I ran out for lunch around 12:30 and decided to go to Outback Steakhouse. Prior to going there though, I went online to look at their nutritional guide which was available at www.outback.com. If you're on any particular diet, you may want to check out their guide as you'll find useful nutritional information such as calories, carbs, sugars, and much more. When I arrived at the restaurant, there didn't seem to be a dedicated host so I stood there for a while (maybe a couple of minutes) before a waitress finally noticed me and came over to seat me. One thing I noticed as I was waiting was that you can check-in at outback.com/seating which can reduce your wait time. I was seated in a booth, which seems to be pretty tight (meaning the tables were very close to the seats, without too much wiggle room). Our waitress came over to take our drink order, and gave us a moment to look at the menu. I ordered the sirloin, and my chosen sides were green beans and house salad. My friend ordered the steak tacos. My sirloin was perfectly seasoned and very flavorful. However, my green beans were overcooked and soggy, and my salad was normal (as expected). While I enjoyed my lunch and would come back again, the service is pretty slow. So if you're on a time crunch, keep that in mind. Overall, I'd give my experience a 3.5 for the food, but 2.0 for speed and efficiency but a 5.0 for their website and their nutritional guide. read more

The food use to be good . I'm not sure what happened, but I stopped in with a longtime buddy of mine . He never has money on him to pay for food and today was the same scenario . He ordered a prime rib sandwich which contained a long piece of brown hair . He didn't find it until he took a second to last bite . I can almost guarantee it was a females . Hope it wasn't a down there / down under hair ... yuck . The outback burger is not edible . Ribeye comes with more fat than a pigs pen . You can have a better steak grabbing one from federal meats and searing that bastard on your grill read more

Just horrible ! One diner ordered a strip steak , med/well...it came out rare very fatty too....waitress took it back . A new steak was delivered by the manager ....it was less than rare , it was BLUE !!!! Manager had no explanation and took it off the bill ...but that is not all , one diner ordered a steak salad , and our 3rd diner ordered a steak ceasar...the lettuce was very wilted and had an odd flavor , again manager had no explanation. We will NEVER be back ...99% of the time we avoid big franchise places ...back to buying local. read more

Went to this chain restaurant because I had a $5 off coupon, and sadly I was a bit disappointed. We had a fairly simple order, a chicken quesadilla and a chicken and shrimp Alfredo. The food took approximately 35 minutes to get to the table, apparently the kitchen was backed up even on a late Sunday evening when the dining room wasn't even close to being full. Our server came over to check on us several times, and did end up comping us a piece of cheesecake to go..... but management neglected to come over to talk to us even though it was apparent things were taking too long! Food was of average to good quality but I think I'll save my dining out funds for a different establishment next time. read more

Went with my husband Saturday night. Short wait time. Ordered an blooming onion. Or was it a onion blossom. Which ever one it was the waitress rudely reminded me to read it off the menu. We both ordered the burger and with salad instead of fries. Nothing great. Waitress was scolding the bus boy on how to place the salt and pepper back on the table. We had eye contact and I felt horrible for this young man. Seriously does it matter. Plus to scold in front of customers. Made it an unpleasant experience. I'm not one to go out of my way to chains, but Outback is one of my few exceptions. The McKinley Mall location has provided good service each time I have been there over the years. Besides the tried and true favorite of the blooming onion, I usually get the 6 oz. Victoria's filet mignon. The salads are pretty decent too. I like the amount of cherry tomatoes they give you. This is a good stop if you are in the area shopping at the McKinley Mall and want to grab a bite to eat. read more

