I travel the states for work and always try the Philly Cheesesteak wherever I go, I love them! I have eaten them all over this great nation and the Philly that Steak Express turns out is top tier in my book! I love the portion amount, the bread is great, the chop of the meat to veggies is perfect and that cheese on every bite makes a fabulious sandwich! If you are a philly fan, give this one a try! read more

The hypocrisy with this place is absolutely hilarious. They are a gun free zone and don't support the second amendment for therefore don't support Constitution. But yet their staff was having water fight in the parking lot. ‍ The food was over priced and gross greasy not the way a real Philly cheesesteak is. Bread was stale. read more

Used to be really good, I ordered at least two (if not three) times a week for lunch. Then the quality of the steak tips went WAY DOWN. They were chewy and tough. Then they forgot how to cook them right. I stopped going. read more

Fast and consistent service with burgers that are always delicious and the best peach tea. The store is tiny and in a horrible location with the intersection but is always worth the hassle. read more

Sometimes its a hit or miss. The customer service needs some work. Seems like they rush you to order. The food is good, never been inside the place but if u want a steak without the wait thats the place to go read more

The employee was great n the salad n mushrooms BUT my steak tips were nothing but PURE FAT!!! Very disappointed. I was craving them n was not a good experience. read more

Burger tasted like the only seasoning used was CHARCOAL. Delivery was very slow, but courteous.

Very disappointing and waste of money. Employee didn't know what fountain drink was but said they had them so Pepsi in a bottle it was. Lettuce in the salad was the nastiest I've had in a long time. Glad the steak was cooked right or whole thing would have hit the trash can. Let's just say I had to eat dinner from elsewhere to say I had dinner that evening. read more

I always count on steak express. Except this last time I was disappointed. I always look forward to my baked potato. Unfortunately, it was cold and hard. Wouldn't even touch the butter to melt it just a little. The steak bites were good. It took an extra long time for delivery also. Guess I am spoiled, they are usually so fast. read more

The 2 Philly's we ordered was so salty, it was not eatable. And the sirloin in the salad was so tough and way too much lettuce. Again, not eatable. Not ordering again. read more

This is a "I have to stop by" Abilene must if you're craving one of the best steak sandwiches or entrees ever. We loved Steak Express while this was our last duty station with the USAF. Along with our other Dyess AFB friends, we all miss it still to this day. Those that are no longer in the area got jealous when we got to stop by a few weeks ago. I wish I could afford a franchise restaurant here I'm Fort Worth. They are all out in west Texas. read more

Had a steak delivered to the hotel while staying there! Was so good! Would eat there again!

It's a little pricey but Great burgers (and big ones) and great steaks, always perfectly cooked! Free ice tea if you pick it up and the drive through is always quick so this place is a winner! read more

I posted on google as well. Our family will not return. Peach cobbler crust was BURNT. We asked for a replacement and the general manager says no just offered a discount. This happened 7/4, we took pictures, threw it out. It's only been 1.5 days so no reason they couldn't replace. But we certainly don't want to return after they upped the prices and burned the food then refused to correct their mistake. So why give us a discount? read more

I had this for lunch and I am very surprised. I throughly enjoyed every part of my meal. I had the lunch steak tips that came w a salad and baked potato. The steak was cooked perfectly, very tender. The potato was fresh and hot! The salad was made with good lettuce! The sweet tea was also awesome! The delivery driver was so helpful and sweet. We had a large order at work and all of our orders were correct and delicious! Will definitely eat it again! read more

Food is great but service and ethics are horrible. Manager and GM are running the business to the ground. Finally giving this place up after being one of my favorite restaurants sadly. Consistent for being inconsistent. Check everything before you leave worse than McDonald's with service. read more

This place delivers high quality, consistent and delicious food over and over. You get a potato, salad and more with a chopped steak for the sand or less than a "burger" joint. A+ read more

Great piece of meat for the price and speed. First, let's manage expectations. This is fast food. But they're good at what they do. I ordered a T-Bone medium well. It tasted excellent. The staff were professional and fast. When I got home I made my own sides and I was satisfied with the experience. I definitely recommend this place! read more

Fast delivery. I ordered the philly and it was soggy, a bit tasteless and disappointing. Won't order again. People were awesome and so were the mushrooms (in a cup whole) so they get 3 stars. No, just...NO. read more

The steaks & burgers are delicious but the philly cheesesteak is all time my favorite. I stop by here every time I'm in Abilene. Please come to the DFW area!! I know a lot of people who would love to have a steak & baked potato delivered to their offices for lunch. read more

I used to love the steaks, but now they are tough and much smaller, l also didn't get the mushrooms I ordered. When I called them about the mushrooms, wanting them taken off my card, I was told could be 3-5 days, really I didn't even get them. Probably the last time I order from them. read more

So good!!!! I was in Abiliene for work and never been to Abiliene. A friend of mine told me about steak Express and I am so glad I tried them. I got the steak tips with loaded baked potato and a side of sausage. So yummy and filling. So much food and it is inexpensive! Tio: sausage is spicy but yummy! read more

