I grew up in this area and attend a wedding at the church and used to rent paddle boats as a teenager here. Brought back some cool old memories. This trip we had family we picked up from the airport... was a such a nice day for the patio in early October. Our server Alex G, was friendly and attentive. We so enjoyed her personality and sense of humor! The menu has so many options and we feasted on several appetizers (Pork Belly Bruschetta, Roasted Cauliflower and Chicken Shwarma Rolls). Lunch was a mix of salads, poke bowls and it was all just so good. In our conversations Alex heard that one of our guests birthday was in a few days.... She made sure to surprise her with a great desert for us all to share. Nice attention to detail! Definitely a unique and beautiful place with a great menu. Can't wait to go back.

I was traveling alone, and on my arrival night at the hotel, I had a beer at the bar and enjoyed chatting with the bartenders. In the morning, I returned to get some work done over breakfast and coffee. I went with the omelette- which is build your own- and a latte. The meal came with big smashes potatoes on the side, along with sourdough bread & jam. Enjoyed my drink as well, made with Starbucks coffee & added vanilla. The breakfast was a whopping $30 however, which I find kind of wild. Is it just that it's because the restaurant is inside a hotel? Maybe these are typical Chicago prices? Either way, plan to spend a fair bit to dine here.

He was obviously very very drunk to a point where he could barely walk wo/stumbling. He was slurring his words. Both my sister & I asked the bartender not to serve him anymore alcohol but she kept serving him drinks even after we asked. She continued to serve him even after we asked her not to. When he and my sister left she told me he tried to put the key in the ignition 14X's before she convinced him to let her drive. Your bartender's need to be aware of a persons level of intoxication. Both my sister & I asked her not to serve him anymore drinks but she continued to serve him. Thank God my sister was able to convince him to let her drive home otherwise what was an excellent evening could have ended tragically. Please have your bartenders be more conscious of a persons level of intoxication. While I gave Bourbon & Brass a 5 star review I need to down grade that for over serving someone alcohol even after both my sister & I asked her to stop serving him

Since we were in Chicago, I took my boss and coworker to the Tiki TIki next door for a shot of Malort. It's Chicago, after all. 1 shot became 2, 2 became 4, and before I knew it, the bartender was ushering us through the swinging door into Pete's once they opened. Fun fact: we were the first ones in and also shut the bar down. From the moment the pianists started, it was clear this place was on point. Even them doing introductions and giving the ground rules was done musically. All four singers were wicked talented, and rotated in and out through the night. On occasion, they came together and became a full on quartet playing instruments other than pianos. Vocals were amazing, the energy in the place was such that I didn't even realize the time until they did last call and the lights came up. The layout of Pete's lends itself to entertainment. Regardless of what table you are at, you have a great view of the stage and no one has their back to the performance. The atmosphere is covered with fun and bright signs all over and despite being a larger place, it feels intimate when your song is played and everyone sings along. The table service was also great. She never hovered, but we also never lacked a drink. The next best thing about this place, after the performers, is the level of crowd interaction. There were folks singing along to every single song, and at times it was the whole bar. A couple of times during the night, folks were running around the bar riding a horse's head (or maybe a unicorn) on a stick. Somehow, it all just made sense. Pete's turned what could have been another boring end of a work trip sitting in the hotel into a night full of laughs, shots, and having a hoarse voice for days.

It was a festive and fun and tense night, and I had a blast until things fell apart in the 6th inning. Beacon Tap has a great reputation as a good and long standing local sports bar and it lived up to it. In fact, I learned that on Bears football Sundays, you need to reserve a spot here as it's so packed, you can't just walk in and watch a game. I sat at the bar and ended up having a couple of delectable Maplewood Son of Juice IPA drafts (at a reasonable $7.25 apiece) and had a blast with fellow fans, two of whom were regulars here. Tim was the fine and attentive bartender and he kept the beers flowing and it was a packed bar and dining room as expected. I left after the 6th inning when the game was decided and the Sox eventually lost 9-5. It would have been so cool to celebrate a major sports win in a sports bar along with the comaraderie, something I've never experienced, but alas, it will probably have to be in another life, ugh. Come to think of it, I have been at a winning major championship game, the Bears' 1985 NFC championship game when they beat the Rams 24-0 at Soldier Field, but being at a rowdy sports bar is indeed another thing.