My boyfriend and I visited this location last night. We were seated right away with no wait. It was our first time here and I didn't know what to expect, but because it's a chain I assumed it would be like an Applebee's. I was so wrong, and that's a good thing! First of all, the place was very clean and updated, looked to be remodeled. Our waitress, Emma, was friendly and made suggestions on cocktails since we were looking through the drink menu. My boyfriend and I both chose a double shot margarita for $6. It was delicious, but I'm not sure that extra shot was in there. Still good though. We both decided on sirloin and grilled shrimp. Our waitress informed us that the steak is heavily seasoned in case we wanted light seasoning, which I appreciate! But I do like a lot of seasoning, so it was okay with me. We chose baked potatoes with all the toppings (bacon, cheddar, sour cream, chives and butter) and salads for our sides. The salads came out first, like an appetizer. I really liked that the lettuce was chopped into bite sized pieces. I'm not super picky about that, but it was a nice touch. We were also served a pumpernickel type bread and butter, also yummy. I love places that serve free bread! Lol it's a big plus for me. Our entrees didn't take long. Everything was served hot and fresh. My boyfriend's steak was cooked perfectly. Mine was a little overcooked but is till can't complain, there was not one bit of fat on it and it was the best steak I've had in a long time. The baked potato was also good, well seasoned with salt on the outside. Our dinners and 3 drinks came to $60, so, a little pricy but most steakhouses are. my neice and I went to the one located at McKinley mall. it was so filthy it made me sick. that's not the worse part. used the ladies room and there was a dead cockroach on the floor. bathrooms were disgusting. the food was good but did not have an appetite after seeing that. will never go to any Outback again. Been to this outback about 3 times already. Always for special occasions or just wanting to eat out thats not fast food and something nicer. The past two times we had Kristen as our server. She is wonderful! She also remembered us the last time we were there which was awesome. We made reservations online which was a first for me for an Outback. We made reservations on the way there. We get there about 10 minutes early and our reservations was at 830. We didn't get seated until 15 minutes after, not a big deal. While we were waiting, we were able to look at the menu and know exactly what we wanted. When we finally sat and Kristen was our server, very wonderful. We already told her we know exactly what we want. We place our order but she doesn't think she could do the prime rib order that i originally wanted but they did have a smaller one which they could do. Good thing I went with the smaller size because after our bloomin onion and my main meal, i was so full! Everything was great as the past couple times I have been here and our server Kristen was wonderful. I will ask for her every time when I dine there. This is an all-time favorite for family, which we love to go to on special occasions to celebrate.

Outback is a safe bet for a decent piece of meat and a nice atmosphere. There is almost always a 10-15min wait at this location regardless if you call ahead or not. Nice comfy outdoor seating available when the weather isnt freezing. I tried the blooming onion and it was saturated with grease and soggy. The new Volcano Shrimp was super buttery and actually upset my stomach on another occasion. Play it safe here folks. Not somewhere you wanna expiriment, however thier new Mac and Cheese was REALLY good. Friendly staff and a very nice bar since this location had a slight revamp. I have come to learn that even when you place and order ahead of time for Drive-up Pick-up there is a hefty wait, which stinks but what do you expect from a commercial chain? I recommend you search a bit further and travel and extra mile or two to experience a non chain restaurant. Dont be afraid to try new things, afterall if you're here reading a review of Outback on Yelp, chances are you should scroll around or expand your search criteria to find a better experience. Support your local restaurants and dont necessarily fall into the comfort of name brand eating. Why go to Burger King for a burger when you can get something fresh, local and not shipped or pre cooked from a frozen cooler across the planet. read more

If you are going to update your hours for the season , a small sign on the ground will not do it. Melissa B. was extremely unprofessional and rude, very poor customer experience. She was clearly upset she had to serve customers during the last hour being open. She rushed us to order , barely made eye contact while speaking to us , quickly shut us down when a menu item was not available and judged our orders when we asked to modify. She took down the open sign 20 minutes prior to 7pm , turned the TV & menus off as well as the music to make us uncomfortable so we would hurry up and leave. I will never be going back. She ruined this restaurant for myself and my friends. I would also suggest changing the concept of being served to ordering at the counter. We know it's just a way for workers to receive a tip. Luckily I am not a terrible person and left her a tip although she clearly did not deserve one. 100/10 do not recommend this place! read more

My mother chose this place for Mother's Day today and although I did not want to go, It was her day so her choice. I ordered Flos filet medium.. it was almost raw. Barely cooked at all. The server took it back, brought out the exact same steak well done. My family was almost done eating so no time to wait for them to try to correct it a third time. They do have great appetizers. The parmesan chicken is also pretty good. If your looking for a nice steak dinner though, this isn't the place. read more

We ate here last evening, as a group of three. There were at least twenty people waiting just inside the doors for tables. We were told it would be an hour wait and gave our name. OK so far. As we waited, more people came in and the hostess informed us, alone, that we could not stand and wait. We had to wait at the bar. No one else was visibly told this. At the bar, we were able to see eight unused tables. We asked the hostess about them and were told they were reserved. Two of them were never used, we noticed. Two people were seated at an elevated table for six, we noted. Finally seated, we ordered. Waiter was great. Apps were great. But there, things just fell apart. It took an additional 80 minutes for two sandwiches and a steak dinner to arrive. Waiter was aghast and gave us free drinks as well as one app. Food was quite good. We were seated right behind the hostess and watched her complain about people the entire time. All of the tables around us ate and left before we got our food. Just a mess. Not sure we will go back, but I wish I had gotten the waiter's name as he really gave us his best. Did they forget our order? Was it given to someone else? The place just seemed chaotic. read more

