    NEW Tasmanian Chili
    Phil W.

Welcome to the "Outback". Our lunch adventure brought us here after seeing the commercial on tv for the multi course meal this sunny Saturday afternoon. The host was absolutely hustling as he was cleaning tables and seating people as at least 10 people were waiting behind us as he was cleaning and holding the door for a couple of guests. He really could have used some help. But we were seated after about 10mins and greet by our waitress who was so incredibly polite and friendly despite hustling between all her tables (outback she's the reason for the 4 stars here) food 2.5/ service gets the rest of the credit here. So you can say the food was honestly pretty average at best. Potato soup was good according to the misses The chili was actually the best part of my meal, spicy and with real steak in it. We both got the grilled chicken (one with a little less seasoning) I chose fries and she got the Mac n cheese. The chicken was moist as my plate was pretty watery, but even with the seasoning it was pretty forgettable. The blooming onion, the signature item, that was the one thing we actually enjoyed most. As predicted the little yelper wanted chicken fingers, with her being hungry we thought she woulda loved them. One bite and she was over them, even with being soaked in ketchup. But for what we paid in total I really had loftier hopes for a great meal. Live and learn. Side memo/ if you sit in the back corner you'll get a treat of hearing the staff all say corner as they enter and leave the back. Someone get them a dome mirror or something on the wall so they aren't hustling around a blind corner.

Excellent service and good food at a decent price. Out of chain steakhouses I have to say this is my favorite. A wait most of the time when I go, but it goes rather quickly. Rather large menu and a lot of combination dishes which I think is great. Make sure to give your server your phone number for points, and you can get free appetizers after an amount of visits, or money off your bill. Definitely a bonus. I've never had a bad meal here, and was happy when my nephew suggested it for dinner.

the food was very nice but there was a piece of food on my friends food that he didn't order. other then that it was pretty nice, the service was awesome, food was put out fast and servers were kind. the ambience was very pleasant, it made me feel i was in the outback and/or the down under.

Great lunchtime experience for us today! Our plan to eat at another restaurant was torpedoed by the hour long wait for a booth. So just a few storefronts away the Outback Steakhouse had no wait times. And so we had lunch here for the first time, and it's safe to say that we will be back! The coffee was hot and black. The salads were 100% fresh, and generously dressed, lovely and delicious. The meats were tender and tasty! Vegetable sides were fresh sautéed. We'll definitely be back for more!

The food was delicious, the service was amazing. The waitress was very nice & polite. She refilled our waters and made recommendations. The ambiance was great, not loud at all. I started with a house salad, it was scrumptious. The bloomin onion though with the sauce on the side was fantastic. The sirloin steak was seasoned so good, & the shrimp with the mashed potatoes.... Yum yum! The pińa koala was made perfect!. I can't wait to come back.

I started out with the Koala Punch which is Bacardie Superior Rum, Malibue pineapple Rum, lemonade, mango and Watermelon flavors with a koala chillin' on top rhat you get to keep and was amazing. With fast and friendly service my dinner arrived which was a small side salad , chicken with a sweet potato and the hot complimentary bread.Fir dessert I got a slice of cheesecake with raspberry sauce.Plenty of parking on site in their lot.

Our reservations were at 6:00pm and we arrived 5 min early and were seated right away. Much to our surprise we were escorted, all the way to what we would call the patio with rattan high top chairs and marble tables, with no more than 5 tables and window bar seating. The restaurant has linen table cloth tables with nice padded chairs which we did not have the pleasure to dine on. We have to say the waiter/bartender was very attentive during our meal. At the end of our meal I stopped at the hostess station and spoke to a manager about our concerns. She advised me I should have said I wanted the dining room, but I explained I had no idea there was an area other than the dining room for dinner to ask for, as I did this over the phone and not online. Normally a restaurant will ask if you are ok with the patio area but that was never asked. When you secure reservations over 2 months prior to an event you would think you would get the main dining room with the linen table cloths and padded chairs. I am not sure what my early reservation got me when again I got rattan chairs at a high top marble table. The manager advised next time I should specify where I want to sit, but I can safely say there will be no next time. This was supposed to be a nice romantic dinner for us, but clearly sitting in the bar/patio area we could have done anywhere. That can often mean high noise…read morelevels as others have noted, modern restaurant construction seems to put acoustics at the bottom of the priority list. That said, I did not find it overly loud, just loud enough where you had to raise your voice slightly. Enough about that. Johnson's Landing has a Lenten fish fry special, $20 for a full fish fry with sides, and this includes one of their specialty beers. This is a good deal to get a craft beer included with your fish fry. I actually ordered it to go and enjoyed the beer while waiting for the fish to take out. It was a very solid fish dinner, the batter was crispy, not oily. The fish was fresh, all of the sides were good, even the rye bread was a nice hearty thick cut of rye. The mac salad featured tuna, which I do like. And the fries were hot and tasty. The fish itself was not huge but was big enough for us. Every component of the fish fry dinner was on point. The barmaid was efficient and friendly, I did not have to wait. My only complaint is that they do not list beer prices on their menu, which was fine this time since it was included with the meal, but would prevent me from enjoying a stop on the way home for a beer or two. I think it is a sneaky practice, but strangely I do note prices on their website, and guess what? All draft beers are $8 including Labatt Blue Light, unless the website is now outdated. ($8 for Labatt's!! Holy Moly!) I can see why it is not on the printed menu. I really don't like when there is not full price transparency, thus four stars instead of five. However I wholeheartedly endorse the value and quality of the Lenten fish fry special.

