If I could give a negative star I would. My family and I went and right off the bat it went left. It was 95 outside at 7pm which is normal for us here in Texas but the temperature inside was awful and we could literally feel heat blowing from the vents. We're seated with small children in tote no crayons. Okay np. The waitress was sweet but the overwhelming fake country accent was just too much and even had my son and husband questioning our decision. It took a minute for drinks to arrive and when it was time to order (mind you it's still God awful hot to the point of having to fan ourselves) she expresses "before you even ask we are out of potatoes. Someone went to go get more". The table next to us is fanning and now their waitress walks up with a calculator and says "sorry the machines are down". Steaks ordered by all at our table. My daughter ordered medium rare and it was dryer than the air in the restaurant. My husband's come out so thin and basically burnt. Mine was covered in pepper. My daughter "mom can you smell the inside of my glass please" sure as shit smells like fish. At one point the sweat started dripping off my husband's face. Went to pay and was blown away at the price. And the waitress added in her kind fake accent " yall try in stay cool. No literally try and stay cool out there" .... Ma'am what about in here!! No-one offered a discount for the fact it felt like it was 200 degrees in there and well what's a steak without a baked potato. Sometimes, Outback gets a bad rap but tonight it was excellent. My pork chops were very tasty and the Mac n cheese was yummy as well as the perfectly cooked baked potato. I appreciate the server for telling me that the chili did not look good tonight and I substituted the Mac n cheese. My wife got the Queensland chicken and shrimp pasta and really liked it. The kids chicken strips were good and I loved the fries. Yes, I stole a few from my great niece. The boomarita was excellent as always. The margarita down under was good and a great deal at $10 with an extra shot of tequila on the side. The gingerbread cookie martini was so good and a great Christmas drink. Haven't been to Outback in years due to declining quality but decided to give it another try since there was plenty of parking available. Ordered the steak medium well and it arrived bloody. Sent it back and asked they just cook a little more. Wanted a little pink but not overcooked. About 20 minutes later, they brought an extremely well done, practically burnt steak. Not edible. Paid the bill, left a good tip since this is not the fault of the server. Will never go back. However the baked potato was really good. read more

We walked in and got seated. Asked for two kids menus and didn't get them. I had to get up and go get them myself. Then we ordered coconut shrimp and the waitress dropped them on the ground before they got to the table. Ordered a potato soup and it never ever came. The waitress fumbled all her words and said yes mamm to my friend who is a man. Then I had to get up to get my own silverware and napkins. No plates ever came. We paid for the drinks and walked out. When every restaurant has a one hour wait and this on has one other person in it, that's a big tell that this place sucks. I walked in wanting to dine at the bar. The host was rude and said I couldn"t eat at the bar and there was a wait. The restaurant was almost completey empty! I walked out-some people should not be in the service industry. With the competitive nature of the food service industry customers should not be so rudely turned away! I went to Outback recently and ended up with one of the worst cases of food poisoning I've ever had. A few hours after eating, I was nauseous, sweating, and eventually got sick the entire night. I am an overweight male and it is hard to make food I do not like. However this place is full of surprises. Not only was the food bad, but the service was horrendous. The waitress was good but it took 4 business days for the food to come out. I ordered a steak medium and it was darker than Trumps glorious black suit. When I say this steak was not seasoned I mean it. Honestly if I went out into the woods and killed a cow and cooked it on hot rocks it would have been more tender and seasoned. I have noticed that Outback has had some less than flattering reviews on the local restaurant review page . Decided to try it today and we were not disappointed . The bread was fresh and hot and the waiter brought a second loaf. The salad was fresh and ample . The entrees ordered were Alice Springs and Blooming Chicken . We were both pleased . we were there for an hour and 45 minutes. meal comes out steak is burnt on the outside and rare on the inside. it was ordered as medium well. since it took so long to get the food, although it was messed up. took original back to cook longer, brought it back out was still rare edges were burnt even more. manager comes out to say grills were shut down and cleaned for the night. never actually got the correct meal. management needs replaced. never have I been to a place where everything gets shut down when customers are still present. management staff failed. out server was outgoing and absolutely amazing in trying to fix the issue. would not recommend and will never return. read more

I took my family to this restaurant for Veterans Day as I am a Veteran and appreciated the deal that Outback offered to our service members. However, the visit turned into a horrible mess. We were offered cheesecake as a covered veteran dessert only to find out they had run out. I then ordered my 3 course meal with a baked potato (everything but chives) to find out they had run out of bacon. My wife ordered the grilled shrimp which usually comes with a bed of rice, but instead came with a burnt piece of rye bread. We asked for our salads to be to go knowing we couldn't eat everything in one sitting but we got no croutons. Our desserts, also Togo, we had to wait 32 minutes for. The restaurant was disorganized, unattended by any level of management and was a slap in the face for all of the veterans in attendance. I heard multiple tables get frustrated at the quality of service and lack of attention to detail. This is not the first time this disdain for paying customers has been received. The GM should be stripped of any leadership potential because they couldn't prepare for something as simple as Veterans Day. You know I can't write anything about Outback's food that you don't already know. I can tell you about their staff and service. The hosts were friendly and my waitress rocked. My pre-steak salad was mostly white lettuce, which I loathe. Lettuce should be GREEN. My waitress asked about it and I told her it wasn't great. She offered to provide another salad or side and I declined (I still have steak coming! The salad is like the warm-up act before a concert - I didn't come here for