Haven't got our food yet, but from what I can tell so far, not enough bread they bring out. 2 hungry people will eat it in 30 seconds. Did not put salt on my beer that was supposed to be dressed. You know Outback Steakhouse they have a pretty good steak for a chain restaurant , the bar is set up well to watch the game. The staff is always friendly and full of information about the menu items. I just don't get there much for some reason, maybe 2 or 3 times a year. read more

I dropped by for a dinner take out and the staff were very friendly and assistive offering me suggestions on menu. I ordered a salmon fillet with a lobster tail as an add-on. Both were delicious, however, the lobster tail was kind of cold. It was still good and I definitely enjoyed it. read more

We had the opportunity to eat at an Outback for the first time in at least 3 years at your Abilene Texas location 0n March 27, 2018. As is typical with every Outback location we have had the pleasure of dining in, the experience overall was wonderful! The restaurant was nice and clean and our greeter was vey friendly and welcomed us to Outback. We were seated promptly and our server Courtney was very prompt. She was very nice, friendly and professional. She took our drink order and asked if we would like an appetizer. How can anyone not order a Blooming Onion?? She brought our drinks and we had a couple of questions on what we wanted to order. Courtney was very knowledgeable and helpful. We placed our order when she brought our wonderful onion. She brought our salads and checked to see if there was anything else she could do for us. Then she brought our stakes and my wife's addition or a lobster. She said the lobster was absolutely wonderful. She checked with us from time to time but was not a pesterer like so many young server and we really appreciate that! Courtney asked about the food and we told her that it was really god BUT that the steaks had way to much pepper and slightly to much salt. I do no want her in any trouble but she told us that from time to time she and other servers get the complaint about to much pepper. She offered to get us new ones but we told her no thank you and that we would make it work. WHY do chefs anywhere use pepper anyway as it is the one thing that CAN BE ADDED by the consumer after being served, HOWEVER, it can not be effectively be removed without the rest of the seasonings being removed as well. I DO quite a bit of grilling and have for over 50 years and I know that whether the pepper is put on while cooking or by the consumer later there is absolutely no change in its flavor. I don't want to indicate that our visit to the Abilene Outback was bad overall. I was a wonderful evening for us and WE WILL EAT THERE AGAIN fairly soon. We live 90 miles away so we don't eat in Abilene regularly but when we do we usually eat at the Olive Garden or Red Lobster. Now that we have located the Outback tit will be another wonderful choice for us and we will ask for Courtney. She is a tremendous asset to the Abilene Texas Outback!!!! read more

This was the biggest disappointment in almost 36 years of business travel. I decided to eat at the bar, big mistake. It wasn't very crowded at all yet it seemed as if nobody wanted to wait on me. I ordered a coconut shrimp appetizer and prime rib. I waited and waited. The prime rib came before the shrimp appetizer. The prime rib had obviously been frozen and reheated. It was lukewarm and didn't have much flavor at all. They brought me the coconut shrimp, it was the boiling point of lead. It had been fried in older grease and just didn't taste very good at all. I don't know what on earth happened to Outback Steakhouse, it's really gone downhill. I wouldn't waste the time or the money. read more

Honestly, one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. We called ahead during a busy period of time and were seated within minutes, our waitress was timely and knew the menu well, she was able to give knowledgeable suggestions when we needed them, and was very polite. Even though the restaurant was swamped she made sure we had everything we needed, and we never once felt rushed. The other wait staff were helpful as well when ours wasn't available. The manager, Dayne was a pleasure to talk to, he had a lively attitude and genuinely cared about how everything was going. The food came out quick, and everything tasted great. Our steaks were delicious, and the shrimp was amazing as well. Very rarely do you actually feel welcome at a restaurant, they made it happen. My date went amazing due in no small part to everyone working there. I would highly suggest going to this Outback. read more

Took my girlfriend here for the first time. She had never been before and now let's just say she is a believer in Australian food. Best service I have ever been given! They went above and beyond make sure we had the best experience! The service was better than something that you would see in a movie. Took my Mom and Dad here Wednesday night. We all ordered the prime rib, medium, thinking it sounded good. It was literally inedible. It could not be cut without sawing on it like a lumberjack. Chewing it was out of the question. We all sent it back to see if it needed to be cooked more, but that didn't help. Finally gave up and took it home for the dogs. Next time I'll stick to the beer and onion rings at Outback and cook my steaks at home. read more

What can ya say but WOW. Great food (well, except for the time they brought my very rare prime rib on a sizzling plate so it was near medium well--ugh--when I finished). But the lobster tails are much better than Red Lobster. (But again EVERYPLACE is better than Red Lobster). Fresh veggies were great. read more

I know Outback is a chain restaurant and I don't usually go for chain when I travel, but if you are in Abilene, ther isn't that much options around. I am a regular at this Outback when I am here for business because it's across from my hotel and I love their grilled Salmon entree. I am also a big fan of their cocktail menu. read more

I ordered curbside b/c I'm staying in a hotel and had been traveling, wanted something fast and close. Staff was very friendly on the phone and in person. The food came out within the time they told me it would. I ordered the Parmesan Herb Crusted Chicken which was very salty and paid $1 extra to get asparagus as a side. Seriously though, 5 pieces of asparagus? Lol. It was good but I felt like I should've received several more pieces as well as would've liked less salty taste on the chicken and for it to be a little more tender. We ordered the lobster and steak meal for $15. The lobster was great given the fact that it was about 3" long. With careful use of my knife, I barely got 5 bites out of it. The steak was good but not much bigger. I left there still hungry.That will be my last visit to this restaurant. read more

Why is it impossible to get a correct take out order at outback ? I ordered 3 entrees & asked for plastic ware because traveling with food. They forgot. Then brought me 1. Is that rocket science to know 3 entrees were ordered & paid for that 3 plastic wares should be given. My husband and i were trying to have dinner there as a celebration for me paying off my car. We walked in and were seated with seemingly no problem ordered soft drinks and appetizer and were going to order a acholic drink but before we could the waitress stated that she would not serve us due to my husband already being drunk. And said that her manager said not to serve us as well. First off i just got off of work and he hasnt drank anything other than diet dr pepper. Second he is on alot of meds for bipolar and ptsd. And wasnt displaying any signs or symptoms of drunkenness. He was fumbling with his mask since he had a beanie and sunglasses on. The assumption was insulting and made me so irate. How dare them!? He is on meds and there was no smell of alcohol or stumbling or any of the tabc guidlines to identify inebriated persons. I am tabc certified and again very upset that they embarrassed us like that. I had to go home i was so upset. And now im upset and embarrassed and starving.. Having visited many different Outbacks all over the east coast, this location is mediocre. The service is always good and there is never a long wait to be seated....there's a reason for that. I usually judge an outback's food quality by their prime rib. This may be one sided but that's just me. On three separate occasions I've ordered the prime rib and all three times it was "soso". The cut of meat looked like leftovers from the lion pen at the Abilene Zoo. Everything else was ok though. read more

Slow serves, mediocre lukewarm food. I know that it's a chain but a little more pride in their work would be nice. I had to ask for our salad before we got it, our appetizer had gone cold before getting the salad, and when we finally got our main course it was lukewarm and had obviously been sitting in the back for awhile. I waited over an hour for a salad (7 months pregnant) and when I questioned where my food was, the manager told me they lost my order in the back and I would have to wait another 30 minutes. My Husband and I and our children visited this establishment on Saturday. We are a party of 6 and normally we tend to get simi good service, but service this night was awesome.