Unfortunately, that really wasn't our experience. The biggest issue was cleanliness. The entire place felt tired and dirty. The carpets looked heavily worn and stained, the booths had food stuck in the crevices, and overall it just didn't feel clean or well maintained. The dishes and drinkware didn't help. The coffee mugs, which were once white, were badly stained and dingy looking. My mother actually rubbed something off hers, and the waitress explained that it "wasn't dirty, just stained." Not exactly the best first impression, especially at $55 per person for brunch. We ordered mimosas after that, hoping things would improve, but even the champagne glasses looked questionable and were filled to noticeably different levels. Then the food arrived, and unfortunately it only got worse. Everything was served "family style," but there was no menu or explanation of what was coming. The meal felt random and poorly executed. Some highlights included: * A single store-bought pastry cut into pieces * Mac and cheese that tasted like boxed Velveeta * Deep-fried breakfast sausages * Ham that resembled warmed-up lunch meat * Three shrimp total for two people * A bowl of stew meat that felt completely out of place * An Eggs Benedict attempt that simply didn't work To make matters worse, some of the silverware and plates appeared dirty as well. By the end, we honestly couldn't wait to leave. The automatic $20 holiday service charge on top of the already expensive brunch really sealed the experience for us. Sadly, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had in quite a while.

She warned me it was a "hole in the wall" and she was right. Personally, I love dive bars, so I wasn't afraid I would call this more of a neighborhood bar. Finding it... I thought I was going down the wrong road because it's sort of behind factories and train tracks and sits at the end of a street in the middle of a neighborhood. No big signage no big parking lot just an old building that probably was someone's house at some point in time. The exterior is nothing fancy. But as soon as you open the door, you are definitely in a neighborhood bar. We're probably "everyone knows your name "I got there at 4:15 and the place was packed. There's a bar area and a separate smallish dining room with maybe 15 tables. Maxx clearly has a lot of regulars because my friend knew one of the groups of diners and finally enough I knew one of them too. This is probably a place where neighbors gather, or guys getting off from the Ford plant. Go to have drinks after work. The service was fast and friendly with one server Rob taking care of the whole place. I honestly don't know how she did it, but she did it well and with a smile the whole time. The menu was basic, but there's something for everyone. Burgers, wings, pizza, apparently they are known for their fish fry, and homemade clam chowder. One of my group had the fish fry and it looks so good. I had to take a picture of it and send it to my husband who is also a big fish fry fan. He was impressed. She and my friend had a cup of the clam chowder soup and I regretted not having the same because it looked absolutely delicious and piping hot. You could tell it was homemade. Both my friend and I were in the mood for pizza, and I wouldn't really order pizza from a place that's not known for it but order it we did. It had more of a thick crust, but it was crispy maybe a little overdone, but it was edible and tasty. I probably should have gone for the chicken finger sub or the wings. The prices are extremely reasonable. I mean really reasonable. The quantity of food was plentiful, the quality was good, service was great,. If you're looking for a cute little bar just for some basic food, friendly service and a cold beer give this place a try. And remember, don't judge it from the outside.

My wife ordered the stuffed shells and I got the short rib gnocchi. The shells were good, but the gnocchi was otherworldly. It was one of the best dishes I have had in a very long time. We also had the arancini appetizer and the creme brûlée dessert both of which were solid. On one last note, the portions were quite large, so while it was a bit expensive for a lunch we also got dinner off the leftovers, and that made it feel like a much better deal.