salad). Within minutes I had a manager check on me and offer another salad or side and again I declined. She said she'd remove the salad from my bill (not sure how that works since it was included with steak...?). I got the filet mignon with mushroom topping. Steak came bare. I had to ask twice for them. When they arrived, I was underwhelmed. They were just canned-looking (and tasting) mushrooms swimming in butter grease. I wouldn't pay extra for those again. The salad was OK, but the margarita wasn't blended well, so ice chunks would stick to the end of the straw so I couldn't get a drink. Had to let it thaw enough to drink it out of the glass. When the actual meal came out is where things went south. Our steaks looked like they were cooked on a grease-covered flat-top and looked like no steak we've ever seen. The crust was tough and tasted slightly burnt, but thankfully, the inside was juicy and tender despite the taste. My wife's lobster tail was so tough and rubbery that she had to use her steak knife to cut it. We used to eat at Outback in San Antonio fairly often, and it was delicious and consistent, but every single time we've been to this one, it's just been consistently bad. Today we went to Outback, around 1130 am, a place we normally love to visit. We were so surprised to find things not tasting good today. I will say right up front however, management did provide compensation for the portion of our meal that was just not eatable. We did order something different, combo plate 8oz sirloin and ribs, requesting a medium cook on the steak. When the food arrived, the steak was more rare than medium, but we thought we would go with it. Turns out we should have sent it back. It was so tough it was hard to cut with a knife, I had trouble getting it chewed up enough to swallow, and the flavor was just aweful. Not sure how it was cooked, but it was not up to Outback's usual standards. Management was great in providing a second 8 oz sirloin, and while it was cooked more medium well, it was still tough and did not have a great flavor. The baked potato was excellent as was the bloomin onion. End of the meal, it was pit stop time......my question is.......why can you not make sure the restrooms have toliet paper before you start your busy lunch time? Is it too much to ask the night shift to make sure all the stalls have full toliet paper? or is it not something the day shift can do before opening? The paper towel holders do not work, and one of them has been out for several months as it was in the same condition the last time we stopped in. So there are big rolls of paper towels sitting by the sinks getting wet by peoples hands and splashes of soap and water. In my opinion, the state of the restroom tells me the state of the kitchen - lack of care translates to the whole restuarant. Perhaps that is why the experience was bad today. My recommendation - leave the sirloins alone. Our normal order, which we have delivered, is melbourne porterhouse or the ribeye. We went to Outback on Saturday, and had the best date night ever! I was impressed by the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. We had the greatest waiter was an absolute delight his name is Andre', Not only was he friendly and courteous, but recommended the new sweet and spicy dishes, so I ordered the chicken and shrimp! Best thing I have ever had at Outback! No exaggeration!! They didn't skimp on the shrimp other places give you a few even when that's your entire meal. This was so lightly crusted and the honey to dip in with the red Anaheim peppers made this absolutely delicious! My broccoli was cooked to perfection, not mushy at all! The bartender made an absolutely perfect Patrone margarita, best drink I have had in more than 4 years! My other half had a porter house steak cooked perfectly and our waiter checked on us periodically never had to ask him to come over he is officially going to be my waiter and I am gonna be back next Friday for that amazing shrimp dinner, service, and drink again! Comping a meal is an action, taken by restaurant owners, operators, managers, and sometimes servers, to pay for a guest's meal; comping is oftentimes - but not always - a result of something going wrong in the dining experience. Went in for dinner ordered Victoria Filet Mignon. Steak was rubbery hard to even cut with knife. Waiter took back & manager brought another. Second steak was better but still not tender like a filet Mignon should be, ate about a 1/4 of it. Manager brings out my receipt says she comped me for filet and took 10% of total which was $7.94 dollars taken off. I thought we'll at least they made it right. Well they DIDN'T because on my bill I was actually charged for both filets not just one. I asked them where they were comping me and was told they took off the first filet that was cooked (Which is not my fault the it was cooked wrong-right) I don't have a problem with paying what I ordered. But don't tell me you comped the filet and turn around and bill me twice for it! That is not the definition of comping! And to top it off you try and justify why you charged me twice for it. We have always enjoyed eating at Outback but the take out experience has been terrible. Twice within the past 2 weeks we have ordered the Victoria's fillet with baked potato. Both times the potatoes were not edible. They had the appearance of being left over and then rewarmed in the microwave. The inside of the potato was discolored and the texture was lumpy and difficult to separate from the skin. The skin was tough and difficult to cut into and as the potato cooled, it hardened even more. The steaks were good but for the price we had to pay, the overall experience was highly disappointing. I guess they reserve the fresh potatoes for dine-in customers and send out the left over rewarmed potatoes to take out customers because they figure we will not return to the restaurant just because of a lousy baked potato. When we asked for dressing because it had none the waitress questioned when we asked and took a real good look at the salad before getting us more. the waitress amanda told us she would tell the manager AMY and after she told her the manager repeatedly walked back and forth giving us all dirty looks. She came over and asked if everything was okay we all said yeah it's okay and then our entrees came out and my mother asked for medium rare steak which is a 30 dollar steak, you would think since it's a steak house they would know how to cook steak but it came out really over cooked and as you can see in the picture is it not medium rare. I will never be coming here again, I usually am not picky at all with food at all but this was just horrible. If you're looking for some steak cooked to ur preference i do not recommend this place at all! every thing else was okay but i was just really disappointed by a restaurant that has expensive food on the menu.
