside say but had to check in twice and finally CALL before they brought my order out. I waited at least 15 minutes in that spot without anyone coming out and saying a word to me. The boy who brought my food just said "sorry about that" but I didn't say anything to him, so "sorry" about what exactly? It's like he knew I was sitting there or knew my order was on the shelf a while which I'm pretty sure it was. I went home annoyed and it got worse. I opened my salad and hand picked the slimy lettuce out so I could enjoy my salad. I can understand the large yellow bits nobody likes but expired and wilted lettuce is a hard pass! Then I ate my coconut shrimp which was luke warm at best. So yes, my order had been sitting because it's not like I live far. Whatever, I came for a baked potato anyway, right? Right. So I opened my potato, cut it, take out the toppings, and almost throw it all across the room because I never asked for bacon. I don't eat pork. Take a look at my order. Allllll the chives and cheese I asked for were SWIMMING in bacon. Cheese, whatever, I have that in my fridge, but NOT CHIVES! This sucked because the chives always set the potato off right for me! I used to work at an Outback (one with standards) so I knew they packed them liked that and just hoped they utilized reading comprehension and got it right but I guess not. I went to Outback steakhouse last night with my guy and order a mixed drink that came in a martini glass before our food came, and my guy ordered a beer. After finishing my small drink I ordered a shot of tequila and was denied that. The manager then comes over extremely close to my face and ask me if I'm the driver. After only having a freaking mixed drink. I'm clearly with my guy who steps in and says " im the driver" I ask what is the problem with ordering a shot and proceeded to ask him does he ask everyone that or just me. We are a black couple going out to eat and im questioned after one drink. To ask me all of those questions was seeing like I was being targeted for no reason. I have never in my 41yrs of living had anyone ask me those questions without cause. Horrible service and I feel like I was targeted because of how we looked. read more

It's clear that the restaurant scene in Dover is lame, so the addition of any new restaurant is welcomed, even if it is a chain. Since it is a new restaurant, many of the servers are not well informed as to what their menu has to offer or details of many of the dishes. Service is friendly but a little aloof. The ambiance is nice and warm. They even have a lovely outdoor sitting area to wait until your table is ready. Food is good. The grilled salmon was seasoned and grilled perfectly.