Ordered two steaks, offered to pick up. Arrived, had to wait, we paid at the drive thru, left. Immediately upon arriving and parking at home received a phone call to inform me that the order we paid for was the wrong order. We received the right food, but paid the wrong ticket. We paid what we were told to pay. We were informed that our transaction was cancelled and credited but we needed to return to pay the right ticket. Get this: OVER $4.00. Now we have to turn around, waste more gas, time over their mistake and their demand that we make them whole by returning and correcting their mistake, unheard of! Who makes us whole? Now we have been credited for the meal we have not paid for, we are returning to pay for the correct meal (they think), but instead we will return to return the entire damn meal. We are now whole. I'll cook my own steak! At least it won't be cold. So we just went in and they said they would rather have the food back instead of a 4.00 loss...our ticket was 28.00. They would rather lose 28.00 instead of 4.00? Talk about tripping over a dollar to pick up a dime! read more

I've passed by this place several times and never gave it a second thought but the other night I wanted something different so I decided to give them a try. Never in my life have I been so right! I ordered the medium ribeye medium which was a bit over cooked but the mushrooms, grilled shrimp and loaded baked potato more than made up for it. My son got the triple bacon cheeseburger and when a teenage boy can't finish a burger you know it's huge. He said it was amazing. We both got the cheesecake which was ok but the strawberries were great. We will be ordering from here again. read more

Extremely generous salad portions. Always order for delivery and it's always early or on time. Tea is just as delicious.

First off. .. let me sing the praise of the amazing caramelized onions this "fast food" joint offers as a side to your order. They are heavenly. Their mushrooms are great as well and come close in second place. I have had their burgers many a time and never was i not extremely pleased with the flavor. Their best, though, are the steaks. Perfect for those times you are on the go all day and do not feel like setting up a BBQ just to grill your steak. You can opt for delivery or pick-up and be sure to have your food ready to go. The owner is a true patriot and, on Veterans Day as well as a few other occasions throughout the year, he will offer active duty and their families either free burgers or wonderful discounts. I ordered steak with a baked potato and two kids meals. It was horrible! The steak was like rubber, maybe worse. The baked potato was bad. It looked disgusting. My child wanted to try it. It was so hard, it broke the fork they sent with it. The children's chicken came cold. My daughter's felt frozen in the middle. I called to inform them. They were not polite or helpful. Told me they will talk to their cooks and do better next time. I was staying in a hotel. The woman at the front desk said they were amazing. Only thing that was half way decent was the chips that came with it (prepackaged). Over priced for what you get. If you are looking to find out what burnt rubber taste like, try this place. read more

No. Weird little chewy steak pieces with an undercooked spud. That's alright I'll pass

Maybe 1 1/2 stars may even be better. Nothing at this place is good and I hesitate to call what they gave me, steak. I've had it 3x and every time it has been trash. I've never had to use steak sauce, but had to use multiple packs on that "steak" to manage to eat a little bit to avoid starving (I should have just starved). I know people around here like bland tasteless food but this had zero flavor in anythin read more

Always loved quick delivered meals from Steak Express and probably will get from them in the future. But never steak. Burgers, no problem. Chicken, still good. My wife and I ordered the steak tips for 2 and they were almost inedible. Grisly bad cuts of meat. Side salad and potato were good and I'm glad because that was the meal. Seems like their quality has been slipping and I hope they figure this out. read more

Alright. Progress. I admit maybe I was ordering the wrong steak when I ordered the New York strip, I just can't imagine it being so thin though. I really did not want to make dinner the other night and steak express was just sounding soooo good (the old steak express) so I decided to give them another chance. I did an online order and then caked the store and told them I had just spent $60 so it better not be any less than perfect. B, the manager was very understanding and even advised me of a special they had and I ended up ordering that. It was a ribeye this time instead of the New York strip and they turned out perfect. They were cooked to perfection and a great quantity of steak. I was very impressed this time. Just be advised not to order their New York strip because it's pretty thin and can't be cooked to perfection. read more

DAMN!!! The burgers have GREAT flavor!! I'll admit I haven't tried the steak because I can't stop ordering burgers each and every time!! I don't like burgers...at all. I NEVER order burgers. Nope. Customer service is . First of all, the pricing here is not correct and the menu is out of date. My 14 year old ordered wings, as per their menu. They said they don't have wings and haven't for years and that I was looking at an old menu. When I pulled up the menu I was looking at, they kept saying, you can't look at google. Um, well...this is not google, it's Yelp. . My two other kids ordered the kids chicken nugget meals...BUYER BEWARE...they are not chicken nuggets. Dinobites are what's for dinner! GROSS! And to top it off, the pricing is more than listed here. I argued and showed them the price difference and they told me that I can't look a google. I shook my head and said, you need to fix it. If people are ordering on line, you need to fix it. After investigating my food further, I opened my cold condiments (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle) to see the saddest, smallest, limp brown lettuce leaf. To call it a leaf is a stretch. I asked for new lettuce and they obliged. I asked them if they could throw away the sad piece. They pointed me to the trash can. So, all in all, I wasted time, energy and money here. I'm disappointed at the lack of service, concern or care that they displayed. At every complaint, they justified their crappy service. There were no attempts to refund, make it right, apologize. I will not return. Sadly, my Steak Express fan girl status has come to an end. Gross food, gross people. Gross service. Gross energy. Just gross! read more

A co-worker and I were in Abilene on business and were going to stop for lunch. When we pulled into the parking lot we realized we were in the wrong lot so we drove across the grass to the right one. The manager was in the lot and mumbled something so I rolled down my window to see what he said and he tried to start a fight with me. Not a good look Steak express, I'd find me a different manager. read more