Out of all the chain restaurants you can go to Outback Steakhouse is one that always seems to have to together and execute with not just a sense of quality but with a sense of care. Our waitress was super helpful and informative on everything and made recommendations that were spot on! We started with some drinks and a appetizer that was epic in proportion. The bottom was a blooming onion, that was topped with cheese fries that was then topped with deep fried ribs! Yes I said that right deep fried and Wow were they amazing! Following that we got a order of France onion. Soup that was generously portioned with cheese the only downside is it could have used more onions! Followed up by a steak and shrimp combo. The steak was cook medium rare just how I asked and the shrimp were salty and savory. The best part about the whole experience was the fresh cut fries that have the best seasoning salt on top. In town from out of state visiting family and decided to stop by. Lena our server was an absolute pleasure. She was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu and was able to make some great suggestions. The Grilled Shrimp were spot on; absolutely delicious and something I would definitely have again. For my entree I had the Garlic Medallions, Chopped Pecan Salad, and broccoli. The medallions were cooked PERFECTLY.....rare! It was the first time I have had the salad and it was great; something I'll definitely have again. Brad came by to check on our table and was wonderful. It was so nice having him stop by and having him interact with his customers. It's having management and servers like this that encourage people like me to come back. Okay the first thing I noticed that I knew right away that I had to write this review was that I didn't have to cut up the salad for 20 minutes. The salad and fruits and vegetables inside the salad we're actually bite-sized which I love. Most of the restaurants where I eat salads have very large pieces of lettuce and or vegetables that I need to chop up into tiny pieces before they can fit into my mouth. When I ordered the house salad here however it was perfectly sized for me and I was able to eat it right away instead of being hungry and cutting it up. It was delicious however I would have liked the bowl to be a little taller perhaps. Some of the salad kept falling over the sides on to the table. But at least the salad was in a bowl. I don't like it when the salad is on a plate because then it's easier for pieces of it to fall onto the table. read more

Just got back from this location. They greeted us when we walked in, which was nice and expected. The waitress was friendly. However, when we got our food, we got 2 of the Victoria filets with lobster, one of them was clearly a sirloin and mine was the actual filet. The waitress came over to address our concerns and brought the manager over. The manager seemed very rude and assured us that is was a filet and not a sirloin. Previous knowledge from when I worked in a meat department and all my knowledge from being a steak lover says otherwise. The manager hovered over our table in a rude manner and said " well, try a bite I can tell you by looking at it that that is indeed a filet". Very unprofessional on her part and from this experience I doubt I'll be back at this location. The floors were really slippery as well. Well - life wouldn't be the same without them and when you want a steak and you want it cooked right and you don't want to look around - you go to a place that knows how to cook a steak and this time that place happened to be the Outback across the street from the mall. When I'm hungry I'm hungry. Let's get to the basics - cleanliness obviously was good or they wouldn't have received a 5 star and remember - any place can get a 5 star if it meets my criteria when I was there! There was a changing station in the restroom - I assume if there was one in the men's room there's one in the women's room as well, which means this is a family restaurant and they obviously want to give a place for the babies to be changed. There were a few new items on the menu, which is diversified enough to give most people something they are craving for. I was impressed though at how easily the waitress made it for my wife to "mix it up a bit" and ask for a custom dish. I know it wasn't much, but every little bit helps and to have them take the Alice Springs Chicken and put it on the Grilled Chicken Salad - well it made my wife very happy and it turned out to be a hit. TIP: just get the lunch size because the large size was enough for at least two wives and I'm only allowed one! I had the typical steak with coconut shrimp - which by the way as close to my own that any place has ever come! The Aussie fries were just a little tiny bit salty, but my unsweetened ice tea that I sweetened with Splenda (watching my blood sugar) was even tastier! And now if I jump back to the start - the warm pumpernickel bread was so good that I had to agree to have more brought to my table. A loud shout out to out waitress Vanessa - she was spot on tonight and had refills at the table before we even were ready to ask for more - terrific - love that! She was also quick with more bread and treated us like we were her only customers - even though the place was filling up fast! My husband and I went to the Outback for dinner a few weeks ago. Our major complaint was the ribs, which my husband ordered. He ordered a full rack and when they came out it was very small. We asked the waitress if it was a full rack, and she said, "Yes!" She then proceeded to count six bones. At most restaurants, a full rack is double that size. It was expensive, and we will not go back for the ribs. I had a chicken breast dinner, which was very good. If a man goes in for a man sized meal of ribs, you won't get it here. We eat out at least twice a week and probably won't be returning to this restaurant. There are too many other great restaurants in this area to go to. read more

I struck out this trip for steaks, From now on I think I'm just going to cook them at home. My first stop was Illinois, Jim's Steakhouse and was mediocre at best. I only mentioned them because I was so disappointed in that visit and was left craving a good steak. On the return trip I decided to hit an Outback as I have never had a bad steak at the Outback, but I only get to them a few times each year as they do not have one in my city. My server was good (Stephanie) which is the only reason I gave 3 stars instead of 2. My Steak was raw, I ordered med/rare, and I can eat a rare steak but this was raw. I could only eat the very outside edge and even that was too rare. I cook steak all the time so I know with a fillet is it's easy to get right in my opinion, and if a home cook can tell it is raw, a pro cook should be able to tell. You let it rest and if it is still raw you pop it back on for 30 seconds. But the steak was not the only thing that was just wrong, my tuna app was half a$$ed and that is my goto dish at the outback (Ahi-Tuna app) my wasabi was so unappetizing, looked like a lime green piece of clay rolled up and plopped on the plate, but wait it gets worse... the vegetables were bad as well, just blah. My 4 slices of tuna were good, perfectly cooked. It was the only thing I ate. I didn't say anything because I hate sending food back, I used to work as a waitress and I know how mad the cooks can get, I never would trust sending food back as I have heard to many horror stories about what they do to it. My waitress was nice and attentive, she did not say anything about me not touching my meal so I just paid, tipped her and left. I was not looking to get anything free. I have learned my lesson after this trip, I will cook my own steaks and bring my cooler on trips instead of wasting money. There should be better standards at places like this, they bank on knowing their cuts but the cook I had seems to have had a bad day and it showed with my meal and my app. You can tell when someone does not care and this showed in both dishes, I could go on but why bother? I do not like leaving bad reviews but I think it is unfair to other customers not to be honest. I wish I had taken a picture of both plates. This is my last time going out for steak on the road, I will stick to my local place which I have never been let down by, or cook it at home. read more

Went there for dinner but was told there would be a wait as they were short staffed. Turns out the other servers don't start until 4:30 pm. Apparently they were going to make everyone wait until the rest of the servers started. Well, that's just ridiculous. I know. It's a chain. It just happens to still be a good chain. The waitstaff are always friendly and the steaks are (notably) good and are not expensive. The blooming onion appetizer and the stuffed mushrooms are our favorites. The steaks are always perfectly cooked and their prime rib is delicious as well. There are other places we could go for similar food at similar prices, this is close and always has plenty of parking. Sometimes that's enough to make the decision for dinner. I wish they were opened later as we tend to not get to dinner until 8pm sometimes due to work hours and then feel rushed as the staff makes it clear they close at 9:30pm during the week. The desserts are decent quality for a chain restaurant but obviously brought in. We got the sampler for $8 and the portion sizes were very small and the desserts were only so/so, but it only cost $8 for 3 desserts. read more

Wow, no one has reviewed this place yet? Yeah, yeah, I know, chain restaurants in the Buffalo area are supposed to be a no-no, but Outback is pretty darn good! We don't have an Outback right near us, but decided to shop in the McKinley mall area and eat here first. Doors opened at 3 and we got there at 3:30 and it was already pretty busy. By the time we left at 4:20 the place was packed! That's pretty early for a Saturday, no? So, this was my first time at Outback in years. I was very happy! I got a 6oz sirloin steak cooked perfectly at medium-well. It came with 2 sides so I picked a baked potato and green beans, and they put this sweet seasoning on the beans, yum! I literally ate every bite on my plate. The best part? It was only $9.99! My husband got Shrimp en Fuego which was shrimp, mushrooms, halved cherry tomatoes in a creamy spicy sauce served on half a baked potato. It looked a little weird but he thought the taste was amazing! We were also served a small loaf of bread before our meals. Our server was great, really friendly! He was efficient, kept our drinks full and stopped by just enough times. Oh, and they were " voted #1 Best Steak in the 2009 Zagat survey of National Full Service Restaurant Chains." (I stole that line from their website but thought it was important to mention.) I was pleasantly surprised at Outback today. It was tasty and the price was right. I will be back! read more

We got the blooming onion, a few 6 oz steaks with a few different side dishes, a "bloomin burger", a few beers, and fried Mac and cheese balls . Nothing to really say, everything was pretty good. This is one of my favorite Steakhouses. The prime rib is just amazing. So is the sirloin. The service is not good. It is always busy. But I can't blame them. But it takes about 25 minutes for me to get my food. Still good though. read more
